My family had the privilege of being Crown Volkswagens first buyers for the the new all-electric ID.4. We had a very positive buying experience from reserving the car through the purchase, and I would happily recommend choosing Crown as the dealership to receive your ID.4 if you reserve one through Volkswagen. Our salesman was Van Thompson whom I would gladly recommend for buying any vehicle - electric or otherwise.We reserved the ID.4 in September, locked in January, and the vehicle was delivered in late-April. Van was proactive in providing us updates as the dealer received the demo for us to test-drive and as our vehicle was shipped and arriving in Lawrence. He was knowledgable in explaining the features and operation of the car, which are a departure in some ways from traditional gas-powered vehicles. There were no surprises in the purchase process - we paid a fair price (MSRP + Destination + Doc) and were able to qualify for Volkswagens promotional financing for the vehicle. Van was fully prepared to deliver the vehicle - he helped us set up the Car Net app and Electrify America app with the included 3 years of free fast-charging. I believe Crown is committed to selling electric vehicles.The ID.4 itself is a joy to drive. It is quick, smooth, quiet, comfortable, and spacious. The driver assistance features take a lot of stress away from driving. I look for excuses to drive it. It is definitely worth taking the demo vehicle for a test drive if you are visiting the dealership.

I went in over the weekend to look at a used car they had for sale. Colton and Richard were both extremely helpful and made the car buying process very stress free and easy. They were able to answer every question I had with knowledge. Colton even took the time before I left the dealership in my new car to show me how to pair my phone and work some of the accessories inside the vehicle which was extremely helpful. This was my first time buying from a dealership and I have to say I was very impressed with Crown Automotive. They were even able to get my newly purchased vehicle into the detail shop and get it cleaned the same day so I could take it home that evening. I also worked with Dallas he explained all my options for warranties and actually set me up with an extended warranty for my vehicle that was perfect for me. All in all everyone at Crown was very friendly and willing to do whatever it took to make sure I was happy with my purchase. If you love your VW, do not get it serviced here. I have only had my tiguan for 3 months, and when I took it in to get new tires, i got it back with huge scuffs and scratches all over the rims that had the new tires put on (2). When I emailed the parts manager (Ed) back about an hour after i picked it up, I was basically called a liar, even after providing photos showing my rims with far less damage before my car was serviced here. Dont let them touch your VW, go to a dealer in KC...Update: even after seeing the before and after photos (showing much more damage on the rim than before) the dealership is still trying to blame me LOL. I have no interest speaking with management, and i will not be changing or removing my review. These guys are as bad as they come!

They were very professional, were knowledgeable about their vehicles, and most of all treated us like family. We were not able to travel to pick up our new Atlas due to Covid so Charlie personally delivered the car and went over all the features. We are able to call him with questions and that is something we love. He followed up with us and was an all around awesome guy to work with! Great sales experience. Best selection of VW SUVs around. We were able to choose our Atlas from a huge inventory. Second new car I have purchased from Crown and absolutely recommend. Only complaint I have is they only had one finance person there on a Saturday and it took over 2 hours from when we decided on a price until we even got in his office.

I bought my 2015 Volkswagen Jetta from Crown Volkswagen in March of 2015. Since then, I have used their service department for everything. Every oil change, which is literally every 6 months or less for us because we have driven over 140,000 miles already in the past 5 years. Ed Keane has always been honest, fair and does not try to sell me anything I don’t need. “Dealership prices” for service aren’t really a thing here because they price things competitively and offer a lot of incentives and discounts for service and repair in email format on a regular basis. I always know they will stand by their work and often go above and beyond to help with getting the work done in a timely manner, especially when I show up with my toddler in tow. Josh Purvis and Ed are personable and easy to talk to when explaining anything that may need to be done, without using pressure or scare tactics to get people to get things done immediately. The Crown Volkswagen service department is absolutely worth taking your Volkswagen to every single time.

