I went there for tire balance which cost $36, but I ended up paying 102$ dollars!!!!One of the studs of my front left wheels was damaged. Their technician damaged another one while removing my tire, and they told me I HAVE TO CHANGE all broken studs since it is dangerous to drive with 3 out of 5 studs.I was okay with one broken stud. Finally, they charged me ~70$ for their technician fault.This is how they care about their customers and take responsibility for their work.I will take legal action to save other customers money.p.s.: I didnt believe their story that the second stud broke...

Not much for leaving reviews but Ive been searching for a reliable tire center. Ive been battling a shake in my truck for 2-3 years. Had tires balanced and alignments done at other shops and did not solve the issue. Tried to take care of it myself without any luck so I gave Delaware tire center a shot at re balancing tires. My truck is finally riding smooth again!! Makes me wonder what the other shops were actually doing, if anything. Will be using Delaware Tire Center from now on!

Both Jay and John are tire experts, they knew the answer technical questions I had immediately. The tires they recommended have a new advanced tread patern which has superior traction and handling.The price I was quoted included everything, no finding charges for balance, old tire disposal etc when I went to pay.Installation was done competently in a reasonable amount of time.I recommend them without hesitation.

I’m a student at UD so I was trying to get some tires close by campus. Will at the front desk helped me get set up and ready, even during a busy day, and I was out the door in about an hour. Great prices and superb service, I would give 6 stars if I could.

Long wait, but we showed up unexpectedly due to 2 blowouts on our trailer. They happened to have our seemingly nichë tire in stock and got us back on the road in about an hour-ish. My boss said he slipped him a 20 and was told wed be serviced next, so he complained over the following hour as he watched 10 other cars come & go. Lol.But hes a piece of work, for all I know one of the staff could have heard him insultingly complaining after waiting just 15min and decided to make him wait longer, or made him wait longer for disregarding the parking lot and blocking traffic. All I know is Ive waited longer at pep boys for less.

We had a tire blowout on our way to vacation. We had trouble locating light truck tires, but Delaware Tire Centers had them in stock. They were busy, but moved us to the front of the line to get new tires. We were back on the road ASAP. THANKS so much to the great crew at DTC! BTW, the prices at DTC cant be beat. I was overcharged on my bill when I picked up my vehicle and I got a call from the sale person and said that I will get it my money back and I went down andTo get money that they owe me and another sale person-refused to refund my money back. That’s a good way to make extra money by overcharging customer

So... I likely won’t be coming back here for multiple reasons. To start, I went with a friend and this was their experience. First when I arrived this morning I was completely ignored despite being the only customer there. Not even a “hi please give me a moment.” When I tried to get help I was met with attitude. There were two people at the desk completely ignoring my existence. I probably should have just left then and taken my car elsewhere. Then, when I picked my car up one of the hubcap emblems was missing. I just assumed that they forgot to put it back on. They said that my car came in with only 3 emblems, which I knew to be false given that I checked my car over before turning over my keys then again after getting them back. They were also pretty rude about me asking after the missing hubcap saying things like, “well we don’t have a reason to steal a hubcap emblem.” It’s likely that they are just a bit overwhelmed due to the pandemic and all. Not sure if customer service here is always this horrible or if they were just having a bad day. Either way, I wouldn’t suggest giving these people your business if you’re a Black patron, or do. You may have better luck than I did. I’ve received similar treatment from other establishments here in Newark, DE so I’m not surprised just disappointed. I also want to note that their very honest review keeps getting taken down.

Great service, friendly staff and great deals on tires. There is a bit of a wait because they do not do appointments and it is primarily first come first serve. They are very knowledgeable about what you need to keep you on the road.

I got 4 new tires at Delaware Tire Center. Lug nuts on my wheel were torqued so tight with an impact wrench they were unremovable with hand tools. In an emergency situation I would have been stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire. Unfortunately, this is a common practice in the tire shop industry to avoid liability. Countless customers who leave good reviews have no idea their lug nuts might have been tightened way over spec.

