Called First Choice at Northshore Drive and Hart Road for a full synthetic oil change. They told me to come right over. While there they also checked all fluids, the antifreeze acidity, tire tread and inflation, serpentine belt, brake discs and pad thickness, and air filter. They honestly reported all were in good shape, which I knew; but it is great to have a mechanic who does not try to sell you a service you dont need. Honest people, reasonable price! NO CHARGE to fix the mess I made! My taillight bulb was blown and I normally fix this kind of thing myself. When I tried to remove the old bulb it broke leaving the base of the bulb in pieces while still in the casing. After my arrival First Choice immediately pulled my car into the garage, fixed the problem, supplied the bulb and didnt charge me a cent for the repair or bulb.

Excellent and professional service. I would highly recommend and I will be back for service when required. When you goto them for service they will treat your vehicle as if it was their own and fix it right the first time.

My daughter and her boyfriend were on a road trip Saturday afternoon 700 + miles from home with an issue in pouring rain after numerous places saying to busy they had her come right down checked out everything for about an hour finding the new front right tire was separating/blistering then sent her to the tire shop it was warranteed from . I live very close to this place and have used them for several services and spent a lot of money with them. I recently had my spark plugs replaced in my Range Rover due to misfires, but the misfires continued. I returned the next day and they made some minor adjustments that took only about 5 minutes. The misfire was a little better but still happened on very hard acceleration. I assumed it wasn’t a spark plug issue. Since I couldn’t afford to have any more major issues, I tried to fix the problem myself by using fuel system cleaner, replacing the PCV valve and cleaning the MAF sensor. When that failed, I decided to take it to a mechanic specializing in Range Rovers. He found that one of the spark they put in was broken. After replacing, all misfires were cleared and it ran perfectly. That mechanic said I should go back to First Choice and show them. I did just that and asked that they reimburse me for the cost of replacing the broken spark plug since that had obviously been my issue all along. The mechanic in charge said the plug didn’t appear to have been broken very long since it didn’t have a lot of black burns on it, so it wasn’t their fault. While I am not a mechanic, I know my car was not fixed when they replaced the plugs the first time but it was fixed after the 3rd party mechanic found the issue. So they refused to compensate me! They are willing to lose a good customer over a $200 dispute. I would only say use this place for oil changes, if you are desperate.

Great experience. After slowly rolling forward into what I didn’t realize to be such a tall curb at the top of a parking space and then backing up whereas my bumper ripped off, they were able to secure it without needing to get a brand new bumper at a much higher cost at the dealership. What a win! On top of that, they performed a full inspection to find that my brakes were so low. This wasn’t surprising to me because I had been hydroplaning a little too easily on my car recently; I had taken it to a competitor shop in Knoxville, where I was sent away, as the person there told me they didn’t want to change my brakes yet because they still had some life to them. Now I finally feel safe in my car again. I knew they needed to be changed. The other place estimate I’d have them way longer. Totally wrong. Lastly, and possibly most importantly.. the kind, hardworking, lovely woman at the front who helped me was able to find discounts when I was concerned about the cost of the brake pads and rotors. The other person working in the front was also helpful, kind, and positive. Very professional and going the extra mile to ensure a great customer experience! Thank you. I will be back.

I went here with what I thought was just a misfire that could be fixed easily and quickly, and I get a call a couple hours later telling me that my vehicle has jumped time and that I would need to replace my timing belt and water pump, which I had done somewhere else just 8 months ago. I tell the guy on the phone that I just had it done recently, and asked what the proper protocol would be since it was recently done. He tells me to take it back to where I had it done and tell them that the they think it jumped time. I call my mechanic and tell him this, and he says to bring it in and he will confirm if their diagnosis that I paid 117$ for was correct. So, I take my vehicle to him and he replaced the spark plug wires and one spark plug and it fixed what I thought was a misfire, which turned out to be correct. So I paid 117$ for a diagnosis which was a misdiagnosis, and caused me a lot of stress and time. So, had I not had my timing belt replaced recently, I would have just taken their word for it on that being the issue, and they would have ripped me off for far more money than they did. I would recommend staying away from this place, as I see they are liars and thieves that put minimal effort into their mechanic work and maximum effort into cheating customers out of their money. If this werent something as simple as a spark plug, I could understand a misdiagnosis, but this is blatant lying and its unacceptable.

Weve come here for years. The staff is always professional and courteous. If they find any issues outside of the services youve requested, they call to notify you and explain the issue and cost to determine if you want that work done in addition. The building is always clean and they do great work in a reasonable time-frame for a competitive price. Highly suggest!

