My first street food in NYC and I’m in love. I love the Lamb Kathi Roll and will definitely be ordering more when I’m craving a snack! There’s a slight kick to this roll and I absolutely love it.The first time I ordered this was when I was walking around NYC. The second time was as a late night snack. This is perfect for an anytime meal!
Chicken biryani by suleman bhai was awesome.totally loved it.
Quality & delicious food on budget! I was introduced to this food cart by one of my colleagues when I moved to work at midtown. I was new to the cart food culture and I’m glad I began at this place. This is owned by some very nice people who are apparently a celebrity couple. Their cart is a standing advertisement with their awards, laurels and newspaper mentions.I usually go for their mixed veggie with rice or dhal with rice but I’ve always found a lot of people picking on the meat choices regularly, that are also offered at a nominal cost. The food quantity is pretty generous and they add a variety of sauces to top off the food. The wait time is about 5 minutes for there’s always a line of people. But what stands out is that they know who has ordered, waiting and even people’s food choices.PS: They have a member punch card and you get a free box of your choice when you accrue 10 punches.
This was DELICIOUS!!!We were walking up to grab lunch from the already very established food cart, which we wont mention, and while walking by we saw Royal Grill Hala Food. What specifically caught our eyes 1st was their food award signage.Really smart on their part.We end up getting the lamb biryani, and OMFG its delicious. Their food is made with LOVE. Its not rushed food, or burnt food, cheap mediocre food. Its delicious food, made with love, and its priced just right. Loved that the meal included a boiled egg too!!!!The owner was super nice and sweet. I hope they will continue to cook with love and keep the prices as is, as I will be eating from their cart here on out and not the other famous one.
By far the best lamb gyro we have ever eaten in all of our travels. The lamb is fantastic and Mohammad is so friendly!
Received wrong order. Had ordered 1 chicken tikka kathi roll and 1 lamb kathi roll on doordash... Received 2 chicken over rice instead. Very disappointed.
The food is really delicious and affordable. Great place to pick up lunch!
The best food cart in Midtown, Times Square area with assotment of halal and vegetarian food menu! They have rice bowls, salads, sandwiches, falafel and samosas. The thing that I love is that you can mix and match from the menu as you want. Their best item is the Chicken Tikka which has great flavor. You dont need to wait long as they have 2 carts side by side.
It was really good. Hit the spot late at night ☺️ Im only giving it four stars because its not like its a steakhouse. Its a food truck but it was honestly DELICIOUS
No lie, this food is hot garbage. The good isn’t spicy at all, the CHicken tastes extremely bland. Take this from a real Indian, no idea how this place has such good reviews. Honestly people with no taste
Kathi roll was great if a little oily, tikka rice is a must
There are plenty of Halal food trucks in the city, especially around Time Square, this is the one I recommend. The food was delicious, well-prepared, the cook was obviously well trained, experienced, and serious about satisfying his customers.
The platters from Royal Grill will have you questioning if you’ve ever had a good Chicken over Rice before. The flavors are different from your average cart. Has a different taste to it altogether. The spicy rice is great with the Chicken Tikka. The service— impeccable!
I seriously dont see what the hype is all about
Gave us old food, started smelling after we saved half for lunch. Charged $9 extra for paying through venmo. All platters taste the same. Very disappointed. Wont be going here again.
One of the best Biryani! 10/10
We ordered a chicken and lamb combo, and one chicken over rice. The combo was okay but we are disappointed by chicken over rice- comparted to any other food truck, there was less meat and covered up with just onions. The guy was grumpy( probably busy) and the hot sauce and green sauce looked like it had color.
Great Food! will come again. Not spicy at all
The best street food I have ever tried and the service was so friendly and nice, very kind people I would like to come back once, ten and hundreds of times and I will never be satisfied with the pleasure of this food I have tried.👌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯
Best kattiroll on city
One of the greatest food I never had, and friendly employees!!!!
Overall a great cart offering different items, I’ve got lamb over rice. White sauce is a bit tangy not to my preference. Overall 7.6
The owner is a real nice guy.
It’s so good! In my opinion, it is better than Adel’s place. Thank you Mr. Alam for such delicious food!
My first time to try food stand. It’s very delicious and tasty. Cheap price and kind owner.
An amazing place to get authentic South Asian flavor at an unbeatable price! First of all the chicken tikka is better than your moms, the biryani is better than your wifes, and the owners sweetness and passion of making food will even make your girlfriend think youre too sweet. Old country buffet wishes they had this flavor, consistency, taste bud festival. Dont ever go back there, and dont mention Golden corral to me, just come here and eat your heart out.
Great variety of food with amazing flavor. Great service too! Highly recommend!
