I love this stores organization and selection. The mens section is dwarfed by the womens section, but Ive always found more items here than I intended to buy. For me this is my go to thrift shop when seeking casual to dress menswear. Nearly everything is gently used to like new in condition. The prices are generally good. Check the tags to see if its currently full price, or if youre getting 50%-75% off. Usually, Im shopping for fun and tend to seek out those deals. My teenage daughter likes this store too!
It smells odd in here and I’m 99% sure they sell fake designer goods. I asked about authentication and the woman couldn’t answer me. I don’t recommend coming here to buy any used luxury goods but the regular clothing rack is good!
Used to love Nu Look and would stop in whenever I wanted to treat myself to a mini shopping spree. Unfortunately will not be returning due to blatant racial profiling. Whenever Ive gone there with my mom, there was an older white woman who said we were delightful. I visited again with my black boyfriend and we were followed everywhere we went, which is very obvious in a store so small. While in the shoes department, saw the same woman peering at us through an opening in the break room. I am black, have patronized them for years and was so hurt by the treatment we received. This is one small, local business I can no longer support.
I actually love how packed the racks are - just means a better chance of a find. You do have to go when you have the energy to look through a lot. I find the prices to be reasonable and in line with other consignment clothing shops in the Twin Cities metro, or maybe even slightly better. Great sales. Some designer stuff but the bulk of the clothes are from stores like Anthropologie, J Crew, Nordstrom in-house brands, etc. The nature of consignment means that sometimes I leave empty handed and sometimes will find a bunch of items.
A lot of really outdated designs but there are some gems!
My first time here last week with 4 girlfriends. We all scored big. I have never seen so much Eileen Fisher in one place before! The gal working was friendly and helpful. Prices are what you would expect for higher end items. I will put this on my list of places to go when Im shopping in the cities. Wish I could have spent another hour in there but I can only handle wearing my mask for so long 😜
Staff is condescending and rude, most of them have their masks hanging down below their noses. Selection is mostly tacky af, its like theyre stuck in 2005. They make a big to-do about only taking clothes that are 3 years old or newer, but somehow everything in this place feels dated.
Bought high end brand names for a small fraction of the cost, and items were in great condition. I am BLOWN AWAY at how much I saved. 👏🏻👏🏻
I’ve only shopped here twice but both times were great experiences. So clean and organized for having so much packed into a small space. The clothes are good quality for thrift. The prices are a bit expensive but the sales a great!
Men section so small I have more clothes in my closet
Well priced and organized. Clean and sanitary.
Awesome consignment shop! I always find something I love here and there are always good deals to be had.
Great prices and great quality clothing! Its exciting to find fancy brands I like for my daughter and I for a fraction of the price!
Prices are rediculously high for used clothes. Tjmaxx is more reasonably priced higher end than this place
The store is overstocked with too much used clothing. Although clothing has a high turn around it would be nice to see what is on the racks. I would also like to see a better variety of other items for sale. The high prices are typical for a consignment store when the profits have to be divided between the seller and the store. For example: A shirt that sells for $2 at a yard sale turns into a $5 shirt when it goes on consignment.A simple greeting and thank you would be nice.I have to agree with the other people who have commented that the store is indeed very cluttered and somewhat dirty. The store does have other yard sale type items for sale other than clothing but know they are sold AS IS. Don’t come back to them after you get it home. Try it out in the store first! Finally, I have read some defensive remarks from the store to those who give this business less than a 5* review. Perhaps learning and fixing the problems would be a better solution so the next customer experience would be even better. 😊
Love these guys and gals.
Found some great deals and enjoyed looking around. Dont bother trying to push a cart through the isles because theres not much room to navigate. Delicately worth stopping by and taking a look.
Primarily womens clothes, but they do carry some mens items and have a relatively large maternity section. As far as their consignment terms, you get 50% of whatever they charge the end user for the item(s), which seems better than other places I looked at. It took over 60 days for my items to sell, but again, I think thats more of a function of the smaller mens section than the foot traffic the store gets or their pricing.
Alright consignment place. Pretty good quality items, but its mostly stuff that I find myself asking Who would buy this? Maybe Im just not in their demographic, but I always leave disappointed and having bought nothing. Their clothing is well cared for, though and staff seems pretty nice. Ive never consigned here so I cant speak for that part of it.
