I got my transmission swapped here for my Audi s4, about 2 years ago, still holding up just fine, although they did not have the ability to code the transmission to the car, and I was only given the option to get it coded at the dealership, but the dealer said they did a good job car looked okay.

I couldn’t be happier with these guys! Super nice, super informative, didn’t talk down to me because I’m a woman (happens a lot) - would 10/10 recommended these guys! Also super affordable which is a huge plus! I can say these guys are not out to just get your money - they care about their customers and their cars.

Brought in a mk6 GLI with AC problems. They fixed my issues and had my AC blowing cold and quiet while explaining everything and answered all the questions I had in detail. They were very honest with the potential cost throughout. Highly satisfied with the entire process.Do yourself a favor and take your VW / Audi product to people who actually understand these cars. It will save you time and money while getting the best job possible. I even called a few weeks later and they answered some questions over the phone and sent me in the right direction for fixing a minor turbo leak my GLI had. When things go wrong on my VW and I cant fix it myself V-Dub Folks will be the professionals I take it to.

Great place. I have taken my Audi A6 there for years. Much better prices then the dealer. They do the work and get you back into your car quickly too. By the way, I did buy my car new, but with their help it is 9 years old with 300,000 miles on it. I love these people!!!

Just the best! My niece had been having major problems with her Jetta and 1000s later with no fix or even definite cause from dealer V-Dub fixed the issue and proactive service for 100s so when I had warning lights with my Touareg (after a regular maintenance by dealership no less), I promptly took my car to Ben. The mechanic fixed and I was out in less than 30 minutes. I can only imagine how much $$$ and how long it would have been at the dealer. No one else will ever service my car.

I wish I would’ve found this place sooner!! I have been looking for a place that works on Volkswagens and doesn’t rip you off like the dealerships. Ben was so awesome and super honest on what my car really needed to be done! I went in thinking I would need multiple things repaired (according to dealership) and they didn’t take advantage of that. Mike from V-Dub Folks is a lifesaver. Our car battery suddenly died on us while we were out. We found no success getting a jump from others and had been waiting hours for a tow. Then suddenly, like a gift from above, Mike pulled up next to us and asked if we needed help. He had special equipment with him and seemed to know our car inside and out. After trying several methods, during which he kept us calm and informed, he was miraculously able to get our car to start. Mike is incredibly knowledgable and truly one of the friendliest people you will ever meet.

I highly recommend this place to anyone that owns an Audi or Volkswagen. After calling around to several shops I found them to have the best pricing. I took a car to them last year to have them reseal the camshaft girdle cover. In the process of them repairing that they noticed another issue that could have been a very costly repair but were able to catch it and take care of the problem. Ben is always honest, straightforward, and very informative. I am now a return customer and will only use them for any service needs. They did excellent work. Brought my car in for carbon deposit cleaning. Once they starting into the car they found that the water pump was leaking. I asked them to take pictures of the carbon deposit cleaning. I am more than pleased with their work. Im amazed they did all this in one day! And the price was more than half the price a dealership quoted me.

So Ive been promising my car she was going to get an upgrade. I took her to the dealership to have an oil change and they offered a free all points inspection. I obliged as to not pay the diagnostic fee. Sure enough a LONG list of repairs. I thanked them kindly and exited the premises. Fast forward to today!!! My girl got the upgrade that Ive been promising her. A 1/4 of the cost. A BAZILLION PERCENT better customer service and mechanic service that my car has got since warranty expiration. I am a new mother of a 7-month-old, so believe me when I say I do not have time to be writing reviews. This alone should tell you how much I LOVE the guys at V-Dub Folks. After a harrowing experience at the dealer (who keeps a mother and baby waiting an extra 45 minutes just to pull the car around??) - we headed over to V-Dub Folks where we were treated as welcome and independent-thinking customers. They replaced my rear wheel bearing while I waited (with no prior appointment) for UNDER HALF the cost of the dealer ($241.50 instead of $576.95) and recommended only necessary future maintenance with a timeline noting the time/mileage before those suggestions would become more urgent. (So helpful in lining up my finances and making the most of still usable parts.) To top it off, on my way out the door David (my hero) noticed that my keyless entry was not working. When I told him it had not worked in over 5 years (ever since the the dealer told me my keys needed reprogramming to the tune of $90) he asked if he could try putting in a new battery. He did, it worked, and my life is forever changed! Not only can I unlock my car with my hands full of baby, but I have finally found a repair shop I can trust. During our March road trip to Dallas from Colorado Springs, we ran into some car troubles on our 06 Passat. Given our limited time in Dallas and the fact that it was a Friday, these guys not only made our car a priority, but it was a 1/3 of the cost we originally estimated on the repair. Because they were fast, extremely friendly, and affordable, we were able to enjoy the rest of our trip and make it back home safely. We wish we lived in Dallas or had a V Dubs here in Colorado Springs. Theyre absolutely wonderful to work with!!

