First bottle shop I found open on Christmas Eve. The other two in north Portland didn’t care to be open. I wanted to support a small business with my beer and cider purchase today and not New Seasons or Freddys. He was open, and im happy to support the small businesses who need it. Now I have a delicious stout and cider for my Holliday fondue recipe. He has sunshine, go get a drink and some vitamin D!

This place has a great selection of wines and drinks. We were greeted by an amazingly friendly staff and helped out to find our drinks. Great place to drink and chill.

Not only does this place have a great selection of things to drink, and a lovely outdoor patio, but they have the absolute nicest gal on staff working for them - she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I only wish I’d left a bigger tip for her - so we’ll have to come back another time soon! Try this wine bar - you will not be disappointed!

Great place to relax and hang out (especially if this fricking pandemic ever ends). Service is friendly and folks especially the owner are knowledgeable. Great game nights (Timbers, Blazers). Drink selection is very well curated; prices are a little higher than elsewhere but that gets you more interesting things to try. Grab something while waiting for takeout from the nearby awesome restaurants or eat your snacks at Prospect.

Never had a more unpleasant experience at a bar/shop. I was browsing, trying to figure out what to buy, until the bartender started looking at me suspiciously and repeatedly grilled me about what I was doing there. Felt entirely unwelcoming and rude.

Do not go here. We showed up and got asked to leave because a member of our party was not drinking and the rest of us did not meet the “$16 minimum” so they told us they were going to call the cops on the member of our party not drinking or charge us $16. I’m pretty sure this “minimum” is completely made up. Incredibly rude

Amazing selection and GREAT service. I accidentally bought the wrong drinks and they told me to come back no problem. I’ve been back three times since and have made it a usual place for my week pick me up. Go here and you won’t be disappointed!

If your looking for rude service, this is the place! Attempted to buy some bottles here and were told the items we selected were too cheap and needed to leave because we weren’t worth their time. Kicked us out with full drinks poured! Wouldn’t even let us finish.

A cozy neighborhood place perfect for hanging out and enjoying a fine selection of wines and the best Oregon beers - on tap or from the coolers. Cheese plates and other accompaniments available, too. Outdoor patio on an interesting street, i.e. good people-watching. Youll be especially pleased with your experience if the owner is working when you visit. An awesome choice if you like supporting high-quality hard-working small local businesses!

Was on the side walk outside taking my mask out of my bag today and an effeminate male waiter started yelling at me that I need to stay further away from the tables on the sidewalk unless I have a mask on. There was no need to yell or try to publicly shame me. He could of asked of just asked polietly. He then kept a close eye on me after I put my mask on like I was a homeless guy who was going to bother the guests.

I asked the man behind the bar for a recommendation to bring to Ox for a group dinner. He immediately poured me 3 tastes of wine, each district and delicious in its own way. The one I chose was reasonably priced, tasty, complimented our meal, and enjoyed my dinner companions. I would highly recommend prospect to anyone looking for a good wine shop. I havent yet eaten there, but plan to as soon as time will permit.

Went there on my birthday with my roommate.. we ordered two glasses of wine. For 28$! Seriously? Then, I went to go just purchase the bottle before I left and it was 19$. She never once mentioned that. The women who was working was awful, no knowledge of the wine they had set out or any beer. Never going back. Save your money!! Total rip off.

What a nightmare. Got a bottle delivered and it turned out to be the wrong bottle, like very wrong. I called kindly to ask for a refund and was met berated with name calling and criticisms. THEN, not only was I not refunded, I was charged for more than the original amount again and got a call from my credit card company as it was expected (and indeed) fraud. What a mess.

Laurent. Best. Person. Ever. You need to come visit this place just to support this gem!! First of all, he was very welcoming of customers from the next door Thai restaurant (Hat Yai), which was pretty cool to see this camaraderie amongst businesses during COVID. Basically, Hat Yai customers can sit in the outdoor seating area outside of Prospect - and they are encouraged to buy a drink or two, but Laurent wasn’t pushy about that at all.Laurent was very friendly and HILARIOUS!!!! We were getting pretty giggly after the 3rd sample of wine and he made us roll off our chairs from laughter. He really enhanced our Portland trip and made us fall in love with the city even more.He also opened our eyes to new types of wine; we have previously only had moscatos and wow, we were really missing out!!Really enjoyed the wine and Laurent’s humor. Will definitely come back and I highly recommend you to give this place a try. The bar and the owner are definitely Portland staples!

Very generous of Prospect Bottleshop to allow a six top to order Thai food next door and sit in Prospects space. Prospect has the better beer and wine selection and plays well with the take out Thai food customers. The boss was very accommodating and I was very impressed how two establishments can work together to deliver an awesome Friday night. Highly recommended for both establishments and especially Prospect for someone who gets it.

I have a feeling Prospect will soon become one of my favorite spots in close-in NE. Laurent has created a warm and comfortable space with great wines and beers that you dont taste everyday. He made me feel welcomed the moment I walked in the door, and went out of his way to make sure our evening was at the very least pleasant. He epitomizes host.Thank you!

This shop is amazing! I live down the street so I usually come in here once or twice a week. The employees at this shop really know wine - they always make great recommendations based on what Im in the mood for, and when I come in they often remember what I bought last time. The prices are good as well, and they always have new wines in stock to try out. Fantastic addition to the neighborhood.

A favorite neighborhood spot for a draught beer or a glass of wine. I also love the small plates, particularly the cheese board. The staffers are friendly and knowledgeable, and all are engaging conversationalists. If you want to grab a bottle of wine for dinner, or some tasty beers for home, you can do that, too! Im very grateful to have Prospect in the neighborhood - a drop-in spot I can hit thats not on Alberta Street!

Amongst the best bottle shops in Portland! I walked into this place on a Saturday evening, heard A Tribe Called Quest on the sound system, and was warmly welcomed by the owner Adam. He is always most helpful in finding the perfect beer, wine or cider for my mood. Stop in for a bottle of wine or beer to go, or stay at the bar or atmosphere and conversation.

You can always rely on this friendly bottle shop and bar for great suggestions in beer and wine. The owner is by far the most fun Ive experienced. He always has great taste in his selections; whether its a crisp German Pilsner, a fine red wine to go with cheese, or even a dark stout, the recommendations are always spot on. Hang out and have a conversation with friends, for youll feel as comfortable as if you were in your own home.

Stopped in through Portland for a few night for work and found this neighborhood gem! Was pleasantly surprised with the staff and selection. Seattle needs more bottle-shops like this.

Low key, good selection of both beers and wine. Just a chill local spot to grab a good beverage.

Laurent provides a nice selection of wines other beverages. We tasted a couple if wines , very nice. Local & imported. Reasonably priced and a great casual spot. Having recently visited Stoller Winery - very nice but the bottle shop is a brief walk. We picked up a nice red from Nimes & Tempranillo.
