This is our new go to brunch spot! Amazing food. Our favorites are the corned beef hash, captain crunch french toast, and kids silver dollar pancakes with strawberries. Sides are equally delicious with house made sausage, proper ham and grits, etc. Wash it down with fresh coffee and mimosas. All in a COVID safe outdoor environment where we are seated and served quickly. Staff is friendly, and parking free and easy. What more could you want?

First time here and definitely won’t be my last. I was searching for a restaurant that serves biscuits and gravy in Mooresville since I am new to this area. This please did not disappoint, the restaurant is so nice inside and clean, friendly staff. The food was delicious, the potatoes were well seasoned and so soft.

Very nice, busy but they got us seated in under 15 minutes and the service was great. Food is wonderful from the coffee to the hash browns and bacon, pancakes are tasty and fluffy and my wheat toast was an artisan style. I highly recommend this place.. oh and it has a full bar!I will try a mimosa the next time I visit!

Delicious food! We loved it. Portions were large, even the juice. Best corned beef hash I’ve ever eaten. We were joined by several others halfway through the meal and everyone agreed the food was excellent. One star off for service. It was very slow. The food took ages and my husband had to go find the waitress several times, to request the side of fruit we had ordered and to ask her to come take the orders of the later guests. She was pleasant but never returned to make sure all was well or to give coffee refills, and the restaurant was only moderately busy. However, if you are willing to wait for really good food, the wait is worth it.

Food was delightful. Great boozy mimosas. Fast and attentive service. Friendly staff. Had a BIG breakfast and 3 mimosas for $30! Cant ask for more than that!

Good food, fresh everything and the potatoes were fried to a good crisp. All of the food was cooked perfectly and the prices weren’t bad for what you get.Also, offers a lot of drink options for mimosas and coffee liquors. It wasn’t crazy busy on Saturday morning.The only problem we had was that it took a really long time to get any drinks and two of us never got our waters or one of the drinks.

Somehow they seem to stay right on top of things in ways Ive rarely seen as a lifelong member of the restaurant industry.An absolute gem.

Interesting chicken and wafflesSun Up Cafe was the only place I found that I really wanted to checkout for breakfast while in Mooresville that was close-ish to our hotel.I got the classic french toast, bacon, and scrambled eggs with cheese. The food was nothing I would absolutely have to have again but it was good and it was faster than most other breakfast places I have been to. My cheese wasnt melted on the eggs. I didnt even think about asking for the cheese to be melted since 95% of the time I order scrambled eggs with cheese, the cheese is always melted in the eggs mixed. Just keep that in mind if you like the cheese melted like I do. You would just need to ask for it to be melted.If I am ever in town again, I would come back and try something a bit different. Perhaps their doughnut holes, pancakes and their bakery items later in the day.My boyfriend got the chicken & waffles. The chicken was awesome. They were soaked in buttermilk and fried. They didnt exactly go with the waffle that was finished with their maple bourbon butter sauce....the combo did not go great for him since the chicken actually tasted like it had been seasoned with some type of Italian seasoning. I didnt mind the combo. I liked it but he just ate it separate so that worked too.We had great service. This place was very fast too. On their menu they even say that it is in a timely manner. You really have to follow up with that if you put it on your menu at the top, and they did. I appreciated that since we were on a deadline of when we had to leave.Their breakfast is on the average pricing level I would say out of all the places I have been to breakfast at.Side note: The bakery here was not staffed this early in the morning. The server said she could figure it out probably but I told her not to worry about it as to not cause any extra work for her.

Alright its a really awesome place honestly. The inside is clean, warming, really nice atmosphere overall. Traditional Benedict is really delicious as well as chicken and waffles. 10/10 would recommend! Its a really cool place and its always really busy.

The food is always great!! I had the Cobb salad and it was great. The potato salad was delicious!!

Customer service was extremely good. Waitress was knowledgeable, and had a great personality. The cafe has an extensive menu. It was hard to choose a meal. The chicken was a tad overcooked, but no complaints otherwise.

It was very busy and had to wait which I didn’t mind. I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was bland. I assume it was because they were busy but the butter syrup was great with the waffles. I do recommend this place.

The place was full of flies in the window and dead ones on floor . Food was on floor no one swept up at all .

We waited for over ten mins after being sat didnt get greeted by a server yet the couple who came in after us was greeted within a few mins to get their drinks oh yeah we still hadnt received any service still. I get it your busy and Im glad you are but dont let someone sit there for over ten mins without any acknowledge. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

This is one of my favorite places to eat breakfast after su day service with the family. Always vusy but has a great energy and lots of light coming through the front windows.

