So far so good! Ive had 2 cars worked on by Tuffy Auto service and have been very satisfied. The staff is courteous. Auto technicians are detailed in explaining repairs. Top notch service.

I’m not one to leave reviews that often, however, I had a wonderful experience here today. After my car had a “stroke” and decided to make weird noises and flash weird lights I took it to advance auto parts to see if they would look at it. After speaking with a very rude man there, I called Tuffy across the road and spoke with Josh who was more than happy to help me. Although my car ended up being okay I will absolutely be back in the future for oil changes, regular maintenance and anything else my car may need. Josh you were awesome ❤️

I actually had a great experience!Since I have had my car, I have always taken it to the dealership for any repairs whether major or minor, but recently I was unable to get an immediate appointment. And my car was making a very concerning noise, so I felt like it couldnt wait. So I decided to make an appointment with this establishment, and was able to be seen the same day. When I arrived, they were very helpful, and explained exactly what was wrong. What I liked the most was that they really listened to my concerns, and although I am a female, I felt like my concerns were actually heard. Anyways, they helped me right away, explained what was wrong, and even fixed my car within about an hour or two. I definitely will be going to them again soon! Thank you all soo much!

I’ve been taking my Xterra to Tuffy for several years now and, while I travel a lot, I do everything I can to make sure my vehicle is taken care of at this business. I have never had a negative experience with any tier of staff that I have communicated with. They will do everything they can to get you back on the road if you have an emergency—I’ve waited on my car and seen several walk-ins taken care of as quickly as they could. However, these are rare cases and you should make an appointment for regular maintenance. They maintain communication with you so you’re not wondering what’s going on and how long you’ll be without your car. The staff, in it’s entirety, has always been so kind and helpful and they even follow up with you a day or two later to make sure you’re satisfied. I highly recommend this business for your vehicle.

Mark and Jeff were great! They kept me up to date from the beginning to the end. They also sent me photos of my car while it was being worked on or if something they thought I needed to repair. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and family.

Told to drop off Wednesday afternoon so they can look at it first thing Thursday morning. Did not receive a call until right before end of business day Friday to tell me they couldnt do my broken brake line for safetyness reasons. I waited 2 full days for a quote to hear they didnt want to be bothered by a rusty brake line job. Then they told me I needed all new brake lines. But they didnt know I personally changed the front brake lines less than a year ago. I was told they would have to lower gas tank and the whole engine and transmission to change my rear brake line. Take your vehicle somewhere else.

I was referred by a friend of mine to Tuffy after I was over dealing with my old auto shop. He had said he had takes his truck for service there and has always had great customer service and that I should give them a try. I was more than pleased with the way the folks at Tuffy took care of me. Josh and the manager Mark were more than helpful. I knew going in I was going to have some extensive work done and they handled it all from the time I walked in the door till it was time to pick my vehicle up. The one major thing that sticks out about my experience with Tuffy was their Customer Service! That has somehow become a lost art but, the people at Tuffy still know what that means. As a result my old auto shop just lost a customer and Tuffy has a new one. That’s again Josh and Mark for making my first experience at Tuffy a positive one. I cannot say enough good things about Tuffy in general and this location in particular. I normally go to a different location but now live closer to the Beach Boulevard center. The staff was tremendously helpful to me and every single customer I saw that day. Honest car repair shops are exceedingly rare. Tuffy is that honest rarity. I completely endorse them.

Saw many of my familys vehicles go into this shop and at first they seemed to provide a good service. Each of their vehicles went in for extensive work. Then the shop stopped communication with us. Its been weeks since my family brought their car back to Tuffy. Their customer service just isnt there. Not to mention their ability to actually keep a vehicle running.

