Casual Cuban in the heart of Logan Square. Always friendly and relaxed service. Great selection of traditional Cuban dishes, and a wide variety of drinks including different flavors of Mojitos. Grapefruit was the best!The front of the restaurant opens up for a patio-like feel, although I wish they had more tables available outside.

It was ok, it could have been better. We ordered Oxtail stew and it came room temperature, the black beans were borderline cold, tostones were also borderline cold. And they weren’t busy, the restaurants was about 25% full. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she just laughed and walked away. Sweet girl but didn’t seem to care.

We came here for dinner two nights ago. Since in-laws came to town and them being Cuban, we decided to have Cuban food for dinner. The staff is nice, and the place was almost empty but it was also a Sunday night. We definitely had no problem getting a table. I ordered a chicken sandwich and was very good. My mistake was not asking if it had onions as it did not agree with me. My kid and husband both got sandwich Cubano and both enjoyed it. The kid got it with French fries and my husband got it tostones. We found the tostones a bit too hard for our liking. My in-laws both got steak, one bread and one that wasnt. They enjoyed it. My kids cousin also got a chicken sandwich with fries. I had gotten mine with maduros (sweet plantains) with a side order of yuca frita. For dessert, some of us got tres leches cake and my in-laws shared flan.I forgot about the appetizers, I definitely recommend the tostones relleno. These were cups made from fried green plantains filled with seasoned beef. I wish I had gotten a few of them for myself. We also got croquettas with ham. Which everyone enjoyed.Do I recommend this place? Yes. Definitely go check this place out.

Absolutely the best cuban food. Hubby and I drove 228 miles round trip just for lunch at this restaurant. They did not disappoint. We will make this trip again soon. We would highly recommend this restaurant

Ropa Vieja is good. Other items are hit or miss, pretty bland. Mojitos are steeply priced.

I rarely leave reviews, but I would like to take the time to say that this restaurant deserves 10 stars. The staff here are Amazing! Huge shout out to Maricella and the gentleman who was at the door and behind the bar (sorry i didn’t catch your name!). We celebrated my grandmother’s 70th birthday and they went above and beyond to accommodate us even though they had no obligation to. You can tell that they really care about their customers and their experience.The food here is absolutely amazing and flavorful. If you’ve never had Cuban food before, don’t come here. Go elsewhere first, then come here to see how much better it is lol... but seriously, I promise you that this place sits at the top 3 Cuban restaurants in Chicagoland.The drinks are great, I had the Mango Mojito and it was amazing. My girlfriend had the Strawberry Mojito and my grandmother had the classic Mojito and all of them were great!To the staff here at Taste of Havana, keep up the great work and don’t ever change anything. My girlfriend and I have made plans to become regulars here as the food is absolutely amazing!!!!!

The atmosphere is lovely. The service was very nice and the food was very delicious. I had their classic mojito, yucca con mojo, and a delicious churrasco with chimichurri with sweet plantains and white rice with black beans. Defenitley Recommend

Says they are open online, let me place an online pick up order for $112 and even sent me a receipt. Waited an hour and a half for follow up email about when the food would be ready that said was coming with receipt email. I drive to the restaurant to find they are not even open! Out 2 hours and 100 bucks. Unacceptable

The food was pretty good. Unfortunately I won’t be eating here again. I placed a to go order and when I arrived my food was sitting out in the open for everyone to walk and cough over. Their service came off as careless and unsanitary.

This was our first time to Taste of Havana and we will def be back. Being originally from Miami, this is our kind of food and the food here was on par and even better than most of Miamis best. The staff couldnt have been nicer and service was exceptional. We really look forward to returning for another taste of home.

This place is wonderful! Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. The grapefruit mojito was delicious. And the dinner itself was fantastic! Plus, they have some great sounding lunch specials that I cant wait to try!

Overpriced food and drink. We enjoyed the apps more than the mains. The Cuban sandwich was dry and lacked flavor -- pretty much the opposite of how it should be. The ropa vieja sandwich was also dry. The empanadas and croquettas were quite good though.

