This place is the best place to go for help with your guitar. The gentleman who helped us was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We actually had fun when he re-stringed my daughters guitar. And the price was so cheap I felt guilty. We are customers for life.

Very cool place, it has a warm and welcoming vibe to it. The people there are very polite and knowledgeable about music and instruments. Which is great because a lot of music stores dont know what theyre talking about or just try and sell you stuff you dont need. Had lessons here as well, really terrific lessons. Cant wait to go back soon.

Took an old guitar of mine in there to have it set up(pick ups swap, tone pots replaced, locking tuners put on.) The guitar was done in a timely manner and looks BEAUTIFUL. Also extra measures were taken such as neck realignment, action adjustment, oiled the fretboard and cleaned up the dust and rust on the bridge all at a beyond fair price.

I had to order a guitar from Washington state for a kid at Jacksonville University. Service was beyond exceptional and I had trouble figuring out how my son would get the instrument, and the gentleman who answered the phone offered to deliver it. Oh my goodness - I can’t say enough. Seriously.

Like others have previously stated, Joel really knows how to setup a guitar. He did my acoustic guitar setup while I waited, we talked a bit and he helped me find my next dream guitar, too. My guitar was returned to me in better than ever condition, much more player friendly. Best $50 I have ever spent on my guitar obsession. I plan to take my others up there once the strings wear out.

I have been going to Guitars United for about a year now, getting work done ranging from professional set-ups, electrical work, miscellaneous parts, and general inquiries. Of all I just listed, Joel and the staff at Guitars United have always given 100% satisfaction with everything I needed. Today, I called about an hour before they closed to see if they would change a pickup for me really quick, Joel said sure and to bring the guitar in. My husbands beloved Gibson guitar was literally snapped in two when my two year old tumbled into it. I called Guitars United and Joel reassured me that it could be fixed. I have to be honest, my husband wasnt very hopeful, but when he picked up the guitar he was amazed. It looks and sounds better than it used to! I would go see Joel with any guitar issues whatsoever!! He also has a beautiful selection of instruments for sell as well.

I would be very careful about taking a Taylor guitar there if your string action needs to be lowered. Instead of doing a neck reset like Taylor recommends, they tend to sand the saddle, reducing the string angle and decreasing the tone.While it is common with most brands of guitars to sand the saddle, it is not appropriate for a Taylor, since they have a bolt on neck, that can easily be adjusted by someone who knows what they are doing. Taylor does not recommend sanding the saddle, but adjusting the neck angle. Evidently Joel is not aware of this.

These guys have done a fret polish and several setups on my guitars. They did great work and I wouldnt hesitate to use them again. They always have a nice varied selection of new and used guitars, amps and other music gear in their shop from Gibson, Ibanez, Fender, Taylor, Martin,Yamaha, etc., as well. Always helpful and kind. I highly recommend Guitars United.

Even though I moved out of Jacksonville 4 years ago, this is a must visit every time I do come back. First and foremost, if you strive for excellent customer service, take notes. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is incredibly friendly and always willing to talk shop or anything else for that matter. Any staff member that still works there from when I was going still remembers me and will have conversations like nothing has changed. It really makes you feel like a valued customer to be honest.My musical career evolved with this store and its staff being a huge help and influence from their first spot right across the bridge, to the shopping center further down San Jose and back to right by the bridge.I seriously cannot speak highly enough of this group. Their repairs are top notch and if I had the money, Id send my equipment down here to do the work on rather than any other luthier around here. Today was my first time visiting this store, and I could not be more pleased with the staff and services I received. I brought my Gibson 335 in for a setup and I was so pleased with the store that I went home to grab my Les Paul for the same setup. Prices are very reasonable- I picked up a new cable and the pedal I chose was 10 bucks cheaper than what I had found online from other stores. Guitars United is also very military friendly. I will absolutely be returning for ALL my future needs. They also offer very competitively priced personal lessons. What a cool store!

This is a groovin home style guitar shop as real as it gets. The most honest trustworthy shop I know and have ever been to! Joel was helpful. He explained exactly what he was doing and made an old guitar look and sound like new.He got a little weird when I asked about lessons. Im honestly not sure what that was about, but it felt like I was getting pushed out of the store. They really didnt want to give me lessons. Probably the right move

I took my son into Guitars United and he was like a kid in a candy shop. Joel was so nice and let my son play anything he wanted and encouraged him to play many different ones to see what felt best to him. He was never pushy and not once did we feel like he was being dishonest. My son was looking at some really nice, expensive guitars and Joel told us the pros and cons of all of them and then pointed us to one that was half the cost of the ones my son was looking at because he said it was the best bang for the buck and just as good as the more expensive ones my son was looking at. That is a class act in my book! No doubt, that is where I will be giving my business!

Repaired my Vintage 77 Electra MPC Les Paule Clone electronics problem and this guitar is electronically advanced even by todays standards . Had it finished as we spoke within a day I had back a seemingly new 35 year old guitar. Excellent work excellent people. Ive been going to Joel for a while now and he does great work!Does very good work and is a very honorable/honest guy, I brought him Lindy Fralin pickups both for my PJ bass and Thin-line Telecaster to install.He installed the bass pickups no problem but accidentally broke a small exposed wire on the bridge tele pickup.He called me and left a message apologizing saying he ordered another one and would cover the cost for the replacement.If you ever need a guitar luthier and need someone who is honest and will do good work go to Guitars United!!!

When you post your store hours may I suggest you actually be open during those hours.? I drove 2 hrs to pick up my sons guitar which was in for warranty repair. I got to your store 30 minutes before closing time and the place was a ghost town. Very pissed off! 4 hrs of wasted driving and a wasted day. Very unprofessional.

I have been here for two exciting lessons (Ive actually learned enough that my husband likes to hear my practicing baritone uke). I went near Walmart to have a strap peg put on my uke and they charged me 25 bucks and said pick it up in a week. I was going to rent an instrument in the meantime so went to guitars united and asked to rent for a week. Ended up paying 6 dollars( instead of 25 dollars) and right in front of me took less than 2 minutes to put peg on, handed my baritone uke right back to me. 5 stars for trustworthiness! Thank you!
