The young ladies here were SUPER helpful and kind. Not only did they help me find the right shoe for my tango, they also went the extra mile by showing me how to put my little girls hair in a bun by actually DOING it right there in the store. I will never shop for dance supplies anywhere else but here. Highly recommended!!!!

Legendary dance shoppe. So, The Dance Shoppe has everything you need for the serious dancer, along with delightful things you didnt know you wanted, to celebrate the experience of being a dancer. My dad brought me here when I was 15 to buy pointe shoes. 30 years later, I am bringing my own teenage daughters here for shoes, who have been coming here for dance shoes and leotards all their lives. Truly this place is a gem, and I hope it is here for another 30.

I absolutely love the atmosphere and the loyalty to dance lovers, that this place offers!! I have visited the Dance Shoppe, since 1991. I was just a little girl, when I first visited the store!! I will never forget the area, where you try on shoes. Its like a little studio, where you can tap or stand on point! I hope they will always remain, in the same location and it still serves me today, for my little one!!

The Dance Shoppe was wonderful! I took my two year old there to get what she needed for her first ballet class. I have zero dance experience myself so I basically had no idea what to get. The associates were cheerful and kind. They were also extremely helpful without being overbearing. It was a great experience from start to finish!

A very friendly and knowledgeable staff when it comes to fitting pointe shoes. If you dancer will be on her toes you want to make sure she has the proper shoes on her feet. The staff will make sure all aspects of the shoe are correct to keep you dancers feet in good shape. Instead of just selling shoes, the sell a proper fit.

Nowhere better in KC for pointe shoes

They sat me in a chair as if I were a child and could not see the dance shoes by myself. It got into my nerves... I felt lots of pressure because I had the feeling that I was forced to buy their stuff. They will state that it is because of COVID. I think they should find a better way to make people feel comfortable when they get in there.

Just went to the Dance Shoppe for Tap and Ballet shoes for my daughter and had a wonderful visit. So thankful for the very friendly and extra generous staff giving us their time and attention and patience to finding just the correct style, size, and fit. I am getting back into dance as an adult. This shop was very helpful finding the right shoe fit for me. I have size 11 street shoe. It was about $80 for tap shoes. They were very patient and sweet. I was also able to find tights that fit being 6 ft and 190 lbs.

Best Dance Store in the Midwest! My daughter purchased her favorite pointe shoes there last summer while she was at an Intensive. I contacted the store and was able to purchase a new pair right over the phone. We received the shoes in 3 days which is amazing. The pointe shoes had the ribbons sewn exactly like her previous pair. They were perfect! My daughter is so happy and I have never had such a flawless experience. I highly recommend shopping there for all your dance supplies!

We drove from Wichita to buy my daughters pointe shoes on Black Friday. It was super busy and our fitter took as much time as needed to get my daughter in the correct shoes and accessories- despite an ever growing line. Absolutely worth the trip- we will only be buying from here from now on.

We went on a Saturday morning, so they were very busy and it took a while for us to get what we needed. With that being said, they were staffed appropriately, they know what they are doing, and they kept the line moving at a good pace.We love the Dance Shoppe, and we will keep going back for all of our dance shoes and supplies.

Last gift left for my daughter she wanted pointed ballet shoes! Didn’t know anything about them, but the employee informed me she couldn’t sell any to me because my daughter doesn’t take ballet and could get hurt. The staff was very helpful in getting the right size for my daughter.

They did a very thorough job of fitting my daughter with pointe shoes. They keep a file of shoes so our next fitting will carry over from this one with the shoe style we purchased. They have a large selection of tights and leotards as well as leg warmers and wraps. I was very pleased with this company.

Theres a reason this store is crowded...this is the ONLY place anyone in KS or MO should be fitted for pointe shoes!!!! Im so jealous that this store is up north because I drive 45 min. now because whether my kid needs pointe shoes or not, this is the only place I spend my dance dollars in! They have a beautiful selection of leotards and practice wear and the best dance shoe selection in MO or KS! Susan and her husband are lovely and knowledgeable and they have great sales!!! One time my daughters pointe shoes died right before an audition and Susan spent an HOUR rebuilding her shoes...literally ripping out the lining, replacing all the nails, and jet gluing so she could get through her audition, AND she didnt charge us a dime!. You cant put a price tag on people that truly care about their customers. My daughter now attends Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan (Susans magic on her pointe shoes worked!) and when she needs something, I send Susan an e-mail and she ships directly to her, and always includes little extras like a care package, they make her feel so special!!! Gladstone is lucky to have you Dance Shoppe!!!

They have a great variety of dance clothes, bags, etc, to choose from. Their check out service is a little slow but thats only because of all their customers!