The breakfast was really good. Our server Brooke was great. The only disagreeable part was the lack of respect by fellow patrons. They gathered MASKLESS in the entryway standing over diners.

I would go here a couple times a week if I lived close by.

Old standby for breakfast. Corned beef hash, shrimp and grits, and omelets FTW. Good friendly service first thing in the morning keeps us coming back.

Delicious, but high prices and the air conditioner was out

They send us to the bar to get our drinks while we wait on a table just to be ignored because were standing and not sitting. We were paying customers!! Worse service ever !!!!

First time eating here. Had huevos rancheros benedict for breakfast. It was very good. Fast service, clean, spread out environment. Nice options on the menu, with traditional breakfast items as well as some unique flavorful options. They also have a bakery! We will be back!

What happened to this place? Wife and I showed up and sat at the bar for 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us. There was one other couple at the bar, the rest was empty. There were 6 severs and maybe 10-12 tables and they were getting worked over like a Friday night, sad. We use to be at Sun Up every weekend but won’t be back after this experience.

Ive yet to have a bad experience at Sun Up Cafe! The wait can be a bit tough sometimes but that just shows how much Sun Up Cafe is worth it! Their chicken and waffles are delectable and the mimosas are to notch. I definitely recommend!

Kind of an off putting place....advertises brunch yet has no brunch at brunch time...just lunch...which is why its a 3 star review (also the only reason we stopped) Why advertise for something you dont offer. 😂 the waitress was ok,, not very attentive.. waited awhile after eating for the check while her and another chatted. (No it was not busy 2 other tables and another server) other than that the food was good, my fiancés food was wrong, didnt come with everything on it mentioned in the menu, but he ate it and liked it.. As long as youre not expecting brunch at a brunch place, or to get food you order.....and in a hurry, Id suggest this place..

Food was great and prices were lower than expected. Service was fast despite being quite busy (10-15 minute wait for table of 2). I had the breakfast quesadilla and my wife had the quiche, both were great. There were other menu items that we want to go back and try. Should have checked this place out. before now!

Modern, tasteful interior, very clean, though the high walls made it quite loud when it got crowded. The food was absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced for the quality. I had the smoked salmon omelette, which was spectacular!!! Our waitress Kendall was very friendly and attentive. Great find!

Great new breakfast and lunch cafe with awesome food and service.Already one of my favorite places.The pancakes are generous in size and have great texture, thanks to the flattop grill and butter base.I cant say the flavor is anything extraordinary, but theyre definitely better than most.Love their selection of premium coffee drinks as well.

Food was OK - definitely not bad, but not necessarily above average. Brie French Toast is an awesome idea, but it wasnt mind-blowing like we thought itd be. Atmosphere felt kind of bland and cold for a breakfast place - not homey or warm. Id say this place was 3 stars, since everything Ive said so far isnt outright BAD, but what really fell short was the service. Our server didnt seem to be interested in being there at all. She probably spoke 7 sentences from seating us to dropping the check, and 3 of those sentences were mmhmm. It felt like we were getting in her way by being at her table.

We have been frequenting this cafe for the last 2 years, in the more recent months this place seems to be going downhill, Attitude from servers, bathroom cleanliness. Food options are pretty basic and specials or special plates are non existent.The food they do have is always too notch! But in such a local small establishment I would like to see more specials and varieties of the breakfast type, Benedict’s, omelets, and other brekfast plates

Hostess was not friendly. Table was still dirty when we were taken to our seats. When I asked to have the table cleaned off there was no apology for the leftover crumbs. The food was very good. The waitress was overwhelmed but nice. The overall energy of the place was unfriendly.

Stopped by this place while travelling. Cute place and the menu looked good. Got a pastry Here and it tasted very freezer burnt. :( the staff was nice and Im sure theyd correct it if I just wasnt passing by. Theyre tea is delicious though!!

First time trying this place and I was not disappointed except to the fact that they didnt let us have bourbon syrup with our pancakes, even though we told them they could charge us whatever they want, money was not the problem here. We knew we wanted bourbon syrup because my uncle highly recommended it and has had it served with his other meal options before, but the head chef on duty that day mustve been in a bad mood. He had the server relay to us that it only comes with the chicken and waffles option, and last time we had the chicken here it was sub par. Dont be discouraged though. Other times they have been able to work with us, had the manager been there it may have been a different outcome, but I understand in the food industry chefs feel entitled, even though they should just be a chef like theyre asked to be. None the less, bourbon syrup less, me and my family still enjoyed an amazing breakfast. I ordered chocolate chip waffles, which were very good. The waffles are a bit thick and are filling so maybe order one at a time. Potato wedges looked very good as well, and there was no room to complain past the first hiccup. My server remained composed throughout this situation, which many servers get petty or flustered. Not our server, she had what we call service with a smile, and handled as much as she could have in her power, and we were not mad or sad at all due to this. We still had a great meal, and left full and happy. Definitely recommend but dont get the chicken and waffles just for the syrup, just maybe ask for the syrup on the side and hope they can work with you that day. Other than that, enjoy your amazing breakfast spot!

