Purchased a refrigerator and gas stove back in March. They were both in storage after purchase until mid-May. Installed it and noticed a smell when we used the stove. Figured it was because it was refurbished. Fast forward to August the stove wasn’t used all day and I noticed a stronger smell. Smell so strong we had to call VA Natural Gas to come see if there was a leak. They ended up coming and red tagging the oven. Ain’t no way we did that with a stove that was only installed for 3.5 months and we were more than careful transporting it to storage and back to our home. With purchase there was a 30 day warranty. The refrigerator however works fine, no problems with it. Pretty disappointed! My advice, install whatever you buy right away to discover problems!

Recently I purchased my first home and it didn’t come with a washer and dryer. I was looking for a a quality affordable set and I am thrilled I found that set at affordable appliances I went to the Norfolk location and a very friendly staff member showed me around and helped me to pick out a nice washer and dryer. They delivered them for me after closing of my home and set them up and gave me a little information about them as I watched them work beautifully!Customer service from the owner down to the delivery drivers was top notch!! I am very pleased with my new washer and dryer. I will refer anyone I know on need of an appliance.

Would give it more than 5 stars if I could. This place saved me from having to buy a brand-new set for three times the price. Military owned & helpful sales team. Definitely would recommend

The owner claims that my review of my experience is a “personal attack” and now refuses to complete the repair that was signed upon in their warranty. It is not worth any monetary savings to experience the level of frustration that this entire transaction has caused. I refuse to allow someone to gaslight me into believing I am at fault for simply requesting that a business follow through on their promise. Save yourself the frustration, it’s simply not worth it.I spent almost $1500 on appliances with this company and they assured me that there is a 30 day warranty on all of their appliances, but of course that is an absolute and utter lie. I have been attempting to contact the owner via phone for three weeks since purchase as there was immediately an issue with one of the units upon delivery. I called repeatedly and was sent straight to voicemail and the voicemail indicated that I should text for faster service. I have texted back-and-forth over and over again with someone who tells me to call them but then doesn’t answer tells me they’ll send someone out, but then never actually schedules with me and this has gotten to the point now where myself and the NUMEROUS others experiencing the same issues are considering legal action. Now the person texting is saying “we will just refund you” when all I have asked for repeatedly is to make good on their “warranty” and repair the unit. Do not waste your time, money, or energy. I’m shocked they are still in business.

This place is the WORST! Please don’t buy from here. We brought a washer and dryer from there and the dryer works fine but the washer was dirty. It’s left stains on our clothes that would not come off. When we called them they said it was our water not their machine. Which it was not. We called them they took it back and said they cleaned it but they didn’t. Now we just want our money back for the washer. And they are not answering the phone. It’s been a headache. Please do not buy anything from this place.

Purchased my washer April 11. Had minors issues with it up until my warranty expired. Warranty expires and It’s flooded my laundry room 5 times!! Destroyed my lvp floors. I don’t even want my money back. I just want this piece of trash out of my house !!

I would absolutely give this place zero stars if that was an option. Do not purchase any appliances from them. They are a giant scam. Not helpful at all and they just want your money. My roommate and I bought a washer/dryer unit from them for our house and after two months it stopped working. Leaking water all over the floor. The dryer never worked properly. When we bought it we were told it runs great and that there are no problems with it. That was a complete lie. They give you a 90 days warranty but it’s just a trick to get more money out of you and it means absolutely nothing. A repair man came to our house to take the unit and fix it while in our 90 day warranty window and we were told that if they take it back to the shop to fix it they will charge us even though we were within our warranty window. Also getting a different unit was out of the question because they said “how would we make any money if we just gave you a new one?” Mind you they said this all still within our warranty window. Staff are completely unprofessional. We called again after the washer/dryer unit broke completely and they wanted to charge us $100 to drive from Norfolk to VA Beach to “see if it needs to be fixed.” They also told us that the issues that were occurring were “not their problem.” This company is a joke. Save your money and buy appliances from literally anywhere else.

