I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon to see what options this shop had for cheese after reading great things about the location. The space is small and they want to limit the number of folks inside, so we did have to wait in line for a little to get in, but it was worth it! They had so many cheese options and a lot of them were different and unique. We were able to get a 1/4 pound to snack on while we sat a brewery and enjoy some of the other snacks. Folks inside were friendly and the pricing was reasonable. Id recommend a stop in!

These folks are super friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about everything they stock. They have yet to lead me astray with a recommendation! Tons and tons of good stuff, even beyond the cheeses. Very easy to leave with an armful of food treasure.

I swung by the Cheese Shop 1 minute after closing, but as I was walking away with the look of a sad puppy, a staff member unlocked the door and shouted come on in! Lucky for me, because this place has some truly unique and phenomenal cheeses, along with hors doeuvres and other snacks. Youll likely walk out a tad bit poorer and a whole lot happier.

The greatest selection of cheeses, cured meats, breads and delicatessen you are going to find in Portland. You can order a freshly made sandwich with the products you picked. Small but nice selection of wine. Nice place to buy delicatessen products as presents. Try their new pistachio spread!

LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is very knowledgable and the prices are great. You can grab as much or as little as you want since they fresh cut the cheese for you! They have a ton of wine, sandwiches, and accompaniments. A must stop on your crawl through Portland.

Lovely place to learn about and see a variety of cheeses! I came in asking for several recommendations and asked what kinds of cheeses are good for lactose intolerant people. The woman who helped us asked what kind of allergy was it, based on cows milk or lactose itself. We learned quite a bit and left with about 4 cheeses for our charcuterie board!

Will was more than accomodating. This guy knows cheese, step into this container based establishment where youll find some of the best from local creamerys such as Spring Day in Durham alongside some fine imports. There is a number of items in house from beer to pasta, or you can order a famous ham and butter on a baguette from Standard Baking Co. They also stock some beautiful breads fresh daily from Night Moves Bakery in Biddeford.It doesnt get much more Portland than this, local people supporting local food. We look forward to coming back time and time again. 6 stars if I could.

Stopped in for some pick-me-ups on a dreary Saturday. Walked away with some great wine and cheese to match, picked with the help of some really cool people who were easy to talk to and clearly very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

I’m obsessed with the cheese shop. My fiancé and I go somewhat regularly to get supplies for wine and cheese night. We know nothing about cheese but we love it and the staff always gives great recommendations and are super friendly. Definitely on the pricy side but you get what you pay for.

Not not fancy but completely unpretentious. Really great product, wonderful and knowledgeable staff. If you want to show up to a dinner with wine cheese and others to impress, this place is a guarantee.

This place is perfection! Simply walking through the door makes my day better. The sandwiches are amazing, they always have the best and most fun desserts, and the store has incredible offerings. I love the curation of items. Its clear they put a ton of time and thought into getting the best stuff and I hope they take a lot of pride in putting together such a wonderful shop!

Fantastic selection from local and European (small) producers, particularly for the cheese and antipasti. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly.

One of my favorite shops in Portland! Wonderful selection of wine and cheese, fun and welcoming aesthetics, and zero pretension to be found anywhere. If you dont know much at all about wine and cheese (like myself) the owners are always excited and happy to help you find what you are looking for. Id highly suggest checking this place out of you havent made it in yet.

A little pricey, but they have great quality cheese and meat. Lots of other good stuff too, like spreads and wine.

The chickpea feta sandwich was delicious! Popcorn they had was tasty too. It’s a small store and they were doing a very good job of managing capacity to make sure it was safe for social distancing.

This place is a cheese heaven! Owners and staff are super knowledgeable to the point that they can name a cow who gave milk for a particular cheese ;-) you get a great selection from the world’s best cheeses and also get an opportunity to buy some flavorful additions for a great charcuterie board. You can also get some local foods (crackers, baked goods) there and drinks. Buy local!

