Place is usually busy, which tells you they are doing things right. Our orders were prepared exceptionally well and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was great, but a little slow at the register on the way out due to the people arriving and waiting to get on the list. Overall a great experience that our kids loved and are eager to return. Highly recommended.
Fantastic service & food! We were greeted with huge smiles and friendliness by all staff. Our waitress was Lindsay and she was GREAT!!! We had the fried chicken and fish tacos with sweet potatoes for the side. Please do the up charge for cinnamon and powdered sugar on your fries. The fried chicken does take a little bit of time but it’s made per order! It was so freaking good!!! Defiantly try to save some room for dessert too! We shared the Reese’s cake (YUMMY!).
This is a must stop if you are in town for breakfast. While looking at the menu online I knew that I wanted to try this local diner. The prices were reasonable and the items were not your typical chain restaurant variety. My choice was solidified when I was looking for things to do in the area and The Kettle diner was a must do on the list. I ordered the chicken and waffles because I figured it was a southern dish and I havent ever tried it before. I was skeptical when it arrived and just looked like two waffles with chicken tenders on them and the gravy on the side. It was delicious. The chicken was a good quality, the gravy was good, and the waffles were the best I have ever had. The combination of sweet and savory could not have been any better. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are trying to find a local place to eat instead of an over priced chain restaurant.
Positives: fish tacos are great, cheese fries, and homemade ranch. Service was great, prices were reasonable. Quick to bring out food 14 layer cake was good.Negatives: Mac N cheese was not good, reuben was lacking, salad could have been a little beefier with the green peppers and such, Reese cake was too dry and not what I expected.

Lets begin by saying the southern hospitality is warm and sincerely polite beyond most. Now the breakfast was deliciously scrumptious 😋 the place was crowded but we were seated immediately with no waiting, highly recommended, and will gladly visit again.

Food here is pretty darn good. And the prices are respectable. Service also was superb. Would highly recommend if you are passing through Jacksonville or a resident. Try the hamburger steak or chicken fried steak. You wont be disappointed.
I had such high hopes for this place. It was always packed and seemed so good based on their menu.Then you arrive.My dad and I went for a late breakfast today and I couldn’t even finish the meal.The pancakes were still frozen in the middle and the size of the frozen ones you get from Walmart.The corned beef hash was straight out of the .65 can you can get from the store.The bacon was precooked and so chewy my jaw hurt.The biscuits were so dry I had to drown them in syrup and still couldn’t stomach it.We saw a plate of chicken and waffles go out and the waffles were so tiny and the chicken is a frozen tender.The owner had zero intentions of flavoring anything or even trying to make the food taste good. You can tell this owner is only in it for the money and has zero passion for food.My suggestion? Go to Waffle House. The food tastes better and you get more food for less cost. I wouldn’t even feed this to my dogs let alone suggest anyone go here.Do better Kettle.
My favorite diner in Jacksonville, their breakfast is amazing! The wait staff very friendly and professional, the restaurant is also very clean and all COVID protocols are followed, such as the mask wearing by the wait staff, tables cleaned etc.Love their breakfast to death but I’ll have to stop by for lunch sometime.
The staff were fast and delightful. I even had the manager stop to ask if everything was to my liking.
We went with a group of 9. Service was good for a Friday night.We had the shrimp dinner. It was a good price and lots of food. without a lot flavor. It is a small diner type place so it was expected.
The wifey and I went there for breakfast & we throughly enjoyed ourselves the food was very good & the place was very clean .. The wait staff were on point and we will definitely be coming back 🤘😎
The Kettle Diner is our favorite place to go eat. Our 2 favorite meals are the Texas Breakfast and the Liver Dinner. We highly recommend you go give them a try you will not regret it at all. We give it 5 stars.

Another good southern diner with that classic feel. I had the fish tacos for lunch and they were perfect. Service was good and fairly quick considering the lunch crowd.
The food was real down home southern delicious and the portions were over the top. The staff was pleasant and friendly. No holds barred a clear winner Ill be back.
This is one of my all time favorites. I always visit this diner when Im on the way to the beach. They have excellent food and the service is exceptional. I highly recommend the deserts for a great finish to your meal. The pot roast is the best thing on the menu!
Great place, great food, great customer service. The owner is a sweetheart to all plus oversees all aspects when hes there. Very family oriented in his business and with his customers. Sometimes busy so expect a wait. But worth it.
Good breakfast food. We wanted to eat somewhere that wasnt a chain. Other than the fact that they were slammed busy when we went and the front hostess station/ cashier was a bit chaotic while waiting for our table, I cant find anything Id complain about. I had an omelet with fried potatoes and corned beef hash. They were a little light on the salt but it was provided and it was exactly what I was craving. Ill be back when Im in that area next.
We try to go to the Kettle everytime we come to the beach. Awesome food and awesome wait staff. Highly recommend this place.
Good and service both were great. The sweet tea was just how I like it... good and sweet. Server made sure to keep or drinks full. It was less than $50 for 2 adults and 5 children.
This was our second time eating at The Kettle Diner. The first time it was breakfast for dinner, but this time we wanted vegetables. I got the hamburger steak with mushrooms and onions and gravy with mashed potatoes and green beans. Very tasty! My husband got the pot roast with butter beans and a sweet potato. The potato was huge enough to split and we also sampled each others vegatables. He really liked the pot roast! He even took some home, it was so much! We chose the cornbread for our bread because we were told it was homemade. It was really good as well! The waitress was very attentive and took care of anything we wanted (sugar and cinnamon for the sweet potato on the side and just the right kind of artificial sweetener for my husbands tea). Well be back again, Im sure, the next time were in Jacksonville.

