On Tuesday went to Staccato Gelato on NW 23rd Ave to place order for my 13 year olds requested birthday cake.Was told I need to order at the NE location where the cakes are made. Called the NE location and placed the order, confirmed it would be available for pickup Thursday between Noon - 9pm and payment taken on pickup.It is 6:30pm on Thursday- there is no cake at the NE Location and the poor worker says only the owner makes them and the “slip was behind other papers”.So disappointed with lack of ownership of a major fail and no attempt to rectify something (eg Gelato?). So now we are happily working with an alternative who is happy to help us.

The mango sorbet was delicious… not too sweet and the flavor tasted very natural. I appreciated the dairy free options. And the decor was fun and quirky. In the cute NE 28th and Glisan area… one of my favorite parts of town to walk around.

I am a huge fan of frozen desserts, so I was excited to find an easily accessible handmade gelato store close to my work. Now I come here at least a couple of times a week.Staccato Gelato is small with a cute, childlike decor and welcoming workers. Ive asked them for recommendations plenty of times and theyve never disappointed me. Their daily selection isnt very large (about twelve gelato options) and a lot of the flavors arent super adventurous. However, they change up their menu every day, so its definitely worth coming multiple times to try different things. My favorites have been the rose petal (which Ive only seen once, unfortunately), the honey lavender, and the pistachio. Everything Ive tried has had a lot of sweet flavors packed into the little cups, and for such a great price.

Yummy unfortunately can’t get taste tests bc of the pandemic (very understandable but unfortunate) turns out I didn’t need one after all bc my flavor was delightful. Its been a couple days but I think I had key lime pie and it was pretty good :)

We were super excited to get some Gelato after dinner but when they gave us our cones I actually thought it was a joke. The serving size is TINY. We got one scoop and when they delivered the cone in the delivery holder, I couldn’t even see anything in my cone until I was looking directly over it. It would be fine if it weren’t 4.00. Super over priced in my opinion. 😢

Tasty, but super expensive for small servings. No samples? Can’t touch the glass because they don’t have enough windex? Have to have your mask on i side? Also, the unfriendly counter person topped off our overall negative experience here. This was our first and (now) last time coming here.

Like the fire before time in the world where monsters roamed. so too does the fire in my heart burn eternal for the cold gelato at staccato gelato.

We like to have what we call a Pizzicato Staccato Gelato night -- great pizza down the street followed by homemade ice cream here!

We love this Gelato Bar & have been coming here for years. They make the most wonderful flavors ... both gelato & sorbet 🍧🍦🥧

Our familys favorite summer biking destination for an evening excursion with a wee treat. It started when our oldest was in a bike seat behind Mom . . . and now hes biking the 4-mile roundtrip by himself. So many memories made here. :-)

Just visiting Portland for a few days, and we wanted some fun dessert. This hit the spot! There were plenty of appetizing gelato flavors, and all reasonably priced. The coffee was hot and strong. I cant speak for the donuts, but they looked great. The atmosphere was relaxed and there were board games available for guests. Definitely a fun little place for coffee and something sweet.

Espresso chip is amazing! Paired with a maple donut was a great combo with a great price! Cant wait to come back.

We have gotten two gelato cakes here int he last year. They were great, and tastefully and carefully decorated. The gelato is great, the donuts are great, the staff is super courteous.

The coconut canard sorbet gelato is life changing. I had to buy a full pint even after eating a couple scoops. Chocolate sorbet was also pretty good.Matt was a great gelato artist.

Decent gelato spot with a small assortment of fairly standard flavors. No vegan options that I could discern. They also have a small selection of good quality donuts. I enjoyed the chocolate/maple stripe donut, which are two things that I always thought should be together on a donut.

My go-to with or without kids on a hot day. I dont intend to, but I always come out with a couple donuts as well as gelato. Trying to only bike here to counter the extra calories since that seem more doable than holding back on the delicious cakieness.

It was good but I wish there were more flavors. Also thought the scoops were kinda tiny. Cool that they have donut holes, too. The girl working was very friendly. Cute outdoor tables, too.

Staccato Gelato has turned me into a regular customer. I love how often new flavors come around. The owner is always smiling, and enjoys talking about the fresh ingredients he uses to make the gelato.The flavors have a lot of intensity to them, so every bite is as good as the first. I have had over a dozen flavors, and enjoyed every one of them.The prices are very reasonable. You can get several flavors in one cup, which I highly recommend because they are all delicious.They also have donuts and donut holes in different flavors. I typically end up getting some donut holes as well because they are hard to pass up.I really enjoy Staccato Gelato, and hope everyone else gets as hooked as I am.

My partner and I LOVE this place! In addition to traditional flavors, they tend to have some like Thai Iced Tea and Basil (both delicious). Good prices, good service. I guess they do cakes, which I havent tried yet, but I think I will next birthday.

