Bottomline...spent $30,000 and followed his recommendation and installed a SAVANT System. This system is dependant on having the installer be an ongoing technical manager of your system. He is the only one who can control integral setting changes to your equipment. So what happens when he gets busy and you get put on the bottom of the totem pole while he works on new customers, takes vacations and doesnt return your calls. You are stuck with a system that does not work and you end up calling SAVANT HQ trying to get a replacement.

Fiks Consultants was an absolute joy to work with - if you are considering any sort of smart home technology HIRE THEM! Eugene and his team designed an awesome TV/Sonos/Lighting/Climate/Shades/Drapes/Camera system for our Tribeca apartment. We had never used smart home technology before and Eugene made the whole process as easy and streamlined as possible. First, Eugene is extremely responsive - whenever we called Eugene whether it was during the day or at night or on the weekend he always answered immediately and got back to us. On one occasion, we needed someone to help look at our A/C thermostat due to a building issue (nothing to do with the smart home technology) and Eugene actually arranged for someone to come help us on a Sunday on extremely short notice. Second, he listened to us every step of the way and designed a system that was perfect for our needs. When the system was set up it was clear he had given very careful thought to our floorpan and rooms and figured out perfectly where everything should go. Third, the team Eugene sent was extremely professional and wired everything carefully and efficiently. The system Eugene built rocks and was well worth the money. If you are considering between different companies, I promise you will not go wrong with Fiks Consultants - we got some quotes from other companies along the way and the difference between Fiks and everyone else was night and day. They did a fairly complex sound (including in wall speakers), tv and wi-fi set up, as well as automatic blinds.