Very friendly staff that always greets like old friends. Sometimes the wait can get a little lengthy but the staff does everything they can to cut it down. The coffee tastes like it was made by a coffee drinker (not burnt like Starbucks). We love their breakfast so we go about once a week. Havent been to lunch enough to have much of an opinion. Prices are ok, but the quality and staff make up for it.

One of the best breakfasts Ive ever had!The scrambled eggs were perfect. The home fries were crispy with the right amount of salt. The ham was sliced thin, but was filled with taste. The pancake was the best Ive ever had. Ill for sure be visiting this place more often.

The staff knows what we want and are always attentive. The food is awesome! A little unique, but familiar enough to give you that comfort food feel. Never been disappointed! Great shrimp and grits and pancakes! Yum!

Food was not good for my likings. Bacon was hard and tasteless. Got the Greek omelette and it had an overwhelming amount of whole olives in not much egg. Potatoes cold and service was slow which it took 3 times to just get a hot tea right I could go on but I think ya got the picture. I just like to enjoy myself especially when Im paying to enjoy myself! Will not return :(

This place used to be our favorite... but the service has gotten slower & slower each time we go recently. We had to ask for basics this morning like refills on coffee among other things. Hopefully it will improve soon because the food has always been great.

If you’re an avid brunch goer like myself, this place is worth trying. I always get the sausage and gravy biscuits, they won’t let you down. They also have a full coffee bar which is nice.

So far everything has been great here. I have been here a couple of times for brunch and never dissatisfied. Great because you can get breakfast all day.

This was the worst dining experience of my life. It took 20 min to get a Bloody Mary. After getting our waters we were told they were “not doing breakfast” anymore. Then when the server saw we were disappointed, she went back to the kitchen and then told us never mind they’d do breakfast. So we ordered. After 10 minutes, she comes back and says they’ve already turned off and cleaned the waffle maker. I asked if sausage gravy was available and she said she’d “check to see if they already dumped it.” They hadn’t even started on any of the other food at the table so we paid for our coffees and Bloody Mary and left. We came in over an hour before close. Will never go back.

Wow! Everything from breakfast to lunch that Ive had so far is great! Thick cuts of bacon, nice, fluffy pancakes, awesome mimosa menu. I think, though, my favorite by far is the Chicken and Waffle. Great wait staff and the food comes out crazy quick. Thanks Sun Up, Ill be in for some coffee soon!

Loved the shrimp and grits that they will make even for breakfast. Fresh fruit and eggs were all delicious.

They used to custom make their Bloody Marys which was one of the reasons we would go there. On our most recent visit I asked for the Bloody Mary check list to check off my ingredients and was told they didn’t have any. I think they didn’t want to be bothered. That’s fine, but don’t advertise “Bloody Mary Bar” on your awning if you just serve vodka and tomato juice.

Not so good today. Long wait at table for drinks and food. Just not enough help today.

This is my favorite place to eat whenever I am in Mooresville! The food is incredible and the service is fast and attentive. Its never too crowded here either. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict.

Breakfast was very good. Eggs were perfectly cooked, even on the order of poached eggs. Portions were pleasantly appropiate, not super-sized. Server was fast, anticipated our needs and friendly.

Great food and staff has always been so nice. Freshness in the food is important and this place does not let you down. Try something with avocado and you’ll see!

The food was wonderful, pancakes and bacon on a Sat afternoon yum. My daughter whom is very picky when it comes to salmon, had the salmon omelete and really enjoyed it. The manager who sat us was not that pleasant but the waitress Jennifer was wonderful. Sun up is def a new breakfast place for us.

Awesome service and amazing food! The mimosa menu is the best in town and the shrimp and grits benedict is phenomenal! If you want specialty mimosas, this is the place for you. They also have a Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary menu, which is so cool. You really cant go wrong with anything you order though. Kendyl is the the best. Shes always attentive and cares about making sure everything is perfect. The specialty French toasts are delicious as well. We will be back very soon!

Waited 15 minutes to place order. A couple came in behind us and evidently new the place , they ordered immediately . Lesson learned. Then when we said we had a short turn around time, the waitress was a bit brusque, everyone does. No warm fuzzies for us! Food was fine, portions were good.