Lots of selection on the menu. I got a Reuben and it was so-so. The bread was a little burned, which affected the taste of the whole sandwich. Without that, it wouldve been fine, but not great. Our server was extremely friendly though.
We prefer this location to most because of the hometown feel in here. Friendly folks with great service, quick food delivery. What more could you ask for. Recommended for a great sit down meal.
Extremely crowded and the food sat in the window for a while before it was brought out.I realize that places are understaffed but being turned away and eating at home ( or making reservations) might be better than wasting money on cold french toast, spongy biscuits and an undercooked, fatty steak.The two stars were for the friendly enough service and the assumption that the food would have been regular diner fare if it had been served fresh.
I had the French-Style Deuces and my husband had the Pot Roast(we tried each others). All of the food was cooked perfect, perfect! We were planning our next visit while sitting there.

On the day my family went there to eat, the hostess Amanda overheard a cranky baby boy crying so she was sweet enough to give him a stuffed animal to occupy him until our food came. Not only was that a great help the delicious food sealed the deal. Couldnt thank her enough for it and we will be coming back more often
My wife and I have eaten ar the kettle many times with great visits on our last visit my wifes order was delivered with her meat more than 50% fat. We attempted to get Amanda our waitresses help but for quite a while couldnt find her. We finally got another waitress to return the plate that was clearly impossible to eat to the kitchen. After a while Amanda showed back up with my wifes order still had a lot of fat but was able to be cut around. After she finished Amanda who never did check on our table and even refill our drinks. My wifes meat clearly was way beyond serving and service from waitress was zero.

The service was great and the food palatable. Portion size is never going to be an issue. Look for the waitress who has a glass balancing skill Ive never seen. Hard to find parking during busy hours! Once in, its pretty quick to get seated. Service was caring and excellent! Felt welcomed and got taken care of quick and efficiently.Had Steak omelet with an extra egg and potatoes. The potatoes were good with those green peppers and the ketchup which was in that red vessel but tasted like Heintz, which is the only Ketchup I like.Not sure about the food quality tho; wasnt too impressed with the steak being a mashed burger and the cheese was Jizz cheese I believe. Id rather have real meat and cheese, but guess the price was matching reality. Otherwise wouldve graded 5star.Except that I was really happy overall and probably will come back to try their specials.If you never been here, come and try! Worth your time and money. Enjoy

I have driven by this place several times and it is always busy. My family and i finally decided to go and see how there food was. Mustve been good for how much foot traffic they get. We went there for breakfast and honestly i was better of going to Waffle house. Their pancakeshonestly looked like those small frozen pancakes you would buy at a grocery store. Their biscuits and gravy were ok. Their hash browns seemed like they were frozen at first and then cooked. Didnt really have much taste to them. My family wasnt too impressed either. I have not tried their lunch or dinner. I might return to give it a shot. Food was ok overall.
Place had a line of about 15 people waiting prior to their 8 am opening. Service was great and food came quickly and was also great! Will absolutely go back!
I had the turkey Supreme, Hunt club, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. Everything had the homemade feel and texture you want from diner food. You can get lunch stuff during breakfast time. No one does this. You gotta try it.

We used to enjoy eating here. Bad experience dining here this evening, though. It took an hour after ordering to get food on the table. The restaurant was busy, but other diners came, ordered, ate, then left while we sat waiting. (Perhaps the waitress forgot to put in our order -- it happens.) After our meal the cashier asked how everything was, and I hesitated. So I told her about the long delay. She just left us, then returned with someones take-out order. No explanation. We paid our bill and left. Dining at the Kettle tonight wasnt a pleasant experience. 😕

This is food people! It’s serious stuff! You can only eat so many meals in your life and I know I sure want to enjoy mine. The variety, quality, fresh ingredients, and service are what make this my go to place in Jacksonville.They have so much better variety than any other restaurant so everyone will find something they like. (Yes even that picky one in your family. You know which one I’m talking about. Yep, them.) If it’s on their menu it’s going to be delicious so definitely change it up. No stale menus here either, they buy local fresh ingredients and and change their specials constantly. I want to eat fresh food that’s in season and there specials are always my favorite.The seafood is my favorite in town but they only buy it when it’s fresh so when they have it order it. I love the grilled shrimp. They are huge! None of that popcorn stuff here and the flavor is great. Fried Chicken is another special that I would take over any Fried Chicken place in town. I love their French Toast, their Pork Chops, their Chicken Tenders, and the list gos on honestly.Case and point if you want delicious quality food at very fair prices stop by The Kettle you won’t be disappointed.