Just had gorgeous latte here with my daughter. She had a chocolate gelato cone and spontaneously declared this is the best cone Ive ever had. Shes had a LOT of cones . Make sure you try this place and support our local businesses

First time having Gelato and it was delicious! They have free samples to try different flavors. Employees are nice. The Gelato was so smooth, creamy, and flavorful!

My daughter & I just found this place on a girls day out. We enjoyed the lemon, marionbery & chocolate sorbets as we can not have dairy. The lemon was fantastic and tart and they have it everyday. We loved it! We will definitely be back.

Only place I can find thai iced tea gelato. Staff are really friendly. Theres even a play area for the little ones

Gelato is amazing...however, the donuts. I went with the French crueller and it taste and smells as if it was fried in reused fish oil. First and last time I try a donut from there. Definitely going back for the gelato!

I wasnt all that impressed with the gelato like I thought I was going to be. To be honest, I felt like I was eating just regular ice cream (as far as texture/creaminess goes), and the flavor (pistachio) was pretty bland compared to others Ive had. Very friendly staff, clean establishment, and because they have board games and other activities, it seems like a fun place to bring the kids/friends/spouse for a fun outing.

Very yummy, I got the two vegan options they had - coconut and lemon something. Both were so good and I thought it was reasonably priced as well. Ive been here before and will definitely be back.

A lot of delicious options! Every flavor to sweet to savory to unique flavors like Rose! Excellent iced coffee, pleasant service and overall nice atmosphere.

This place serves the best espresso in the neighbourhood. The service never gives me cause for complaint. The chocolate sorbet makes phenomenal affogato. I never get sick of Staccato.

The great flavors here make me wish i could afford to visit Portland more often. Splurge on one of the less-heard-of flavors--youll be surprised and delighted!

Uncrowded even on hot days when better-known frozen-treat shops have super long lines. Why? I dont know, because this stuff is seriously tasty. Also the shops name is fun to say.

Great flavors ... Really yummy gelato. Even smaller less expensive service would be nice for low income families. Parking is a little challenging.

The atmosphere and ambiance is charming and quaint, the donut holes are a welcome and tasty surprise, and it wasnt at all crowded. The gelato wasnt terribly good, though. If youre in the neighborhood, its worth a stop, but I wouldnt recommend going out of your way to go there.

Ordered a 12oz macchiato and got 4oz of burnt coffee and nothing else. She seemed nice, but I didnt notice what she gave me until I left the shop.

It was pretty good. Had the smallest portions Ive ever seen. Cute.

Gelato was good, as youd expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the doughnuts. I dont usually like cake doughnuts, but these were nice and fluffy, good flavors, and amazingly fresh for 9pm. We played board games and had hot chocolate, which was good, too, and spent less overall than we would have at other ice cream shops.

We were visiting a relative at the hospital. Decided to get some geleto.They were only about 6 minutes away.When we arrived they werent to buzy.The counter lady was friendly and very accommodating with the samples of the flavors.The size of the scoops are a little small,but the price is in the range of their competitors. 3 scoops for $5.00. Ordered,strawberry lemonade, creamsicle,espresso,stracciatella,chocolate and lemon sorbet.The place looked clean.My only negative would be,at shift change,a male employee who had just arrived on a bike,placed it in the back,got ready to work,with his back to us washed his hands,but could see a large amount of sweat soaking through his back of shirt,from riding his bike.I would recommend changing it before working in the future.The geleto was awesome,we will be back.

We visit frequently after dinner out or a movie. Love their assorted flavors like Turmeric, Marionberry, Pistachio, Blood Orange. Gelato cakes are great too - ordered one for my Aug bday party. I am a devotee of their cardamom donuts.

Literally the best gelato and donuts Ive ever had. I usually dont care for donuts... but dang! These were amazing! Theres a variety of gelato flavors, too, so if you want something fancy or just something ordinary (but oh so delicious) like vanilla, youll find it. And the coffee was great, too! Everything was reasonably priced, also, so that was awesome. Definitely coming back here.

Good product, awful service. The girl there had the nerve to ask were you on the phone with a bunch of 7-year old? When I was simply asking my fiance what flavor he wanted. We didnt even inconvenience her and allowed the other customers to go before us. I dont understand what her reasoning is, but it obviously doesnt exist. Great product, worst service I have experienced from their employee, Acia.I can always get a good product else where. So I dont need to go back to a place where customers are treated like their paycheck.

This place had a good product, and appeared nice from the outside, but one of their employees Acia or Asia, however she may spell her name. She provided the worst service I have ever received. She was rude, impatient, abrupt and disrespectful. She even sarcastically said that oh, I do love my job. I found this sarcastic, because she said it right after a negative comment...This places worst employee. I dont understand whats wrong with her, but she ruined my experience and my friends and I will never go back.

The gelato flavors were so fresh you could taste it; the Raspberry Pomegranate Lime and Mint Chocolate Chip flavors were excellent. No doughnuts were tasted today, but considering the reviews - and my own experience - I think its likely a second visit is in my future.