These guys are amazing..I went in for air in my tire..and we found a nail....they took me right in...definitely had to wait a bit...but, was so thankful they even took me...they are busy with appointments. 20.00 later..I was on my way to our vacation. I cant thank you guys enough, for great service

Least honest place in jax. Your car will be there for a week at least no matter the repair. Their labor cost is double what it is at other places. After taking my numerous vehicles here for years at this point I give them the benefit of the doubt every time and they don’t deliver. They will find something “wrong” other than the problem you take it in for then say they can’t fix it unless they fix it all. Their mechanics only care about commission rather than honest work and looking through a system thoroughly. Will never take my cars here again after a 990$ repair went up to $2200. Had another shop quote me 1200 for the same repair went to tuffy because thought I’d be spending a few hundred less… ended up spending a thousand more. They do good repairs and nothing falls out however only thing I’d trust them with is filling my tires with air and even then they’d probably replace all 4 tires because one of them has a piece of rubber missing and charge you 3 grand

I use to be a hands down Tuffy patron however this last experience have left me wonder who else they have frauded or tried to fraud. I took my husband’s truck to Tuffy because the check engine light came on. Normally his truck is serviced by the dealership however they did not have a early appointment. Called Tuffy’s and I was able to bring it the next day. Drop his truck off and I received a call later that day that his truck was running hot, was shaking upon start and had misfired. I was completely in shock because the truck never ran hot before and drove there perfectly from Whitehouse(where I live). I questioned their findings and they told me they would do more testing. I got a call the next day that his water pump had gone, he failed the combustion test, needed a new CO2 sensor, and he blew a gasket. That it would be over $800 for the fuel pump and they price engine replacement for $8600 for an engine with 50k miles. They even had a video to show leaked fluids. I could not believe my ears. I had just got his truck serviced not more than 2 months before. The leaked fluid was the reason the dealership did the repairs. However the truck never ran hot or showed any issues. I was so worried but skeptical so I had his truck towed to an engine repair shop. They didn’t find anything wrong with the gasket or fuel pump. It passed the combustion test. I only needed a new O2 sensor. Had I listened to Tuffy’s I would have been out of over $10k. They tried to ripe me off. To top it off the guy (Matt or Mark) asked my husband what he was going to do with the truck. Like he wanted to buy it. Don’t go to Tuffy’s you can’t trust them.

This is the best automotive shop I have ever dealt with, hands down. I could not have asked for a better experience. These guys are fast, professional and above all else, honest. A trifecta that is near impossible to find in this industry.My vehicles AC hasnt worked for several years. It was broken by the Honda dealership during a routine oil change and recall fix. They claimed it was just a coincidence, but it worked when the car was dropped off, and no longer worked when picked up. Anyways, I digress.Prepared for the worst and expecting to pay several thousand dollars, I put this problem off for far too long. Dreading another Florida summer without AC though, I finally made the call and arranged a free 15 minute check with the Tuffy guys. Didnt even need an appointment, they just told me to go ahead and come in.After checking the usual suspects, they recommended I leave it overnight, where I signed off on two AC services totaling about $350. Just two hours later I got a text that it was ready for pickup. Could it be I actually had air conditioning again?Upon arrival, I was informed my bill was LESS than half of what they had quoted. Thats right, they actually reduced the cost by $200 as they figured out those services werent needed. Turns out, the morons at the Honda dealership had severed a ground wire (my words, not theirs). They just ran a new wire to my blower fan and the problem was fixed.Im beyond thankful for these guys. An absolutely top notch shop.

I cant say enough great things about Tuffy Automotive Service! We recently had both of our cars in there. Noah was so helpful and courteous. He gave us a loaner car to use while ours were being repaired. He kept updating us on the repairs. We had to keep our cars there for several days while they were diagnosing and repairing. They are very helpful, reasonably priced and thorough with their service. We feel when we leave our cars there the service will be done right. Tuffy is the only place well take our cars from now on. I had my oil changed at another auto body shop. the other shop reccomend that I get a brake fluid flush due to my brake fluid being dirty. The flush was 130$ I opted out because I didnt believe that the car needed a brake fluid flush at 19000 miles.So this led me to tuffy tire and auto service to have my brake fluid flushed. They quoted me 99 dollars including tax. I agree the technician pulled my car around to do the flush. Shortly after pulling my car around the technician and the manager said my brake fluid looks amazing and I dont need a flush at all and sent me about my day without charging me. The honesty found at the auto shop is bar none. I was super happy that they we honest and didnt just take my money like the first shop I went to was trying to do.

