I hadn’t been to an optometrist in a few years. This place was close to home and had good reviews, so I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. The process was speedy, staff was friendly, and priced without insurance were super affordable. I definitely recommend!

It was my first time going in Minkes Eye Care. My insurance changed so I was driving around looking for a new place to go to and I’m extremely grateful I found them. I had amazing help not only from the eye doctor but from the rest of the staff as well when it came to picking out my glasses. They were very thorough with all the different kinds of options available on selecting the coating on the lens to the transitions. Everything just made sense when they were explaining it. My family has been with Dr. Minkes for well over 10 years. Her examinations are very thorough and we have needed contact lenses as well as eye glasses. She has a very good selection of eye glass frames and sunglasses if you need those with a prescription. The new location and store are in a great location off SW 117th Avenue and SW 104 Street.

I had a great experience visiting Dr Minkes’ office. It’s not the typical experience where you feel like just a “number” in a store or Dr. office. From the moment I walked in, they made sure I was acknowledged and attended to. The staff was very knowledgeable. And the Dr as well as her medical assistants were very precise, caring, and made a great effort to ensure everything was clean for the Coronavirus. I got the full eye exam and purchased prescription reading glasses. I would definitely recommend Dr. Minkes eye care.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had an eye doctor’s office very personal attention examination and the choosing of Glass’s experience, the two pair of glasses that I bought were made in less than two weeks very happy with the service and associates.

I had read the reviews for Minkes before making my appointment assuming that it was a good optometrist. They gave me an appointment the same day, which was 1 of the 2 good things from this place. I got there and was immediately attended. I got my eye exam, picked out my glasses and received them the next day, from their lab. This was the second good thing. I needed these glasses immediately since mine had broken. I start wearing them and noticed that I cannot see from far away very clearly, especially at night. At night I could barely see from far away and the lights were blurry. I decided to go back since I was told I could get the lenses remade. The prescription given to me was incorrect even though I had mentioned what my prescription was in the first visit. In the second visit when I went to go get another exam I brought my old glasses and they upped my prescription, but not to the prescription of my other glasses. I was told that I was used to the older prescription. When I go back in so they can pop my new lenses into the new frames they tell me that they cant because my frames shrunk down to my old lenses and the new ones were bigger, and then they told me to pick new frames. I had said no because I liked those frames. Then I was told they were going to be ready in 2-3 hours. After these hours pass I call again and I was told that the frames were bad and they will never order them again and that I can get the same frames with no warranty or get different frames. I went to look at the other frames and I did not like any of them and was told that the glasses basically melted. I called a couple days later to just get a refund.

For starters, they are open on weekends, which is super convenient. Dr. Minkes is awesome! I have purchased glasses & contact with them. For my contacts, she allowed me to try as many trials as I needed to until we found the perfect match. They are always so kind in the front & willing to help & explain benefits. Unfortunately Dr. Menke has chosen poor management to represent her.Ive been a patient with her for over 10 years back when she was at the Falls. Her new store manager is basically a slimy, used car salesman type that makes your skin crawl when you have to deal with him. Rather than building relationships her patients, he works to destroy them. Undermining her ability to build strong relationships with customers.Get rid of the slimeball managing the front of your store Dr. Minke. I wont come back until hes gone, along with his policies.

Nice custumer service

Dr. Minkes was able to squeeze me in as a walk in last minute. Her staff is extremely friendly, patient and caring. They explain the reason for everything from the materials to the frames. They remember you and are truly happy to see you and treat you like a person, not just treat you like a number.

From the Doctor to all of her staff, they were all amazing! Our appointment was for me, my wife, and my son, and the entire staff treated us great! I think we found our new permanent optometrist! Highly recommend!

They worked with my insurance to get me the best possible price using my benefits and had my glasses in a timely fashion. The office is clean and modern with up to date glasses. Dr.Minkes is an exceptional doctor. My whole family and I have been going to her for years. She is very knowledgeable and patient, therefore working with you until correct prescription is achieved. She is so thorough that she checked before she dilated my eyes and confirmed that my eyes CAN NOT be dilated at this time because of an eye issue I have at the moment which could have led to a more serious problem if I had been dilated. The doctor was good. Detailed and patient with all my questions. However, my appointment was at 11am and I was not seen until 12:40pm causing the rest of my day to be delayed. I wish the receptionist would call patients to let them know about the delay or something. Wouldn’t come back.

The last time I was there to have my lenses changed. They made a copy of the new prescription and ordered the lenses. When Minkes Eye Care received them I got a text and went in to get them replaced. Excellent Service and customer service.

