Normally I shy away from any place that considers itself hip (if you call yourself hip then you definitely are not) but I had one of the best Americanos there recently.their background music leaves a lot to be desired and they need to add a good supply of pastries, then it would be my go-to coffee shop.

Visited on a Sunday morning. Very relaxing environment. Best cold brew Ive had to date. It may have been an artifact of it being an early Sunday morning, but I was hoping there would have been a larger selection of food items to choose from. More outdoor seating would have been nice. The staff is very friendly and engagingly answered all of my questions! Would recommend!

The atmosphere and branding is awesome. The coffee is fine. The customer service needs work; I felt unwelcome during my brief visit. For this reason, I probably wont be back. When you pay $7 for a latte, a simple thank you from the staff would go a long way.

I discovered this adorable up North style coffee shop through local baker Emily of Fruit and Grain on Instagram and they do not disappoint! I love grabbing a North Woods (cold brew with oat milk and maple) with my out of this world treats from Fruit and Grain. Always such a bright spot in my weekends. If you haven’t tried one of the pop tarts, you will NOT be disappointed. Truly anything in the case will be worth it, I guarantee it!

Great coffee house - beautiful setting and cool midwestern vibe. I’m just going to say what many people are thinking - their pastries are not good. They sound better than they taste. Also , nothing is warned up. With such wonderful bakeries in the area - I’m surprised they don’t chose a better one. But if it’s the coffee - 5 star all the way.

Nice new coffee shop in Minneapolis Downtown East. Ticks a lot of boxes: good coffee, cozy modern decor, friendly staff, quieter with better acoustics than some of their competitors. Northern Coffeeworks has to be my favorite coffee shop in the Twin Cities. Thats saying a lot because were fortunate to have so many great coffee shops, and Ive been to most of them.It rises to the top for me because, first and foremost, their coffee drinks are consistently excellent. They use quality products and great equipment, and they craft the drinks with skill and care. And this excellence carries over to their other beverages and their food items.Ive enjoyed their drinks and food over many visits, and Ive not seen a misstep yet. Had a good experience at Northern Coffeeworks. I parked just around the corner in a metered parking spot. I was told there is no designated parking for the shop. Really enjoyed the Kenyan pour over they had. At 3pm on a Friday every table was taken so I sat at the bar seating. That atmosphere was comfortable. The longer I stayed the busier it got and eventually one of the seats next to me was taken as well. When it gets busy, the bar seating is a bit cozy. That didn’t bother me too much but may be uncomfortable for others.Overall, this was a great experience with great coffee.