I bought my washer & dryer on 2/17/21. The people were great. I got the washer installed that Sunday. The washer LITERALLY washed 2 loads of clothes and now it wont wash anything. The light come on and it makes noise but no cycle. This is were things get fun. Trying to get ahold of the company for the 30 day warranty they offer is a COMPLETE JOKE. Theyll NEVER pick up because they are ALWAYS with another customer or at least thatll be the text youll receive. They DONT communicate when they are coming or schedule to come. After you call a couple of times and reply to the text theyll say they are coming before 1pm and you wont get call,text, smoke signal NOTHING! Since it seems like they are avoiding me until my 30 days is up and Ill have to pay to get it fixed anyway, Ill just use my home warranty.

Very very unprofessional..... I had my washer and dryer set delivered and once hooked up the delivery guy ran a cycle and left. After the cycle I opened the washer and there was a moldy smell to it . I tried using the tied washer cleaner but nothing worked. So I called for someone to come and look at the washer... even after calling the service number with no response the message states to text for a faster response... so I did and still no response. So I texted and asked if I needed to call the store and finally received an response stating they would come the next day and no one showed or would answer my calls. After threatening to come to the store in person someone finally called me back and scheduled another appointment only to not show to that one either and he got upset with me saying i was the problem. When all i wanted was someone to fix the issue. He also lied and says someone called and came to the house which wasn’t true because my son was home and i sent him screenshots of my call log wit no calls from this company. He then says they will give me a refund and come to pick up the set. But would not give me the refund until they take it back to the shop to assess the set. Reading reviews on the fb page they’ve done this to several people without giving them the refund so I’m stuck with the set. I will be seeking legal action to rectify this situation being as tho they are too unprofessional to do so. I will never do business with this mom and pop business again and don’t recommend anyone else!

I bought a refrigerator from Affordable Appliances in Norfolk and Lee, told me they would deliver it and take the old one back before I purchased the item and paid for it. He said they would have to take the doors off the old one and the new one to swap them out because they were too wide which I know that have to do that for any refrigerator being installed.I met them at my property yesterday and the people the owner subcontracted to deliver his appliances refused to take the new one inside and they said they dont remove or take old one. One of them said they would do it if I pay them more money after I had already paid for delivery when I bought the unit. When I approached the owner Lee about this he made excuses for them and said they had a lot of deliveries and didnt have time to put it inside.When I called another one of the owners named Clint he said he stated that Lee had already refunded my money back because I was a problem customer. I asked was I a problem customer because I wanted my refrigerator placed in the house like I was told it would be? I also told him I would be placing a review about this business on their Facebook page.I just want to let everyone know my experience at Affordable Appliances.Attention perspective consumer buying at Affordable Appliances. Giving this a 3 because it was a gift that lasted 4 days. Brought a washer and dryer set. When my mom finally went to use it. It completely shut down bit remained hot. It scared her. Now they say she has to wait until the new year to get it fix. She was so happy now she dobt even know if she wants the dryer and asking y they couldnt just cone get it and return when fix. My hisband looked at it. He is a certified electrician. He would fix it but y when its under warranty.

Huge fan of these guys. Ive purchased multiple washer/dryer pairs for several properties. They are fair on pricing, deliver on-time, and the appliances are in great condition. Couldnt ask for much more. Highly recommended.

UPDATE:In response to the companys response, Ive been calling the correct number because I was given the number when I went to the shop of the person to call. I was out of my warranty when you came out but I was clearly within warranty when I called you 10 times, left voice messages, text messages and coming up to the shop in this hot weather with my children. The service and the quality of the appliance that you sold me is unacceptable!! Instead of you all fixing the underlining issue when you finally decided to come out you just slapped a Band-Aid on it! Unacceptable!Ive been calling for months and no one answers the phone. Left 2 messages and no one has called me back. I finally was able to get someone to come out and fix the issue. Now the same issue has occurred and now I cannot get anyone on the phone again. The customer service is bad and the dryer is too!! Highly dissatisfied and disappointed!