I made the mistake of going to the Lord of the Rings shop, were I was told my 2010 VW CC was not worth fixing and they quoted me $2000 to replace gear shift assembly, and they told me most likely my car would still not be running right. So I was out a diagnostic fee and tow truck charge at this point. So I decided to get second opinion and called VDub Folks, they told me to bring it in and that they saw no reason to scrap my car. So I paid a 2nd tow truck to tow my car to the shop. Nathan at VDub Folks actually went through the trouble of thoroughly diagnosing my car and did need to be replaced but nothing else was going on other than the gear shift assembly and a leaky radiator. He quoted me $1300 to replace the gear shift assembly and $600 to replace radiator, all under what I was quoted for at Lord of the rings shop. So now I have my VW CC running great thanks to Nathan. I am extremely happy with their service and would recommend Vdub Folks to any VW owners.

Rather, they seem to be about getting to the bottom of the problem as clearly and concisely as possible while taking the customers needs into thoughtful consideration.Over the phone, both Ben and John were very calm, clear and easy to talk to about the problem with my car. The same was the case in person, when I dropped it off.TLDR version: They diagnosed and fixed my car on very short notice, did it quickly, accommodating my needs, and allowing me to keep to a tight travel schedule.The details: Halfway through a 3000 mile road trip with very little leeway for delays, I concluded my 2004 Audi A4 probably had a mechanical problem. Combined with unpleasant experiences caused by other drivers upon my arrival in Dallas, I was getting a bad feeling about the trip. I could feel the stress level rising even more as I realized everything could be completely thrown off schedule by an unexpected visit to a garage.From my over-the-phone description of the problem, John immediately ordered a replacement wheel bearing so that the part would be available when I dropped off the car during the lunch break of a business meeting (instead of forcing me to interrupt a morning portion of the meeting, for which I had traveled so far). He also reassured me that the work would be done by the end of the day.This was a big deal for me because I needed to leave that day for another important event.What I had thought were noisier than expected new tires breaking in, turned out to be a failing wheel bearing that didnt become obvious until I was in Dallas. Rather than risk a breakdown on the way home, I googled Audi dealerships and was surprised to find the very highly rated V-Dub Folks nearby. Taking a chance on the unknowns of a non-dealership, from the first phone conversation, I felt confident it was the right decision. While first impressions certainly count, these guys dont just talk the talk. At least for me (and it also seems for the others posting reviews here), they did the work as promised, and did it on time. As a result, I had a fun, safe, stress-free drive home (I really enjoy long road trips, otherwise I would have flown, but then never would have had the pleasure to meet these guys).I won’t know if their price was competitive until I ask my hometown garage, yet it seemed reasonable to me. Most importantly, it gave me peace of mind and possibly avoided what certainly would have been much more costly (in time and money), had something gone wrong while on the road in the middle of nowhere.John even offered to mediate on my behalf in case the car had problems on the way back, should I be stuck dealing with a small-town mechanic unfamiliar with German cars! (reading another review here, I see theyve done this for others already)Though I am happy with my local independent VW/Audi garage, they sure could take some pointers from V-Dub Folks!Hats off to John and Ben for defusing a potentially very stressful problem and making me a very happy driver as I set off directly from their shop in my fixed car on the homeward leg of my travels.

