I am BLOWN AWAY by not only this locations amazing selection of plants, low prices, and overall health of plants BUT also by this locations wonderful owner and employees in the garden area, specifically Mrs Arlene. Super helpful staff, great hardware selection, got some lag bolts and counter sunk screws for a shop project. The store is a bit cramped for space but it adds to the hometown feel of a good ol fashioned hardware store.

The staff here are above and beyond helpful!! I just moved into my first home and it basically had 0 landscaping. The people in the nursery (especially a woman I believe named Valerie) helped me figure out what worked for me based on space, sunlight, aesthetics, and the fact that I’m a beginner plant mom! She shopped with me and created a ticket of all of the things I needed so that I had an easy check out process with so many items. Then they helped load up the truck with all the mulch and concrete pieces. I was very pleased with the service here!

5 stars for selection and proximity to my home. Everyone at this location is rather helpful and rarely do they not have what I need and some things are even cheaper than Home Depot and Lowes.

One of the best nurseries anywhere. Great selection of well cared for plants. Wide variety of outdoor and indoor plants. The store is packed with lots of great things. Prices are a little on the high side. The staff could be friendlier.

A helpful, friendly, and laid-back group that work there. They have a great selection of items and theyre not pushy or factitious. They genuinely want to help and/or educate.

Older store and some disarray on the shelves however the staff more than made up for it! The box stores are great for a quick in and out but I prefer ACE whenever given a choice. All staff knowledgeable and especially ask for Arlene I the garden area! I just moved here from Fort Myers and the zones are WAY different. She set me on the right path👍😊

The plant nursey area is amazing!! Huge veriaty and selection. Plants are very beautiful and healthy looking. Staff was very nice and friendly. Lots of staff around for help. Could have spent hours looking at all the cool plants and decorations. Worth the drive from Across town. Will be back soon. Definitely 5 stars. Highly recommend 👌

The people that dont offer help really dont offer help. But the ones that do, go above and beyond. But I love the place.Update on July 8, 2021I went up there on the 4th to get some propane and asked a guy if you all filled propane. He replied to take the empty tank to the cashier. I take it inside and the lady tells me I need to take it around back to get filled. I take it around the back to get filled but nobody was there. So I left. All in all about 10 minutes of waiting just to leave and go to RaceTrac and get it filled in two minutes paid and out the door. Kinda bummed but Ill be back Im sure. I did ask the guy why ran me around like that though because I was irritated by the whole thing.

This is one of the best and friendliest Ace Hardware stores I have ever experienced. The staff is always super friendly and helpful! The location is also very convenient if you live in the Southside/Deerwood area of Jacksonville! My new discovery is their cat litter which works wonders and is dust free.

Great store, but negative 3 stars for pushy vendors out front who wont stop annoying me when I try to shop there. Its like telemarketers at the gates. Beyond obnoxious. Get rid of them and focus on your store sales.

Honestly it is hard to want to come here and support locally when you cannot get any help especially when you specifically asked for it. I understand not having enough staff to just have people hanging around waiting to answer questions but when you seek out an employee and are looking for assistants and nobody knows anything its just frustrating. We are definitely paying more for anything we get here and yes its probably less time than having to walk in and out of Walmart but not going to bother if thats how its going to be when I do try to come in and support.....

Good local store, has most things youll need. Friendly folks and a good garden section. Someone there very obviously loves grills and grilling.

Good store. Like most ACE Hardware they have lots of stock. You never know what you might find as they have many items you may not associate with a hardware store. The store has a small town kind of vibe which is nice in contrast to the busyness of city life.

Compared to other Ace Hardwares in the Jax area, the Proctor store is smaller, dirtier, and has less product selection. The aisles are cramped, so expect plenty of bumping/shuffling around other people while browsing their merchandise. The floors are old, dirty concrete - just check out the pictures. I looked at a bottom rack of KN95 face masks, and there was dust and grime all over the packaging. Yuck. They dont carry specialty hardware like automotive body fasteners, so I have to drive to a bigger, better Ace like Hagan to find those. If cramped, outdated stores are charming, then youll love Proctor Ace. I dont recommend this store because there are far better options in town.

I love this store! They are always helpful with whatever I need, no matter what Im trying to find. It has a small neighborhood vibe to it which I like. Plus, I love the fact that they have rescued cats roaming around the store. It tells me that they care even about the smallest things, which I admire and respect.

Ace is the place in Jacksonville. Never been to an Ace Hardware that was packed with this much product!!