Seriously THE best place to bring your vehicle. Our car broke down as we were in the middle of moving out of state. They took us in immediately, on a Saturday, on Father’s Day weekend, and had ordered the parts and fixed it within a few hours. Not to mention they gave us updates on how it was looking, showed us what broke, and gave us coffee. I’ve never been more grateful to a business for being so unbelievably helpful and kind. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Worst place I have ever had my alignment done. The alignment is actually WORSE than before I took it in! I went back for them to look at it and they took it back to work on it, but it still leans to the right horribly! Im going to a different shop and they are having a horrible time aligning it because of this place screwing it up so bad. So if you need an alignment, take it to Stevie Wonder instead, because he could probably do a better job. Plus the final price was way more than what they quoted me.

I called for the price of a basic oil change and was quoted 34.95. So I made my appointment for that for the very next day. The next day I take my car in for appointment and when I pick it up, they said it would be 64.95! And this was the same man who gave me quote day before. I told him that is not what I was quoted. He said that is the price for synthetic oil. I told him I never asked for synthetic oil. They wouldnt admit to their mistake. I also had key tag for 10.00 off and had to remind them to take it off! Never going back!

Very friendly and very quick! I took my vehicle in for an oil change and to have my brakes looked at. I was called and told that I needed to replace all rotators and pads and was quoted $975. This was the highest quote I’ve ever received. I decided to call a few other shops and got quoted $500-$600. I decided to take my car somewhere else and turns out I only needed to replace the front brakes and the day ended with only spending a few hundred dollars! I did have first choice do my oil change and they offered me a great price and waived the charge for the actual oil and only charged the service fee! Overall, the people are nice but I feel they are over prized or trying to do more work than what’s actually needed!

I came in there this morning to get an oil change only, well they over charged me. Saying it would be 69.95 and with 20.00 off it would be 49.95 they charged me 53.53 with only 10 dollars. Then they put on the paperwork that I refused the antifreeze and coolant. Well for 1 my car is good on the coolant/antifreeze and for 2 your mechanics cant seem to do there job because any time you get an oil change the oil life along with the milage is supposed to be resetted. Luckily, I knew how to do that myself. Get it together people!!!!!

I called before I came and asked if the could get my truck right in. I told them what I needed and what year make and model. They said yes no problem bring it in. I get there and right of the bat they start asking me questions on how to change my fuel filter and start googling it. Finally said can’t do it. That’s not the issue I had the fact I sat there for 30 minutes and my truck never went in and when I asked why they told me they never had the oil for my truck and the guy who brought some to the shop only brought a few quarts and was going to have to go get more. I left. They were nice people just weren’t truthful and thought as long as they got me there I would wait. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Just moved here from IL in a car that needed a new wheel bearing and, likely, tire rod. I had put it off as long as I could but was always nervous driving around and decided I needed to bite the bullet. Just calling First Choice I could hear their customer service skills shine through over the phone. I take a nice environment over all else and went in for my free quote. It was only 30 min to be told less needed done than thought and they could have it done in 2 hours. Yes please. They were cheaper, more knowledgeable, and more personable than the first place I called so I was sold. Driving away my car was finally quiet and I now feel safe driving through those mountains for work. Ive been in this state 3 weeks and I found my mechanic!! Thanks guys!!

I was very happy with the way I was treated at this place. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel like they did attempt to charge me a lot more than was necessary initially. Was quoted $400+ for a repair that should have been $200+. I was taught many years ago at the beginning of my professional career that PROFIT is not a dirty word, therefore I understand we all need to make a little money. However to their credit when I raised the question about the price they were very willing to work with me. I ultimately bought the part myself and was out a total (parts/labor) of $250 for the repair which was more in the range to expect for the nature of my issue. Like I said, profit is not a dirty word, but quoting me over $400 didn’t set well with me. They were very kind, very personable and professional, and ultimately performed the repair on my vehicle for an appropriate price without any hassle. I would use this shop again.

My car broke down right after my engine light came on, and I took it in on a Saturday morning. They were personable and courteous, found the issue within about 30 minutes, and my car was a spring chicken by early afternoon. They will try to upsell you on services your car doesnt need. Went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation and was told I would need a complete $800 brake job.

I went there for an oil change. The service manager told me that there was something making a noise in my back brakes. I asked how much to check it out and he said $79. I thought that was too much just to check something to tell me what was wrong, if anything. Then it would have cost more to repair.

I used First Choice for brake service. I didn’t have time to wait so they took me to my house. They were very professional and courteous. Very competitive pricing. When my service was complete, they came back to pick me up very promptly. I would recommend using First Choice for your service needs.

They recommended far more complex and expensive work then need. They definitely lied about a couple things to me. If you dont know about cars, they will take advantage of you.They kept saying it would just be a couple hours, so I decided to stay. I ended up spending 9 hours in there waiting room feeling like a fool.I would not suggest them for anything.

