Amazing Indian grocery store with awesome support staff. It is a place where you get high-quality Indian food products. I feel like buy everything 👍
“PB” is the Best place in Indy for fresh Indian produce. There are other Indian grocery stores but mainly average to substandard produce. It’s kept clean.Frozen food and dessert are pretty fresh. Usually well stocked. Most Desi stores have a common problem of not listing their price and charging at will at the register. But Patel Brothers does not have such a problem. If you are looking for an Indian Grocery, this is the right place to go!
Nice & clean Indian grocery store. Thanks
I really like this India oriented store. Unique produce and many spices. Plenty of rice options and a large frozen food section. Prices are good.
As usual Patel Brothers never disappoints. Good quality products and a very wide selection. Sometimes they even have stuff that is hard to get in India. They should start a delivery service next.
Well stocked and good selection, checkout process always takes a long time.
Love the fresh hot samosas. Have a couple for lunch every time Im in the area.
Discovered this place by happy accident, they have a wonderful selection of products from India including a personal favorite, fresh curry leaves. I tried a couple house samosas and many items from the pickle bar, they were all fantastic, especially the bitter gourd pickle! Amazing.I’ll definitely be back
Nice, clean, lots of vegetables choices and different kind of grains and reasonably price
As a wannabe home chef, I love visiting ethnic markets like this one. Of the Indian markets in the NE Indy area, this one is by far the largest and cleanest. The produce section is well stocked with a variety of ingredients I am ill-equipped to use. The bulk spices make me ashamed to have ever bought a tiny jar of McCormicks -- and that i dont cook enough to use that volume of cumin. Great choices on pickles and other hard-to-find specialty items and fresh- baked Flatbread. Do be mindful of the expiration dates on the Flatbread, though. They go quickly!Pictured is a batch of palak paneer I made with ingredients i bought there.
Indian paradise of food and grocery. I love the Lilva katchori and vada pav. Kindly do not convert the price of each and every thing to Indian currency.
Awesome store, lots of fresh veggies and fruit and wide selection. I love the samosas at the check out line👌🏾
Great selection of FRESH produce.
Selling expired frozen groceries I get chole daal and chicken kabab I been sick I am shopping with them 8 years never have any problems but these 3 to 4 month I get food from there that expired food making me sick my stomach is upset 😡
Good selection of Indian food and groceries. Many unique snacks that cant be found anywhere else. Best place to buy curry spices in bulk. Only problem is that the aisles are too narrow.
Indian grocery shop where you can get indian veggies and masala items almost anything you need for indian style cooking
Not a great place to shop. Prices are too high
Of of the best Indian grocery store
Great place to get Indian grocery, friendly staff
The only Indian store in the area so the clout is pretty evident. Most items are overpriced without reason. Some products are awful and now thanks to the Covid policies theres no way you can bring it back for their attention. Take it or leave it.Dont even get me started on the social distancing policies and habits. Youre better off vaccinated if you dare to tread by here.
Very clean, wide selection. Friendly service
They had the cardamom pods I was looking for at a great price! Lovely place, will be returning for more spices!
Be careful. This place is selling damaged/leaked product. Got this damaged/leaked bag of Ashirvad Aata. More over they are sealing leak with transparent packing tape so that you dont noticed at first place. When I asked store manager why they are doing such practice and she said she is not the right person for such complaint.
Even the customers are helpful in this store. If you need to know how to prepare Indian food, just ask!
Nothing out of the ordinary that warrants the extra travel. High prices. Find your local family owned Indian store.
Its a pretty good Indo-Pak grocer, but I honestly prefer shopping at the 38th street location because it seems like there is a larger selection there and it seems a little more organized and clean.
Only parked nearby, but observed a trucker stopping to pick up something for the road, so that is usually a good sign.
They have everything but the meats. Great choices and varieties...
It a good chain for asian and indian grocery. They have good collection of stuff feels like back in indian grocery stores.
I drove from West Lafayette to Indianapolis and had grocery shopping done from Patel Brothers, vegetables were so much fresh, every grocery item was of very good quality.I highly recommend this store. You get literally everything of your need. And yes, the staffs were friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very nice experience.