I came in today trying to learn more about my sprinkler system and all the different pieces and parts. a gentleman came up and asked me if I needed help. That was very nice. And he also had extensive knowledge about sprinkler systems and was able to help me with everything I needed. I really appreciate the idea that the people who work for Ace hardware are always trying to help you. I feel like they are very available and there are enough of them that you dont feel like you have to walk around the store for 20 minutes trying to find someone to help you.

If you are interested in buying gas powered equipment, shop elsewhere. Be advised that their policy, which is fully listed on their web page, states that once you add gas to the equipment, it cannot be returned. This means that the only way to try the product, and determine if it does work by adding gas, makes it ineligible for return. So if the equipment is faulty right out of the box—as ours was,—your only recourse is to work with the manufacturer on warranty repairs. This company does not hide their policy. Just read it ahead of time, if you want to do business with them.

I fully support Ace Hardware. They are a small community business that really caters to their customers. They have a huge selection of unique, quality item. Knives, clothing, unique garden and patio items. Their greenhouse displays an array of beautiful plants. Their staff is knowledgeable and someone actually waters and tends to all plants. Great selection of orchids and a great place to shop for a gift. Something for everyone there.

This is the closest thing to your neighborhood hardware shop of yesteryear with kind personal staff assistance and even a resident kittycat! The have an amazing selection considering the relative small footprint of the store. The gardening section is also top notch with an impressive knowledgeable staff.

I went in just to see their selection of orchids and was told in a couple weeks more will be coming in. Its a nice store but my only complaint is their orcas are so expensive. I understand the price on the vandas but not some of the others. But anyway I was happy to leave with a little Violet for $4.99. she wasnt the best bred plant but she had a few pretty blooms on her to cheer my day. The young woman who checked me out was great. She offered and got me set up with an Ace card for rewards which should be handy because I buy a lot of orchids at Ace. Im heading over to BJs though now for an orchid sale they were absolutely gorgeous double stemmed 2 for 14.99. versus same type at aAce for 24.99

Twice I have been to this place to get a propane refill, while the sun was out after a rainstorm they give the excuse but they dont do it during a storm.

Was able to find what I needed was able to get in and out in a timely manner. Cashier could have showed more enthusiasm

Its alittle intimidating going in here sometimes but if you can find an employee they are always willing to help. I needed help with a insecticide for my home. The employee asked questions as far as pets and stuff before he gave recommendations. I ended up buying 2 of his recommendations because of his knowledge

Great store always what looking for ,okay prices

This was honestly a frustrating trip. We went in to purchase a grill. Found the one we wanted and asked for help. We were helped, however there were two price tags on the item. One on the outside of the handle and one on the inside attached to an additional piece. The manager was brought over and she wouldnt honor the price on the outside of the grill. I dont work at Ace Hardware, I didnt put the wrong price tag on the grill, they should have done what other businesses do and honor the price marked on the product. Ive never been anywhere before where they dont honor the price marked on the product. So much for customer service. Instead she blamed her staff!

Great stock, I was looking for metric bolts to mount my new TV the the occasion wall. They have a stock of hard to find fasteners too.

I just found this store about a week ago. Its pretty much like an old fashion hardware store. The employees know where things are and are very helpful. The prices are competitive with big box but the shopping experience is betterment.

This store has always seemed crowded but today we had to be careful in almost every aisle. Step stools, parts, and debris in the walkways made navigating an already crowded area more hazardous. The other person with me is legally blind so I was having to pay extra attention in addition to looking for the items needed.

Almost never leave without what I came for. I find myself in need of obscure hardware often and this is my go to place.I recently had trouble with my (6 year old) Stihl weed eater. The tech told me what the most plausible problem was and explained how to repair. 15 minutes of work and it’s running like new. Thanks for the tip!!!

I prefer the small hardware store over the lumber yards. I never have had to wait here for assistance. Yet with those larger stores, bring a blanket and a lot of patience. I waited over an hour for help cutting lumber and left behind a $1000 planned purchase at the big box store.

I love this Ace location. Arlene is the best! She is so knowledgeable about gardening & milkweed & butterflies which is what I visited Ace about initially. Now I always go back to specifically get her recommendations. She is always so helpful & reliable & she makes sure my milkweed isn’t sprayed with pesticides. I highly recommend her & this Ace location. I’ve heard her answer every gardening dilemma without hesitation. I don’t trust anyone else with my gardening needs.

Worst Ace Ive ever been in, they sell copper pipe fittings but not copper pipe. Similar to selling hot dog buns but not hot dogs.

I go here at least once a week due to it being so close. Employees are great. I love the fact they take care of the Shop Cats. I only have 2 issues.1. There are so many items on the shelves with no price tags. I cant tell you how many times I have passed up purchasing an item simply because I dont know the price.2. On MANY occasions, the price that I was charged was more than what was displayed on the shelf. There is also no customer display to show the items and prices as they are run up. You dont know of any pricing errors until you have already paid and see your receipt.Fix these issues and you get 5 stars from me.

