We had a fantastic time getting a tour of their beer making process! Emmett, our tour guide, was excellent. We sampled a flight of four beers, all of which had not been released to the stores yet. Ill definitely go back!

We visited while in Portland from VT. When we arrived at Geary’s they had just finished their last tour of the day but when our host Mike learned we were from out of state he gave us an extra, private tour. We used a living social coupon that included a tour, two flights and two pint glasses. Mike was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and personable. He answered all of our questions and was clearly dedicated to us having a great experience! Mike talked with us to find out what we liked and had us try different beers based on our preferences, even going to find a sample of a beer that was out of stock because he thought we would enjoy it! Between our two flights we tried all eight beers that they had on tap and they truly were all delicious! The atmosphere of the tasting room was friendly and intimate and again all of the staff were so welcoming and generous. This was an absolutely amazing experience and we can’t wait to go back next time we visit!

Go figure, this is the oldest brewery east of the Mississippi! You wouldnt know it by the building and laid back feel. They recently opened their tasting room, and even that seems like its an afterthought. Dont get me wrong, you should make this a stop if you want to meet some really knowledgable and friendly folk and try their really good brews. Their beer is very drinkable and I mean that in a good way. English style beer, nothing way out there which is nice. Easy to pair this beer with just about any food. Reminds me of Evolution brewery in Maryland, easy beer to drink and get to love.

Go to where it all began in New England for craft beer breweries. Summer Ale is a must to take home. Beer staff great to chat about their history and whats next for them.I would like a larger tap room and more selections on tees.

Good beer. Kristen was super friendly and knowledable about the history and types of beer served here. Very cool dude to have a conversation with. First time i was there there was a food truck outside and live music with backyard games. The second time it was empty but i took my own food and had a few beers. They had a very good deal on groupon. $17 gave you 2 flights of beer and a pair of glasses.Thank you Kristen

Great traditional brews here and friendly service. Its nice to see where it all started here in Maine is still going strong and has paved the way for many local breweries.

Very friendly & personable staff. All 6 beers on tap were Delicious. Of the 6, 4 were from Pilot Kegs, limited to just a few Kegs brewed. Definitely check this place out.

Definitely worth a visit especially for its historic relevance. Its one of the first craft breweries in the country serving authentic English ales. They also brew a beer based on a recipe from Benjamin Franklin.

In the midst of many brewerys, many of which brew modern style beers that are hop foot forward, D.L. Geary Brewing makes malty English ales that cut the repetitive hoppy floral beers of the other Portland tap rooms. If youre looking for a traditional beer that doesnt lack in flavor its a must stop.

Arrived to the tap room at 1215pm on Sunday 11/4 and found that the Sunday hours are 2 to 5. However the hours on the website say open 12 to 5 on Sundays....Very disappointed.