Without a doubt, Dr Minkes has the best bedside (maybe it should be chair side) manner of all my doctors. Good enough is not in her vocabulary! Fine tuning is and she will go to great lengths to make sure you can see perfectly. She has been my doctor for about 4 years and I wouldnt go any where else. Staff is friendly and cooperative and that can make or break a visit. Never had a problem.

I needed an intermediate focal distance on my sunglasses to properly read the display on my Tesla. They brought diaopter lenses out to the car so that I could try them on to get an accurate view of what I needed. Very good service. The lenses were made correctly and work great!

The care was excellent .It was a great experience .I ended up buying glasses that I loved.Only one comment, I bought glasses at the beginning of the year there that broke, and Minkes policy did not let me replace them. In the past I was able to use the actual lenses and transfer them to a frame but minkes did not help. I hope the glasses I just bought last if not I might chose my previous eye glasses place moving forward. I had to glue them together and use them as backup but I cannot lose the glasses :/

Not happy with Dr. Minkes. At first I was pleased with her because she had a pleasant approach and I was satisfied with the examination. I ordered a second pair which was pretty costly not to mention the first pair were expensive and I was not offered a discount for ordering the second pair, but ok. Later, it became a nightmare. I picked up the glasses as soon as they were ready and tried to get used to them. They were relaxed lens by the way. After two weeks of blur, dizziness and headaches, I took them back. This is when Dr. minkes became testy with me, making me feel as if I was being difficult. Turned out the measurements were taken wrong. A gentleman at the store took the correct measurements and convinced me to re-order the glasses as progressives which I had to pay more money for, so I did. The second pair not only had the wrong measurements, but now the frame was not the recommended for progressives so I had to choose another frame more expensive plus pay for the extra charge of progressives. I was disappointed that they could not accomodate me on the frames price, after all it was their mistake and they’re convincing me to order progressives. Since I did not know how the progressives were going to work out after all that I’ve been through, I cancelled the second pair and I asked for a refund. A week goes by, the new progressives are ready, I pick them up, tried them for another two weeks, could not get use to them especially for night driving. I called the office to explain this, spoke to Dr. minkes and again she became completely bent out of shape with a really ugly attitude with me. Mind you, they are the ones that talked me in to ordering progressives, I was fine with relaxed eyeglasses if the measurements were correct to begin with. I asked to go back to relaxed with the correct measurements. Dr. Minkes asked to see me, I went back to the store and she agreed with me that relaxed was the way to go. We ordered them back to relaxed as was intended originally, when I asked for a refund on the extra fee I paid for progressives, Dr. Minkes, argued with me that they couldn’t refund me the extra fee for progressives because they were losing money on the second pair I returned. I was in total shock. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Non of this mess would have happened if the measurements were taken right in the beginning and they had not convinced me to order progressives. I will not be recommending Dr. Minkes.

I love Dr. Minkes!!! I have congenital cataract, when a Dr. Up north removed one, my retina detached, so now I have a whole host of eye issues. Most of the Dr.s Ive seen are either very negative- giving me the remember you could go blind speech. Dr. M inkes is VERY positive and doesnt flinch at my eye history. She is clearly quite knowledgeable and prices are not through the roof. Trust me, Ive been to a lot of eye people, SHES GOOD!!

I really like both Dr Minkes and the Eye Care center. Dr Minkes was able to figure out why I kept getting glasses from other places and why they were making me nauseous and couldnt see. Ive been stuck with only contacts for years leading to severe dry eyes, now I can use both to give my eyes a break. Shes also paid more attention to my prescription more than any other optometrist Ive ever seen. She checks the different brands prescriptions to make sure they remain the same and she will go back and forth with you until you are 100% satisfied and can see. She also helped me find a more comfortable contact brand. I really recommend her, she knows what shes doing. Other Doctors give you the eye test and are like “K heres your prescription bye!” She follows through and will change it to make sure you really have the best. I also like the center because its small and not extremely busy and all her employees are well informed, friendly, and helpful.

The eye doctor has left for the day, I called asking for the same day appointment because it was my only day off, she came back to work just to take care of me and I have to tell you, it was the best eye doctor I have had so far. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience and they have the best equipment.

I’m not one to give bad reviews and believe everyone can have a bad day once in a while but the girl that works in the front at this place is super rude. I haven’t come across someone this rude in a long time so I felt like I had to write this review. The doctor is nice and the place is well maintained and that’s the only reason I’m giving two stars. It’s unfortunate that they have someone like this working there. I will be looking for another eye doctor and get my glasses elsewhere.

I was very impressed with the level of technology in the types of tests performed, but more so with the professionalism and patience of the staff, answering questions about what results certain equipment obtains and taking the time to guide me when I was off on my instructions on what I needed to do for accurate readings.
