ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!I took my AC to a car AC specialist who took 2 minutes to check and gave me an estimate of $1000 and didn’t even explain what would need fixing.Then I took my car to this guy. Let me tell you, he is not only an affordable car repairman, he is also the most HONEST person I have ever seen in Miami. He explained everything about the issue in my car AC. Turns out it was the heater control valve which was causing the problem. He only charged me $60. Talk about $60 vs $1000.Not only that, he was very considerate, professional, humble and knowledgeable person. I have some more issues in my car which need fixing and I didn’t know where to go. Now I know.

Im traveling the US in a classic Lincoln Mark III... Needed rear wheel bearings done correctly and Neil has the know how and equipment to do the job without the common butchering many mechanics feel is perfectly acceptable.Bearings should be PRESSED OFF, (not cut) and new pressed back on. 👍Also did significant diagnostics to determine the cause of rough idle. We made some progress on the problem and Neil gave me some tips to improve performance which I can do on my own.**I got 12.35 volts to the coil/igniter now for a stronger spark/burn and better performance. The rest is in the carb and fuel pump which I will/can do myself. Great service and assistance !Highly recommended !

As we know theyre many mechanics in Miami. Affordable is not one of them. The owner (Neil) and his staff have knowledge and they like to work. Went in for a transmission oil check and they did the job fairly quick. To check my transmission is a tedious job. No dip stick, right temperature ect. Would I recommend this place? Yes. Not just for an oil change but for other more complex work. They have knowledge and if not they find it.Recommend? Absolutely.

After 2 visits to tropical Chevrolet and a local mechanic i Google alot of ppl. finally, I came across affordable auto repair, and after speaking with Niel I had my car towed to his shop. he was busy but ensured he cud squeeze me in. b4 I knew it was done and fixed correctly. I was desperately looking for a good mechanic, preferably close to me, and thank you Google! I found Affordable Auto Repair. The reviews convinced me to give it a try and I am really glad I did. Neil is knowledgeable and honest, and no joke, he has saved me hundreds (if not thousands) by giving me a reasonable price and even sending me to the dealer when the issue was still covered by guarantee. As a woman I was always afraid of mechanics taking advantage and overcharging or finding new issues that needed to be fixed, but with Neil I feel safe to take my car, knowing he will just do his job without creating new issues or inflating prices. I just started having issues with the check engine light in my Cadillac and not having alot of extra money or knowing anyone in Miami, decided to call around and see if there was anyone who would offer any advice on how or what could be done before I left for a little road trip over the weekend. To my surprise, Neil was extremely helpful with all his knowledge and even offered a small window of his time to take a look at it for me. Once in his shop, he ran a few tests on it and even drove it around the block to ensure it was safe to drive! Occasionally as a young woman ill feel pressured into doing whatever a mechanic suggests not knowing or understanding the logistics behind it all but with Neil he didnt make me feel that way even a little bit. He took the time to explain every little thing and educate me which i feel is a very rare thing to come by in todays day and age where everyone is only out to help themselves! Long review but do read it. I was seriously impressed by their workmanship and the fact that this is one of most genuine auto repair shop i have seen in Miami (from an outsider point of view also no language problem). This was my second visit with them. First time i went for headlight fix, told them the problem, they explained me everything, fix the issue in no time and charges were very reasonable. This time i went for my AC issue , as it was blowing warm air. But they were not my first choice. I went to specialist auto ac repair shop. I thought or kinda knew that all i need is a gad charge as i must be low on freon. So I went to an auto AC repair shop as i wanted this to be handled by right professional but to my utter disbelief the repair shop said that my compressor was broken and estimated $1000 to fix it. No way i was going to spend $1000 , as i could sense they are just there to make money. Thats when i decided to go back to Affordable Auto repair for second review , knowing they seemed genuine during my last visit and might guide me properly. And thats what happened , no compressor issue, just needed a little charge , thats what they said and thats what they did under $70 bucks !!! I mean these people are really doing genuine auto repair work. No hassling, no over charging, no making simpler things difficult in order to charge you more, no cheating just bunch of guys doing honest work !

I tried calling just for an estimate for a labor service in regards to an installation. The man answered was rude, unprofessional and swore multiple time of the bat after I just asked him if he does this type of installation. He them proceeded to ask me sarcastic and rhetorical questions as if I was insulting him for calling to get a quote for some odd reason and then told me “I am f#cked” and that I am expecting to much from him to figure out if he could give an estimate.Never have had such a weird/odd experience just for inquiring about a service. Would not recommend.