Nice washer and dryer set for a great price. My delivery got rescheduled do to someone being out sick and the gentleman that called me was a little rude when informing me. But all in all, it was a good buy. The driver was very professional, clean and quick. Id buy from them again!

Absolutely worst place to buy appliances from. Gave us a washer that was leaking and took it back twice to try and fix it. They still haven’t fixed it and are keeping our washer in there warehouse. They are now threatening to take it to court in order to get my washer back. Out $1100.

Affordable Appliance did a great job helping me find, deliver and install a nice stacked washer dryer for a rental unit where the old appliance quit. I live 200 miles away so really appreciate being able to conduct the transaction via my smart phone. Cary sent me lots of photos to help me identify the right appliance, arranged for super fast shipping and hauled off the old appliance. Best of all, there were no surprises. Everything happened on time and at the price agreed to. Highly recommend.

I just assisted my daughter in getting a washer dryer set from here and that had to be the easiest, fastest and best experience I have ever had in shopping for appliances. I live in SC and my daughter is in VA. They text me pictures of available sets, I chose one, paid online through their Acima credit which took seconds on my phone to apply and get approved and it was delivered the next day and set up for her. Everyone was amazing from sales to delivery and we would definately recommend them to everyone.UPDATE 7.25.21.....So I just went to VA to move my daughter back to SC only to find out that the washer dryer set that was delivered to her was not the set they emailed me pictures of. I specifically asked for a set with no agitator and the set my daughter received has an agitator. If I had known that I would have had her refuse delivery. So disappointing.

Bought a dryer on 9/21, it was delivered on 9/22. Ten days later it stopped working. I contacted the service number and texted them my receipt. Was told someone would come out on 10/05. Monday 10/05 3pm rolls around and no one has shown up up or called. So I text that number back, no reply. I call twice and receive a text saying he was on the other line and to send a picture of the receipt and the problem. You already have this info and my address and my phone number. Its now 525p and of course they are closed. You better beleive I will be showing up in person tomorrow.

Wonderful experience! The man that delivered our washer and dryer was very professional! He was thorough, detail oriented, took his time and was more than happy to answer any and all questions. After the installation, he turned on the washer and dryer, and spent some time listening to them run, to ensure it ran properly. He was very careful moving it through our house, mindful of items because he didnt want to dent or scratch anything. I HIGHLY recommend this place! The prices are amazing and the customer was out of this world! We will be buying our appliances from here for now on. Cannot say enough great things!

In 7/24/20 I purchased a washer and dryer set and a LG side by side refrigerator from this company totaling over $1600.00. Once the appliances got delivered and installed by their delivery driver I notice the next day that the refrigerator was leaking water and doesnt make ice or water; which is needed being a disable Veteran w/ medical needs for ice.I immediately reached out to the company using their warranty website they provided on 7/25/20 and they informed me on 7/26 that they will send out an technician the next day. (Their warranty is 180 day on all parts and labor and 60 days for the refrigerator). 2 days later I had to follow up on the technician request and I was told they would look into it and have the service guy call me. When the technician called it happened to be their delivery driver.I explained to him that the fridge was leaking into my baseboards and cabinets and he asked if the water line was tight.I said it was and that the water is coming from under the fridge and nowhere near the water line.  He came over to look at it and informed me that this is beyond his scope and that they will have to send a refrigerator repair man out.On the 7/29 I was told that they think it the water filter and they would come by again. I explained that the delivery driver looked at the water line and filter and it was installed properly and that the water was definitely coming from underneath and to send a professional technician. From Aug 7 to Sept 2 I was given the runaround of getting the repairs done.The owner would not answer my calls or respond to my messages anymore. At this point I paid full price for a product that isnt working properly and spending additional money on bagged ice a d bottle water because I couldnt use my refrigerator so I contacted my credit card company and put a dispute in mid Sept. It wasnt until they contacted him and he was told he was not getting paid was when I got a call .His conversation on October 27 was why would he pay money to fix a refrigerator that he hasnt been paid for.I explained to him that he had 2 months to fix the issue and he refused and thats when the dispute was placed with the credit card company a d they decided not to pay until you fix the fridge. Dont call intimating your customers because of your irresponsibility as an business owner. Even with that conversation he asked for his money and not once acknowledged that he needed to honor the warranty and product. Why should I have to tell the owner I will contact the Better Business Bureau in order to get them to comply and no response from them and they hung up. As a veteran ....service before self is an ethical trait that this business has not withheld. I pray that no other people have fallen victim to their lack of communication and inability to do right by their customers. Lesson learned to always pay with a credit card because they will have your back when shady dealings are done like this. Taking customers money and leaving them with defective products.No refund was ever given. American Express held the payment from you and is waiting for you to repair it so you can get your money. Once you send the technician to see what is wrong with it the you can adequately say you know what the issue is. But you are out right lying because you never sent anyone to my house to look at the fridge. So how do you know its the icemaker. Please own up and stop telling lies and send a technician to look at the leak from under the fridge. Replace my floorboards and cabinet that got damages from the water and reimbursement for the ice and water that had to be brought because you havent own up to your warranty