Very unprofessional.trying to get a quote for a leveling kit. get $500 price. No picture, No configuration, No detail of the product. Only a price.So I have no idea what leveling kit they refer to until installed on my truck?Kinda funny.

As always, we get great service and attention at Delaware Tire. I recently had all 4 tires replaced with alignment. With so many shops to choose from, they are our first and only choice. We are lucky to have such a helpful and knowledgeable tire center in our little town.

I am pretty sure they did a good job patching my tire...they had the truck for almost three hours...

Sitting in their parking lot after service to write this review. Thats how good they are. I have a weird car w/a weird battery & they were able to replace it in 24 hours. I dealt with them by phone, text, & email and got almost instant responses. Kudos to Jay for outstanding customer service.Have *always* used them for tires (theyre weird, too). So happy to be able to have them deal with my battery & other issues, too. Cannot say enough good things about them. Why go anywhere else? Theyre right here by Carpenter Center.

The Woman at counter was very rude and had no idea what she was talking then over charged me. She doubled the price I paid. I do not recommend!

I love DTC. Ive been getting new tires and repairing tires from them for years. I have never had an issue or felt that I was overcharged. The people that work there are helpful at directing you at what tire will best accommodate your car. I dont take my car anywhere else for a new tire or a tire repair.

I have been here to buy and install new tires. They promote to buy Michelin tires, which is a good and famous brand. In such case, they install them the same day. In any case, you can install your tires you bring with you or order the different brand. The prices are very reasonable. The total amount which included tires, installation, balancing, and tire rotation every 5-10k miles was even less than if I would buy the same tires on the Internet and come to install them. The staff was friendly. The work was done in an hour and a half. They have 5% discount for UD students and faculty/staff. In my case, it was 25 bucks. So, highly recommend this center at least for described aims.

I went there for an oil change. They told me three tires of my car are leaking, however I didn’t have any problem with them. I’m not telling they are liars, but I cannot believe them. Finally they charged me 300 dollars.

Fixed my punctured flat inside one hour on a Saturday.I overheard the manager on more than one conversation about the need to replace tires over and above what work the cars were in for. Then he suggested mine were near thier end too. But my total milage on my newly leased car is not even 18,000.That just left a bad taste in my mouth as if the goal there was to push tires over service in general. I could be wrong. I checked my treads and they seem to have a lot of depth still.I dont want to speak poorly of the shop. But I figured my impression should be shared. Im leaving 4 stars because the service I received was quick. I paid $32 for the patched tire.

I went there many times for tire replacement and changing car oil. Frankly, the price is fair and I was always happy with their service.However, last time I was charged double, about $40 just for labor of changing oil!They explained it took longer than usual! I wish I was told beforehand that there might be extra charge.

Hands down the best customer service I ever experienced. Went there to get an estimate for five tires and rims for my Jeep. Their pricing was very competitive. I was in and out in an hour and back on the road.

I work at a local business and had to call in for a tire, the lady who answered the phone was so rude and unpleasant. No customer service or willing to help at all. Was very displeased. At one time they had a gentlemen named John working that was great. Will not be doing any further business with this company.

Their prices were reasonable and they do deliver on their promises. Like any store though I guess it can vary with how good of service you get depending on how busy it is. Mostly everyone we know had a good experience here and we were happy as well. They could maybe improve on a few things with service and the time for waiting and things like that though.

Were able to patch/repair my tire on my 370z instead of trying to sell me a $450 tire like Porter Nissan did. Very good repair that lasted the entire life of the tire. They are my first choice for tire repairs.

Compared to most tire shops, these guys cant be beat. Theyre always professional, work extremely fast and you cant beat the quality. You never feel pressured to buy anything, they dont use scare tactics to get you to repair things. They give you all your information up front along with the price and want you to make informed decisions based on whats best for you, your car and your wallet.

Had a good experience today. Got my tires changed in about an hour. The staff even reminded me that there was free tire rotations! I heard from my friends that their prices are really reasonable, if u were to compare to dealers or places like Pepboys.

