I had a great experience at Fareway meat market. I was looking for some nice filet mignon, and was actually able to request that four of them be trimmed from the tenderloin and got to watch it happen right in front of me. I also chose some nice bone-in ribeyes, that ended up being absolutely delicious on the grill. Both cuts of meat were very high-quality, on the very high end of choice grade I would say.I also received excellent service, from the butcher to the cashier, my experience was seamless. I will be back!

Love this place. Kinda reminds me of Leons in Lincoln. Everything you need and more, plus you dont have to run up and down aisles. I prefer to get my cardio Outside. Service is what it should be, so much better than that chain-grocery across the street.🙂

Best meat counter in town in my opinion. Always have a nice variety of different meat in different cuts and sides/veggies. Also have a nice spice selection to chose from. Always get my turkey legs from here to smoke. They also carry the best briskets from Greater Omaha Packing that are the best around! Definitely recommend going here for all your meat or barbecue needs.

Placed an order from prime rib roast over the phone a week in advance and when I got there to pick it up (the day before Christmas Eve) they didn’t seem to have my order. Thankfully they had some on hand. When he cut it though, he gave me 4lbs instead of the 3lbs I had asked for. I asked him to cut it down to 3lbs and he cut it down to 3.5lbs. Normally I wouldn’t have a problem with this, but for a specialty meat that costs $25 per lb, that makes a huge difference in price. When the gentleman went to put on the price tag, he was charging me for choice grade instead of prime grade, which is half the price. I wanted prime grade though so I asked him if he had given me choice grade by mistake. He went to the back and came back and said “sorry my mistake, this is prime” though the way he said it made me really doubtful that it was true. He didn’t seem very certain himself. We paid $85 and left, and sat in the car doubting of what we were given was actually prime grade. We went back in and explained the situation to a manager (Tony). He checked the meat and confirmed that we were given prime grade, but was nice enough to get us a new cut that was nicely wrapped. Thank you for resolving the issue Tony!

Horrible service and will try to rip you off. Stay away!!!We asked the butcher for the fresh cut in front but he purposely picked out the ones in the back and put the older piece in between so we would not see it. When we went back to ask for this to be changed they gave us a smaller cut and insisted there’s no price difference therefore just leave. We went to the cash register just in case and sure enough there was. Luckily the cashier gave us the difference.Never going back. Highly recommend staying away.

Ive purchased fresh cut filets here twice. Yes, they are pricey, but so, so worth it. Sear in a hot cast iron skillet with butter both sides and finish in a hot oven. Just season with salt and pepper and fresh rosemary. As good as, or better than any restaurant filet weve enjoyed.

Great quality meat served up by friendly folks. The pork belly I got was a steal and delicious!

The options seemed pretty good, but seeing all the employees wear their masks under their nose was a pretty big turn off. Will likely return when there is no active pandemic and am less bitter.

I like Fareway Meat Market. They have the only bulk sugar, soy, and gluten free pork sausage. I would like it if they carried more organic and grass fed meat. If you are looking for a good meat market, it has good meat.

Its a very nice market, however, it IS a Meat market! There are some frozen items, wines & quite a few different cheeses to choose from. Thats about it. I cant do all my grocery shopping, but there are different types of fish & poultry that I havent been able to find in a long time! So I think its worth the trip to check it out!

First of all, why is this under “Omaha Meat Market” when the sign on the building says Fareway Meat Market. Consolidate your branding. Second, it would be so nice if this place were open on Sundays. Sunday is the only day I reliably have off. Not everyone out there is religious. // Update for June 2019: I finally made it here for some frozen meats. Unfortunately, the price rang up wrong on two items. The cashier happily agreed to correcting the price, but it wastes time when it’s not right the first time. I don’t like having to neurotically photograph all the prices before checking out. Also I just read another review that says they sell shark, which is a huge, huge no-no in my book. I can say with about 100% confidence I will never shop here again for that fact alone, *even if* it was one of the legal species of shark. Shame.