Saturdays bottomless Mojitos and Mimosas are absolutely positively excellent. The atmosphere is great. I would definitely go back.

The drinks were great, the food was authentic and amazing, the prices are so reasonable, and the owner even came around to check on us! The wait staff seemed a little scattered when we got there, but its a new place so cut them some slack, and they were all so nice, that I didnt mind at all. Looking forward to going back to try new things! Highly recommend the Cubano sandwich.

Ordered a chicken steak entree, asked for extra plantains instead of rice but still received a regular portion, chicken and beans I expected to be better and were too salty in my opinion. Very nice environment and staff was friendly.

Great ambience. Mojitos were very good. The beef empanada was delicious. The tostones that came with my Cuban sandwich were also very good. Only thing that could be better was the sandwich itself. The chicken that it came with was really dry and had little flavor. The French bread was lackluster and the ham itself wasnt anything spectacular. Shame the sandwich was no good. Everything else was great

I cant rave enough about this place. As Cuban, raised in Miami, I have very high standards for places that say they sell Cuban food. Ive tried so-called Cuban places in nearly every major city in the U.S. outside of Florida and am usually disappointed. This place, however, is excellent. Between the appetizers, food, and pastelitos, this place is the most authentic Cuban spot Ive been to outside of Florida. Croquetas? Nailed it. Pastelitos de Guayaba? Nailed it. Nobody has those outside Miami! (Maybe one place in Manhattan, NYC).Bottom line: if youre in Chicago and want real Cuban food, not American food masquerading as Cuban food, hit this place up. Ill be back next time Im in town.

Had my wifes birthday dinner here today. Was an amazing time! The food and Mojitos were soo good. Saturday nights the Mojitos are half priced till 6pm. So we took full advantage of this. The staff was friendly and kind and always checked up on us! The atmosphere of the restaurant was Cuban! Loved the photos and art on the walls .DEFINETLY GOING BACK!!!

Bad experience, had only a few employees making wait times super long. It was like they only had 1 cook and stove. The owner Robert was dressed in jeans and was very rude. We explained to Robert we had been waiting a very long time for our take out order, over an hour, he exclaimed with a sore attitude he was very busy; he proclaimed that excuse many times. After a few more attempts to find out why it was taking so long to get our orders, Robert braizingly called me an a$$wipe; WoW! We demanded a refund for our prepaid food at that point and Robert refused; and kept us hostage waiting for food. We saw almost every dine in customer happily recieve food while we were waiting, not to mention there were at least 4 drivers like Grubhub waiting as long for their food; those poor drivers were also treated similarly by Robert. Stay away from this place, Cuba probably treats their prisoners better than this joint treats their customers.

Over priced, you can get the same exact Cuban or Media Noche right down the road that Hasnt been sitting in a cooler for 2 days, then heated up (wow its so fast).The owner sits in the far back table talking as loud as possible with his buddies like hes some kind of Mob boss. Hell even come talk to you, tell you his life story and let you know about the half priced mojitos, which is weird because at half-off, theyre still $7-9. So yes youre paying half off in the restuarant but any other place youll get the $7-9 mojitos at Normal pricing. This place is not authentic Cuban despite the investors pushing it to be that way.

Went for a late lunch with husband, son and his wife yesterday. Easy to find parking. Greeted promptly and with a smile. Allowed to pick a table. Pan con ajo basket was warm and tasty. We had a second one. Beer was cold. We chose mariquitas con mojo as our appetizer. Also tasty. Nice presentation. Mojitos were so good we had two each. For entrees we chose tilapia criolla, lechón asado, y rabo encendido. Side dishes ranged from yuca, congrí, arroz blanco y habichuelas negras. We all shared because it was all sabroso! For dessert we had flan and tres leches. Not disappointed. Liked the ambiance and service. Spent over two hours there and went fast. Highly recommended. Authentic, tasty, friendly staff. You will come back.