I took my car with a leakage problem in the passenger rear tire. The best part is, they serve on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. They kept my car for an hour and figured out the valve pin was problematic. They changed that without charging anything. That made my day.

An appointment was made for my mothers van and the employee who my sister dealt with was very rude. Not only to her but to another employee, in front of my sister. Also after having 4 tires mounted & balanced the brakes were not even looked at. I am satisfied with the alignment that was done. But due to the disrespect and the lack of the brake evaluation, we will not be back nor refer this business.

The upfront staff allowed the mechanics to rev my engine and pull it put of there shop like they were taking it for a joy ride. while i was present in the store. I am a first time customer i will not be returning.

I never post reviews but felt that I had to share the story of my wonderful experience with Delaware Tire Centers-Newark.I was on my way home to West Virginia from Philly. I stopped to get gas and started to pull back onto 695 when I realized my tire was completely flat. Im a young woman, far from home, and it was dark and raining. After calling roadside assistance, the best they could do was put on my spare, but that would not safely last the remaining 5 hours to West Virginia. Panicking, I Googled car shops near me trying to find something that was still open. The first place that popped up was the Newark location...they closed at 8:00 and it was 7:45. I gave them a call and the guy said for me to bring it on over and they would take a look at my tire to see if it could be fixed or if it needed changed. It ended up just needing a patch that was only $30. The tech and the man at the front desk both stayed an additional 15-20 minutes to help me. They did such professional work and seriously came to my rescue when I was in a crisis. I dont know what I would have done if they hadnt stayed a little later to help me. I hope Im never in an emergency again where I would have to go back, but if I ever am its the first place I would choose. I would recommend them to anyone.

I didn’t have the best service. Most places in the area will do an alignment check for free. I went here thinking I needed an alignment because of tire wear. After about 10 mins, I was told I didn’t need an alignment but owe $36 dollars for an alignment check. A 10 minute ALIGNMENT CHECK for $36 when almost every place around will do it for free. I wouldn’t recommend an establishment that takes advantage of people. Thanks.

I hit a large hard object on my left front wheel while driving on the I-95. My tire went soft overnight so I refilled with air and went to Delaware Tire Centers. The gentleman took care of me professionally, the techs checked it for leaks and didnt find any. He didnt charge me for anything! Id go there and recommend them to everyone. Called to ask about a price. The man who answered didnt identify the name of the business and instead answered hes on hold on the other line. I told him I didnt know what he meant and asked if I had reached Delaware Tire Center. At this point he refused to answer and demanded my name. I was pretty shocked by this and asked him if they always interrogate callers before identifying what business they were answering for. He basically told me he was busy at that point. I told him fine,I would go elsewhere and he could continue to blow sales for his company to which he answered okay and hung up on me. What a jerk.

Mixed feelings, only one staff I have worked with in the beginning was decent and patient enough to explain every little detail, then when I returned second time to two different staffs, it was just BAD. Horrible customer service.Trying to get a shuttle service drop me back to work and the staff just seemed like he got no time for me, felt like being rushed out of the door. Regret to do business with this local store, wanted to give them a try to help boost the local economy but very disappointed.

Stopped in to purchase a rear tire. They told me my two front tires were shot and needed to be replaced. I told them i bought my two front tires FROM THEM not too long ago. They changed there tone them. Dont believe il be going back there.

Just left there feeling very lucky I came across this business. Got a flat on 301 coming from Annapolis and was riding on the donut. I needed to have the tire back by morning and was in a hurry to get to an event. They did me one better and rushed the tire and car into the shop, patched it up, remounted, and reset the TPMS for an insanely low price. These guys are fantastic!! Very polite and personable! I will be back again to give them my business!

