Excellent place to play MTG of all formats. If you are like me, An Oldhead magic player just getting back in after a decade away or a brand new player this place is for you. Craig is great to haggle with and will always be transparent with you in negotiation. This has become my go to store.

Excellent prices on Pokemon cards. Probably the best prices Ive seen in Nashville. Great place to hang out and play games. Lots of board games and DnD things for sale. Great atmosphere for anyone who plays or collects cards!

Ripped off on a trade in. Avoid like the plague for trade ins.EDIT: The store replied and doubled down on the opinion that taking 3 days to offer me 2.5k versus another store in Birmingham, AL called Card Addicts took only a day and a half to offer me 6.9k and a Lions Eye Diamond for the same cards was reasonable.Margins are one thing, ripping people off is another. I stand by the fact that I was almost ripped off by this store on a trade in consisting of staple cards including several lands.I would still avoid this place for selling any magic the gathering cards.For anyone that could defend this, think about someone taking almost 4 grand from you in cards. Its not like I sold my cards for retail value either. I sold them to another store for cash, not store credit. Always know what you have before going in to a store. I know we trust stores to provide us with fair values but stores like this one also exist where theyll take you for a ride if you let them.

Its a small shop with all your gaming needs. Very tiny but works just fine. If we are ever in Tennessee again, definitely stopping back.

An algorithm uses math to determine 40% of value of cards for cash. $41 offered for $131 in properly valued cards is not 40% and when I said its not and that math means something I was told to get out. Fantastic trying to lie to people but pick something less obvious as math. 40% of $131 is $52. Sorry the scorched earth was damaged and is worth $40 by itself in a damaged state

The Game Cave is one of the very few Magic stores, I believe, with not only enough space to legally host players to sit and play (with masks on, please do not ruin a good thing for everyone), but, terribly comfortably.The store is very clean. From floor to windows to tables, from restroom to display cabinet. This is my favorite aspect of any store and Travis, the owner, manages it fantastically.You can find basic chips and drinks, singles and sealed product. Cans are $1. There is Asian, Gyros and Philly Cheese steaks, as well as a liquor store in the strip mall.Parking is sort of two levels. The upper level, behind the store and the lower infront. I thought the lower area was a bit sus, sort of wish the strip mall had a little more powerful lighting. Theres definitely a lot of unsavory characters due to the liquor store, Ill say.Travis stayed open late for us to finish our game, without nary a nag. I was elated and blown away to be taking copies of copies of extra turns before my 3 friends gave up and I won my forst victory of the whole day. Wonderful experience.You owe yourself to visit The Game Cave. OH, and beware the Google hours he has posted. When I went he was open 2 hours earlier than displayed, despite it being updated only 2 weeks ago.

I visited the new location on Dec 26th. It surprised me that the store was almost empty. The old location was always packed. The cashier barely acknowledged me as I entered. After some perusing, I decided to purchase the new Codex Space Marines. I went up to the counter to pay, but the cashier was still looking at magic cards. After ignoring me for several minutes, the cashier went into the back of the store, without even acknowledging my existence. I put the Codex back and left. I really hope this isn’t indicative of the new direction of the store, but I will not be going back there for a while.

Staff not very attentive to new people while regulars/friends are there.

I brought my 15 yr old because he wanted to play in a Friday night Magic tournament. It was his first time and the staff and other customers could not have been nicer. They encouraged him and helped him with his deck and were generous beyond what you’d expect. I left with a happy teen! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

They have obviously been hit hard by the coronavirus. The store is mostly empty, but we have visited in the past and the place was awesome. So, maybe after this virus is over, and their business picks back up, Ill change it to 5 stars.

The Game Cave is exactly what you want your local game store to be. The owners are amazing, and Josh is so supportive of all of the game systems that my gaming group plays. The loyalty system is extremely easy to understand and rewards you regularly based on time and purchases. Their stock in the store is great, but they will order you anything you need if its not there. Those orders often get there quickly as well. The gaming space is excellent as well, with awesome tabletop miniature games resources like mats and terrain, and lots of room to play board and card games. I highly recommend The Game Cave for every gamer!

Lovely shop with friendly staff and a varied selection. We were passing through and wanted to check out a game store when we found The Game Cave. Its clean and well lit with a small demo section with all sorts of games! Next time Im in Nashville, I know Ill come check it out again.

This place is constantly evolving, Ive been a frequent visitor since its inception and I can tell you its always a good time here, whether you are playing magic the gathering or some sort of table top game youll have a great time.

The rating isnt the stores fault, its the customers. If youre into cards or D&D, youll probably like this place. If youre into any other game system, forget it, they dont stock anything but 5E. Theres the obligatory Warhammer section. The owners a nice guy and would like to carry other lines but his customer base just isnt interested. Same problem as Game Keep, cant stock what you cant sell. Try Shadowrun, folks, or Fate, or any of the hundreds of other systems. 5E is not the only game in the world.

Excellent Customer service. If you are looking for singles or packs for MTG they most likely have what you want.

