This place is such a rip off $11.99 for a 3.5 oz of Laxmi Brand cardamom powder. Thats insane. Never again first I thought was a mistake so I called to confirm and when he said $11.99 I was taken back. I honestly thought was $1.99 city prices are ridiculous.

This used to be a really nice shop earlier but now its too expensive. A bag of red onions costed 3.49 usd which I usually get for 1.99 usd from instacart. Large desi dahi for 8.99 usd which I get for 6.49 usd. Pickles which I get for 2.99 usd were for 5.99 usd here. Everything is 1-4 usd more expensive. They said they are expensive because they are in Manhattan. Maybe all the Indian stores in Manhattan are overpriced due to high rents. But then if I order online from mirchimarket.com, I find it cheaper and convenient as they do home delivery too. I found it useful for rare items or emergency items, but not for regular Indian shopping.

This is one of the more inexpensive Indian groceries option in Manhattan. It doesnt have the same variety or selection as Kalustyans but its certainly a steal when compared to the prices at Kalustyans. I do wish they would put a price label on more of their items, especially the produce because I dont want to go all the way up to the counter and then realize that it is beyond the price point of a student. Overall, one of the more inexpensive Indian grocery store in Manhattan, but they need to put a price tag on the items.

BILLING FRAUD SCAM - Already reported to police/311.Always look at your receipt for any random items added to your receipt. When you notice and ask them theyll immediately acknowledge and issue a cash refund. Extremely deceptive crooks right here in manhattan. Disappointed in an Indian grocery doing this. Im going to have to double check every single receipt from a small business thanks to these cheats. The first time it happened I assumed it was an honest mistake. Second time I made sure I checked in the store sure enough the same lady shamelessly scammed me and I showed what I had in my purchased bag to the amount on the receipt. She faked a mistake and issued a refund but no apologies. I come home and check there are already other reviews mentioning the similar scam six months ago. Please stay away.To the cheat of a store owner :Since I live a couple of blocks away, I plan to catch you on camera the next time. That is if the cops havent acted on the fraud complaint I have filed already.

Pathetic shop... I bought a bread packed and when I opened it in home it was smelling bad and already spoiled. Also i strongly recommend check the bill whether they priced what we bought. I bought few things they gave me a bill for 34 dollars then i noticed 18 dollars it just added without any reason. I checked back with them but the response was so bad... The original bill amount should be 16 dollars.. i stopped going to that store.

One of the best restaurants for Indian food in the Bay area. The owners are really cool. The food is very tasty. They have buffet Saturdays and the mutton Curry is extremely good. They have free tea there. The owner keeps the prices less by not collaborating with did delivery services like GrubHub, doordash etc as they take a cut which comes from customers. Hence the price is low. Sunday in closed. They are super hosts with nice food. Do try here for sure. They are better than chat bhawan etc. The food is not that oily and tastes authentic Indian. The roti is of flour which is rare here. I am a permanent customer here. Do try here once :)

The cashier is an old bald Indian man with glasses who played dirty business. I asked to change one of the items I was checking out. He ended up charging me everything on my CC and said that its all been charged refusing to deduct the amount on the item that was replaced, forcing me to have to end up buying everything. My advice, pay by cash if you see this old guy, or hes going to swindle you with your credit card the first chance hes got.Updated note: 12/25/2016 The one star I just gave, is due to the fact that Ive gotten even with him. How? Ill leave that to your imagination, but its very legal, dont worry. I call it...a social experiment.