Ive been shopping here for 5 years, and I cant count how many times theyve saved the day from having the hardware I need or emergency supplies like soap or charcoal for impromptu BBQs. I always shop here first before going to the big stores.

This is one of my favorite chains and the staff is always helpful and super friendly; however, this location is a lil claustrophobic.ps...hoping Santa will be good to me!

My favourite place on the weekend! I make 3 or 4 trips (if I am lucky) when working on home improvement projects. I love the selection of household cleaners, the garden center, the paint section. I love the fresh popcorn. I even like them for last minute birthday cards! I even like that they feed a sweet kitty cat and I can bring my dog in. Thanks Proctor Ace, you da best!

I went to the garden department yesterday specifically for plants for my gazebo and was completely ignored. I was able to get 1 question in to the lady while she was waiting for someone to drive up. When she was done she walked right past me like I wasn’t there. Went to her station then helped another customer when she walked up. At this point I left my basket and left! I went to Lowe’s and bought several plants and had someone help me through it all. Needless to say I will not be back. This woman always has a snarky answer for me like I am stupid. This is not how Ace is supposed to be!

This store is so cluttered & untidy. I am comparing this to my Ace In Macclenny, Fla which is very organized & neat, just saying!!!

Overall I have been satisfied with this Ace, my favorite part being that they refill propane tanks, and at a reasonable price. Some items are a great value, like the Stihl non-coated edger blades at half the price I find them elsewhere. Some other items have been overpriced, occasionally by quite a bit. Ive come to understand they will price match on most items, but Id rather a reasonable price without that hassle. Its nice to have the assortment of plumbing and electrical products close to home. The service has always been very friendly, and I usually find them helpful. As long as they keep filling propane tanks, Ill keep going back.

I prefer to shop at the locally owned stores instead of the big box places. This is close to my work and house so it’s convenient. They carry just about everything you would expect from an Ace hardware and the people are helpful. Main reason for 3 stars is the place is usually a mess. Stuff in the aisles not stocked. Shelves sometimes go too long before being reorganized and parts get mixed up. Could take a lesson from Hagans who does an awesome job in all areas. It’s just not as close.Update Oct 2021- Not sure if there is new management but they are doing some nice remodeling to the store. Inside seems more organized too. Moved to 4 stars.

Why have I been shopping big box stores so long?? Thats the question I asked myself when leaving Ace yesterday. I went in to get a replacement fuse for my equipment. The bigger box stores didnt have them, but I looked online and Ace showed them in store.I was greeted at the door by Kenny. He asked if I needed help and I told him what I was looking for. He searched and searched but could not find the fuse I needed (turns out I googled the wrong size. They had the amp is needed just not the right dimensions) After about 10-15 of looking Kenny grabbed an Ace bag and wrote down all the info I needed from the fuse. He even took the time to measure it so I could Google the correct size.The store overall is welcoming with lots of items for a gardener like myself. Beautiful plants! Even though they didnt have the fuse I needed I will shop here again. The service was outstanding!

I love the store! It has a lived in kind of atmosphere soon as I walk in the door I feel like home! They have the same employees and they have a nice variety of different things to buy they have a great paint section and employees that run that are very knowledgeable and always do a great job matching the colors that I ask for. Their plant and garden section is absolutely beautiful they have all types of colors of flowers and different greens I mean just a great variety of things to buy I just bought a little piggy for my garden and it is so cute I absolutely love it they have quite the unique things. Theyre very helpful always willing to go above and beyond. The parking lot was easy to navigate through very clean well-lit area.

I shop at several ACE Hardware around Jacksonville and this is definitely one of the very best. Their prices are reasonable and the folks in their Garden Center are very well educated on plants, fertilizing, etc. Every plant and flower Ive bought here has thrived. Keep up the great work, support your local Ace Hardware and keep the dollars in town!!

Your local hardware store really a great staff and excellent service. The one thing about going to your local hardware store is you can find somebody with knowledge to help you out. This place goes the extra distance to achieve that. Sure we could all go to the big corporate Giant Stores but you can never find anybody to help you. Sure youre going to pay a couple nickels more but the overall experience you will receive will far greater outweigh the dime you will save in the end!

Loved it! Ace is one of my favorites! Always BEAUTIFUL TELAVERA POTS to choose from, a little pricey but beautiful. Great cactus plants some that are rare and hard to find, dont need to worry about them dying on you because their healthy. Love this PLACE called ACE! 😉🇯🇲
