I remember the first time I stopped here and discovered the backroom of shelves and shelves of plays. I was just out of high school and it blew my mind, didnt realize the accessibility of these books at the time so it was like MAGIC to me (2004). Despite not pursuing it professionally, helped instill my continued love in drama and hobby of enjoying it both as a spectator as well as from my home in print. Love stopping here when I visit the city and seeing that the prices are kept reasonable despite location and always end up picking up a few things to add to my collection. Also, if youre looking for memorabilia from a certain show but unable to make it to the theatre for whatever reason, worth checking here.Cant wait to visit the city again when Broadway reopens and will most definitely be back here as well.

The selection itself is awesome, and the two stores are within a block from each other. The larger one is a theatre specialty bookstore and souvenir shop in itself. My problem with the shop is the consistently rude/snotty/condescending staff. I understand that they may be tired dealing with tourists and getting asked the same stupid questions over and over, but they need to understand that theyre not getting paid to sit around and chat with each other and customers should not feel like theyre interrupting their private conversations. If they are theatre experts, they should be SHARING knowledge with customers, and if they are are sales clerks they need to engage in customer service. As a result, I often visit the shop, then note what I like and buy it online. If they were more welcoming and hospitable to everyone, I would definitely do my best to patronize them, because I really appreciate the cool selection.

Updated March 14, 2019: walked in around 10:15am. Pleasant enough experience with no rude staff issues. Did a little window shopping for items to pick up in July or August on my return trips to NYC. Returned around 10pm in desperate need of a tote bag to combine a bunch of stuff prior to getting back on the MegaBus and they were VERY helpful. Picked out a gorgeous Lion King tote that zips across the top at a very reasonable price. Superb selection of Broadway memorabilia and souvenirs. Easier this time to recommend due to two good experiences on the same day. From Aug. 18, 2018: Have been wanting to see inside this store since my last visit to NYC and then completely forgot to in the rush of getting everything done. On Saturday, Aug. 18th walked in the front door a little after 10am to find the two staff at the front counter arguing in front of customers about work schedules, which sort of dampened my previously excited mood. Browsed the amazing selection with ALL the intention of buying the mother-load of souvenirs, checked out the attached bookstore, and then left without spending a penny. If you hate your jobs that much, have the courtesy to talk “work” in the back where we can’t hear you. I bought what I wanted at another store. I’m sure they don’t care. Next time properly greet your customers when they walk in the door.

If I could give less than one star I would. You guys. The owner of this store was the rudest human being I have ever met. We came in after lion king and they still had over 15 minutes until they closed. We were just going to get one item, and he was rushing literally the entire store out of the building yelling at people that the store was closing. He then proceeded to go around to different guests and remind them that they had however many minutes yet. I watched him get into a yelling fight with one of the customers. They were both yelling at each other but come on man. Seriously? You are going to treat a customer like that? It was bad. He then continued to rush me and my friend out, we didn’t even want to purchase anything after seeing him being so rude to everyone around him. Someone else open a theatre shop so we can put this jerk out of business!!!

Favorite place to get broadway stuff in New York. Theater Circle is a stop I make every time I am in the city. It is my fav place to pick up any broadway memorabilia. They have wide range of t-shirt, sheet music, and so much more. The store is not huge so the capacity is not that large but even so, I buy something from here every time I’m in NYC and I think you should to.

This store has a wonderful selection of memorabilia. HOWEVER, the staff was very rude. They seemed inconvenienced by doing THEIR OWN JOB (refolding shirts). The service I was given made me not want to return. Sad to say I won’t be returning.

The music globes have a sign that say to ask for assistance with those items. I thought that it was just to wind them up to see if they worked or to see what music they played. I took a box to purchase it and the store clerk proceeded to give me a rude lecture, asking how I got the box in my hands and that his signs were up there for a purpose. He wound up talking us out of a purchase, letting us know that they could not be taken on carry-on luggage at the airport. Although I really wanted it for my daughter, Im glad we did not wind up buying anything there. He was very rude and did not deserve the business.

One of the only souvenir shops in Times Square selling less bouibouis and prettier objects, in particular souvenirs relating to Broadway and its musicals: posters, CDs, sheet music, books. Nice shop. Its just unfortunate that the seller refused to wrap us a $ 24 CD in kraft paper for air travel. I dont think it would have ruined the case to pull out a 30cm piece of kraft. Too bad Im taking a star for that.