I had the best experience with these guys on New Years Eve. When everyone else had closed they stayed open and even waited for my tow truck to arrive to bring in my VW. They tried everything that they knew of that might get my car fixed. Even after a few things did not work they kept trying even though I just told them that I would be back after New Years. Right before I left they came in with the great news that my car was working again. They had continued working on the car right up until the last moment. The car has been prefect since then. From there they also took the time to explain to me what the problem was in order to avert a similar issue in the future. In sum, I will definitely come back to these guys for anything that my Volkswagen will need in the future. They were honest, service oriented, and hard-working. A real winner all the way around.

Love, love, love this place and dont know how Im ever going to replace it, now that Ive moved away. Ben, John, and the rest of this crew have kept my wagon going long after I thought it would give up the ghost. They have tolerated multiple requests to find whatever is going to leave me stranded on the highway in nowhere, Wyoming at midnight with no cell service, and they do it honestly. Sometimes, they find nothing. Sometimes, they find a lot, but when they do, the prioritize it and offer me affordable options. I dont live in Texas anymore but I got stuck in Oregon the other day and they still take my call when I need to ask a question to gauge whether or not someone else is screwing me over. Really appreciate the fact that, for the last 6 years, Ive been able to take my car in and know that Im not being lied to or cheated just because Im female. I would pay extra for this, but at V-Dub, I dont have to, which makes me appreciate them all the more.

Was charged $140 for P&L when the dealership wanted almost $200 for the part alone. Awesome resource to have here in DFW and will definitely be back when repairs are necessary.

Terrible mechanics. My passat was idling very rough and they said it needed new plugs and coils . Replaced for 300 dollars and that fixed nothing. Also had both my cv joints/drive axles replaced and less then 2 miles from the shop this horrible, ear splitting grinding sound came from the drive tires/drive train. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the black plague. Go to metro Volkswagen. They dont suck.

How refreshing to find V-Dub Folks!My 2004 Beetle Convertible stopped on me and wouldnt go farther than three feet after I jumped the battery… Poor thing, I had to push her back into my garage. After searching online for an honest mechanic (oxymoron) who could work on a VW and not have to job out any electrical work. Ive learned the hard way that some shops dont even have the tools to work on Volkswagens. I set out to look for a specialist without going to a dealer and be put through their dog-and-pony show that pays an estimator by commission on how much they write in repairs.After hours on the internet and a few phone calls, I settled on V-Dub Folks. I read all 40 of their Google reviews with a 4.9 Star rating. Nobody else could touch them with kudos coming from all but 1 unhappy camper. Numbers like that are hard to find, so I took a chance.Sure enough it was the alternator. I had already figured that one out myself. The price was fair, they gave me in-and-out service in an afternoon and they even had WiFi in their clean and cool waiting area. Ill not be looking to change mechanics ever again… at least as long as I continue to drive a precision German-made automobile.V-Dub Folks, you ROCK!

The guys working here are top - notch.I have an Audi TT, i had some issues with my brakes and one of their Engineers (John) could diagnose over the phone what might have been the problem.The guys are genius... I took my car there and within matter of few minutes he had my car fixed. Anyone having a german make car... you have to visit these folks, they are the best in the DFW Metroplex.The folks know what they are doing and they take the time to explain what and why they are doing so,... unlike the dealers and many other mechanics out there... When i give the car to these folks , i know they wont swindle me , but will give me value for my buck.

I recently bought a used Winnebago Rialta built on a VW Eurovan. There were no service records and the previous owner apparently kept it in storage most of the time. John and the rest of the guys have provided superlative service and complete answers to all my questions at a fraction of the cost of any VW dealership. There is a reason that these guys are a 5 star establishment! (2/18/10)These guys keep proving that they provide first class service. My Rialta recently broke down in the Big Bend Area. I wasnt within 200 miles of an authorized VW service center. I found a willing mechanic but they didnt know anything about VWs. VDUB folks faxed diagrams and place phone calls on my behalf to the mechanic in west Texas. Is that service or what? (5/13/10).
