Carson oil was a nightmare to deal with. Thomas in residential repair doesn’t return his voicemail. Both times I’ve called in for an issue he doesn’t return my call, it’s not like a day or two pasted before I called back in for help again. This time I was transferred to another person, they returned my call a couple hours later.It started with them coming out to do a repair, and their delayed ordering of the part until I called in looking for an updated. I was told that they needed to come back out and confirm the measurements taken by their service guy. This would have gone longer if I wasn’t proactively checking in on the repair. Then when the part came in they couldn’t get the system to start and said it just needed more oil in the tank. They told me that once I added oil it would work. They put notes in their system that didn’t match what was told to me. They went ahead on their own to disconnect the system, and not tell anyone. Now requiring payment to get them back out to reconnect the furnace.

I signed up for their card lock service because friend of mine did outside sales. Be cautious about the charges on your account. We were will billed for 7 charges on a card when it was only used once the entire time. It was my own card and after my first use it declined on my second attempt to fill up. I then shredded the card card. After numerous emails, calls, etc... they refused to refund the false charges.

I became a Carson customer when I ran out of oil and my regular oil company (a company my family dealt with since 1950) couldn’t get oil to me for five days. It was winter. I called Carson, they delivered oil the next day, and I have been a happy customer ever since. The employees I have had contact with have all been outstanding. They all seem to love their jobs, which is a high compliment to the management. I have them service my furnace once a year, buy oil from them, and have had estimates for heat pump/new furnace, and I have no complaints whatsoever. I recommend them to anyone who has an oil furnace and needs oil and service.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Called 3 times about the same issue. They deposited my check and then continued to send me past due notices for a month and a half. Called and was told they would look into it and never returned my calls. Definitely look for a company with better customer service.

Carson always has the best prices (believe me, I shop around). But what truly sets them apart is their friendliness. Kevin, the driver, was friendly and knowledgeable. He even remembered where our old oil tank was located before it was decommissioned!

Top shelf service.We were told by a competitor that no one had the motor for our furnace and would probably have to replace the whole thing. We called Carson who got to us very quickly and they had the motor and installed it in a few hours and they even fixed the wiring to the thermostat the previous company said they had fixed twice already.

They accommodated us by making an opening within a short time, as client was recovering from back surgery, and couldnt call sooner, and we feel they did their best, and the delivery lady came early in the morning to get oil to us. Carson is not what they used to be. I have been a loyal Portland customer for OVER TWENTY YEARS. And today I said goodbye because loyalty means nothing to them. I knew all the service techs by name, kept detailed notes, knew the scheduler, the billing department person. They felt like a family to me. I bought oil from them when I first bought my house, I decommissioned my oil tank through them, I bought a top of the line brand new gas furnace and A/C from them. Did regular servicing with them. But this week a woman named Carson, a new hire, called me to follow up on a service tech visit I had. She was slightly rude, somewhat accusatory, inarticulate, and seemed in way over her head. Not typical of their previous customer service at all! It only got worse though, as management insisted on charging me $109 for a service call that wasnt needed (even the service tech alluded to that over the phone with me). So today they lost me and all my future business -- over a measly $109. Goodbye ol friend.

Called Carson based on neighborhoods recommendation. Technician arrives on time and quickly diagnoses that we need a new circuit board and charged me $99. He then told me it should arrive the next day and someone would call me to schedule the install. A week goes by and I have not heard anything so I have to call and find out what is going on. The rep on the phone said he needed to contact the technician to find the part and would return my call to schedule the repair. We schedule the install for two days later however, that morning I receive a phone call that the technician is out sick. I return his call and ask why someone else can not come out and make the repair. The answer is that the part is on the sick technicians truck at home with him and since he did the initial diagnosis no one else could come out. I was then put on a high priority list to receive service the next day. The next day comes and I get a call that another technician is on his way. The technician arrives does a thorough job and fixes the problem. The two stars are for their complete lack of communication with their customers, being quoted one price and then being charged a higher price. I appreciate the new guy (he was great) but due to quality of initial service I amnot happy with the cost and feel some reimbursement should be made for the inconveniences of children without heat for two weeks.

