I have been going to Van Sweden for the past year or so on a few of my vehicles. I typically have older vehicles with higher mileage and the guys at Van Sweden always are straight shooters with me about what needs to be done. Ive been to other automotive repair shops in my day and I can say with confidence Van Sweden are solid mechanics with good fair pricing.

Adam and Wayne have been servicing multiple vehicles for us for many years. From oil changes to full engine replacements they are the best! Honest and integrity! I have recommended them to friends who have all been pleased and made them their service shop as well! Highly recommend. Worth a small drive even if you are not from the Portage area.

Ive only had positive experiences with Van Sweden auto. Their prices are more than reasonable, and repairs are done right and last. Honest to deal with too. Wouldnt go anywhere else.

If you need a mechanic in the Kalamazoo area, I recommend Van Sweden Automotive! My check engine light had gone on and the dealership couldn’t get me in for 10 days. When I finally got in, they said it was the catalytic converter and would be over $2,000. I took it to Van Sweden’s the next day to have them check it and he said we would start with the O2 sensor, which would be under $200. He also said a catalytic converter would not cost over $2,000. Well, the Check Engine light has not been on since then (about 3 1/2 weeks) & my appointment is tomorrow. I just called and told them and he said there’s no point in coming to get it fixed if it isn’t broke. He’s out for the good of people and not for the money he can make! I will definitely be back when I need something else serviced on my vehicle!

As someone who knows a little bit more than the basics about a car its really hard for me to take my car to most any shop. After a lot of work and advice from another shop I thought we had the problem pinpoint it down so after being recommended to take my car to these guys I did. I was prepared for the worst and these guys came through with the best case scenario possible for me aside from my car not being broke at all. They saved me a little more than half of what I was expecting to put into my car. I highly recommend bringing your car to these fellas. HIGHLY recommend. I have never been so pleased with taking my car to the shop in my entire life. Take your car to Van Swedens automotive with complete confidence.

BEST EVER. I have had my daughters car in and out of another shop for the same no start reoccurring issue. Finally, when they tried to tell me that the alternator was the problem, which I know has nothing to do with starting the car, just charging the battery, I looked for a new mechanic. Fortunately, I found Van Sweden Automotive. They found the problem, fixed the problem, and showed us the faulty part, which the other place had put in the car. Great service, Great pricing.