Kati rolls are awesome!
Not REAL HALAL FOOD....ITS FAKE SPANISH FOOD DOESNT TASTE GOOD AT ALL
The chicken over rice was bland. It had no salt or spice, and there was barely any white sauce or red sauce, even though we asked for extra. What little white sauce it did have, was inconveniently placed over the tomatoes. The gyro was also bland with no spices. I don’t know why this place has such good reviews nor do I know how this food truck won an award when they are incapable of properly seasoning halal food.
I ordered lamb biryani .what i got was boiled rice .with lamb gyro.2 tomato. 1 cucumber. White and hot sauce .with 1 boiled egg.worst biryani ever i had in my life time .and iam 44.He must thought iam not desi .so i wont know what lamb biryani is .
5 star for a reason
It is different than the halah guys. Both are good but very different. This has more veggies and not just pure lettuce as the halah guys only use lettuce. I tried the tiki chicken masala with rice.. its a little sweet imo but over all it was good
My wife and I ate here and it was absolutely delicious . Everything was fresh and the owner knew exactly which sauce combination to put on it to make it perfect.Thank you ! This will be our go to place when we are at the Helmsley
The experience was great at this cart. I ordered the chicken tikka with rice which is tremendous and delicious. The owners of the cart are really nice and welcoming. I came two times before and now I come everyday. The cart has cheap prices but, with that it gives a really great quality of food. I recommend you go to this cart.
This place was legit good. halal guys have nothing on this.i went after 3pm? when there was nobody around.. but the food was delicious and i am planning to come back
Definitely worth a try! Came all the way from Queens, NY to Times Square after school to try their food. Very delicious, and not your normal halal food cart. Worth a visit 👌
I got the combo over rice and it was delicious. Not only was the food great the experience was too. The halal cart is owed by a lovely couple who are really nice and they like to engage with their costumers. They give whatever sauce you want and how much spicy ness you prefer. The food and experience was 11/10 and I will come back again. This was my first time and will certainly not be the last. 😄
Love the food
One of the best halal carts in NYC. Great for quick late food
Really nice food and the guy is really friendly. Always has a smile on his face. This halal food is the best.
Delicious foods and low prices.
Its an awesome place to eat. Their chicken biryani is better than any Indian restaurant. I love their food.
Amazing!! Lamb gyro had very tender meat, & great sauces! Mixed veggies, Dahl & rice felt very healthy but didn’t sacrifice on any savory tastiness! Highly recommend- cheap too!
Visited the place on a Saturday night after reading their good reviews. But was disappointed by the experience. The food by itself was ok, but they did not mention that had run out of some of the ingredients like salad and veggies.I can understand vendors running out of stuff after a long day , but not to be upfront about it is not acceptable. And if you are not serving the whole dish , charging the full price doesn’t make sense either. In the end their greed left a bad taste.
So delicious ! Love the chicken biryani, it’s not spicy so I think a lot of people would really enjoy it. Definitely try it out, very reasonably priced.
Heard about this place through the huge amount of reviews online and YouTube. Did not disappoint! Had the chicken tikka masala on rice and it was amazing! Only $7 for a huge portion! Had one between two of us!
Another excellent Halal food! Service is quick and smooth. Nice location, and a friendly worker.
Chicken and rice is the best
Combo over rice is amazing
The chicken tikka masala over rice was really nice and the portion was really huge. The kati roll is also REALLY good and also surprisingly good portion at only 3$. Definitely worth checking!
Literally the best halal food cart in NYC. Halal guys have nothing on them. Theyre literally authentic and not processed.
I got the lamb and chicken... Im rounding up to 4 stars because the guy was really nice, and I hate to write bad reviews...but I dont think this is anything special. If you have your mind set on a white sauce + meat + rice dish, yes sure come here. But a 5 star food cart is still a food cart, youd be an idiot to expect haut cuisine. (im speaking to myself)
Great inexpensive halal food. Love it.
Something different. Their biryani is worth try, best desi food near Time Square.
Had the chicken tikka over biryani rice. Very tasty and different than all the other food cart chicken options Ive had. If I were in the mood for food cart chicken Id come back here.
Best food truck in Midtown. They’re falafel is DELICIOUS! The customer service is oustanding. Very charismatic couple, always respectful and nice. They have your food ready in less than 5 mins, even when there’s a line. I love coming here for lunch during work. Thank you!
Excellent lamb and chicken. $6. What a deal. Way better than Halal Guys.
The chicken tiki was really good. The guy was very nice too
Allah wud be proud of their Halal
Fantastic food! A must visit cart for anyone in the theater district. Im now a regular.
Worth to try!! Love the food.