Took my car to a local Ford dealership because the AC was not blowing cold. Was told it needed a new compressor. I didnt feel this was the correct diagnosis. Brought it to Tuffy. Dave and his team replaced a few O-rings and seals, which corrected the AC problem. The guys at Tuffys stayed late in order to repair my car the same day. In addition, drove me home in the morning and picked me up in the afternoon, after they had closed. I will be using these guys from now on. Thank you Dave and all of the team at Tuffy Auto Repair.

Took my vehicle to tuffys to fix my AC.they diagnosed and gave me an estimate and schedule time for me to bring the car back since the parts had to be ordered they also gave me a price. It was high but I needed my AC fixed. Dropped vehicle off for work to be done .they called me to say they found another problem when they took the dashboard off ya this was a very big job. And it would cost more than was agreed on.needless to say I was not happy. Josh the services advisor explained that the part would still work but not for long and he did not feel right to put that defective part back in for it to break in a few days and appear as if they did not do a good job. I did not want to hear it .He then asked the Manager Dave to try and better explain the situation. These gentlemen were determined to have my vehicle fixed right in order to protect the integrity and good name of their business. They worked with me my Entire AC systems was fixed. Needless to say I am very happy the Jaguar is cool .thanks to Josh and Dave. Taffy’s is capable of fixing any thing it will cost but they are going to do it right . I highly recommend them.

I traveled to Jax, FL to visit family and arrived Friday evening when I started to have engine troubles. I called Tuffy’s (beach blvd location) first thing Saturday morning, explained my situation and how I needed my car fixed in order to return home on Sunday. I dropped my car off, received a phone call advising me of the problem and my car was fixed within hours. I am so grateful to Tuffys for their awesome work and excellent customer service (Noah who took the call and my information at the office as well as Dave who followed up the next day, to see how the car was running). Tuffy treated my friend right with her car, so I knew where I wanted to go when my brakes started acting up. After some sketchy stopping situations at low speeds, I thought it was simply brake pads that had run out. Tuffy mechanics thoroughly inspected my vehicle and worked through diagnostics until they diagnosed the problems. Unfortunately it was my entire brake module, which was extraordinarily expensive. They helped explain pricing, and worked with me to sort out my services. They were always willing and able to explain exactly what the issue or state of the project was. They provided a local pickup, and finished my car quicker than expected. I really was driving without my front brakes before! The car is much safer now, and I know where Ill go for future issues.

I brought my car for a check breaks light. They fixed what I thought was the problem. A loose sensor. This was covered under warranty so they are pretty honest.

Had service done on a RR Sport to save on high dealer costs. They compiled parts from the dealer, installed, and repaired for a lower price. Also was able to use a military discount. Worked directly with the owner and Lead Mechanic. Went back and forth a little, but they were able to get it done in about 4 days. Pretty good service. Be back shortly to get some more things done. Came in two weeks ago to get four new tires. Got a great price and they even gave me a ride home while I waited. Got a nail in the tire yesterday- they just took care of it all under warranty today- no hassles. And another car ride and pickup while I’m waiting.They are always busy when I’m here and I see why. To date, I have no complaints and only compliments. I feel comfortable bringing my car here. I feel I can trust them to do good work and take care of me. Keep up the good work guys!

The staff was professional and courtesy. The oil change was a good price. Most importantly they did a free brake inspection and they were honest with me and told me the brakes were in good shape instead of trying to make money off me for something I didn’t need like other places would’ve done. I’ll be going back for sure that honesty and reputation is huge in the car repair/maintenance business.

We have used Tuffys many times in the last 3 years. We owned a old 98 Chrysler Town and Country, and they were able to keep it running, far longer than it should have been able to stay on the road. They were quick with their diagnostics, honest in their pricing, and courteous every time we came into the shop, which started to get fairly frequent towards the end. They worked on engine repairs, belt replacement, suspension replacements, engine leaks, A/C problems, electrical issues, fuel pumps, etc. They explained everything, and fixed only what was broken, and didnt try and add other problems that werent the issue. Their shop is clean and the staff are professional. They even have a Lego Table for the kids! They honored their warranty on prior repairs without question, had loaner cars available, and even dropped the van off at our house on multiple occasions when I was not able to come get it. We finally decided that the number of needed repairs was unsustainable to keep the old van running, but we will continue to come to them for service on our other cars. I recommend them to anybody who needs repairs or service on their cars. Im a little sad I wont be able to see Dave and his team as much any more. ;)

Oil change took almost 2 hours. It was 1 hour and 45 minutes. I scheduled an appointment 5 days in advance and arrived on time.All the employees were super polite and they did fully diagnose my car. It was also a good price $33 for full synthetic.