I have a bmw and couldnt find a place to change my headlight since its a german car. VW of Lawrence was very positive that they could help me out, and did so within a short amount of time. Even did an inspection for free. The front desk guy, Josh, was super friendly and went above and beyond to help me with questions and had informative answers. Great Team of Professionals!I bought a 2018 Volkswagen Jetta and had a great experience! I went there to look at a Jetta they advertised online. Kelly Glaze greeted me and showed me several cars before we got to the Jetta. We test drove three cars before the Jetta advertised online. Kelly Glaze was a joy to ride with. Conversation was very nice and he was very personal able. We finally test drove the Jetta and then came in and talked pricing. I explained the pricing and mileage on the Jetta was a hard pill to swallow because I’m from Texas and travel to Dallas several times a month. As some of us know the Dallas market is competing with many dealerships so they always have banging deals. We couldn’t agree on price and Kelly was very understanding. That’s when Jamie Engnehl (Sales Manager) came in the picture. She introduced herself and asked if there was anything she could do. We discussed what Kelly and I talked about and she understood. She was very sweet. She offered advice on what to look for when looking at other Jettas. She even offered for me to give her a call if I had any questions at another dealer.The next day Jake Sacks (General Manager) called me asking about my experience and if there was anything he could do to get me to come back and buy the car. I told him about my great experience the night before. I suggested another price and he agreed. I came that same day to fill out the paperwork. This when I had another great experience with the finance manager. We went over the paperwork and found out that since I was in the military we had to redo all of the paperwork and get some information from the state where I was going to register it in. She was very patient and worked out all of the numbers.This experience has been so great! When I get my next vehicle I would fly to Crow Volkswagen to do business with them!

It took them a while to start treating me like a serious buyer. The saleswoman I worked with was great, I really wanted to buy a vehicle from her, but when her sales manager decided to call me directly he was aggressive and condescending. He very clearly isnt a people person and probably shouldnt be engaging with customers. I made it very clear to him on the phone, email me your best offer tonight, first thing tomorrow morning Im going to purchase a vehicle from whoever makes me the best offer today. Well, he didnt make me an offer that day, he didnt even get back in touch with me that day. My saleswoman called me the next day to figure out if I was still interested. Since they did not even attempt to contact me after I gave them a reasonable deadline, Id assumed they didnt want to sell me a vehicle and brought my business elsewhere.That said, the offer I received the next day was reasonable and if I hadnt already accepted a different offer I would have gone elsewhere.

This review is for the service department, not necessarily for sales. my cooling fan on my VW went bad, was quoted $970 + taxes to repair, I was informed that if I provide the part Crown will install it. To save $300, I bought new fan myself and gave to Crown. I was told the expensive labor is due to the fact that the whole front needs to come off to access the fan (Learned that it is far away from the truth) the next thing I know my secondary fan needs replaced, then I was told the provided fan was broken and stopped working!. I decided to check with other mechanic, and boy im glad that I did. The fan provided was running, VW most likely dropped it and broke cracked one of the fins, I have photos it took of the fan prior to handling to VW.There were 4 screws holding the fan frame, not a single part had to be removed to access the fan. it took my non VW mechanic 30 min to do the job at fraction of the cost. I had to but another fan because VW broke mine, i did not have buy a secondary fan I VW advised, mine was working just fine!. SHOCKED HOW VW COULD DO SUCH A THING, disappointed, WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE

Late review but, I bought my car in June, and had an amazing experience. Charlie made the car buying process fast and very smooth. I was in a very nasty wreck was unable to drive to Lawrence from manhattan, he scheduled drivers to pick me up and when i got there the car was ready to go and all we had to do was go over car fax and signing papers etc. The finance director was also very helpful I unfortunately forgot his name. I got gap insurance and extended warranty because of how great the service was. As long as i live in Kansas I will always buy and recommend Crown Lawrence. Thank you to the crown team I worked with.

The sales experience at Crown was awesome. Everything was very low pressure. I was in and out quickly and on my way home with my new CPO Alltrack. After driving the car, it started having issues related to the EVAP system. I live in Kansas City, so rather than taking the car to Crown, I went to a dealer closer to my house. They informed me that the work wouldnt be covered under the vehicles warranty. Eventually I took the car to Crown and they managed to get most of the work covered and even did some of the work on their own dime. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. In addition to this, everyone in the service department was friendly and easy to work with. I cant recommend Crown highly enough and Ill be using them again in the future for service and the next time Im in the market for a new VW or Toyota!Note: this is revision to an earlier review. It turns out there was a miscommunication between VW of American and Crown. Once Jacob, the Dealership Manager, and I got in touch, he stepped up and did everything he could to make sure I was taken care of. I wish I had brought the car to Crown to start with, but Im thankful that they worked so hard to resolve the problems I was having once I started working directly with them.

I can’t say enough good about this dealership. I was referred by a friend, and asked for his salesman, Joe Higdon. I have now bought my last two vehicles from him. I drove over from Kansas City to Lawrence and was glad that I did. The sales process was extremely simple and respectful of my time, and they have kept their word on everything we agreed. I was informed that I couldn’t get a shuttle back to the dealership after my 2k worth of service was completed because it was 3:50pm on a Tuesday.😖 I suppose I’ll just walk. Bad customer experience On that note. I will say the actual service department is on point. I may have to go without a vehicle another day because it’s after 3:50 in a Tuesday but I’m sure the mechanics do great work.

