This place would have received a 5 star however the real heavy set bartender was so rude from beginning to the end. I could not have been anymore polite since Im not from the area and was so excited about being in Jacksonville. This place will 100% lose business as long as she treats people like she treated me.

This place robs you!! Someone fraudulently signed a credit card receipt and gave themselves an $80 tip on $153 Bill. On top of which I didnt even order $153 worth of drinks because if I would have they would have had to carry me out... Patrons beware!!!!

My fav bar in the area!!!!! Drinks are inexpensive and its definitely a family! You can smoke inside, which is a plus. Theres pool tables, darts, and a jukebox. Theres plenty of TVs for variety. I love the bartenders and the guests!! Ill always be coming back and Ill recommend anyone to as well! As long as you dont mind the smoke.

This was the worst liquor store Ive ever been in who are you to tell my wife that she cant be on video call in the store when were trying to pick out a bottle of liquor for my father-in-laws birthday this was the first and the last time that I or my wife will ever go there again and I hope the owner never talks to somebody elses wife like there they are a child

Easy laid back atmosphere....karaoke on Fridays. The drinks are reasonably priced. A very casual place so you don’t need to dress to impress. People are normally very nice there. Definitely A little neighborhood bar

The Ox is your neighborhood dive bar that you can easily go and relax after work. Their open until 2am every night and I have never seen anyone get out of hand there. Drink prices are great and being that its connected to a store you and buy a bottle of anything you drink. Even the store side has great prices and really nice people that work there.If your going to dance and meet people, this might not be your place. But if you dont mind random chats with many people and enjoy winding down with drinks and company, this is your place.

Great atmosphere. Good people; can make a lot of friends. Awesome bartender. Its a down home type of place. You walk in and people you dont know make you feel welcome. Couldnt ask for a better place to go, especially when you just moved to a big old city that youre not used to.

Was searching high and low for a high-end bourbon, which The Golden Ox was the only one in town to have on hand. A little pricey, but I get it. The guy at the counter was no nonsense and friendly. He might have been the owner, something about him that makes me want to come back (even though he’s 20min from my house) the selection and service was with it.

I visit the Liquor Store, not the bar. They have a great selection of whiskey and bourbon (what i like to drink occasionally). Prices are very reasonable, usually no wait, drive up available, friendly, helpful service.

I won’t be returning... there was no one in there at the time I was at the counter and the bald Indian guy was rude and nasty when I went to ask a question, he blew me off and gave me a total before I was even done. I live right down the street and come in a couple times a week. This is the first time I encountered this guy waiting on customers, although I have seen him. The other guys are friendly enough but I don’t need to be treated poorly as a paying customer, I will now go elsewhere.

My go-to place when I need to buy some hard stuff. Quick in-and-out shopping experience. Kinda small inside the liquor store part, but I always find what I need. They do have the el cheapo to the premium brands of liquor. Prices are reasonable. It does have a drive through, which I see people utilize a lot lol.

Bartenders give priority if you have drugs they want. Otherwise youll get ignored for 30 mins just for a beer. Bring drugs or expect horrible service.

Good place, but these folks need to stop telling me they cant sell me alcohol while my 16 year old brother is in the car with me at the drive thru. I hit the Ox as i do my grocery shopping, not to serve minors alcohol. Still, like the drive thru. Makes buying liquor and wine convenient.

Prices here are jacked up for several older bottles of scotch, as well as hard to find bourbon. Clerk would not take a credit card for a large $1800 purchase. So Im supposed to carry around that much cash? Clerk would not honor a clearly posted price (actually a good price) on a bottle pictured in the google maps photos after I drove 125 miles from Valdosta. Shady dealings, and high prices, stay away.

Drinks were okay. Some bartenders couldnt be bothered. Watched guest waiting while tender was talking to her friend.

Pulled up at 145am. They close At 2. The cashier just sat there and flirted with some girl for the 15 mins that me and 2 others were standing in line. 2 am comes around , she finally leaves and thats when he turns to the rest in line and says sorry, its 2 I cant serve you. All of us would have had plenty of time to make our purchases id not fpr your creaky old man cashier trying to flirt. Btw she seemed pretty uncomfortable with it as well. Never will I waste my time gas or energy on this store.

This is the 2nd time, in the drive through, that weve caught them overcharging us. Watch what they give you. They overcharged us $21...$71 for a 5th of Crown, a sleeve of shots and a 2 liter...no! Always know the price you expect. Once fool me, twice...not happening. Not real happy, I work way to hard for my money.

If youre just trying to purchase some liquor, this place isnt too bad. The only complaint I have is the fact that the portion of Golden Ox that is actually used for storing/ purchasing the liquor is a little congested. It was a little hard for me to find for what I was I looking for, but I guess its because half of Golden Ox is an actual pub so Ill give that to them. The prices were not really that great either, but thats a perfect tradeoff for the time that they closed.

Yells at customer in front of me for wanting to use some change [quarters to be exact]...... that was very rude.... I left and didnt buy my alcohol ......

The owner of this place has multiple stores in the area and he gouges on bourbon that he thinks is super rare. He is charging 199.99 for angles envy rye and 4 times msrp on others. Owners like this should lose their license.