I had a recent very positive experience from Delaware Tire Center. I was traveling down to Delaware to visit my family over Christmas when I ran over construction staples in both right side tires early on Christmas eve. When I called Delaware Tire they informed me that they were closing early and could not help me that day, were very apologetic, and said that they could help me first thing Wednesday morning when they re-opened.I brought my car to them when they opened and told me that only the rear tire had been punctured and that the front tire was not losing air. I was prepared to purchase 2 new tires and they could have told me that both needed to be replaced, however they were honest about my situation and saved me some money.I had purchased my tires through TireRack and I had a road hazard protection policy. The staff at Delaware Tire Center agreed to speak with TireRack on the phone to help me process my road hazard claim so that I did not have to keep the punctured tire for inspection later. They took a few minutes to give all the information that TireRack was requesting over the phone which was probably frustrating on many levels and was something that they did not have to do.In my experience they were kind, caring, transparent, and honest.

Local, family owned shop, good prices on tires, never tried the oil changes or mechanic services but for tires and such its my place to go.

I cant speak to their ability to fix more complicated issues, but I got a set of tires from them and they did a good job for a good price. They also diagnosed my check engine light, which turned out to be a malfunction, so they charged me less than their standard diagnostics fee due to the minor problem. These guys care about customer service and satisfaction.

Had a bad experience here. Wanted an alignment. They said I needed some additional Front End work to the tune of $700. Got the Jeep back and the passenger side caliper lower bolt came off on the ramp from 896SB to 95NB. Made a horrible sound and damaged the wheel. I had to pull off on the side of the interstate. Pete came out and helped on the spot with a bolt that fit and torqued it.Later they took off 50 bucks from the original bill replaced the bolts with proper ones but they didnt replace one of my lock lugs. Evidently they have a lost and found that I can look through when I get a chance.I dont plan on going there again.

Seems like the attention to service went down after sale was made and I got as locked in with deposit on wheels and tires was told to bring back for wheel torque and to have paint stains removed would be in and out no waitwhen I was in the area to stop bycalled as I got near and was told would“get to it when they could “I asked maybe 30 minutes and was told“ no idea”So much for in and out

They do what they say they are going to do. Very reasonable prices. I think that they treat my truck like they owned it when they worked on it.

They broke my skid plate bolts and didnt do any thing about, just putted in my trunk. They were not on time and in general not with a professional manner. They balanced my front tire and told me afterwards that I have a nail in my tire, also they charged me for balancing the tire which had a nail in.In total I would give them a low grade and I was not happy with their service!

Another Michelin/Goodrich/Uniroyal dealer to stay clear of. Totally non-responsive to my problem. Even a return phone call was too much effort for them. This is the second M/G/U dealer in my area to treat me like crap. Could this problem be due to the tire manufacturer or just another blatant case of poor customer service?

I brought my tires there to be mounted and balanced. I noticed the balance was slightly off so i brought it back to be corrected. When they were corrected, the balance actually was thrown way off. When i brought this to your peoples attention they said i would have to pay $25 extra each tire to have them done again. They of course blamed the tires as all 4 must be defective and only the ones in stock are perfect. If this was the case, why did the balance get noticeably worse when they were supposedly corrected? I tried explaining that the balance was way better the first go around but apparently they did not care. Way to nickle and dime customers to death for shoddy work.*update* - After emailing about my situation, the owner offered to do them again with a road force balance which should be standard IMHO to ensure every customer is done right. Turns out ALL 4 wheels were off according to the tech. One by .75 it was not the tirerack tires as they like to blame , or the magically defective factory rim which is also used as ascapegoat. balance is perfect now. Glad they did it right although it should not have to come to that. After all, when left up to the people at the shop, they wanted an extra $100 to do it right. Now that I was proven correct about the bad job I feel like i am owned an apology for getting a run around.

I was referred to these people by some individuals from the Brandywine Motorsports Club.When I brought my tires and wheels, the price for balancing alone was kind of high, but it was well worth it. ($38 vs. Pep Boys or some other crap shop at ~$20).The person who took care of me told me about the flat spot on my tire from not having ABS and he told me about a bend in one of my wheels that I didnt see before. He also spoke to me about his Mini Cooper and we had a good conversation about track days and autocross.Overall, very good customer service, honest employees, and great experience. Would recommend for tire balancing.