This was the WORST experience I have ever had for a car repair! My BMW 3 series car was taken there last week for a “diagnostic” service to see why there were some warning lights coming on. After a 3 hour wait and a $300 repair bill where they flushed the radiator based on their diagnostic analysis, they proclaimed the car was fixed. The very next day the same warning lights came on again. I took the car back and they said it needed an oil change and a new battery in order to be fixed. I agreed to that service but then I got a phone call later that day where they claimed I also needed a new starter for an additional $1100.00. I told them to not do that work and I would be by to pick up the car to take it to another service place for a second opinion. When I got to First Choice, the car would not even start up. I took the car to them and it was running. Now it isn’t. They rolled my car out of their garage and closed up shop while I was left outside waiting on a tow truck. Alone. There was yet another bill for the battery ($269 labor included)plus and oil change ($70 labor included)but on top of that there is a charge of $30.57 for “fees” which I do not understand at all. I have spent over $700 with them and my car does not run! This is the WORST car service place in town. Do NOT use them!

We have been blown away by the quality of the service we’ve received over the course of two years. One time we needed our car for a long trip the next day. Their team worked late and delivered the car to our home in the pouring rain! Another time a manager gave us great advice about checking with the dealer about potential engine defects. When we asked that question to the dealer, the dealer offered to replace our engine. We would have never known about that had the First Choice manager not suggested it. When we go to First Choice, we feel like they are consulting us instead of trying to sell us something. We appreciate their friendly and helpful attitude. This is the best auto repair shop we’ve ever encountered.

Prior to using First Choice Automotive, I had used another establishment which claimed to have fixed the problem but it turned out to be unsuccessful. The knowledgeable and professional staff at First Choice Automotive (Northshore) gained my trust and ensured some of my business for automotive needs.

I had previously had a great experience using FCA which is why I chose to go there again today. My car was brought back and inspected and then I was quoted a price. After sharing the quoted price with my husband and doing research on the average cost of what should be paid I learned that they were going to charge me 300+ more dollars than I should be paying.I confronted the man with my concerns about pricing.While sharing that information with the man who quoted the original price ,the manager overheard and was able to get the price down to a more reasonable range. I’m very thankful that the manager made it right , but super disappointed that the first man I spoke with didn’t do the same. I felt like I was being swindled because I’m a woman , which is unfortunate. The quality of their work seems to be great but the interaction that I had before the work even began was a huge turn off. I don’t know if I’ll be returning there for future service.

First choice automotive put the wrong oil in my Moms 2012 Lexus Hybrid and were adamantly defending that they put the right oil in. Thankfully the regional manager was there and corrected the situation and even gave the oil change for free.I really appreciated that and I would have left an okay review, but then I heard that employee Henry Ball (guy that was on the ticket not certain it was him specifically) tried to convince my Mom that her shocks were worn out and she was in danger while driving. I checked them myself and they are perfectly fine and go figure its a 2012 Lexus with hardly any miles! Oh and they wanted 800 for the shocks to be replaced.Now they could be a great company and place of business, but the man that helped my Mom tried to take advantage of her lack of knowledge of cars and I do not respect any man who does that to a woman.Will never give them business again, but I will write an update on this review if the employee that tried to scam my Mom is no longer working there.

I needed a part replacement. The initial replacement had an issue through no fault of First Choice Automotive. They replaced the part fully covered under warranty. And triple-checked to make sure we wouldnt have the issue we have the first time. They did so with integrity and ethics, which is frankly all that matters in this day and age.

Great service, fair prices, friendly staff, dependable and responsible mechanics, I brought my car in because she was making a terrible noise when I would back up. After just a little while of waiting they told me that my wheel hub was screwed and it’s dangerous to drive, the guy at the front offered for me to leave it there while I figure out what what the next step is as my funds were low and a hub replacement is expensive. After talking a while the guy at the front, (he was probably the owner or manager) even offered to do the repairs himself in order to cut me a break on the cost of labor. Anywho, I was very pleased with the service I received, they have a nice little waiting room and I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone who is having car issues. Thanks guys! I find it funny they post a picture from the other side & not from what we have to look at everyday. Dumpster with no doors as promised, area with no grass, trailers & equipment parked everywhere, rocks piled up in parking lot. All things they advised they would not do when they opened. If I cant trust them at their word I certainly would not trust them with my car or anything else.

