Able to find items after going throughout the store!! No one was on the floor to give info. Having a Spinal problem which caused pain,there were no shopping carts to be used!!! Thank goodness I wasnt alone!! My friends helped me.

Only a few store lights were working,so it was very dark . The layout of the store was a mess. I was yelled at by the manager for taking the cart outside of the store to my car. Manager was also on the phone ,he said he would help me carry out my bags then turned and continued to talk on his cell phone. I wont go back to that location.

An alternative human being that doesnt respect somebody with a degree and not even a masters degree and he will use you and he thinks hes better than you with a GED or a high school diploma thank God I dont never let a degree get to my head

Honestly, this is the worst FD Ive visited in Jacksonville. The employees are nice, but the store does not have much of anything. The store looks dim and grimmy. The selection of decorative items is good, but other items for practical everyday use were just not in abundance like the other locations in Jacksonville Ive visited.

This store and its manager was very disrespectful of me while I was having a conversation with my soon to be ex wife, which had nothing to do with the manager, also had another associate put a box cutter in my face, all the while I had groceries in my arms. I need action on this matter and I will not rest until I get it. I hope they dont destroy the video on this matter. I will never step foot in that store again.

I give the store a 3 stars out of 5 stars. The employees i work with there are really good-hearted people whom i actually consider family. The manager tries her hardest to keep us all a team and she works from sun-up to sun-down, missing her needed rest and family time to make our store great. Shes a no nonsense woman but i have seen her great compassion for us and the customers. She and my co-workers are the reason i dont want another jib- i love each and every one of their unique selves. Not brown-nosing because i dont want anything other than the task i already do. Working downtown is challenging and you got to conform to your environment in order to relate to the community. I think we each bring a goodness to the area as long as we strive to display our professionalism to our customers and to each other...we might even be number1 in our district! God protect and bless our little family at 233 E State street.

The manager is racist and his employee name denida assaulted me and they force me out the store they don’t do their job the general manager name daryle ignores my call and giving up my bag in the store is not policy is what the corporate told me and if it happen again to call them back so the store fires back by calling the police to ban me for the store. The general manager name daryle is behind this

This state street store has always been the assignment for the most arrogant, rude, no customer service training females in the company. From day 1 Ive only experienced 1 pleasant associate and they got rid of her. Clean mostly organized shelves to be fair.

If I could rate this place a 0 I would. Where do I start?! The customer service is terrible, prices are always wrong and the isles are messy. Every time I go, I have to deal with paying extra for an item. Plus some of the smart coupons dont work. When I told the cashier about it, she said oh well, nothing we can do. Not the only time she did this and she say shes a manager. I mean, where is the good customer service?? This store really needs an upgrade on all ends!!!

Place to go for candy at best prices. Lots of stuff at good price if you shop around - bottled water, coffee pods, even some name brand make-up, lotions, etc.

Just got checked out by no one.....meaning when the women who was the cashier just walked away to tend to some other business some other employee was doing instead of staying put at the register to make sure I was straight and all other customers didnt have to wait. To me it was poor customer service. There was no thank you have a nice day or nothing. I feel if you dont like what you do dont do it find another job. Family dollars here are always slow and most of the people that work there are rude.

I dont know what it is, but it seems like all Family Dollar stores are all the same. Aisles full of carts with boxed products! Too much stuff! Isnt this a liability? A fire hazard? They do not open at 7 am like it says. I went by there and they be was locked.

Love this place, always friendly, clean and most of the food items I buy are less expensive then a fast food place. It is right downtown too, so easy to walk to or ride a bike and grab those last minute dinners or ice cream.

Barbara was our cashier. She was the nicest and patient cashier I have ever experienced in my life. Great job!

Terrible customer service! There was a female clerk working on a delivery near the front register who said she would be right there. After waiting around 10 minutes with 3 other people in line another woman came up from the back to check us out. She seemed frustrated that the other clerk didnt take care of us as well. Avoid this place if you need service or are in a rush to get to work.

Dont have any shopping carts, close whenever they want when hours are clearly posted and never answer the phone and when they do they hang up on you. Wish I could put a 0 star

Because this store is verymuch needed in the community that its in, I take no pleasure in sayingI that it is operated terribly. Terrible customer service, unprofessional and non curious staff, very disheveled and unclean look. Which is a sign, in my opinion, of an unqualified and or untrained store manager. Owes the community much better.

