We have been coming to Meyer Music for piano lessons for five years now, and we are very happy with our teachers and our results! I am an adult student who started in my late 40s, and my son started at age 16, and we both are very excited with our progress and depth of knowledge we have gained! We purchased a Yamaha studio piano, led by the expertise and guidance of the Meyer employees and the voice and beauty of the piano is wonderful. They also helped another family member purchase a Yamaha digital piano that was affordable and came with the stand and bench. Lastly, we have purchased a lot of different kinds of piano sheet music to add to our personal library and Meyer has been able to locate and provide individual sheet music as our needs and interests changed. We are super happy and highly recommend Meyer Music!

I have brought my violin in to them for work several times. Everyone I have dealt with in the store is always nice and incredibly helpful. The gentleman at the other location who does repairs on instruments is also very helpful, and I like the fact that they call you and ask what you want to have them do and give you the prices for the work that needs to be done before doing it. I love this store and will continue going there.

I took lessons here for a few years. It’s a very dull place and it feels like no one is excited to be there. The instructors are not personable (I took lessons for multiple instruments) and hard to talk to. Customer service is ok. They do try to sell you overpriced items but I guess that’s typical for any store these days. I wouldn’t recommend this place to take lessons for any instrument.

They are knowledgeable and perfect for the entire family. Renting is the only step when your not sure of the commitment needed at the level. Meyer music will recommend, then be available for any service throughout. Just call and they will be attentive to your needs.

My son took lessons for several years l..we were very pleased with our experience. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The lesson prices were very affordable.

I have taken clarinet lessons at Meyer Music for six years. My instructor while caring and compassionate strives for perfection. She is an accomplished musician. The employees at the Kansas City North location are always helpful and accommodating. Look no farther than Meyer Music for private music lessons.

Great place to rent musical instruments and a good place to get all kinds of supplies for those instruments. Great selection of lesson books, especially for piano.

I buy all my religious piano music through Meyer Music. If they dont hVe it they will order it.HVe Lways been pleasant and profeasional. Recommend? Of coutse! A big yes!

Staff is always friendly and lessons are a really good quality. My instrument and reeds are always purchased at Meyer Music. I would recommend Stephen Martin for saxophone. He has been to music college and is super skilled. We have seen him preform and we were amazed! 🔥🎷 Stephen has helped me improve on the saxophone greatly.

I am a professional musician with advanced degrees in music. I went in looking for a baton (my nice one broke and I just needed something, anything to work in a pinch; like a King David or something cheap). The folks in the shop were very rude and seemed unsure as to what a baton even was and why I needed one. The woman thought I was looking for a ribbon baton like for gymnastics or something. I would recommend going to another store that is actually knowledgeable about music or just purchase what you need online. Ive personally had a good experience with Blues to Bach but it is south of the city if you are looking for a storefront to go into.

My oldest took lessons here years ago and while we were always very pleased with the instructors, the actual customer service is...not. Many negative experiences over the years, just not helpful other than delivering rudimentary customer service experience. The vibe is negative, feels as if they just want your $$$. Indubitably comes from the gal in charge, part of family. My youngest is in strings program @ NKC, and Meyer must have preferred contract with district as their booth at strings fair is largely front and center. Nope no thanks, we’ll source out from another vendor.

The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. They knew what book I needed after asking me a few questions about which school, etc. Thanks Meyer Music for being a wonderful company to work with!

I havent experienced any problems with the customer service staff at Meyer Music, and the woman teaching my daughter violin there (Mary) is an excellent fit for my daughters learning of this instrument. She is attentive, gracious, they seem to get along well, and my daughter is progressing. I would recommend this place, at least in my similar circumstance of trying to find a private violin teacher.

Excellent for instrument repair. I was disappointed at first with the price to repair my trumpet but the work done was excellent, top quality, and the service tech even threw in a slide ring which was missing before. Thanks so much!

I went in about a month ago to drop my horn off for repairs and gave my horn to them. They called and we spoke and I have them approval to do the repairs and they said it would take 1-2 weeks and I called to see what happened Tuesday and they said it would be Wednesday or Friday until I got it. It is now Saturday and I called to see why I dont have it and they told me that we are still waiting for confirmation even though I have complete confirmation during a phone call

Best music store in the KC Metro area.

This place is a joke, they rip people off and try and pass used refurbished equipment off as new. The owner goes to the schools and tells parents the instruments are new and then when you get home you find them to have scratches and dents in them. The owner blames it on seasonal workers. Believe me she knows what she is doing and is ripping people off. The instruments they sell to parents in schools are cheaply made in china. If you use Craigslist you can find used instruments for 250 dollars that if you take them to a good music store and have them polished they will look just like the ines they are leasing you to own. There are a lot other music stores in Kansas City you can lease to own from then this place. This company is just linked with all the schools and believe me they are ripping you off.

Never, never, never go here. They tried to shame us into buying a more expensive violin for our son.

I’ve been in twice and both times they were rude. Their reed selection leaves a lot to be desired as does their customer service.

I went in about a year ago to fix the back of my violin and after a few months of playing the backing came off in the same spot it did the first time exactly were they had apparently fixed it and after going to their store and asking wether or not they could fix it again they claimed that I would have to pay the full price.

Paid to have instrument fixed only for it to break in the same spot again. Refused to finish the work I paid to have done in the first place

Waste of time and money, harassment, and much more to disable people. Never Ever going here again...... if I could give 0 stars I would...

They are kind of expencive but overall pretty helpful.