The place is good for shopping indian grocery. But I am worried about safety in their parking lot. Today in the full daylight someone hit my car. I requested the video of the parking lot from the Patel Brothers management to identify the culprit but they told me their system is not working for the past few days. This is very hard to believe, if that is true than management is not taking care of the safety of their customers
Too crowded and prices are very expensive
My favorite Indian grocery store... Convenient, clean and reasonable prices... Cant wait to go back!
Amazing selection of fresh produce is probably my top thing.
Good fresh and packaged food shop
Wonderful grocery! Fresh produce, lots of different packaged and frozen products in stock, and fun new freezer things to try.
South asian grocery with a solid selection. Vegetable are less than perfect, but fresh, at good prices. Theyve always got fresh herbs for a dollar.
Fun to see all of the different varieties of foods, especially vegetables and good prices. My wife and I shop here every week.
Very clean store. a bit crowded, but still very clean. keep it up patels. Cheers🍻
Its a good place to shop but I do wish labels were more clear . Sometimes its hard to figure out what something is, mainly produce or an Indian spice.
Ive been in the store three times and every time I have felt unwelcome. From stocking crew leaving their carts in my path, to other shoppers giving me side eye and always unfriendly cashiers. It seems this store should post a sign for us NOT for you. I have been to other Asian groceries and never felt this vibe. The Japanese market staff are very friendly. Integration should work both ways. You are welcome at stores like Costco and I should feel welcome at Patel Brothers.
I actually went to the goodwill next door but this is an excellent store.
Great place to shop to cook a variety of vegetarian dishes and live a healthy way of life
Every location price are different with everything
Great produce and warm samosas. Got everything on my list with ease.
Amazing selection of fruits and vegetables! If youve never been to PBros youll be impressed with their selection.
Review In Covid: Fewer items all over the store. No measure for covid. You cant find a single place a sanitizer. Ideally, every row should have one sanitizer bottle. Too much crowd. Many people are without face marks. Forgot about social distancing in the store.
Indian groceries as provided - some customers and employees can make a person feel uncomfortable either because of an attitude (employees) or lasiviousness (customers). Also, there is a lack of distance protocol during this time. They are the only Indian grocery store option.
Just as good as their other stores. But i think it bit over price compared to 2nd location
All indian necessities are available.
Place for Indian groceries, good items and good prices
Your one-stop shop for Indian foods. Great quality!
This place is great. They have the best samosas. They make food inside of the grocery store. It is fresh and hot. They press sugar can juice on the weekends, and the people are nice. You can find henna at a great price. I like this place.
Good place to find Indian grocery
Selling expired products with altered date labels. Be careful while buying stuff.
Exchange and return policy is needed, rest is good.
Great
That is the place to buy spices and rice
I would have given a 4-star, if they had refilled the hand-wash dispenser in the restrooms. Not sure since how long the hand-wash dispenser was empty. I was concerned if the employees (including the ones who work in kitchen) washed their hands after the restroom usage. Thankfully, I had an hand sanitizer with me.They have good varieties of Indian vegetables and groceries. The store sells most Indian spices.
This is a very nice grocery store. Most items are India spices and foods, but lot of America food choices. The prices competitive with the grocery chains. I think larger quantity yield more for your money. And I saw a diverse work culture: which really impressed me. I will definitely return.
Great selection of Indian grocery items. A few produce items you cant find anywhere else too! House made roti is good, and the selection of quick side dishes from their aisles is amazing!
Great place for Indian groceries, they have a large variety of Asian (specifically Indian sub continent) groceries, snacks and vegetables. They could have a hand scanner for large items, we have to lift 20lb bags from the trolley to get them scanned. I wanted to give 4.5 stars for this reason, but that is not an option. Rounding up to 5 due to positive aspects.
Excellent Indian offerings. Enormous spicy pickle selection. Fresh produce at great prices. Good yogurts.
For the truckers. Quick unloading. People inside are friendly. Try not to park on the mall premises. They will either kick you out or call the police. Give the Vietnamese place just south of there a try. Excellent food.
Good place to get groceries but bad service when you reach to the counter.