Not a bad boutique cheese shop. A little pricey and the staff seemed to be a bit all over the road. One of the cheeses we bought was very moldy (yes I know its cheese) i spent a fair amout of time cutting away and discarding portions of a 20.00 piece of cheese. Maybe had 11 dollars of it left. The other half wheel was decent, but nothing to justify the price.They do have local, but not much Maine cheese.

I was overwhelmed with the amount of incredible products in the store, but the staff were extremely accommodating and kind, and I so excited to try all the cheeses and wine I got!

Great little shop! The guys behind the counter were fun to talk to. It was great getting their insight into their favorite cheeses and why. Came back home with a delicious Gouda and cheddar selection.

It’s a very elaborate shop. Everything is OK ...but the burrata is very terrible! The first, This is going to expire（I bought it on the 20th , but the owener did not give any hints, fortunately, I eat today!）So the burrata touches hard ！This has no cheese flavor and tastes as cotton wadding! !

We are all Americans, lets start acting like that instead of turning our country into a place where people are asked to show their papers in order to travel freely. Many people seem to be forgetting that important point as they allow fear and politics to cloud their ability to access risk. You may feel your decision is justified but please know the cost is a lifetime boycott as I will never set foot in any business you own again.

Knowledgeable staff, helped me find the exact cheeses for my taste. They have lots of fun crackers and local greens and such, as well as some really nice charcuterie and ready made gourmet salads. Great local, small business!

A fresh, clean and delicious experience. Will helped us select the right cheese for a Lone Pine Brewery do-it-yourself pairing. Coupled that with some Mill Cove crackers for a great time. Knowledgeable and friendly team/owners with fantastic goods.

Great selection and helpful staff

I have been here twice to get a sandwich for lunch. Both times I was happy with my choice. The first one was a ham and butter on baguette! Outrageous for sure. They have a grab and go option as well as a daily special. Parking can be a challenge but it’s worth a circle around or a walk.

I couldn’t have been more impressed with the selection and customer service! This couple is so helpful and sweet and if you’re able to grab a sandwich while you’re in...DO IT! My husband and I agreed this was the best meal we’ve had between a week in Boston and Portland. I can not recommend highly enough!

If you can get in here, they have a great cheese selection. The line/waiting game can get obnoxious when each staff member is socially chatting with customers. Around Christmas time is not the first time to try this place if you are not a patient line waiter. Call ahead if you are looking for something particular, they always seem to be out of what we are looking for, especially already-prepared fondue cheese. They do charcuterie boards, which I found out around Christmas time. They looked amazing, and Im sure they tasted great too.

Lovely space and people. They could not have been friendlier or more informative. The cheeses are unique and delicious and there’s so much great stuff in there to pair with. I can’t wait to go back and try one of their grilled cheese sandwiches!

We love this place!!! We just went there for the first time and the owner gave us free cheese samples and helped us find the perfect ingredients for our charcuterie for a party we were attending that day. The cheese was DELICIOUS! The owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Incredible Green Machine grilled cheese and artichoke aioli sandwich hot off the panini press. Delicious! Still thinking about it. Was best grilled cheese sandwich Id ever tasted!

Delicious sandwiches. High end, warm and friendly service to go with high end product. The owners are truly sweet. Of course its pricey, but to be expected. Wanna try something out? Ask and they will sample it ALL for you. Id probably come here to get a charcuterie for a dinner party or even grab a sandwich for work that day. It is a wonderful addition to Washington ave/munjoy hill area. Loooooving this place.

Nice assortment

The cheeses we bought on recommendations were not good. We suspect from the taste that they may have been spoiled by being left in direct sunlight out of refrigeration, but they also might have just been terrible. We found a few things we liked, but we can get equivalent or better versions for less elsewhere.Its a beautiful shop, the staff was very friendly, and we may go back to try some other things, but we were disappointed by our first visit and ended up throwing away most of the cheese we bought.