I cannot say enough good about this place. I entered on a Thursday afternoon, frantic, because I had a flat tire and needed to do multiple pick ups for my children. Mark and his team had me out in 10 minutes with a loaner car so I did not leave my family stranded. They were kind, courteous, and professional. They also got a customer for life!

Miserable experience. A simple rear brake job supposed to take an hour with preset appointment. 4 hours later I am still here. Poor proactive communication. I will not use Tuffy again.

Superb first experience. They actually topped off our liquids, changed the oil timer in the car, put my seat back!, and the dated sticker they put in the car is printed! Instead of written so it shouldn’t fade. Good first experience at least. The staff was welcoming, friendly and they even called when it was done and had the car pulled around. And it only took 30 mins. Oh and the price was HALF of everyone else for a synthetic oil change. So bonus :)

Service guys are professionals. Tuffy has the best value! I checked 3 other auto centers before I picked Tuffy. They don’t overcharge your & explain everything. As they get busier, I hope that they will not compromise their customer service & good values & pricing .

They never take advantage and always do their absolute best to help you . Sometimes they even means just them giving you advice . They even went as so far as to call the place I went to for an oil change to tell them how bad a job they did on it . I thought that was amazing . I give them 2 stars because they did diagnose my vehicle properly. However, $500+ dollars to replace a wiper arm linkage?! On a 14 yr old car! Long story short, i paid $70 for the part direct from GM and switched myself in 30 minutes, they tried to tell me its a 3-4 hour job!. I dunno why, maybe big corporate pressure but, theyre inflating the hours of service!

We bring both of our cars to Tuffys and are very happy with their work. We even got free towing because we are regular customers! Highly recommend

I came to Tuffy’s twice since I moved back to Jacksonville both time truly satisfied with the service and customer service . Dave the owner or supervisor always sends a text message to check up on you a few days later after your car been worked on at their shop . That’s what I’m talking about he goes over and beyond for customers wonderful customer service when many don’t see coming from business .

First of all, the staff were friendly and professional. However, it took three hours after identifying that two cylinder coils needed replacing (which took two hours) to bring up that the coils were no longer in production and needed a new kind, and and another four hours after that to actually finish it and change spark plugs. While the staff were polite, it does not justify nine hours spent to replace two cylinder coils, spark plugs and fuel treatment. Nor was I communicated with as to even a rough estimate on long any of this was going to take at any time throughout the nine hours I was sat in the lobby.

The quality of the work was fine, and was timely, but price was an issue. Charged me $800 for brakes and rotor replacement, which is absurd. Will likely go somewhere else in the future, but overall appreciated the friendly demeanor of the staff.

I have been to this Tuffys location twice and both times I went there for something different; be it my oil change or my check engine light. Both experiences were great. My oil change was like so fast and I got synthetic blend and it was so inexpensive I was shocked. On a separate occasion I went to get my check engine light serviced and they completed a inspection and sent me home with an easy explanation as to what was going on and what to look for. I will keep going to this location 10000% I love the staff and the service was A+

