I sold a diamond engagement ring with a GIA certificate. I knew more or less what it was worth. I had call other dealers for a ball park estimate. Majority of dealers gave me low ball offers or an extremely large range, whereas Truvals estimate was around what I had expected. One so-called top buyer gave me a low ball offer in person, and as soon as I walked out, he immediately called me to offer more. Well first and foremost, Im one of those people who will always look at reviews but rarely ever writes them. But I felt compelled to write my first google review for Truval. I had a diamond engagement ring from a failed relationship that I have been trying to get rid of for a while now. I had an engagement ring to sell and had it at another jeweler in the city for about 5 weeks, had a few offers but they were kind of low. The nice salesman of Gold Rush Refiners took the time to explain to me how they price and buy scrap gold from you. I had an old class ring, I called other gold buyers, I had taken it in to other jewelers and they did not explain anything to me, they also quoted a much lower price. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with Steve at Truval. I was selling a number of pieces of gold and other jewelry after the passing of a loved one. First off, the office is very safe and secure. It is located on an upper floor of an office building, so you feel safer when walking out than you would if you were selling to one of the retail stores at street level. Steve and his colleagues were very friendly, and I felt no pressure at all to sell. He took his time to inspect and test each and every piece, even stuff I thought was worthless, and offered me an extremely fair price for the gold jewelry--so much so that I accepted his offer on the spot without even haggling for more. He was also extremely respectful of my decisions with respect to the few pieces I decided not to sell right away. In fact, he made such a good impression that when another buyer from whom I sought a second opinion offered me a similar price for certain pieces the next day, I decided to go back to Steve to sell those pieces too. Steve and Truval will be my go-to jewelers from now on!

While I perhaps could have gotten a bit more had I shopped around, the experience was well worth it. Highly recommend.

Going to an impartial appraiser confirmed how outrageous the first 2 experiences were. He gave me the knowledge and confidence to get a fair price. It was then that I showed up without an appointment at Truval. Steve has a pleasant demeanor and is not pushy. He clearly has experience and has learned to harness it in a way that creates a comfortable setting. Steve offered a fair price for most items. When I felt the offer was not enough, I would counter and Steve would go to where he was comfortable. No hard feelings if we didn’t come to a meeting of the minds. Overall, I feel that I had a 5 star experience. I would go back again and if I did, I might hold firm on certain items. It is important to remember that sales is an art form, employing strategies to get the best price.