I’m a traveling manger on the east coast and have used these guys for 4 locations in Virginia now and have never had one issue. Prices are wonderful, delivery is quick & on time for a reasonable price & the only time I had an issue we got a replacement with a discounted price better than our original pick! Very nice people but trying to get stuff fixed is a hassle. I have been waiting for about 3 weeks to get my washer fixed. I keep hearing they will come pick up my washer and keep getting no shows or they show up without letting me know they are coming( luckily I have a nice neighbor to inform me when someone comes to my house). I call and show up to complain and all I get is I am coming today but they dont. I was told today 03/17-2020 I will be there by 4:30-5:00 because I have 5 deliveries to make....Here it is 6:22 no show, no call/text to let me know they werent coming and they closed at 6:00. Based on this fact, I dont think I would buy from there again.

Bought washer and dryer from this company. Instead of calling to confirm delivery they just show up at my house. I was in hospital and I couldn’t be there. So I had to reschedule. When I did get delivered, Washing machine leaked. I called and they sent a tech out. He put a bandaid on the problem. A couple weeks later it started to leave again. They sent someone to pick it up and when he showed up, they didn’t tell him it was second floor. So I had to wait. They finally sent 2 men to come get it and took it away. They were suppose to leave me a spare. Did they? NOPE. Did they bother to let me know of the change? NOPE. The manager changed his mind and told me they would fix it and deliver it back to me the next day. I waited. I called and said when can you deliver it back and was told now Friday because he needs 2 guys. I agreed and waited. Note I’m already annoyed with the back and forth. I sent a message Friday around noon and was told that I was NOT getting my washer delivered. Why can’t they communicate with customers? So I’m home waiting for a delivery that wasn’t coming. I was so tired of the lack of communication that I said I’m done. Come pick up your damn dryer too. That in itself was a whole other issue to get them to do. Was told I would get all my money refunded but they decided to keep the delivery fee because according to them I got a receipt that magically says I will not get it back. Meanwhile, when I spoke to the manager on the phone he offered to refund it to me. Bottom line, don’t buy from them. They will not keep their word, they will not communicate with you, and they will try to turn it on you when they drop the ball. No thanks. Go out of business please!

I had to buy a washing machine because mine was not working. Anthony helped me from beginning to end!There were many washing machines to choose from that I could afford. I am a senior on a fixed income. I could afford the prices and appreciated the many choices. These men believe in what they do and stand behind their work. My Cabrio machine was installed the day I bought my machine. Can’t ask for better service than that! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I am old school and had to be taught how to operate a push button machine, and that there is no longer an agitator so less water is needed, etc.
