Re-Born Automotive provided great quality service for excellent value. I had my axels replaced on my Subaru and I couldnt be happier. I plan to use Re-Born for all of my cars upkeep and maintenance in the future.

We are return customers of Re-Born and will continue to use them on all of our cars that they can service. The shop is clean, they are fast and thorough and genuinely seem to know and love their work. They do not do what is not needed and prices seem to be more than fair. They are not convenient for us but worth fighting traffic for.

Re-Born was able to do an oil change on the spot. Upon checking out, when I said that I had been told (when I had had my tires replaced by another company that morning) that my oil was very low, the response was, older cars burn oil; come back in when youre half-way through the oil change cycle and we will top off your oil. Thats what I call good service!

Over the years, Reborn has performed almost all of these services listed above on my 2002 CRV, and I have been totally happy with the results and the reasonable expense. I trust them completely to check the car for routine maintenance and then let me know if there is something that needs to be fixed and the cost to do it. They have showed me what may need attention in the future, like brakes that were wearing down but not enough to warrant replacement yet. They do not pressure you in any way. The work done on the car has been done well and communication is prompt and thorough. Give them a try!

Ive gone to Reborn for 20+ years, since they were at the previous location, after doing a search at the old Car Talk website. Theyve always done solid work, and with this last (used) car, looked it over for me before I bought it. Finding a nice, 3 yr old, lightly used car that performs good as new has, just by itself, more than paid for whatever Ive spent there. And with my previous car, also used, at 10 yrs and 110,000 miles they basically took out the whole engine, soaked all the parts clean, and put them back in, a $450 service that made it once again run good as new. I like driving a nice car but I get very cranky about having to spend more than necessary for the privilege. If Im happy with Reborn, you probably will be too!

This was my first time at Re-Born Automotive. I took a car that I bought used in to them because I thought it had a front wheel bearing going out. They did a full vehicle inspection and let me know that no it wasnt the wheel bearing but the hum I heard might be the tires since they were worn pretty far down. Our family has used Reborn Automotive for several decades! They’ve provided knowledgeable and excellent service on a consistent basis. Maintenance or repair problems were solved quickly and efficiently. And when we were ready to purchase a new vehicle, we asked for their recommendations, knowing they had an up to date understanding on the latest models of vehicles we preferred. They were very accommodating. I needed to get my car looked at while at work, and I had surgery the next day so I wouldnt have been able to pick it up. I dropped off my car in the morning, and I was able to arrange someone else to pick it up for me the next day since it needed to stay overnight. I also liked how I was given the option to accept or reject each item of recommended service after diagnostics.

Amazing experience with the team here. Prices were very fair, staff is incredibly communicative and knowledgeable and were very patient in answering all my questions.I also was late in picking up my car and they kindly stayed open 10mins past closing. Can’t recommend enough!

Came for a pre-purchase mechanical inspection on my 2014 Smart Twofor. Sat in the waiting room (comfortable and well-appointed) so got to observe and overhear their great rapport with their customers. Everyone I saw left as a happy customer. I ended up buying the Smart car that afternoon, wiser to its couple of small problems that can be inexpensively repaired.

I have been going to Re-Born for about two years now and continue to be impressed with the teams professionalism, quality of service, honesty and integrity in their work. During the recent heat wave, my A/C went. I first took my car to the dealer as I live close by and wanted to see if I could get a quick diagnosis and evac and recharge on the ac. They quoted me a $1700 compressor replacement and did not even do an evac and recharge on the system. I called Re-Born and was able to get a quote for worst case scenario if it was indeed the compressor, which was $1200 less than the dealer estimate. After having my car serviced at Re-Born, they found that my A/C just needed an evac and recharge! They completed some other routine work and I was on my way. Honestly, these people are lovely.The first time I dropped off my car, it was because this was the closest location to work. Ive since changed jobs three times and moved to a different neighborhood, and I cant imagine going anywhere else. Ive been going in for their 5,000 mile checkups regularly since 2016, and I have always gotten an honest report with fair prices, and fast turn around times. The customer service has always been friendly and non-judgemental. I dont expect to take my car anywhere else any time soon. Especially now that they use an online task approval system.