Was my go-to place for trading cards. Theyve been understaffed the last few visits and unable to evaluate cards and make trades. If they would fix staffing issues, it would be worth a revisit.

Wow! An excellent selection of board games for those enthusiasts who crave something new. They even had games that were available to try. The staff were very informative and helpful. Prices were also very satisfactory.

Lord, help me. As soon as my income starts rolling in again, I can guarantee that Ill be spending a good chunk of my time and resources solely on the Gunpla they have in-stock. I havent found anywhere local that sells perfect grade kits, but this place definitely does.

A model game store. Clean, friendly, plenty of space to play. Caters to Magic, board games, miniatures games, and RPGs. The selection of product isnt enormous, but they do a good job of keeping up with what is new and/or popular. And if they dont have something on the shelves, they can get it quickly. But mostly the owners have done a great job of creating a hang out and play atmosphere, including having a considerable game library.

Friendly store owners with 50+ people there for Friday Night Magic. A strong mix of young, experienced, and generous people there for a Magic pre-release the following weekend. Only thing missing are plastic hard shell deck boxes!Came here in search of Dragon Shield card sleeves and a welcoming place to play Magic the Gathering.

Its a great place to play many types of games, from card, to board, to miniatures. There is a huge assortment of games and gaming accessories. The staff are very nice and helpful. Everyone there were nice and frie.

Such a great store! Went to my first Friday Night Magic Event and both staff and players were very accommodating and friendly to a new Magic player. Will definitely be supporting this store while I live in the area.

Cave always delivers excellent customer service, and everyone on staff knows their product. Travis and Clay always take good care of me, and I know theres some other quality people involved as well. They stay event oriented which I love. Great place to pick up a game from the beginning, or join a community already going.

Best game store in town! Picked up Gloomhaven for an excellent price. The staff was nice and the selection was amazing.

Friendly. Clean. Mix of stock but not as diverse as its quirkier competition. Focus leans to games that have tournaments.

Place is nice, clean, staff is friendly too. Its a great place for card players, and the store really back MTG well. Which I dont blame them, its the cash cow of the gaming world. But they also have a decent selection of Model gaming for Warmachine, but Model gaming isnt their main focus. If they had more model based gamers, and tables it be perfect. The store does close a little early. Last they are willing to do orders for you which is great. 4/5

I have been playing MTG at this store regularly for a year and love the atmosphere. The owners are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They run great events on a regular basis and they really try to make it fun for everyone.

The GameCave is the best place to play in Nashville period. I was close to giving up MTG for good due to experiences at other game stores in the area where Sharks and Competitive players run rampant and do not foster to the growth of newer players. Dave invited me out to his store to game before it had even opened. From day one Dave and John created a community instead of a business. Later Travis came and added even more to the atmosphere. The game cave rewards all its players above and beyond other stores. From promotions to giveaways. At The Game Cave its not about the money but about the games themselves and it shows in the people and the community built. I wish The Game Cave to be open for many years to come. May the cards be ever in your favor!

Cool place for card and board games, with space to play with friends

I quit playing games for about four or five years. I kept trying to get back into them over and over. I would go into a store (in the Nashville area) and felt they were just running a business and messy looking ones at that. Then in late 2013 I was looking around again and then a new store was coming to town The Game Cave. Dave, John and Travis have built a great place to play. They did not open a business but a community. They host many different games. You will find so many welcoming players here with many different levels of play, casual and hardcore. I cant get enough of this place.

Loved this place. Visited for my sons magic card collection. Lots of gaming action going on. Its worth the visit.

Checked out the store for the first time today. Saw a nice amount of Gundam, WH40k, and plenty of MTG. They had other stuff there too. Store was roomy, clean, and nice. Very cool

This place is pretty awesome, I go here to play a game they dont sell (not their fault, nobody does) and theyve always gone out of their way to make sure that even I, the non regular feels comfortable. The owner is 2nd Amendment awesome and this store stays very clean compared to some local less than favorites. Definitely check them out if youre in the area, you wont be dissapointed.

Store closes early with out warning occasionally. Makes promises to stay open late for the gamers but doesnt keep them. Approaches for help with marketing then just disappears without a word after the work has already been started and people brought in to do the work and leaves people hanging. I hear that the new owner makes it better but I am not willing to put my money in this place anymore. History is the same story from two different stores.Very poor board game selection as well. Look elsewhere for your board games.

My husband loves this place. I appreciate it because I know that some people need drugs and alcohol for entertainment, but this is a place where my husband can hang with his buddies, and I can just relax and enjoy me time with no worries about my husband.

These guys are the best. I havent been able to go for a while but they know a ton about magic and Travis had helped me put most of my ideas together.

Owners are kind and caring. They love to sit and talk with their customers, especially travis and clay. They really love to help new magic players.Only downside to the store are all the nerds who show up at about 6pm to play Magic. Most of them smell and play too seriously. Id say they need to get laid, but looking at them I dont think thats a possibility.

The staff there acts like everyone knows EXACTLY what they want. Do not go in expecting any help or a friendly face. Staff just rrally likes to stand around and talk to each other.