This is a wonderfully clean place with good quality meat. However, the butchers here a not really butchers. They cannot cut a piece of meat to order. Bought a Frenched pork roast for a special occasion and hoped for a beautiful presentation, however the butcher did not trim it so it could be cut into individual servings with the bone on as that particular cut is to be served. The roast was very good, flavorful and juicy but NO SPECIAL cut. Ask for chicken thighs and was told they had to cut them, when I opened the package I was not sure what I had. I think that were just whacked with a cleaver given to me however they happened to hit them. They still had rib bones attached. The quality is there but the meat cutters do NOT know how to really trim for presentation. Most of the employees are friendly and courteous but one man always has a smirk on his face as if say he knows just a little better than you what you want. Actually, I think that the meat quality is very good and if you do not want a special cut you will be happy. I will still shop here but never ask for anything special, only get what they have already cut in the case. Beware of the BREAD AND BUTTER chuck roast, because it is just CHUCK with a very old fashioned name and higher PRICED than any other chuck because they give it a special name. I did some research on that cut and it it from out if the past a no other stores do that cut any more, after all chuck is just chick no matter how it is cut. The quality is there but the knowledge of special cut is not.

Ive been in here alot of times. Found the service usually a 5 and friendly helpful staff. I purchased 2 filets this time and some asparagus and decided to splurg. Looking at the seafood counter they had 9/12 king crab legs for 29 .99 Ive bought 2 of these at about 1.5 lbs before and willing to splurg. The 2 on ice where extremely large weighing a lb a piece. I Asked the kid if they had some more in the box that wasnt quite as large. He said they are all the same. So any othet time they would have looked for a couple smaller ones. He just refused. Left bad taste in my mouth. Ive spent hundreds there before

New manager is too baldEDIT: changed to 2 stars because manager is only getting balder by the second.EDIT 2: Previous manager was reassigned to a new location. New manager has a fuller head of hair, but is greatly lacking in the verticality department.Will consider moving to 3 stars if he is required to wear moon boots.

Great selection! Butchers know how to prepare the cuts, very helpful, if trying new things. More than meat, they have everything needed to put together a nice meal! Quick in and out. Not alot of impulse buys to keep you on track, sticking to the list!

Making pork belly burnt ends with the slab I bought. While coming in I noticed the HUGE selection on great priced meats. The cheese curds are AWESOME also. The meat counter service and check out was superb.

Purchased 7 lb prime rib for New Years ($70). They had brought it out from back packaged. 40% fat and able to feed only 4 people with very little left over. Lots of fat cutting. Meat tasted good, but paid for a lot of fat. Disappointed.

I went to B.I.G. Meats first because its close to my place, looking for top round to make jerky. Needed it sliced. I was told they sell it sliced and frozen and wouldnt have any until the end of the week. So.... I went to Faraway Meet Market. Matt there, told me if I call a day in advance they would have it ready for me or if I didnt mind it being sliced by hand he would do it on the spot! Told me it wouldnt be perfect 1/4 inch strips but when I got home it looked pretty perfect to me! I highly recomend this place. They were great and Ill definitely be back.

Most of the staff here are very knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful. Their meat seems fresh and usually reasonably priced. Even though this is out of my way, I make the effort to come to this location for meat purchases.

I am so disappointed they are selling SHARK. This is an APEX predator in the Ocean and it is plagued by the possibility of Bioaccumulation! Any toxin such as lead, cadmium or mercury that was ingested by any animal on this sharks food chain has the possibility to pass up this sharks food ladder and collect in the body of the Apex Shark. Then with this is the fact that over 100 MILLION sharks are slaughtered per year and removed from the Ocean, they are easily unstably threatened in population numbers. That is One Billion Sharks in ten years. I honesty feel this is a bad choice as well as my students that I teach. Just trying to help you.

Horrible costumer service. Fist time there and the last one. If they are open until 8pm, they should offer good service until 8pm. I Went to the store to buy ribs one hour before they closed, I asked them to cut some ribs for me but they said the saw was broken even though I could see that one of them was finishing cleaning the equipment (saw). They even asked me to comeback in the morning when miracously the saw was going to work again.

Bright, cheerful atmosphere with equally cheerful staff offering quality product. Only beef with staff is, asked for two steaks about a pound each. Got two pounds of steak, one 13 ounce and one 23 ounce. Be specific, as you should with everyone these days.
