The coffee is what you’d expect at any small New York coffee shop. The prices are outrageous though. This iced latte was $6.53, I have never been charged that much for a cup of coffee in my life. It’s disgusting expensive for no reason. The coffee is really not worth that much. The woman behind me asked for iced coffee and they told her that they were out of that, kind of weird to be out of iced coffee at 2:00 in the afternoon when all they sell is coffee. Overall i’d go somewhere else. I reached out to them via Instagram to no avail, probably because they have no rebuttal to my claims. They shouldn’t expect people to pay their rent for them and for them to have the audacity to ask for a tip on top of that is laughable.

Cute, small space with good drink choices for both coffee and non-coffee drinkers! I like coming here on weekdays when it’s not as crowded so I can sit around for a bit. There is a also a great rewards system that gives a free drink after purchase of six drinks.

Went for a quick cup of joe, but they didn’t even have coffee (a coffee shop without coffee 🤷). Had to pay extra for a flat white which was ok. Also bought a cookie that was small, overpriced, and mediocre. Should’ve just went somewhere else when they said we don’t have any coffee.

Big cold brew fan, theirs is excellent. Bold and chocolatey, low bitterness. They let me sample a cortado, again slightly more bold. They dose 22g above the usual 17g that most cafés will put in.Kind, friendly staff. Tom made us a good almond cap.Coming back for sure.

Small venue, serving tasty drinks. We had a flat white and a tumeric latte. The coffee was nice and strong, and the tumeric latte had a very nice and tangy flavour. Theres a small selection of snacks and pastries to choose from, but there is nothing too tempting. Its a relaxing environment, with nice decorations and music. From listening to the staff talk to other customers, you can tell hes really passionate about coffee.

Saltwater is a true gem in new york for coffee and drink lovers alike!Located in the heart of the east village, their coffee is bold and well balanced, roasted and shipped fresh from Sydney. It is a small shop with some seating ( for those who want to use the free wifi and stop for quick bite) and the space is inviting and designed with a tasteful minimalist design aesthetic. There is a genuine and community feel to this shop and you are always met with warm and friendly staff. We were lucky to enough visit a couple of times and have tried their cortado and matcha latte which were both delicious! On a hot sunny day, their signature cold brew and their home made lemonades really hit the spot. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in town.

Their coffee cups are plain white with no branding. So you can take them outside without becoming another walking advertisement, tricked into tricking others into drinking one particular shops coffee. Instead of staring at every subway ad and window promotion and clothing label and corporate logo and litter packaging and hood ornament you can fixate on your coffee cup and enjoy your thoughts as you walk as far as possible from this awful city

Great new spot for coffee, tea, and small bites in the East Village! Super friendly staff. Very nice interior, clean, modern, Scandinavian vibes with whites, light woods, marble, and pops of color. Great variety of drink options, awesome coffee, but plenty of tea and other options, as well. They have a turmeric latte with oat milk and definitely check out the specialty lemonades! I really enjoyed the strawberry basil option. Theres some table and window seating if you want to stop in for a bit, but also quick service if youre just taking to go. A welcome addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely be going back!

A local coffee shop in the East village and one of my favorites. This is a place I would go out of my way to grab a well made flat white.I have only ever order flat whites, but every time the espresso is rich and the milk frothing is too die for. I have never had a bad cup of espresso from this establishment. Sometimes I get a croissant and they are good but pretty standard. As for the price, it is around average for the area about five dollars a drink.

We stumbled upon Saltwater Coffee while strolling through East Village and were amazed to find great Aussie coffee. Best Flat White I had whilst in New York, and I went back for their uniquely Aussie Milo Mocha - Milo and Coffee - winner! The owners Sid and Lee are extremely friendly and have set up a slice of Australia in the neighbourhood - complete with sun-filled seating. Also try their Turmeric Latte; uniquely warming with small hints of spices - yum!

Australian coffee really is better!Starbucks can barely stay afloat in Australia because the culture is too well-educated about coffee to accept a bitter coffee.I spent a couple weeks in Sydney and tried coffee all over the city from fancy hotels to little hole-in-the-wall take away spots and every single coffee was superior to most coffees in the US.Never bitter. Always delicious. Flat whites were invented Down Under so what more do you need to know?Saltwater serves amazing flat whites and their cold brew is smooth and delicious and never bitter. But dont believe me if you think you know better. Go to Saltwater (or Australia) and have a real coffee (no drip coffees) real coffees based on a perfectly pulled espresso.

Was in NYC on vacation recently and stopped by here while walking through the East Village. As an Aussie I love a good coffee and man did this place deliver.Their coffee is easily some of the best by Australian standards. Unfortunately no bathrooms. Will definitely be coming back next time Im in town.

Absolutely love this place. The coffee is outstanding and staff are super friendly. Visited several times on my most recent stay in NYC, had flat whites and the maple latte. Flat whites were consistently excellent whilst being made by different staff and the maple latte was subtly sweet and understated. Would have loved to have tried many of their other creations but couldn’t steer myself away from those flat whites! The only downside is that any other coffee now tastes rubbish in comparison. Definitely visit if you’re in the area, or even if you aren’t.

We ordered a latte and small coffee. The coffee was not very good, but the latte was above-average. The space is extremely small, comfortably fitting maybe 6 people. At the time we went, the owners were seemingly catching up with acquaintances and telling stories about their weekends, which made our transaction a bit awkward. The space was so small, we couldnt tell when the barista was talking to us or to his friends, causing some confusion when our drinks were ready. Other than that, seems like a fine little shop. I believe there are better coffee shops around, but this one is just fine.

Hi Lee. Visiting NYC from Melbourne we were excited to find your cafe a few streets from us. We’d been getting coffees the last few days and yesterday got a ‘large’ flat white for which your barista charged me extra for and advised I’d need an extra shot so it would be strong enough. It was perfect.Tried to get that this morning and your guys flatly refused and were quite rude about it, telling me he doesn’t really care what the other baristas were prepared to do previously as there is “only one size”.Maybe not a big deal if your staff were at least pleasant about it.