Awesome
I went here to consign some gently worn or never used items. Some of the items still had original tags. The lady took 45 minutes to tell me my never been worn or barely worn clothes were “too worn.” She had clearly not even disturbed the items in the bags. I am plus size and most clothes were L/XL or size 14. “Too worn” indeed.
Great atmosphere, and they have ensured to keep their clients safe during this time.
Best selection, lowest prices. I always check the sale room downstairs for the best deals!
Really good prices and great selection. This place has womens, kids and mens clothes. Prices are much better than many other consignment stores. My teenage daughter loves it.
This is one of the best used clothing stores in the twin cities. Of course, that means you have to hit it several times per year and you may walk away with nothing. However, no other store has the number of suits, dress pants, and reasonably priced shoes as Nu Look. Also, it is worth noting that a lot of people shop here, so the turnover in inventory is very high. If you dont purchase something and go back a week later, it will likely be gone.
I like buying used clothes that are in terrific condition. Better yet, an Italian deli next door!
Wonderful consignment shop with a great variety to choose from, and its always well organized.
Decent stuff, some really good finds, and GREAT prices!!! Requires less sifting than other thrift stores like Goodwill or Salvation army
LOVE shopping at Nulook. Great variety from baby’s to adults. Great prices and a fun place to really dig around and find those fantastic bargains. 😀
Great spot! HUGE selection of items, ranging from high end labels to lower end bargains. They have a corner that houses their nicest, high end pieces where you can find Coach, Uggs, Prada... just everything. I also really like this location because they have a good selection of mens items, which isnt as common as I would like. I love going here with my husband and shopping around together. We both always find something to buy.
If you take a little time you can find great deals on higher end clothes. I am always happy when I shop there.
They always have good prices👍And lots if options
I am very disappointed with this store I brought the ten nice bins of clothing that were very clean and almost new just like new the items on their racks. The workers reached inside the bins grabbed handfuls and did not even look at any individual item then just shoved then back in. Do not get me wrong everything was nice if your clothing did not cost $200 to begin with do not waste your time just a bunch of prudish old women. The only thing they wanted was pink alligator shoes????out of ten bins of nice clean clothing.
Always a great place to find something nice for a great price.
This is one of my favorite 2nd hand stores in all of Minneapolis! Selection is always top quality, it is clean and organized superbly (by style first, then size and color) and their pricing is exceptional.
I found good deals and sold clothes and felt like it was easy and I got paid. Make sure of you have a lot of stuff to sell that you call ahead and make an appointment or they will not be pleased... :)
First visit. Good, plentiful selection. Bought 4 items for less than $30.Lots of complaints in the reviews about attitude. The staff didnt seem elitist or stuck up to me, just quiet and non-engaging, or maybe miserable. Perhaps theyre all introverts or the working conditions are poor.
We ended up not using them but the women were very sweet
I am the owner of Nu Look and I am glad to see the positive feedback but very sad and surprised to see the negative remarks. I personally will address any one with a problem from now on. We will have a complaint form and I will respond to every single one. Any negative treatment of a customer is unacceptable. No excuses. We have been in business 35 years. We will try harder, lower our prices, and improve services starting today.
Cute little store, the customer service was very snotty and rude....lots of stuff i wanted to buy but the workers made me feel as if they were watching me as if i was stealing so i bought nothing.
Friendly professional staff, helpful even when theyre really busy. Love consigning here! And shopping is fun too!
Huge selection of high quality consignment. The store is well organized and clean.
Friendly staff, stylish clothes at amazing process (generally with a great selection).
Seriously dont bother. If there is one wrinkle on your clothes or you dont look like their type of shopper, they wont take your stuff. I saw them dig through my box of clothing, not even looking at half of it. They passed up on Anthropologie shirts from last season. On top of that, they were extremely rude and judgemental. They seem to be gushingly sweet to anyone buying, but treat sellers like trash.
Huge consignment store (2 floors) with something for everyone! Womens, mens, childrens, teens, shoes, handbags, accessories, etc. Great quality, name brand, like new condition.
The best place in town for great deals. Staff is kind and helpful.
I always find treasures at a reasonable price.