I recently bought a house that did not have AC. After the extremely hot days that we had way too soon in May, I decided to call around and get quotes for installing AC. Carson was the best option for my price budget. They came out five days after I called and setup the appointment. The Carson installer Tom was great! He answered all of my questions that I had. Fast, efficient, and reliable. Carson is able to handle many business needs and I highly recommend them.

My mom is 70 years old. She called to get her furnace taken care of bg because it was making noise i.e. services. She was charged 180.00.The next day it was still making noise and because she didnt state SERVICED they are now coming back out and charging another 180.00 to fix the same problem. Thats a total of 260.00 to do the job that should have been done in the first place. I am not going to let them abuse my mom like this . I will never recommend them unless they fix this problem without the second charge

Kevin was awesome--not only was he super friendly and nice, he knew more than any other oil delivery driver weve ever had. We have a clogged vent pipe that usually makes a mess and causes problems during filling, and weve even been told that it cant be fixed. Kevin knew exactly what to do, kept our yard clean, and told us how to fix the problem. I really appreciated his knowledge and friendliness.

My single experience was enough that i will never use them again. I called to set up an appointment and they scheduled me for the end of the week. They did not come. I called on Monday. They sounded entirely indifferent and even annoyed by the call. They explained that they had had a truck breakdown and it was a busy week. If that was the case, to not even call and simply not show up is terrible customer service. They said they would be there the following day, Tuesday. Once again, no call and no show. I called to ask again what happened amd im told more breakdowns and promises it will be there the next day. It wasnt and no phone call. It came two days later, a week after it was promised. Customer service and communication was rude or nonexistent. I spoke to a friend who ordered in April and had the same experience, excuses and no shows. They ordered again this fall and had the same experience, so apparently this isnt just a bad week for them, this is just how they run. They had 3 different people in the household call on the same day, and each one was given an entirely different reason for the delay. That indicates that either there is a total breakdown in the company communication, or they are simply dishonest.

We were without heat for 5 days, our landlord had called three companies looking for a fix of some kind, and you were the third and you fixed it. The other companies had said there was no hope and it would have to be replaced. Then James showed up, looking like a guy that could fix something and he did. We experienced an electrical surge that knocked out many of the components on our new 2 year-old made in China oil furnace. That was two weeks ago. Carson Oil sells and services these furnaces, but apparently is unable or unwilling to locally stock vital parts that would make repairing the furnaces they sell more timely and convenient to the customer. Parts have to be drop-shipped and over-nighted. Many of the furnace parts are made in China. Defective furnace parts from China average over ten percent defective, an appalling record that Carson Oil apparently deems acceptable.After two weeks and countless phone calls, trip charges, drop charges, excuses, defective parts, and delays, we are still without a furnace. We just spent the last four days in our home near Mt. Hood in near freezing temperatures. . . . . . . the bill that is being presented to us for payment? Over $500 for parts.Carson Oil is the major supplier of home heating oil in the Mt. Hood area and the major furnace repair company with a monopoly on service and repairs. Their business practices cost customers delays, delivery charges, and unreliable defective parts for repairs.What a mess, Carson Oil. In your business model, the customer is dead last.

Called Tuesday to order home heating oil and placed an order to be delivered Thursday. No one showed up. I called and left a message that no one had delivered oil and no one responded on Friday so I called again. They said they couldnt deliver until next week but would honor the price they had previously quoted. So their idea of customer service is that when they dont deliver, I am getting a deal by not having to pay more than the original quote. No delivery, no return call, sorry too busy to deliver until next week but as a screaming deal well charge you the same rate we already quoted you. Who runs a business like this?

