1st time and by far the best eye experience Ive ever had. Truly professional and treat You not a # or how fat your pocket book is . They actually honor the appt time and does not take all day.

I waited 2 weeks for an appointment at the Jacksonville location. Because I have to drive an hour from Saint Augustine, I called once I left my house to confirm I was headed to the correct location. I googled “Atlantic Eye Doctor, Jax FL” and called the telephone number. The woman on the phone took my name and confirmed this was indeed the right location.I arrived on time (15 minutes early as requested) only to be told that I was at the wrong location. Apparently they have TWO Jacksonville locations. After assuring the front desk I called on my way, she told me that all the phone calls are hard wired to the main location. This isn’t helpful, because when you simply google it the address with the phone number pops up. And because I assumed that the phone number I called to confirm my location matched the address I ended up getting sent to the wrong location. The receptionist do this every day and didn’t consider this?I asked how far the other location was, it was 20 minutes away. Thankfully the receptionist called them and they said they could still take me. Once I left and got there I was late, but they were super friendly. Unfortunately I waited in the examination room for almost AN ADDITIONAL HOUR. The doctor was super sweet but came in for 30 seconds.Despite the mix up with the locations and lack of communication this was a nice place, friendly staff. But not how to feel about the 3 hour ordeal 😬

On my visit I was very well taken care of by everyone I came in contact with. Everyone was very professional and made me feel welcome. Dr. Callegari was a pleasure to talk to. I would very much recommend Atlantic Eye Institute.

I LOVE this eye doctor. Took my son for an exam and new glasses and contacts. They saw him promptly and did a thorough exam and took their time with him. Both the technician and the doctor (Dr. Felver) were absolutely wonderful. On top of that, the optical technician was kind enough to fit glasses to my sons head and check that the prescription was correct and we didn’t even purchase the glasses from her we purchased them online. I have been coming here for years on years and every single time I do, I am waiting for at least an hour in the waiting room and then another hour and a half in between my dilation and seeing the doctor. And every single time I go it is completely dead so only god knows why they are so freaking slow. I’ve yet again just missed another day of work because I am still sitting in this infamous waiting room 3 hours after when I was supposed to be seen.

Always a great and clean place. Ive been going to Dr. Felver for about a year now and he always shows concern and listens. All the workers there treat you like youre a friend not just a patient. I highly recommend Atlantic eye Institute. I also see Dr. Vance, she did my laser surgery and is amazing. Didnt rush thru the surgery and let me take breaks when needed. I suffer from panic attacks and she was extremely empathetic and conscious about it.

I had my PRK LASER SURGERY Friday 5/28. DR Samara and his team are truly amazing. From the time of my consultation to the days in between leading to my procedure, nothing but care and knowledge and just treating me with so much kindness. I thank each and everyone one of them. I was so nervous but they explained everything they were going to do. As im recovering Dr Samara even sent me a text just to see how I was feeling. I went there to treat a sty. After 2 trips he supposed to give me a steroids shot. The sty got bigger and would not heal. I went to Shumes eye clinic in Ponte Vedra and found out he missed my sty. Since I just got a shot Dr Shmunes had to wait to give me another shot. They were more worried about a ski trip to Colorado than the patient. Wouldnt go back to that place

This office is amazing. The staff is professional and compassionate. Our entire family goes here. My mom went until she passed. The interaction between the doctors and staff with my mom was awesome. They never rushed her, taking their time to wait for her to follow, made sure she understood the directions and questions. Love them all!

Had an overall positive experience. The staff is really nice and my optometrist was was warm and friendly.The only thing was the wait time and with extra cost. I got charged 100$ for contact lens fitting and was told after the fact. They should have told me before hand because honestly I didnt need it and would have declined had a known.

Decades of satisfaction with these folks! Theyre very professional and easy to talk to & ask questions to. Answers are always easy to understand. They honestly care about my health, of my eyes in particular, of course! Once or twice in the past, I had a serious issue arise on a weekend, and they eagerly provided the necessary treatment quicker than I thought might be likely.

This is my 3rd visit. Ive been waiting for an hour already. I always make a point to be on time for appointments and I expect to be seen in a reasonable an of time. The staff is very nice but there is no reason to wait for over an hour for an appointment.

I cant give enough praise to Dr. Duss and the team at Atlantic Eye Institute. I had PRK surgery done 4 weeks ago and it has been a life changing experience for me. I started wearing glasses when I was 8 years old, and contacts not much longer after that. Ive been very nearsighted my whole life. I decided after years of wearing glasses and contacts, and the occasional eye infection, that I wanted to finally have my vision corrected. I went in for an evaluation and was told by Dr. Duss that I was a candidate for PRK. The day of the surgery went smooth, and the staff during the whole experience were very polite and professional. Im now almost 4 weeks out of my surgery and my vision is perfect 20/20. Im amazed at how good my vision is now and wish I would have done it sooner. If youve been thinking about having your vision corrected I highly recommend Atlantic Eye Institute.

