I got a fried chicken sandwich with ranch on the side and a salad. I ate the whole thing by myself at Lower Bobs looking at cool art and watching cool people skate over it. So delightful. They used good mixed greens for the salad, not one discolored, off-white BS romaine chunk to be found. Great bun, gooey sauce, good times.

This little place packs a punch of flavor that makes me smile every time i stop in here for some eats. Their cookies and banana bread are tops. The only thing id watch out for is the gravy i think it is too sweet.

One of favorite mom-n-pop restaurants in West Oakland. Their biscuit breakfast sandwiches are hearty and delicious. The OJ while expensive is freshly squeezed. Overall very nice folks who make great food.

Came here while staying in the area and I loved it. A really nice place to come and grab a coffee and lunch. Coffee was good but the fried chicken sandwich was delicious. Really fresh with a side of salad that that was yum. There are a few characters that pop in from time to time also which makes the experience better especially for tourists I just wished I had more time to chat with them.

Try the fried chicken sandwich just be aware that it is spicy due to chopped jalapenos. A great-ish sandwich for sure. Chicken could benefit from juuuust a bit more moisture and slightly less breading but otherwise worth the $11 price tag. Go here all the time because of the great service and food! The BEST peanut butter cookies I’ve ever had. I always get biscuits with gravy and fried chicken but I’ve heard amazing things about fried chicken sandwich and the bacon cheeseburger! Those are next on my list to try! I love this place👍🏿

Had the first thing on the menu, the fried chicken sandwich. Loved it! Fresh, juicy chicken breast, flavorful slaw and jalapeños on a nice big bun. Added some spicy hot sauce to top it all off. Choice of three kinds of fries, went with the sweet potato, which contrasted well with the spice. Very affordable prices too. In deep West Oakland. Arrived by bike in the middle of the day and ate at an outside table. An okay neighborhood during the day. Looking forward to sampling more of the menu when I return.

Its a family run business serving all day breakfast and comfort foods in the lower bottoms of West Oakland. Its an awesome neighborhood spot with a good community, would definitely recommend for Sunday brunch.Update: Everything above is true, but their hours are extremely inconsistent, I cant tell you how many times Ive gone by and theyre not open when they should be. Sometimes theirs a piece of paper on the door saying why, sometimes there isnt anything.

This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is the only good thing about this entire neighborhood theres a little Chinese man who owns this place is so friendly and so awesome he he hand squeezes the orange juice there which I would recommend anybody its the best orange juice in town and all of them all of the food there are in very generous portions so if you want to go there with a friend you could order a meal for one person and you can both eat and get very full off of it I love this place and its very affordable

Self service water available.Ordered chicken fried biscuits and gravy and fish sandwich. Chicken seemed pan fried with corn meal crust. Gravy was thin sauce over biscuits. Fried fish used same corn meal batter. Fish was OK and sandwich was OK as a whole. Convenient location if you live close by, otherwise not worth going out of your way for.

Love the pulled pork with slaw sandwich and sweet potato fries. Huge portions. You could share... Not much for seating but there are a couple of outside tables. Thank goodness this business seems to be thriving. There is a need for food places here in the bottoms.

I dig it. A block from my house on 11th. Why 4 and not 5. They dont seem to get why I am annoyed paying the same for no meat options on breakfast. Like an egg sandwich listed with bacon. Is the same cost without bacon. I cant get down with this. Baked goods are yummy coffee is good, could be stronger. But in a good without many businesses. They are open and definitely perky. Food is good, but after years of Kates Kitchen. Passable portion size at best. I think they deep fry their home fries. Which is good and crispy but hardly classic. Overall I think they are hearing me at the counter and maybe they will get it together for that fifth star. I hope so the convenience factor will land me there often.

I love this place. My favorite items are ANY of the grilled or fried chicken sandwiches and the grilled chicken salad. Breakfast is good, but lunch is killer. They also have the BEST BANANA BREAD on Earth. Seriously. And pretty good peanut butter cookies, too.

Charming neighborhood cafe popular and perhaps only known to West Oakland locals. The fried and grilled chicken are spectacular, as are the espresso bar drinks and breakfast diner classics. You need to taste the banana bread before you die.

Cant go wrong with biscuits and gravy here. The gravy is sweet and creamy. The fried chicken is always a go to as well. Love all the options they offer on the menu. They also make fresh bakery items. Probably some of the best service you will receive at any Cafe in the West Oakland area. The menu is small but everything on it is delicious and they always make sure that you are satisfied with your order.Highly recommend their breakfast and the fried chicken sandwich is the bomb.

They are very uninviting if you cant afford to dine their. It was one of the first indicates that gentrification was really happening in lower bottom, West Oakland, California, USA. Best little secret spot in all of the seedy beautiful, scary, renovated , upscale high end, down trodden homeless neighborhood of Oaklands Wood Street . Dogs can hang out with you outside if you wish, the surrounding yards are full of succulents, trees, & flowers wild growing & carefully manicured visuals. 10TH & Wood. Even the local police spread the word of this place.

The place itself is less-than-welcoming, with it bullet-proof glass cashier, but the food itself is solid. Had the pork sandwich, and it hit the spot. Only wish it was just a tad cheaper (especially since most people will need to go out of there way to get there!)

Quirky local cafe, with some excellent offerings. Sure, its a little strange that you order food through bullet proof glass, but the food is totally worth it! The Crispy Chicken sandwich and the tempura fried French Toast (weekend only) are my absolute favorites. Seriously, I could fatten myself up coming here.

This place is great! I usually go for my order of Thai iced tea and a Power Chicken sandwich (grilled chicken, caramelized onion, pesto, spinach, and Granny Smith apple) and some garlic sweet potato fries. Yum!Most of their sauces are made in-house and everything Ive ever ordered there has been cooked perfectly.Service is prompt (though you might call ahead of youre really in a hurry) and very friendly.

This is an awesome little place, tucked into a residential neighborhood and frequented by locals. Its counter-service only and the place is small, but youll receive a great meal in record time. Dont come looking for an upscale environment - the folks who work here are behind bulletproof glass (and its not just for show) but the people who work here are friendly and considerate, and the food is fantastic. I suggest trying the pulled pork breakfast - its spicy and delicious - and they always have fresh-squeezed orange juice.
