I took my 2010 Ford Escape to another shop to have the ac inspected. They told me it was the evap core and it would cost $1400.00 to fix. So I took the time to shop around and found gateway auto . They said it would cost $1100 to fix. They ran a test and found out it was the ac condenser. The fix it and charged me $545.00 glad I didn’t take it to the other shop. Denny was great. Thank you all. Worst repair shop I have ever been to, this repair shop same one on movie vacation! I have dealt with several hundred mechanics as parts guy. The S10 ran much worse after I brought in and I was not aloud to do a test drive with mechanical so it just going on? When I was finally able to leave my possessions in car where left unlocked,it hardly would start and the service writer thought it was funny when the door was left unlocked in a bad neighborhood? There is a spot on Oregon.Gov to file a complaint with the Attorney General Office if you have a problem with this shop. This response does not make any sense, Please contact me through the Attorney Generals Office,I dont think leaving the door unlocked in a bad neighborhood filled with my possessions is funny?

I do a lot of my own mechanic work, but if theres anything I havent felt comfortable tackling, Ive taken it to John. On multiple occasions hes indicated that the problem I suspected was NOT the problem and in fact it would cost me LESS money to fix the actual problem. A mechanic telling you that you get to spend less money is priceless. I cannot recommend John enough.

I have taken my 1993 Mitsubishi diamante wagon here several times and they have always come in under the estimated amount. The repairs are good and they always communicate if something changes.I have always had a good experience here.John the owner is one of the only truly honest mechanics I have come across

This place is very bad, rude people, told me theres a oil leak in my car but couldnt tell me where it is. We went to different shop ,absolutely no oil leak

If there was a 10 star option, I would have chosen it for this mechanic shop. I had had my turbo replaced, out of state, and took my car to them when I got back into town. My turbo was a faulty part and John and Pete worked hard to settle the warranty, only to have the replacement turbo faulty as well. Long story short, my car spent 4 months at their shop with no turbo and no promises that anyone was going to pay for the replacement, other than me. While I got completely screwed by the turbo part company , Gateway Auto was there for every phone call, and dealt with a majority of the burden to try and get the turbo I was owed. After finding out that I was S.O.L with the turbo, they were extremely generous, kind, and understanding. If you want a mechanic that cares about you and your vehicle, look no further.

I am very disappointed, after seeing the good reviews. I took my car in on Tuesday July, 17th, finally received a call Wednesday afternoon to authorize additional repairs. I called on Friday the 20th in the morning, my car is not done looks like Monday it will be finished. I have no other car to use! There was no offer to shuttle me home after I dropped my car off. A week in the shop for minor repairs is crazy! Not sure I will use or recommend them to others.

My 2006 HHR was lagging at acceleration so I took it to a local Midas on Halsey. For 99.00 they inspected my car and gave me a quote of $789.95. I called Gateway Auto to get a second quote for I was limited in funds. They quoted me $300.00 so I decided to take it to them and Im sooooo happy that I did!! John and his team are AWESOME! After they did the repairs they told me that my clutch was starting to go. Midas drove it.. why/how didnt they notice? Needless to say she is going back into the shop at Gateway Auto repair and I will not be going anywhere else and I highly recommend them!

Horrible service, never go here. I payed thousands of dollars for work here and they did an awful job. They burnt one of my headlight covers and didnt even say anything. They also used the wrong coolant and now Im having problems with that. Do not go here

This is the worst run business. A 6 hour job has now taken them 5 days to not complete and now Im stranded in Portland and unable to drive home (plus now Im missing work). It has cost me an extra $620 in airfare to go back and forth now.

The owner took my isuzu rodeo , which had horribly warped rotors and bad brakes , and made my truck stop on a dime . He also installed upgraded ball joints and tie rod ends , and she rides new !