On April 31, my daughter visited this “business” for a standard oil change & service. The “mechanic” told her that she needed some break work done and quoted her a price range of $380 - $420. She agreed to the repair. When she returned, they gave her a $915 bill and had added several services that were not part of the quote and, in the end, not needed. They did not call her to get approval to perform these services. She was stuck! They took advantage of a young woman who doesn’t know anything about brakes. I posted an honest, but objective review of the situation that same day, which got corporate’s attention…immediately. After calling and discussing the unneeded services, they said that this was a “coding error” on the invoice and that they would credit a portion ($326) of the overbilling….I am wondering about the other $200 overbill…. Anyway, three weeks later, I looked at my credit card statement and the credit was never applied. I called…again…and was assured that this would be fixed the next business day, which it wasn’t. Here I am over a month later…no credit. They are scamming me and unethically keeping the $500 overbilled amount. I hope this review keeps a lot of unsuspecting customers from doing business with the First Choice Auto Repair and Service on Northshore drive in Knoxville, TN.

I’ve used first choice since they have opened. They have been nothing but good to me. The customer service is WAY better than any other automotive shop I’ve used in the past. This first choice has always done the work in an efficient and professional way and they know what they’re doing.

I was visiting with my boyfriend and when I went to leave my truck wouldnt start. Thanks to these people I was back on the road in 3 days because a part had to be ordered and programmed to my truck. I go there again if I have a problem in that area of Tennessee again.

We started using First Choice a couple of days after we moved to Knoxville a couple of years back. After that first visit, we were completely sold. The location, service, personnel and price have been great. We havent even thought about going anywhere else.

While the promotional postcards they send out make claims that the business is “sanitary,” it is anything but. When I walked in, none of the employees were wearing masks and their appeared to be no attempt to encourage social distancing. There were people sitting in the waiting room without masks as well. Given that most businesses now require masks, and COVID-19 cases are in the rise here, this clearly communicates to me, a repeat customer, that they do not care about protecting the health of those they serve. Next time I need auto service I’ll consider going elsewhere.

I have been a customer here since this shop on North shore opened. Ann was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable when dropping off my car. She also quoted me for tires without pressuring to buy now. It made me feel respected. I had a bit so great experience with a previous manager where I did feel pressure and I changed locations. Just so happened that the owner was there and he gave me a great deal as an apology for that previous experience. I’m a customer that gives second chances as long as the vendor makes things right. I’m glad I did because my car runs great and I have a great experience with first choice auto.

I took my wife’s Jeep Liberty in for a rear differential pinion seal leak. I dropped the car off and got a call from them that the front differential pinion seal also had a small leak. They quoted me around $700 to replace both pinion seals and flush both differentials I declined the flush, but agreed to both pinion seal replacements and refill with gear oil. They quoted me about $338 for the repair. I picked the car up and drove it home. A few days later my wife said there was a noise in the front end and I found the the driver side caliper bolts were not in the caliper and the caliper was dragging on the wheel. I’m not saying that the caliper bolt issue was due to First choice, I can’t prove it.I replaced the bolts and noticed the front differential pinion seal had not been replaced. The total repair bill was $438 for one pinion seal replacement and gear oil refill. I feel the original quote for $338 for both seals was fair, but not $438 for one seal replacement and refill.

Got my oil changed with their 5pack special. Quick simple, and they informed me on a few other things I needed to get done completenwith quotes. Little pricey when it comes to labor, but the 5pk really has helped this year. 10/10 would reccomend.

Friendly service staff. Unfortunately they gave me the wrong info for my repair. They gave me a estimate for $545 for the wrong work. I declined the service and completed it myself which was not the correct problem. I asked if the transmission was bad and they said no which was the right fix for the problem. Very disappointed to receive such a high cost repair and it not be remotely correct. I visited the S. Northshore location.

Your staff were very friendly! However the quoted price of the service I needed performed was twice that of somewhere else. I was given the estimate that included the cost of the part I needed replaced. It was a mark up was almost 200%. The cost of your labor was $40 more on the hour as well. I purchased the part myself. I took it to a service garage And had it fixed in an hour. You all were going to charge me $430. I paid $120 for the part and $90 for labor at the garage. At that point, despite the convenience of First Choice being close to my house, I’ll drive the extra 7 mile for a better financial deal where the service was just as good.

I am SO EXCITED Anne has join First Choice auto!!!I took my Lexus there for the first time a few weeks ago and did a major service on my car. They say they will have it done in 3 hours 3 days later they told me that what they fix wasnt the problem after they said they diagnosed it and wanted to charge me $100 diagnosis speed just to tell me something else was wrong with it they seemed extremely dope feigning and I will never trust them with nothing else I own I wouldnt allow them to fix a bicycle

They were very professional and pleasant to speak with. They took care of what I asked for quickly and did not try to add any extra charges that I did not ask for! I would recommend them.

My son had a flat tire and drive it to their parking lot on a Sunday. We had AAA come out and change to the spare and just left the car there until Monday. Anna was very professional and helpful. They were able to repair the tire free of charge and we got an alignment and rotation. Highly recommend First Choice Auto!