Having purchased a 1973 Stepvan while on vacation I commissioned Your affordable auto repair to do some basic mechanical work to make the vehicle safe for shipping back to Australia . I am a retired mechanic with over 45 years experience on cars and heavy industrial. I have never seen less professional work on a vehicle in my life. After paying over $5000.00 for repairs, when the vehicle arrived I had to repair the brakes, steering column, exhaust, carburettor and after driving only 20 miles came to a stop as even the new fan belts threw off. All of the items had been repaired by youraffordableauto . I have video and photographic evidence to prove this. I have lodged a complaint with the Miami office of consumer affairs and on their advice will now be lodging a complaint with the small claims court. The standard of service I received from this company was quite simply appalling. The company manager offers no help

It is a rare experience that one can find a straight shooting mechanic nowadays. Since Ive been working in this area, Ive brought all three of my vehicles to Neil for service and or repairs along with recommending him to my coworkers and peers.The first time I brought my Explorer to Neil, I relayed to him that the previous time I had it in for an oil change, the service advisor (of one of these nationwide tire / service chains) advised that I needed rear brakes urgently. Absolutely one of the most genuine and fair mechanics Ive met. Straight to the point, his commitment and dedication in getting the issue with my car fixed was out of this world. Not only was he very professional about his methods and procedures of repair, but very knowledgeable on what tools were needed to get the job done. My issue was a nightmare, we were in the red zone with many worst case scenarios knocking on the door. However with Neils wisdom and help, my nightmare with the engine block of my car ended being saved and fixed with a fair price considering labor and tools. I come from a family of car mechanics, and I know that it takes years of experience and wisdom to have this capability of genuine honest work while running a shop. This most likely wouldve been a several thousand dollar job had if I not gone to Neils shop. Definitely taking my cars back there for sure, highly recommend.

I called Neil today for the first time based on the reviews here. Even though he was busy and short one mechanic, he took my call about my 1962 mercedes. He took the time to help diagnose her problem over the telephone. He even went online to make sure he would be able to find the parts needed. I could tell that he is extremely knowledgeable and professional. You just dont get that type of personal service in Miami today. I should know. I was born here. Right out of the gate, I was impressed.

My car needed a new alternator and it was hard to find because my car is old. He found a new one at the most affordable price. I definitely recommend this place.

I found Affordable Auto Repair through google reviews. My truck (03 dodge ram 1500 quad cab) had a horrible noise coming from the vehicles drivetrain. I thought the problem was the rear differential. I ended getting to Affordable and was expecting to pay a lot of money for a job like this. Let me start off by saying that Neil, the owner, is a very knowledgeable guy. I know a lot about cars, but Neil is an expert in the automobile industry, which really sets him apart. He gave me several options and explained the diagnostics involved in determining the cause. Long story short, the problem was not the differential on the vehicle, but the u-joint. The job was very reasonably priced and well worth every penny knowing Neil had his hands on it. The job was completed from one day to the next. Neil even suggested small things to look out for in my vehicle in the near future. I would recommend Neil to anyone looking for an honest mechanic in south florida. He works on any type of vehicle and I assure you that he will get the job done right the first time. I am in town for a few weeks and my check engine light came on. My engine has caused me problems for a few months, and my home mechanic tried several times to fix it. I was dreading the idea of taking it to a mechanic in a city I barely know, but I read good reviews for Affordable Auto Repair and gave it a shot.Neil was amazing. He listened to me as I explained the noises my engine was making, talked me through the engine diagnostic process, and then showed me the inside of my engine and the coil and spark plug that needed to be replaced. He did all of this for me in about an hour, and then took the time to explain to me some potential future problems that could occur in my exhaust system due to the previous engine problem. When I drove in my engine sounded like it was ready to fall out of my car, and now it is running smoothly. I thought this repair was going to cost several hundred dollars, but it ended up costing me less than $150. I have never had a better experience with a mechanic.

People say that there is no such thing as an honest mechanic, but these people have never met Neil from Affordable Auto Repair.I was having issues with my car not starting. I went to a chain location, starts with Tire ends with dom; and after 4 hours and 3 mechanics they just told me I dont know whats wrong with it. I looked up affordable auto repair and after reading their reviews I had to call them and speak with Neil.I explained to Neil what was wrong, and what I thought it could be. He assured me he would be able to pin-point exactly what was wrong. I dropped off my car the next day, and by the end of the day my car was up and running. Neil is very professional and very transparent of the work he does on your car. He does not just tell you what needs to be done, but explains the why behind it as well.Also, the cost of labor he charges beats any dealer and major/minor chain that I personally looked up.Thank you Neil!Ill see you soon for routine maintenance.

THEY ARE THIEVES !! I went in for a loose radiator hose that did not need nor was it replaced to put the hose back on and re fill with coolant they wanted me to pay $219.30 ! I was never contacted as requested with an estimate and when I told them to drain the radiator that I would have it towed else where they lowered it to still $140.00 FOR A LOOSE HOSE!!!THERE IS NOTHING AFFORDABLE ABOUT THIS PLACE AND THERE WAY OF BUISNESS MAKES THEM VERY SHADY AT BEST!

I went there to get my motor mounts replaced and as I was driving on my way home I heard a clunking sound.I took it back and they said the the sound will go away in 72 hours..for two weeks non stop the sound continued and I took it back to the shop.One if the workers told me and out his hands up that the owner took one of my car mounts on purpose to sell it to a aftermarket place for extra cash.This is ridiculous