I have been using Tuffy for all my car needs for over the past year and every time I leave, I know my vehicle is safe to be on the road. They take the time to answer all my questions and help me understand my vehicle better. After a repair they always find time to reach out to me to make sure I am satisfied with the repairs and if I had any concerns. That in itself is customer service I rarely find in a mechanic. We’d been having trouble with our Jeep for a few months when finally the engine light came on. We previously took it to the dealership but felt like we got taken for a ride- and the dealership didn’t even fix the issue! I told my husband we should take the Jeep to Tuffys and I am so glad we did. Dave squeezed us in for a same-day appointment and had the diagnosis and repairs done by closing! The cost was very reasonable and the issue appears to be completely fixed! We especially appreciated the follow up we got to ensure our issue was completely corrected. I had an engine swap performed at Tuffy for my 1999 Chevy Suburban. The tired old engine removed and a new 383 stroker crate engine installed. If you are contemplating an engine swap, this is the place to make it happen. The installation was flawless. The team at Tuffy is knowledgeable and experienced. The break in went smoothly and any concerns taken care of. I would like to express my thanks to the Owner Dave and his Master Mechanic Jeff for making the swap as smooth and quick as possible. I went in for an oil change and they did a fine job changing my oil and getting it done in a reasonable timeframe even with all the COVID crisis going on.I went here because the normal place I take my car to to get the oil changed was closed and I had a coupon for Tuffy. So I took a chance and explained that is all I wanted.I still don’t think they warrant over 3*s. It seems there are all new people again and they still didn’t seem to listen. They seam to be trained to go by the book and list all these things the book says to do based on car mileage that could potentially cost 1000’s of dollars.I just want an honest mechanic.Thank you

This place looks like a fancy restaurant more than it does like an auto repair shop. My wife and I stumbled across this when we were out looking for places to eat. I was in the mood for some good Italian but she wanted Chinese. Needless to say, neither of us got what we wanted. Our BMW, however, did get its annual checkup and an oil service.Dave and his team are special people. The management here truly cares about the sort of operation they run. I have had the privilege of getting to know that in person. I normally wouldn’t ever take my European cars to a Tuffy but after giving this place a shot, I am reconsidering.It’s a bummer they don’t serve pasta. Other than that, this place pays a great compliment to the “Tuffy” franchise — thanks to Dave. Keep up the good work!

Brought in my 2003 Honda Pilot, 389,000 miles for a wheel alignment after getting my tires rotated and balance at Discount tire after they noticed some excess wear.Staff was very professional and pointed out that the front ball joints were bad and needed to be replaced.Even through I did not have the work done at that time, wanted to consider my options, I would recommend them for your automotive needs. They were quoting after market parts (aka used parts). And they didn’t have the guarantee Tuffys had. Master mechanics, loan and a loaner car. It was well worth all of it. Done quickly and trust. OMG! these guys were Awesome. Was here from out and of town and needed a quick part replacement. They took me in and did a great job and I was headed back to Mayo Clinic in less than an hour.GREAT PEOPLE.

Service was fast and cost efficient! I got a synthetic oil change and alignment for appx. $120. And if youre hungry, you can just walk next door and get a bite to eat at Freddys (I think its right next to it).

Made an appointment for an oil change and came in about 30 minutes early took about 36 minutes and I was on my way home. Very clean, professional, and nice staff.

Both Steve and the owner, Dave, were extremely helpful and friendly. They made the process of professionally installing new tires on my Dodge Charger easy and affordable. Additionally, the atmosphere of the shop is relaxed yet professional and the building itself is quite clean. I will definitely come back for future car needs and would recommend them to anyone.

Great place to get an honest opinion and solid price. Also they’ll go out of their way for you if need be. I needed my truck back unexpectedly on a Sunday , they’re closed on Sunday, and the manager Jeremy came and picked me up at my house, drove me to the shop, and opened the shop at 9pm so I could have a vehicle Mk day morning as needed. Highly recommend

Staff was so nice and helpful. Had pretty much the entire front end suspension redone on my f150 and was charged a little more than what a competitor wanted for one control arm. I will definitely be returning for any future work and highly recommend to everyone

What an incredible company this is! Jeremy has taken such great care of us over the last year! We were Tuffy fans before but much bigger fans after the new management/ ownership! They have given us the best deal and then the most top notch, high-quality job we could’ve ever asked for. Their customer service blows everyone else’s out of the water and you will only benefit from having Tuffy service your car!

Got an oil change and service was good. However, they then gave me pages of recommended services totaling over a thousand dollars that I know are not actually needed (I also verified one of them with another auto shop). Makes it seem like just another auto shop that tries to get you to pay for unnecessary services.