Absolutely 100% recommend this place! They do a great job, and they explain everything they will be doing fully. I didn’t feel cheated or pressured to do any repairs, and I’m a pushover so that happens with mechanics! I feel so safe in my vehicle now, thanks y’all! Extremely knowledgeable, professional staff. As I mainly work on my own vehicles, I rarely have the need to visit a repair shop. However, the sudden failure of one of my front brake calipers prompted the usual calling around to find the best quote. Re-Born struck my attention almost immediately by correctly pointing out that the replacement of one brake caliper required replacement of both the left and right side; other shops were quoting me for one caliper replacement, leaving out this important detail. Jim was very honest in telling me that I was requesting their services at a busy time for the shop. Despite this, the job was done way earlier than expected. When the need arises, I will be returning to Re-Born in the future.

I live in San Francisco, CA and I was visiting my daughter when my Catalytic Converters on my 2009 Chevy Traverse LT became clogged and needed some attention so I was told. Reborn Automotive, Inc. was recommended by the Lobby attendant at the Rivers Edge Hotel I was staying at. When I approached the Auto-shop Jim helped me every step of the way and seemed to want to go out of his way for me, even if it had no personal benefit to him other than being an amazing human being. Anyhow I was left with a decision to leave my car in his hands as I traveled back to S.F. He originally quoted me a figure for the job and we signed off and they began the work and I finished my Vacation and rented a vehicle and drove home. When the part came in, it turns out that he quoted me the incorrect amount and it was actually more expensive. However, after our lovely conversation, he spoke to his colleagues and came up with a plan to charge me at cost and meet me halfway. Which I was thankful for, because it saved me a couple hundred bucks. Every step of the way I was informed on the progress of my vehicle. Even though I was hundreds of miles away, I felt and knew that my vehicle was in good hands.I would easily recommend him to anybody who needs a repair as Jim is professional and a delight to work with. My vehicle was running lean and the first mechanic I went to said the diagnosis was to replace all four injectors for $1000 because they didnt know which one had the issue. I took it for a second opinion at Reborn Automotive in Portland and they cleaned off my O2 sensor... and sent me on my way. My vehicle is now running perfectly (for days). I feel like the O2 sensor should have been the first thing they checked; I dodged a bullet on that $1000 bill because of Reborn-- Thank You!Also had very kind staff and a large clean waiting room.

Re-Born saved us - we were on the last day of our Vacation and ready to head back to Santa Cruz that night when the Alternator went out on our vehicle! I have been plagued with car problems all my life, with every car Ive ever had, so I have been to many shops in the Portland area since I started driving in 2002! Both Jim and Hans at Re-Born Automotive were so professional, kind, and communicative. They helped me to understand what was going on, and get the issues resolved. They were able to get my car in a condition to pass DEQ and took care of the emissions test which was a relief. I will be returning to them in the future, although hopefully not anytime soon :)

Great experience with this shop. I called around shops near me and choose Re-Born Automotive because they sounded friendly and knowledgeable and didnt give me attitude about the mods I made to my car. I replaced some suspension hardware on my VW Golf to install big brakes and lowering springs and the car needed an alignment afterward. Well they did a fantastic alignment job on my VW Golf and provided a alignment report showing the changes and now the car drives spot-on. Totally recommend this shop.

First off this business does an excellent job on communicating with their customers. They are very welcoming and will give you a run down on what was fixed or what needs to be fixed. Even after driving back to my hometown in MN they went out of there way to hand write a thanks for stopping in. So +A for that.Besides that, this place can be a bit spendy compared to other mechanics. Maybe MN prices are different from Oregon, but I ended up paying $400 more than if I went back to MN to get my car worked on there.Not only that but theyll charge you extra for something simple as testing your alternator. And if you want to save any money with any discounts you will have to do that research and be vocal about it yourself. After they gave me the bill I had to remind them that I was a AAA member to get a few bucks off from my bill.Overall its a good business, the people are nice, but the services can add up if youre not careful in researching parts and discounts.

Incredible out of this world customer service! I have an older car and there was no issue with them fixing her up. Nice gentlemen answered my questions, texted me updates on my car, and did a great job! Will look over your car and make suggestions, but not rude or pushy about what needs to be done. I think my car came back cleaner than when I brought it in. Very reasonable prices, especially for this level of service.