I have a high astigmatism and glasses where getting expensive for the lenses. Dr Felver said I would get the best vision out of new hard contacts. My prior experience when Dr Lancaster tried to fit me to hard contacts wasnt good, but this time, the lenses felt great, and my vision is much better than any glasses could provide. I highly recommend these lenses for anyone who has trouble with contacts or has a high astigmatism and wants clear, crisp vision like I have now.Thanks !!!

After Dr. Deuss examined my eyes it was like a miracle After Cataract and Laser treatment I now have almost 20/20 vision. Dr. Shmunes has been my ophthalmologist for over twenty years. He treats my glaucoma which has prevented any loss of sight. He engenders confidence and trust. He performed laser surgery on my left eye to lower and maintain the pressure. He will do the same procedure on my right in two weeks and after a period of time evaluate the results. He is simply the best.The tech, Danny, is knowledgeable and friendly and puts you at ease.

I went to the office at the beach and experienced long wait times. To the point I had been there multiple hours. It felt like they had forgotten about me. They insisted I come back for this appointment, I waited 2 hours for someone to see me, before I finally went up to the desk to ask when I would be seen. Suddenly I was called next, it looked like they were too busy with pharmaceutical sales reps to tend to their patients. When they finally brought me in after the long wait, they quickly checked my eye and requested I come back again in 2 more days. So I waited hours for a 5 minute check to be told to come back and do it again.Secondly, I owed a balance of $62, a lady from their office called me to collect what I owed. She insisted I only owed $32 I asked many times if she was sure and she said yes, so I assumed insurance covered the rest. Later they called to collect the remainder, $30 and I explained what happened and that I would not be paying as it was their mistake and I was told I paid my balance in full and offered a receipt. She said no problem she’ll take care of it. Now I have an account for $30 in collections thanks to these greedy doctors. I’ll be disputing as I have all receipts. It would be nice if they could focus on anything other than money. 0/5 stars would not recommend unless you like being screwed around.

After suffering from eye trauma I started having major visual disturbances. When I googled these symptoms it was obvious to me that I had a torn retina. I went to see Dr. Duss on a Friday, and explained this to him. He told me that I had normal floaters that people get from aging...I told him that this all began after temporarily losing my sight after a recent trauma. He said that he was looking right at my retina, and there was nothing wrong with it...Needless to say that I was practically blind in that eye when I went back to the Eye Institute on Monday. A different Dr. quickly recognized that my retina was torn, and immediately sent me to there Retina specialist for corrective surgery..Thank god it seems to be healing properly which is taking much longer due to the bleeding that occurred over that week end.. The real kicker is that I had to pay $275. for a misdiagnoses that I cant get them to rescind...I really wish I had went some where else..

Great eye care. Love Dr. Lancaster - been seeing him for years and he has always been able to resolve any issues I have had with my contacts and vision. The only two things I dont like are that the wait time in the office always seems to be lengthy (before eye exam and then again between exam and seeing the doctor) and moving back and forth between rooms is obnoxious.

Dr. Felver was amazing. He was very personable and attentive and made sure I was comfortable during the entire exam. I will be sticking with him for all my eye exams in the future.

I literally just came back from my Lasik and wow this team is AWESOME!!!!! They talked me through everything and made me so comfortable and let me tell you. I was terrified. I had the pleasure of MD Diaz working on me. She was awesome. Im so happy I chosed them to do my Lasik. I will definitely recommend them for anybody who is thinking about doing Lasik.

Though the service is very good, I find that they take too long to complete the process. I arrived at 7:18 am but did not step out the door until 8:46 am. AEI needs to become more proficient in the handling of their customers. An hour and a half is a waste of my time when the process could be done in forty-five minutes or less. A customer should be be able to go into one room for the entire procedure, not led through five different rooms.

I’m not a fan of new places but found this practice and all staff I interacted with to be very friendly and knowledgeable. My concerns were listened to better than I thought as I am seeing better now than I have for the last 3 years. Driving and computer screens are no longer a problem. I can keep my contacts in for both now, and no more problems. Thank you, Mark

I am not sure who did my eye exam before seeing Dr. Duss, maybe she was a nurse, but I didnt go there to be examined by her, I was there to get a professional service. I said that my eye is in tears every day for a year and Dr. Dusss response was I dont see that now. Do you want a surgery, and I found myself out of his room in 5 minutes with a little lubricant eye drops! I can see that he is busy with his patients and couldnt spend more time with me but I am a very busy person who doesnt have time to go to a doctor whenever I want. Little respect please.