Its a very busy location so there are usually a lot of customers. The employees are nice, but most of the time, there is 1 employee on a register and 3-4 people restocking. Expect to stand in line for 10 minutes.

Twice in the last 30 days I have been double charged for items at this store. I have been getting the run around in getting this resolved. When my family and I returned yesterday to follow up, along with our 4 year old son, we were threatened by the manager Tasha. She told us we better be nice if we want help but said she cant help us (again) because shes busy. We asked when we could come back and she yelled at us that now you arent getting any help you should have been nice and continued to say you need to get out now or I will call the police and have you banned from the store. As we were leaving, she shouted YOU GOT THE WRONG ONE TODAY. It was humiliating, terrifying, threatening, and aggressive, in addition to being completely unprofessional. I called the corporate office this morning and was told by Nicole, reference number #6349354, that Tasha probably reacted this way because we have asked about getting refunded too many times. She also said that corporate has to process the refund and send it to the store, which is not anything Tasha mentioned. We received no apology and was told the request was sent to the store and to go see Tasha again tomorrow morning (probably our 8th attempt at getting this resolved). At this point, we do not feel safe going to this store after being threatened yesterday. The lack of concern is extremely overwhelming and disappointing, considering we live in the neighborhood and have been coming to this store with no issues since 2011.Please people, check your receipts. You may be getting double charged as well and with the manager not having any sense of urgency, our thoughts is that the employees here are probably intentionally doing this and skimming from the top.Way to be a family place, family dollar! Threatening your customers is a great way to lose business.We have also filed a complaint with the BBB to open an investigation on the practices of this store. We have all receipts, dates times and people we spoke with and will be cooperating while this is investigated further.

I visited location on January 12th around about 9 to 10 am I think and the manager at this location she was very helpful she went above and beyond to help me find what I needed and both manager and cashier had great customer service

Wont ever go there again. Went with my wife to return something she bought the night before. Cashier asked for her phone number she stated her area code which is out of state and the cashier started to get snippy. So when things werent going the cashiers way she called the manager. Went to return some baby wipes that had mysteriously appeared in my bag and I was charged for on a previous visit. Was told that without a receipt they could not return it. Which is opposite what the Family Dollar website says is store policy.

Theyre okay. The store is waaaaay too small for all the merchandise they got. Its always over crowded, especially during the holidays and you almost have to climb on top of each other and the extra products they have just to get around. I really wish the OWNER would renovate and make the store bigger. Or something cause its so small for everything they have. Also the employees are ok. I hardly ever have a problem with them. One thing that really bothered me though was that one time I returned shoes. The Just Be pair for $5 or $6.00 and I shouldve known you get what you pay for. In One day those shoes took a huge toll on my feet. I paid $6.00 for a huge blister on the back of my foot and was in a lot of pain. The employee and the manager looked at me like, Are you serious? When I asked for a refund. I was wearing sandals or flip flops when I came in so i tried to show the blister (which looked more like a big gash at the time) to the employees to prove I wasnt lying. And she tells me, No I dont want to see that. And looks away. I mean, I know its gross and all but dont act like a person is lying just because you dont want to lose a few bucks .Then they complain because the bottom of the shoes were dirty. And there were a few hairs and how unsanitary it was and blah blah. But I just told them that I walked OVER the BRIDGE in them. And thats how I got the blister because its kind of a long walk. And the inside heel part of the shoes were a bit abrasive feeling. It took a while but they finally. Grudgingly. Gave me my money back.Idk lol it just really annoyed me that they acted like that. But at least now they sell better shoes with the cushions inside.

I am used to good customer service from Publix and Chick fil A so I expect that. I went into Family Dollar to pick my sister up who works there. I wanted to buy a glade air freshener so I picked it up and sprayed a little mist because it was a new kind for me. Immediately the security lady said I need to stop because they lose money on people doing that! That was super ghetto and Publix NEVER does that! They had a glass window busted recently so I dont feel safe there because security is worried about me spraying an air freshener but they got people busting in their window!! Seriously???? Not a good look. I only set foot in there to pick up my sister and they will not see any of my money as I was offended!