Very nice and clean place a lot of stuff to pick from. The best one I ever been and. The place I will do all my shopping at Indian food
This grocery store is well maintained and has variety of food and products. I’m only giving it a four stars because I’ve been to a bigger Patel Brothers in NY and I love that one more.
Good and neat.
Usually the produce is okay from Patel Brothers. However, I bought small yellow Mango box on June 20th and all the mangoes were black on the inside. I had to throwaway all the mangoes. I was really disappointed. I also bought 3 boxes for my parents and they were also disappointed.
This could just be me who had an average experience. The bad :- Every rice bag bought from here has had black bugs. Ll- the checkout counter staff is usually tired/confused/- discrepancy in prices online and in store- the coconuts areThe Good:- great selection of vegetables- excellent freshly made rotis by the sweet aunties
They have a lot of things that can be difficult to find else where. I only wish they had more registers
Today I realized they manipulate the price of products as they wish. For a product online it showed $5.49, it is labelled as $6.49 and then at the counter it was $6.99. They guy responded quickly only to offer the product for $6.49. I thought they were doing honest business but now I have doubts.
Best for Indian grocery and everything Indian
Patel Brothers in Castleton is always neat and clean. I love the smell of Indian spices when I walk in the door! I shop there about once a month for various products.
Very impressive Indian store. I eat halal meat, so they have a good selection of that too.
I love visiting this store. The staff members are nice and pleasant to talk to and are very helpful.
Usual Indian Grocery Store
I will rate it as Good, not excellent. So I give 4*
Great place to buy Indian groceries, however st times this place seems pricy as compared to other stores. For sure you get fresh veggies but the prices will be literally double for certain things. Otherwise is a good place to buy your Indian groceries.
A staple place for filling your pantry with Indian groceries. It needs to add a handheld bar code scanner at the checkout registers to make it convenient for its workers and the buyers to scan the heavy rice/flour bags (etc) without having to do all that heavy-lifting.
Great selection of foods not found at any of the local supermarkets. Everything looked very fresh, which made sense given that it was fairly crowded on a Friday evening. Competitive prices the items that you can find elsewhere, too. Very clean and well lit store.
Great store for Indian groceries and fresh produce. Get freshly made chapatis on site. Staff is very Friendly.
This place is great for the people visiting Indianapolis. They have most of the basic stuff that Indians would prefer. Staff are good. I liked the snacks very much :) it would be good of they can have some Haldirams sweets and snacks. And very important one no store or restaurant here have very good Indian sweets or desserts.
I love this store! Im from Kenya, and I get all the spices and Kenyan tea I need. The fresh chapati and samosas are an added plus. Did I mention they have fresh Chevra?
You will not find a more organized ethnic shop that serves great Vegetarian supplies. The freshly made Roti’s are a huge bargain.
It has varieties of south asian vegetables available. You get to see during seasons few different vegetables, which is nice. The team us generally are helpful. The only concern I have is, banana stem that they sell - most of the time there is no stem inside and just the layers. For someone who does not know how to buy a Banana stem, they will be cheated. It is the responsibility of the workers not to sell the one there is no stems that just covered with layers. Because it is heavy, you are paying 5-8$ just for the layers, where there is No banana stem to cook.
I LOVE this store. GREAT selection, good prices, and the fresh samosas are very good. There is no better place to get all my Indian food supplies and premade meals!!!
Super bright, clean and organized. Being Caucasian I was not sure what exactly I needed. Employees asked if I needed help, even a customer asked if she could help me. Great place
Clean and great selection of Indian food
An indian grocery store. They have a great produce selection and sell treats made in house. If you come on Saturday or Sunday you can purchase a cup of fresh squeezed sugar cane with lime and ginger.
Well kept and well organized store with very helpful staff.
Great place for Indian and Pakistani grocery items. Produce is fresh. We love their freshly made chapati.
Good variety of vegetables. And those are always fresh. Sugar cane juice in the season. Freshly made theplas - mostly I have seen those on weekends not sure if those are available on weekdays as well. This place gets very busy on weekends.
Great store..you will get everything as in Indian store..
Their selection of spices is unbeatable. They also have a wide variety of interesting snack foods
