I really love this place. My family and I have shopped here for decades, everything we need from beautiful dishware, pots & pans, silverware cutlery, cutting boards to chandeliers, also great bedding department with some furniture upstairs. Always excellent quality. I bought a WMF can opener here years ago that has lasted more than over 15 years also upgrading our espresso maker with a beautiful Saeco Gran Baristo Avanti with bluetooth settings. I will always shop here for household items that we need for our Manhattan apartment. Money is no object when it comes to this place. Also not to mention the staff is very nice and professional.

I placed an order through Williams Sonoma and I believe it mistakenly sent to the Columbus Circle location in NYC for pickup (I live in NJ) so I called them up and a woman named Joe helped me have a hassle free experience figuring out the situation. We had a fantastic shopping experience at William-Sonoma the day after New Years. We had a gift card from our wedding several years ago, and we went in not expecting much in the way of attention or service in Midtown Manhattan in the middle of COVID. But even tho we were just looking for a simple toaster, something certainly at the lower cost end of the luxory kitchenware they sell, we received the absolute BEST customer service weve had in ages! Renee greeted my husband Carlos the minute we walked in, and gave us first class, above-and-beyond assistance from that point until we had completed our purchase (which probably took us 30 minutes to make a decision) and said goodbye. I cant say whether Renee is emblematic of the standard of service at this location, or if we were just very lucky to get her, but thank you Renee, for giving us a wonderful start to the New Year!

I received a Williams-Sonoma gift certificate for Christmas and stopped in this store to see if I could find something to spend it on. Unfortunately, I asked a sales associate named Liz a simple question. She was extremely rude and unpleasant.Went up to the second level where they have home furnishings. There were no customers there, however there was one homeless woman asleep in an expensive chair with her dog and a large bag full of her belongings. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

I love this place. But only to look around. The prices are sky-high and you can find the same, or similar, products much cheaper in other storesThe staff is really nice and helpful. Just for example - I needed to but the C4C flour (its the same price everywhere) and I knew that they have it. Unfortunately they ran out of it, but the nice lady in the front helped me to find it in another store in the mall. She was so nice that every time I go there I remember her help.

This is a very organized and good-looking store to shop for fancy kitchen items. They offer a large variety of utensils with good quality. They also host cooking courses (paid and free ones). I attended a Free Technique Class on a Sunday morning about Fall Baking. They were careful enough to have nice handouts with the recipes for everyone and to offer a free tasting of what they were teaching you to make. It was a fairly elaborated recipe for a beginner like myself, mainly because of the utensils used which I dont have at home (nice excuse to be eager to buy them at the store).

I get goosebumps looking around the store. I have no idea what most of the products do, but they are fun to look at. If only I could cook! Well, they have demonstrations to teach you and best of all you can taste the end product. Its a like trick or treat in here for me. Each display is like -what does this do?than there are treats like bread to taste oils. You cant resist bringing at least one bottle home. Going around the store are gadgets that make my head shake. Like how did I ever live without one of THOSE! ok....so I walk out with this silver tea ball holder. Its cute and one day I hope to use it. Tea Party anyone?

Recently my fiancée and I traveled to NY to register for our wedding and this flagship William-Sonoma was the second location we visited. We had a fantastic experience here as we were invited into the store before it opened to have a light breakfast and get vital information about each category of product that we may want to register for (and the differences between items). Our contact, James, was so awesome! He spent 90 minutes with us and a few other couples going around the store, explaining things and answering questions before letting us go off on our own. The whole Store is yours for registering is great and anyone getting married should register here and experience it!

My fiancée and I are from out of state and came into town for a romantic weekend to register at the big nyc department stores for fun. I had contacted this store in advance as they are the flagship store and was pleased to learn they do something special for wedding registering called “the store is yours” where they invite you in an hour or so before the store opens for a private tour for tips on registering and a free light breakfast. James was our host and he was sooo awesome! He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything! He made registering so fun and easy! The selection is huge in the store and organized very well. We walked in and had a question. A big burly man was supposedly the greeter but he was chatting away on the phone with his friend. We waited patiently for him to finish. After a few mins he got annoyed and turned to us and asked yes what do you want?. We asked our question and he curtly said no and rudely turned away to continue his conversation. I was left speechless and walked out. This is how you slowly chip away your brands reputation. Luckily for discerning shoppers Sur la table and Pottery Barn are within two blocks.

Has most everything a kitchen needs. If you cant find it, you dont need it.They have a knife sharpening service. $5 per knife. They of course use a machine but I personally do not have the time or patience to hand sharpen on whetstones every single knife I have. My wustof knives just got back from their first service. A straight sharpened edge. I figure somewhere around a 1000 to 1500 grit finish on these knives. Not a refined polish like a mirror but they cut well. I am just used to finishing my knives on 8000 or higher whetstones so I guess I am spoiled. If you have asian knives (shun or global etc) this location will not sharpen them. The WS down in Chelsea will. Again to a course edge. Dont expect a hand finished mirror for 5 bucks. You want an expensive and hand done sharpening service, go to Korin downtown. Also a hugr fan of the Calphalib elite series non stick pans. I use the 10 fry pan at least 3 times a week and after 4 years...its finally sticking a little. Easier and cheaper just to buy a new one (vs shipping it back to calphalon for warranty service.)

Came here with my then-fiance to complete our wedding registry, and they rolled out the red carpet. Prior to opening on a weekend day, they will allow couples in by appointment, cook you a delicious free breakfast (while appropriately demo-ing different products), and then give you the scanning gun to go wild in the store. We dominated...and learned more than we every thought about the engineering behind specific kinds of cookware. Seriously, I could listen to the salesman James talk for hours...it was like listening to HGTV. Thanks, buddy!Aside from consistently being the kitchen outfitting expert, Williams-Sonoma clearly cares about its customers -- my wife and I are fans for life. Now if only we could move into an apartment/house big enough to store all of our cool gadgets...