I had PRK 8 years ago by Dr Duss and have been 20/15 ever since which has been a blessing especially working in healthcare. I referred my 20 yr old son for laser correction surgery and not only did Dr Duss also operate on him, but we received a nice friends and family discount! Anyone I have talked to that has gone through vision correction surgery at a place other than Atlantic Eye Institute has suffered issues down the road. I can safely say this place is top of the line and I wouldn’t trust my eyesight to anyone else!

At 64 and not being very pleased with my last exam or the doctor at one of the popular chains here in town , I chose Atlantic Eye Institute in hopes of getting a thorough exam and a decent pair of glasses. I was impressed with the staff and the assistants and their attention through out the exam, I saw Dr. Lancaster and was extremely impressed with him, i received the most thorough exam i have ever had, everything was explained clearly and in detail. I have been going to ATLANTIC EYE INSTITUTE for the last 11 1/2 years since moving to Florida. I was really hoping to replicate the services and doctors that I had in New York. After searching for a couple months and asking various real estate agents and others I was directed to Atlantic Eye Institute and specifically Dr. Lancaster. Even though the trip is fairly long, about 38 miles, I have always been pleased with my decision. On several occasions I have had other doctors at Atlantic Eye Institute for specialized treatments and they were all very personable and extremely competent. No matter whether you go to the Bennett RD. or the Jax Beach office you will receive excellent care from the doctors and staff.

Since then I was contacted and billing was corrected hat rectified the situation to $0 owed and the collection company was notified to stop collections procedure.Now I can go back to just the simple experience Ive going in and having a good eye exam.

I went to Atlantic Eye for LASIK. I was extremely satisfied by the care and welcome feeling I had when coming to the office. Poor customer experience with the billing department. My husband and I came in to have a general checkup, which is 100% covered through our health insurance. We received the bill, and found out that we were being charged $105 and they submitted my husbands general eye exam as a medical eye issue instead, although he never complained of any eye problems and his purpose at the doctor was just to have a general check up, which we thought was covered. At no point during the visit did they tell him they were going to bill the insurance for having eye issues instead of just the general check up. It very much took us by surprised and while talking with the billing department we found them to be rude and not understanding of the situation. Although the check up went fine, our experience with this billing situation was not. We will not be coming back.

I experienced an injury to my eye, and they adjusted schedule to see me same day. They took the time to ensure that my injury was properly diagnosed and I was provided with the care one would hope to receive during a time of uncertainty I would reccomend them to family or friends when it matters be sure to get the care you need, from highly skilled doctors to friendly staff and cutting edge technology.

I was referred by a friend and I can honestly say I was nervous because I’d been to 2 other optometrists in the area who were either (a) hurried with me and didn’t seem to care and/or be concerned with my concerns or (b) wanted to push me into buying their frames and/or contacts and making a sale. I had my cataracts remove from my left eye in August and my right eye in September. The service and surgery were superb. Dr Duss called me the afternoon of each surgery to check on me. My husband has an eye disease called Keratitis. The Cornea of the eyeball tends to form to a soft point instead of remaining round like most people’s corneas. It’s not always easy to keep contacts on because the cornea has a less than normal shape. We arrived at my husband’s eye appointment, filled out the usual paperwork and went through the typical eye exam that a patient would have. The staff was fun yet very professional. We have been to two locations and the staff did an outstanding job of taking us ‘on time’, making us feel valued and comfortable. We met with Dr. Felver, who took the time to explain options for gas permeable contacts and answer all of our questions without making us feel like we were under time constraints. We were referred to Dr Felver and would recommend him to others without hesitation. He is very thorough and particular regarding the fitting and providing options for the latest technology and best fit. We are looking forward to a long relationship regarding eye care.

Looked up my insurance and made me an appointment for 2 days away!The new patient packet and directions to the office were e-mailed to me immediately. The office staff were amazing and kind and helped me understand the whole evaluation process. Dr Samara was the best! Understanding and answered all of my questions. Wholeheartedly love this office.** as a side note, I had called two other offices and was treated so rudely when asking about my insurance, I felt that if they were this rude on the phone that I did not want to go to their office and have rude treatment in person. I want to thank the staff and Dr Lancaster. My eye had acute pain the night before. I showed up at their office without an appointment, in fact, I was not a current patient. They quickly had me seen and in and out of pain in 30 minutes. Dr. Lancaster is my hero. He explained my situation in great detail. I never felt rushed even though I was a walk in.My follow up visits have also been perfect! I love Dr Duss and his staff. They are friendly and informative. My only concern is twice I called to reschedule appointments and was given another appointment but then received confirmation for the old appointment. When I called to explain I had changed my appointment, there was no record of it being changed. A little frustrating.

DR DUSS is very knowledgeable, practical, down to earth, clear with all his communication, will provide you with a complete easy to understand explanation for every step he will preform. Everyone was very kind, quick, efficient, and thorough!! My husband has been a patient for 2 yrs, so would not go any place else!