I was there to get an inspection of a used car I was thinking about buying from a private buyer. The shop was clean, the staff person very polite and efficient, and she managed to fit us in later that day though they were busy. Unfortunately, the car had major problems so I didnt buy it, but their mechanics caught problems that would have cost me over a thousand dollars if I had bought it without the inspection. They saved me from a very expensive mistake. Thanks, and always get a potential car purchase checked in advance by a mechanic.

I have bought every car I have ever owned in Lawrence at Crown, but the experience of buying my first brand new VW Jetta was by far the best. Gabby McGann was great to work with. The BDC guy called me at work on a Sunday which is fine because i put my work info into the site I was looking at. When I told him that I was about an hour and a half from him and didnt know why he got my lead he told me what I should do different next time so he doesnt get my inquiry. I am a sales manager at a top ten dealer in the country and he didnt even try to get my business ad then he hung up on me! I will definitely not do business here now. But I might have I usually do not care about price if they make it easy.......

As the kids say, this place slaps. Friendliest, most helpful and honest folk around. It is a dealership so obviously youll be spending more for your little tin can on rubber to be fixed but good golly will it be fixed with the utmost transparency and care. And they wash that puppy till it shines.I recently bought a vehicle there and Jadyn was the easiest person to work with. I wasnt coaxed into buying anything, wasnt conned into a fancier package or a car I would struggle with payments. She worked with my budget and I got a brand new Tiguan that slaps. Again, great people and a great place to get all your car stuff done.

I recently purchased a Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen from David Wilson and had an excellent experience. David was understanding, respectful, patient and very helpful throughout the entire car buying process. I had a particularly poor experience at another Volkswagen dealership and went into Crown knowing exactly which car I wanted. I was looking for a relaxed and respectful atmosphere and was completely satisfied with the entire car-buying process. I would rate Crown Automotive a 5/5 and if I could rate David Wilson higher than 5/5, I would. Absolutely excellent.

We arrived at Crown Volkswagon on Thursday around 2:30, it was rainy and of course there werent too many folks shopping to buy a new car, due to Covid-19. When we got out of our car we were greeted by Van Thompson, he handed my husband his business card and told him that hes not very pushy but to let him know if we wanted to test drive any car on the lot. We ended up test driving a white Atlas, a black one, and bought a red one. We were at the dealership until around 7 that night not because of them but because we couldnt make up our mind. Van was extremely patient, gave us time, space, and he was not pushy. If anyone is looking to buy a Volkwagon or Toyota please be sure to visit Van at Crown in Lawrence. I cant say enough good things about working with Crown VW in Lawrence. David Wilson, salesperson, was fantastic to work with. Never pushy and really valued me as a customer. Kristen, in financing, was great to work with as well and really made the financing part smooth. I still cant believe how easy they were to work with. I live further away (over an hour) so mostly everything was handled via text/phone. I went in to fill out my paperwork (took 10 mins) and then came back in to grab my vehicle when it arrived. Super simple process and they were all so friendly and honest throughout the whole experience. I have never written a review for a dealership before so this is a big deal - because they were just great. I will be back again whenever I am ready to buy another vehicle.

Upon looking for a new VW Tiguan, I was looking at a specific dealership in Kansas City because I had purchased my last vehicle from them. Was looking for a 2019 gti back in December so I emailed Crown and a few other dealerships. David Wilson got back to me with a price that was $1500 below any of the other offers. I bought my car from here in 2017. The sales staff is absolutely excellent. My bad review is for the service department. Since buying my car, I have taken it there to get my routine oil changes. Both times I had terrible experiences. I am only leaving a review on here because they refuse to send me a review email. Both times I made appointments well in advance but I waited for between one and two hours for my car to be serviced. They blame it on people calling in but that sure doesnt keep from people going on their lunch breaks. I was there for so long I got hungry too but couldnt leave because they had my car. My first bad experience, who ever did my oil change didnt put something back together correctly and all the oil leaked out by the time I got home. I had oil all over my engine and who knows how fast the oil leaked out and for how long I was driving with out any oil. They sent a mechanic to my house to fix the issue. Then he drove my car back to the dealership where they fixed it some more and cleaned the oil from the engine. When they returned my car, I had a dent and scratch on the hood and I had a nail in my tire. They ended up fixing that for free as they should since it wasnt my fault. The second time I also waited for almost two hours for them to do a simple oil change. I also got my car back with the low tire pressure light on. I ended up taking it to Discount Tire where they told me I had a nail in my tire. They fixed it for free. All in all, I will not be going to Crowne for any routine maintenance any more. They have lost my trust.
