If you are a mid mod fan of any degree and you dont know Ray and Greg much less Populuxe then you have got a treat in store. There is simply nothing like this store or these two gentlemen anywhere in the U.S.. I know because I came all the way in from Colorado to shop there. My husband and I bought a mid mod house in Denver and found rather quickly that we werent going to be able to find authentic pieces anywhere nearby. Friends from KC suggested Populuxe and lo and behold we furnished our entire house from there. Ray and Greg helped us every step of the way including packing up an entire moving truck of goods. Everything is curated, in great condition. The work is all done for you. Their knowledge and attention are as rare as the mid mod items they have for sale! Seriously, we furnished the big pieces for our dining room, living room, bedrooms and then added amazing finds for the kitchen from dishes to cookware to martini glasses and pitchers. Their communication back and forth was top notch and made it all possible. Prices are the best in the U.S.. Five stars and many more trips back.

Contacted Gregg about mid-century furniture thats in excellent condition and has been in my family since it was new in the 1950s. He asked for photos, which I sent, as he requested. No response more than a week later, even after I sent a followup message to the same number he provided. He could have at least had the courtesy of isnt what Im interested in, but no, nothing.If you buy from this guy and have an issue, you may have a similar experience. I, for one, dont desire that headache.

Beautiful store! The aesthetic is inspiring. Real designer furniture at a fair price. Populuxe has helped bring one of a kind creativity and originality into our home. Truly a gem of KC : )

I dont know the first thing about antiques but this place is great! I dont know what Im going to do with this glass head, but it called to me. Very nice people working there. This is an adorable strip of shops to check out.

Owner sold me this shade for $20. It was in sad, dirty shape, and hed been planning to clean and re-stitch it for a long time. But not ever finding the time, he was nice enough to let me have a go at it. Turned out well. Great place for MCM and owner is a good soul.

We were looking for mid-century modern furniture and decor and found Populuxe at 3109 Gillham Road in Kansas City, MO. Great stuff and great people. Highly recommend.

This is a great store with everything! They have lamps, couches, end tables, dining sets, sculptures, and paintings. I was in the store over the First Friday weekend and it was amazing. Once you open the door, there is a wonderful smell of freshness - as i found out - due to their selection of local-made scented candles. I dont know if they always do it, but they also had little delectable snacks and the best coffee (especially when it was so cold out that day). I cant wait to get back to KC and see what new things they have in the store that I can take back with me.

Populuxe is a great store! Excellent selection of midcentury furniture and home furnishings. We bought 2 pieces there and will be going back frequently to check things out.

First in line of a string of chatzki, trinket and treasure, furniture stores that have moved into a dilapidated area going thru a resurgence - this one gets it right. Advertising exactly what it is. IIf George Jetson/Madmen/Mid-century niche is your thing, (everyone needs a piece or two) than more than likely youll find something here youll be happy with. And not just the typical ashtray or dining chair. They have some really good finds.Prices are what you would expect. i.e. Its not a thrift store, however if you are a savvy collector you know whats up and wether to buy when you see.The hours are long weekend types. Good for my wallet.
