It feels like the traditional markets in China. I went for raw ingredients to cook Chinese dishes at home but found they selling delicious cooked food so I end up with buying lots of cooked dishes. They are much cheaper compared to go to a Chinese restaurant. The egg tarts are really good! Don’t miss that. They are really crowed in the morning but worth it.Will go back in some time.

Their variety of meat could be something that is hard to find in other markets. They also sell a lot of meat in traditional Chinese cuisines like pidgeons, partridges, bullfrogs, yellow-skin and white-skin eels, different kinds of whole ducks and chickens, Chinese fishes, etc.Their prices are also pretty good, and the qualities of the meat and vegetables are pretty good as well. This is a market that my husband and I always go every weekend to buy raw ingredients for Chinese cuisine cooking. The staffs in here are generally more polite and willing to help you compared to other Chinese markets. My guess is that they probably have incentives and rewards if the store reaches a certain amount of revenue each day, which is great for both staffs and customers. The only thing we didn’t like is that it always gets very crowded and the lanes are pretty narrow for people who are walking in both directions, especially on weekend mornings, it’s even hard to walk or bypass someone.

Great prices! They have a diverse selection of meat and prepared foods. I feel a little lost shopping there as someone with little exposure to authentic far-east food. If youre looking to expand your horizons with meat, this is the place to go. They have every part of the pig you could imagine and various jellyfish items. Also a great place to stop if you need a can of soda for 70 cents. The store is bustling with staff who all work very quickly.

If you plan to buy your groceries at this very location, I suggest you to bring your own shopping bags. They will not give you the plastic shopping bag unless they thing you are the regular customer. If they think you dont shop at their store that often, they will ask you if you want to purchase either a 5 cents paper bag or a $1.00 plastic bag. I have spent over $50 of groceries and they want me to by a paper bag. I told the cashier its raining outside. The paper bag will fall apart when its wet. I end up carrying all my groceries with my hands and without the bag. How do you expect your customers to be a regular customer it you dont care about them because of the shopping bag.

Great stuff and not so expensive. On the Elizabeth street entrance side, theres the prepared food section which is nice. They even have two tables for you to eat on. On the Mott street side are the butchered meats and the preprepared stuff that you can just bring home and toss on to the pan and make yourself an instant excellent Chef. Beats having to do things from scratch. If you need help, theres assistance too. The only thing is that it is a little small so do expect to not move quickly because the aisle is cramped and the older customer can only go so fast.

The market has a ton of variety ranging from raw meats and fresh vegetables to cooked dishes. There is a mini bakery full of Asian delicacy. The best value is the lunch box which includes rice along with your choice of 1 veggy and 2 meat dishes all for a base price of $6, the price increases by $0.75 depending on certain meats you get. The market is super crowded so beware of a bunch of people. The staff are chinese speaking mainly Cantonese and mandarin, so heads up to those who dont speak.

Solid Asian grocery store, and plenty of fresh meat that gets turned over really quickly, so generally you dont have to worry about freshness there either. They do have a fresh live fish section and some limited fresh produce, but theyre mostly known for their meat and their cooked food dishes including the roast duck, barbecue pork and roast pork. They have a small bakery as well. Plenty of premarinated meats for the dishes you want to try at home, and cuts of meat that you dont normally find in regular American grocery stores, usually at better prices too.

If you have not had the chance to visit this market you should if only to marvel at the variety of meats and the quality of the greens. I only ordered a meat bun, but I got a glimpse of pig liver, pig tongue, fish balls, prime bones for making broth, and iguana hands just off the top of my head. Worth the browse, if you have time the front of the market has prepared foods where I purchased the bun. Note, when its time to pay just get in there or you will wait forever if you are looking for your turn.

My go-to market in the area for Chinese vegetables, frozen dumplings, and a quick bite for dinner from the hot buffet bar. Cheap and fresh! Just gotta assertively push your way through the human traffic jams (and beware, they push back), but it wouldn’t be an authentic Chinese market any other way. Although the hot bar food is quick and cheap ($3 for a veggie container filled to the brim!), I found the food extremely oily. The bottom half of the container was filled with oil and it made the dish a bit unpleasant.$10 minimum to pay with card. Also, the lady at the cash register always tries to get me to buy some milk dessert when I check out. Appreciate the suggestion but wish she wouldn’t keep pushing it on me..

Comparing to other Chinese grocery places in the area, this place is smaller, more crowded, but cleaner.Grocery selections are limited, but house made frozen food and produce/veggies are solid. They have many prepared food options, normally sell by weight, but if you go there late in the day (after 6pm), they would pack you a big box of cooked mixed veggies for $5 or even less. Roasted meet (duck/pork/pig) are pretty good.Credit card minimum is $10 and they always ask for ID. This place is so crowded, and for good reason. They have so much variety and some very budget friendly options that are great for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. There is no seating. They have two tables that you can stand at while you eat, but thats about it. There is also a supermarket area in the back. The food area has multiple cashiers so the line moved quickly even though they were long. You have to be assertive when its time to order and pay, as the line can get disorganized and people who come after you, may or may not know that youre ready to order, so if youre too polite you might get skipped, even if not intentionally. One of the employees kept pushing me and rushing me on my way out. There was a slow moving crowd in front of me and she kept pushing me. I get that she was dragging a huge bag of garbage and trying to get rid of it, but that was really rude. I dont know if the glove she was touching me with was clean, and where did she expect me to move to?? There was a crowd around us. Im just trying to go outside, like she was.

Deluxe Food Market located in Chinatown, nyc is 1 of the success stories in nyc. They are always quite crowded no matter what time of the day you go in. However, there are periods of time that they are not crowded at all, ie. early morning and early evening. The Deluxe Food Market have better cuts of meat and whatnots, and they will skin the chicken and cut it up whatever way you like. They have cooked food as well, and they also have the BBQ Roast Pork, Roast Pig, Soy Sauce Chicken, Cod Fish and other Chinese delights. The Bakery department is a abundance of treats, but one would have to get there early to get the good stuff. The Covid-19 aka CoronaVirus Pandemic has rendered this store to a fraction of what it is.Check the hours of operations before heading down to Chinatown.

In the beginning when it was at Mott Street, it was a great place. Now with crowded lines, people cutting in front of you, cooked food that frequently causes diarrhea, when getting veggies they choose the ones they cant sell, changing the price tag to an increased price tag when you show interest in it at closing time, and terrible customer service, it is not a place I can not recommend for buying anything other than cold cuts (Ham, Turkey, Cheese). To me, just plain awful.