The Only two home heating fuel companies Ive ever used Carson or Deluxe home heating fuel. I called Carsons to get a current rate on their home heating fuel per gallon. On Tuesday I called to set up a delivery with Carson. I was told that the oil would be delivered on Wednesday November the 8th. After that conversation about 40 to 45 minutes later I received a call back from the same person from Carson saying that she had received an email saying that all deliveries need to be shut off for Wednesday. That was concerning because she had just told me it will be delivered for Wednesday and I question as to why it had been moved to Thursday and how she not know this when I just spoke to her. She explained that because of the email she had to change it to Thursday. I said okay its nothing else to be done Ill expect a delivery on Thursday. I called today Thursday November 9th just to confirm again that the delivery will be today and what would be the window time of the delivery because no one had called. Now today Carson is saying we dont have you on the schedule for delivery for today Thursday November 9th its for tomorrow November 10th. Our ongoing conversation was when was Carson going to call me and tell me this because I was clearly told that it was going to be delivered on Thursday. We went round and round about the original delivery date scheduled for Wednesday moved it Thursday now moved to Friday There was no type of customer consideration that I have been using Carson for years for them to correct their error not mine me the customer. I am concerned with Carsons because this makes no sense they continue to make scheduling errors for whatever reason but it causes a problem for Me the customers and they do nothing to correct it. Carson might have a lower price per gallon for their home oil however their customer service system causes problems and really creates a lack of trust for them as customer and for their business & follow through & what they said that they were going to do. And also note that the conversation that I had with the person on Tuesday there is no record of it per Carla of today, however I do have phone record on my call log that when I spoke to this Carson and they called me back from a different number that also comes up as Carson that we did have that conversation. I shared this information with the with Carla, Carson rep today and I said why should I believe that its even going to be delivered tomorrow because you have no record of me speaking to your office since Tuesday of this week. They also have the wrong number, it was a landline when we had landline uses years ago which also validates that Ive been using Carsons for years. I updated & corrected that number with the person I spoke to on Tuesday however per Carla w/Carsons, that information was not updated on Tuesday. Carsons had no desire to.remedy their error to me a long standing ,pay in full, customer . Very disappointed with Carsons.

Frustrated. I paid what I thought was a bill, (from my checking account mind you), on my mothers account, only to find out that the balance had been paid in full at the time of the oil delivery. Calling for a refund is worse that pulling teeth. When I called two days after sending the payment, I got an okay no problem. Calling again two weeks later, the same person I talked to acted like she was breaking HIPPA or FERPA by talking to me. Now I have to go have my 90 year old mother call....very frustrating. My family has been a customer, probably my whole life...maybe its time for a change....

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTSUPDATE: I received updated bill from Carson Oil that only reflected $100 paid by me over the course of the last year, when in reality I have records for and have paid at least $850 total. The company has TERRIBLE accounting practices and removed me from heating oil monthly payments account resulting in my inability to order oil right before heating season (see below). NO WONDER THEY REMOVED ME FROM EQUAL MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN IF THEY ONLY HAVE $100 ON FILE FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR.Thanks for responding, but quoting a bunch of policies regarding payments is completely unacceptable given this situation. I HAVE contacted your company and the way I was treated was absolutely unacceptable. I completely understand that any viable company needs to have payment policies, however it means NOTHING if your company cant even keep track of my payments and has ZERO commitment to customer service or accountability. If you care at all about this issue, I would invite you to contact me directly. I already sent a letter to the company requesting a full accounting before I pay a CENT, but received the full and incorrect accounting the next day (the letters must have crossed in the mail), likely as a result of my phone call prior to Thanksgiving.where I was told I owed yet an entirely different amount.Of course I didnt wait to resolve my dispute with you, I had to get heat for my home, where I have kids, pets, etc.. and I didnt trust that it would be resolved in any reasonable timeframe. Additionally, I asked the accounting person if there was anything we could do and the response: We hate people going without heat, but this is our policy.I will not change my rating of this company and a call to the better business bureau is next along with me doing the work of your accounting department by sending you a list of my payments made over the last year, as they only seem to be able to keep track of ONE. I cant imagine what your books look like. Its so bad that I would be concerned about fraud at this point.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++HORRIBLE company HORRIBLE service. DO NOT use this company. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.This company merged with my previous provider. I had a budget payment plan set up with the previous provider. The new company decided RIGHT before heating oil season to change this program. I have been making my payments every month regularly. I have called every month over the summer to pay and NO ONE mentioned it to me. When I called to order oil, they refused to provide it to me unless I came up with $500. I told them I could work out a different payment plan and they said, they didnt want to argue with me. My family may be without any heat while this is resolved as far as they are concerned.I do not trust their accounting procedures. They can never find my account. Their records do not align with mine.I WILL be contacting an attorney.
