Ive been going to this store since I was a kid quick service. loyal to their loyal customers such as they just locked their door and I walked up and they unlocked it and let me in their lights are already off and everything.but their parking lot however a lot of safety issues with the Westbrook one Portland won a heaven been to more than a handful of times but its the same workers so same great service parking lots bigger so probably not an issue over there

The store has a great variety! Very clean and well set up.The prices are very competitive with the other beverage stores in the area. The associates were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We found a Jacks Abbey variety my husband was eagerly looking for. Worth the drive down Forrest Avenue!

Friendly, helpful staff, good selection of craft beer. Limited singles but decent options. They also offer a grab bag beer if you are looking to take the agony out of choosing and just want to know you have a picked a good craft beer.

Excellent service very knowledgeable fellows. After traveling and experiencing wines from different regions, it is refreshing to find a place that provides a fun variety of wines for different occasions at reasonable prices.

This is a very good place to get most alcoholic beverages. I found some twisted teas here that I never knew existed. The people are friendly and the prices are very fair! They did have a beer and wine tasting there every week but due to the virus it has stopped. Hopefully they start it back up soon but well see...🍺🍻🥂🍹

Friendly discount supplied the beer and wine for my wedding and they were so easy to work with. Sam picked some excellent varieties of wine that were very reasonable priced. The whole process was very organized and Sam was always available for phone calls if I had questions or concerns. Highly recommend using them for any events. Thanks guys!

Other than the name being a misnomer (read: there aren’t any friendly discounts here nor are there discounts for friends as far as I can tell), Friendly Discount Beverage is a decent enough package store, specifically if you’re into red wine or if you’re just looking to grab a 6-er of tall boys from some of the larger, more established local breweries in and around Portland. You can find at least three much better options both in terms of boozy wares variety and boozy wares price point without even leaving Forest Ave, with one of them being only a bottle cap flick away.

What an excellent experience! Sam and his team at Friendly Discount always have the most friendly smile when I walk through the door and are extremely helpful. I come to this store specifically because of the variety of options of beer and wine, not matter what my occasion. I always feel welcome when I walk through the doors!

My go-to spot to buy beer when I come home. No liquor, so youll have to look elsewhere for that. Carry lots of special craft stuff plus macro. The owner regularly buys out stock of beer that the distributors are trying to get rid of to make room for new stock, and he passes much of that savings on to the customer! Always great to get a twelve pack for 8 bucks or so

I go here for the cigars. They always have Nubs, Don Tomas, and if Im feeling particularly spend-all-my-money -- Cohibas. The owner is a great guy and will talk to you about your cigar and wine choices, making welcoming recommendations. The prices of cigars is very reasonable, and you can usually get a Churchill for around $10. I dont drink, but I have also found de-alcoholized wine, which was very great and will be nice for the holidays. My wife loves the local beer selection, which is huge by the way. They do tastings every once and awhile, and they usually have great wine or beer to go along with it. Its a very convenient location, right off of Forest. So happy to have this place so close!

I loved that they mixed 4-packs from a brewery, so you could try several.

One of the better more curatorial bear selections in town with a nice selection of limited single bottles that change with the seasons and always have some interesting and thoughtful craft brews

Visited this store on a trip to Portland last weekend. I met the owner, Sam, who helped me find some great Maine beer to try. As a Vermonter, and a craft beer store employee myself, I was very impressed with the selection of amazing beer. This will be a built-in stop for me each time I visit Portland!