Love, love, love this place. I have been shopping here for over 25 years (from Age 16). Yeah, the parking is wonky; hey, its in Minneapolis. Yes, things can be out of place (on a busy Saturday), Yes its crowded (hello...popular place) Yes, everyone has a bad day-who doesnt-guilty. This is no reason to not shop here. I had found some amazing deals and over the years saved 10s of 1000s of dollars not shopping full retail. LV luggage, Givency shoes, Chanel suit, Chloe handbag, Burberry glasses, Mark Jacobs everything. Its a GOLD MINE! Ive worked my way up the corporate ladder and this place has helped me look like $1M. Not to mention at least 8 pairs of Hudson jeans each under $60.Highly recommend.
Beware there are no returns or exchanges on clothes. I find this crazy for a consignment store. Also the women that work there are just rude. Not friendly. The racks are stacked way too full of clothes, some missing buttons or pilling.
Had a lot of variety, staff was helpful.
They have such great stuff for such reasonable prices. I have both shopped and consigned here, and both have been great experiences.
One of my favorite places to shop for slightly used merchandise. They carry purses, scarves, jewelry, apparel, shoes, baby clothes, mens clothes and womens clothes.
Too spendy but nice to look at.
Parking and other minor distractions aside -Be aware that if you consign w/NuLook, and they dont sell your items within a given time frame, theyre apparently free to sell them and keep the proceeds for themselves. When you consign, nulook has your phone, email and log-in account. They will make no attempt to contact you - they simply sell your items for their own benefit. If you want to give items away, Goodwills probably a better way to go, versus donating to a for-profit entity that makes no attempt to contact you before they sell your items and pocket the income.Im sure its in the fine print on the signover doc for consignment, but -unless you know the drill - they dont make that clear verbally. So, live and learn. We wont be going there again to buy or sell - glad it works for some people (especially them), but kind of a skanky operation, given that they have your contact info. And ... little bit of attitude on top of that.
Wonderful place to buy second hand clothes.
Its 2 stories - well, more clothes & shoes in basement! A fabulous place!
This place has a wide variety of clothing in great condition. Their mens and maternity selection is small although childrens and womens is quite extensive!
Terrific rotating mix of usually high quality clothing.
I live nearby so am able to stop in often. I mainly spend my time looking for athletic wear and occasionally look for kids clothing. Although I do tend to find some brand-name active wear I have noticed the price has gone up on certain brands. Perhaps they figured out people buy that more often so they increased the cost. Makes sense I suppose but have not bought as much because of this when in the past I would buy it without a second thought because the price was right with tops at $18 and pants around $20. Now athletic tops/tanks are on average $22 and pants $24 which in my opinion is high. I am only speaking towards one brand not the others which are marked much lower. I would say in comparison to other local consignment shops this place is the most expensive though all of them have increased the price on this particular brand.Kids clothes are ok but again, seem to be priced higher than other shops and many of my neighbors feel this way about Nu Look.I dont waste my time with much else because in the past I have looked for a long time through their tops and sweaters and just didnt find anything worth buying. Too many tops that are too short for todays standards or just seemed a bit too worn to me.They do have a good selection of designer denim and most of the premium brands are around $58 which is not that bad. And, I have worked retail and I dont live in Edina (see above comments) but I still am not willing to give this place more than 3 stars, though I will continue to check it out hoping for a good find and deal.
Awesome awesome awesome affordable name brand beautiful items
Wide variety of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories for women, men, and kids at different price points. So there is definitely something for everyone.
Love this place always find good deals. Keep expectations real it is a Consingment shop.
Used clothes shouldnt sell them that expensive.
My favorite consignment shop in Minneapolis. Great prices and variety
This is not a good place to consign your clothes anymore. Their new rules and conditions are very unfair...
Great place to find a deal.
One of my favorite places to go!!
I always find amazing stuff here!!!
They changed owners since the last I was there
Too much going mm?(
Staff is very friendly and helpful!!
Great deals and selection!
Was here looking for mens clothing. Not much for selection
Best around!
Very clean, and lots of name brands. Everything seems a bit overpriced to me though. I didnt purchase anything.
Ugh... thats all
Nice quality
The staff is beyond RUDE!!!
