Bought a 2017 Chevy Volt from Current Automotive and salesman, Joe DiMaggio. It was an absolute fantastic car buying experience and super refreshing after a few months of terrible car shopping experiences with other salespeople and dealers. It’s also awesome to have a dealer that 100% deals in electric/hybrid vehicles. When I test drove Volt’s at non-electric dealers, the cars were never charged and the sales people were clueless on the vehicles themselves.Post purchase I noticed the inflator/flat kit wasn’t in the car. I contacted Joe and he took care of it and mailed me one no questions asked. Great experience. Highly recommend this dealer if you’re looking for a used EV.

We’re used to pushy salespeople, dishonesty, and hidden fees at dealers. I’m thrilled to report that we found none of this at Current. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable (many being former Tesla employees), friendly, and accommodating. They patiently answered our many questions, sent follow-up pictures, and made sure we were completely comfortable with the process. There are also no dealer or doc fees. Once we were ready to pull the trigger, they were quick to set everything up and got us out the door in about an hour. This was a completely stress-free process and we cannot be happier with our first EV!

I never leave negative reviews unless my experience is extraordinarily horrible. Keeping it short, my experience with trusting this dealership to register my vehicle out of state has been a complete nightmare! Here I am almost 3 months post purchase and my registration has still not been processed. The dealership is not taking ownership and continues to shift the blame to their 3rd party registration company. I have been so patient and trusting but after the conversation I had today with the dealership and the 3rd party registration company (whom contradicted each other) I have no faith that I will tag. After two months on an expired tag, I have stopped driving the vehicle at this point. Disappointed is an understatement.

I was contacted online since I had my car advertised on cars.com. They offered me a somewhat low price at first but after talking to them for a bit we agreed on a number. I was highly skeptical at first. Did my research etc and decided to proceed. I must admit this was the easiest car sale I have ever done. They overnighted me docs to sign and send back in their pre-paid envelope. No joke, within 48 hrs my loan was paid off and picked up the car the following week. I cant say enough about the value the Current team brought to my car buying experience. I have bought many cars in my life, and there was never an experience that came close to this one. I was searching for a fairly hard-to-find hybrid EV. In the Chicago area, there were only 3 available and only one that had the features I was looking for. I had test driven the vehicle from one of the other dealerships in the area and wasnt sure about the car - and was definitely sure I didnt want to buy from the dealership.I happened to be near Current automotive and thought I would give that vehicle one last drive to see if I liked it or not.I drove the car and loved it. Next was the painful part. I had to discuss a trade-in (if they even did that for my non EV car). Typically, this is when I want to walk out of a dealership and bring my money elsewhere...but they are all the same, right? Not in this case. Because they dont resell non-EV vehicles directly, this ended up being the most pleasant trade-in experience I have ever experienced (with anything). I wont go into the details, but it was kinda fun...and I ended up getting something relatively close (within hundreds) of what I would likely have gotten trying to sell it outright, without the hassle of having to sell it outright.So that was cool, but I still had to buy the new car. I was not financing, but Joe (DiMaggio - no kidding) still treated me as I would have wanted. The location itself was no-frills, but comforting. He was super pleasant and thoughtful the entire time. He had me out of there as quickly and painlessly as possible. There were things he needed from my trade-in (that I didnt have with me), and I was able to just send them after I got back home (in a pre-paid envelop no less).The fun however, was not over, I hadnt been able to test the charging cable (because I was in a hurry) and when I got home, there was a PIN associated with it - set by the previous owner. That was frustrating...however, I called several dealerships to get it resolved, to no avail. More frustration. So I reached back out to Joe. He sent a temp charging cable and then worked with me over the period of a few days to get the factory cable back to him so he could find the right resource to get it reset. In the end, he went way above and beyond what I would expect after purchasing a used vehicle. I didnt ever have to pay a cent to get things shipped back and forth, and the communications were quick and courteous at all times.If I ever plan to purchase another used EV, there is a 100% chance I will make the 60 mile drive back to Current. And hey, how many places can you go to say you bought a car from Joe DiMaggio?!! Kudos and keep up the excellent work!

Fantastic dealer! The specialize in electric vehicles and scanning their lot, I think they have pretty close to every EV so far in one place to compare and pick between. No more going from one manufacturer dealer to another everything in one place (assuming its an EV). On top of that very friendly staff all around and Kevin was very helpful.As a bonus the trade in experience which is horrible at a normal dealer was very easy and pleasant there. They dont keep non EVs so they are very transparent about what you can get and its dead simple. Went into the day knowing what my old car was worth and expecting to have to sell it elsewhere but didnt have to because they actually paid what it was worth.Definitely recommend if your in the market for an EV.

Found a car online, called them up, and within a few days the car was on my way - they detailed it for me, sent me LOTS of pictures, put new tires on it, and kept me appraised every step of the way. Heck, even the paperwork they had to send was convenient, a lot of sign here sticky notes to make the job as painless as paperwork can be. All told, this has been the best car buying experience Ive ever had, and Ive never even been to the lot!

In my journey to purchase a Tesla Model 3 I called many dealers, I can say with confidence you will not find better customer service then here. I spoke with Kevin and Joe, I called them multiple times and asked different questions and they always made time to answer or follow up. With other dealers they have this thing about time is money and if I am asking question and not buying they do not want to speak with me. I cant explain it any other way, If you want your next electric used vehicle I can assure you this is your dealer. Also I bought my Tesla somewhere else because the demands is very high and needed a car right away, so this is not a paid review by them. I wish they had the specific model my fiancé and I were looking for but they just did not have it at the time. I bought a barely used Nissan Leaf 100% online. Though a bit nervous about buying a car sight unseen, it worked great. The team at Current is very helpful, communicative, accommodating and friendly. I was able to order my car online and received it about a week later, delivered via an 18 wheeler. The only thing missing was the user manual that apparently didnt get left in the car when they acquired it (and is online). I decided to trade my existing car with my local Carvana vs. trading via Currents website during the transaction as they offered a better price.In all, the best car buying experience. The only negative is not being able to test drive, but I was able to get a feel for one at my local dealership (who did not have the style/model I was seeking).

I was treated horribly by the staff I made an appointment ahead of time and drove for over an hour and when I got there I was ignored was never really given any assistance all the workers were busy with other people then I tried to buy a car but they sold it to someone else!

There was an issue with the onboard charger within days of purchase and Current found a local Kia dealer who could do the replacement and took the car in for me since its still under warranty. I purchased 2016 Tesla Model X. Im actually live in Texas, so I couldnt see the car actually. When I received the car, it was perfect I thought. But, someday I found the broken parts from the spoiler. It wasnt showing the pictures when I purchased it.I talked Kevin who was the sales person of my car. He offer me 50% reimburse for fix. Its used car and people buying whatever condition is. I was very thankful for helping me. I really recommend buy car here even if you live in different state.
