I went here for a $29.99 diagnostic on a vibrations issue while driving. I was then called and told I did not have lug nuts on my front wheel.I explained I had rims that covered the lugs with a cap. I was then argued with about how much experience he has and that I don’t have lugs. By time I had got to the store they had figured it out.They then walked me around my vehicle and showed me that I needed now pads and rotors. I declined the service and told them to slap the wheels back on and we can schedule another day. I then return to work.I get a call 2 hours later the my vehicle is ready, when I go to pick it up it is now near $800. I said I never approved this. He said I did over the phone. Which is impossible because they didn’t know how to get my wheels off when we had that conversation.Now I am still fighting to get my money back and being made to feel like this is my fault.I will NEVER go to a car x again. I thought I would share before someone else gets taken advantage of in this type of situation.

I was having car troubles while traveling through Indiana back to Tennessee, and was able to get my car looked at and fixed by Norman in about an hour for a very affordable price. Both he and the man at the register were very kind and helpful. If I’m ever stuck there again, I know where to go.

Ive always had a good experience at the Car Xs around greenwood (31&135). I had to pretty much get my entire cooling system replaced at this one. They fixed me all up and were reasonable with the price. I can see why some people complain about the attitude of the guy there but I honestly just think its a personality thing. Not everyone is warm and fuzzy, which is just fine. If youre nice and respectful youll get the same in return. I will definitely come back if I need other maintenance done.

Definitely appreciate the hard working honesty these guys presented as well as the great prices on labor, parts and overall service. Definitely will come back again.Came in needing an oil change and turn light bulb replaced, came out with a needed air filter change and wiper fluid filled.Just a warning they are understaffed so expect some longer wait times on service

I went there to check air conditioning and ask a question to the manager. He did not respond respectfully and scold me for asking him the question twice to understand in detail. The manager manner is not acceptable at all. He will yell and talk down on the customer especially with other race other than white. I don’t know why Car X hire him. Car X need to find a new manager who respect and care about the customer and treat everyone the same.

Excellent service especially by the guy who worked at the front desk who I believe his name was Kirk went above and beyond! I thought my car was ruined before him and his team took an alternator out that I had just had put in a month before that at another shop and come to find out it had not been installed incorrectly and Just a few hours later I was pulling out of Car-X parking lot feeling like I was leaving the dealership with how smooth my ride was running. You guys saved my life thank you!

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation on my car and had a coupon that stated both. I told him what I wanted when I called and scheduled appointment and also when I checked in. When he told me they were done they had not rotated the tires. I told him and he went off on me and shouted at me that it was my fault because I shoved the coupon in his face while he checking me in. Had a price quote for transmission fluid exchange for my truck. Took it in and gave him the coupon I had for $25 off. He said the price I was quoted was $20 off and the coupon was only good for $5. Well he got his money-back by charging me for shop supplies that were not explained and it ended up costing what it would have without a coupon maybe even more. The work was ok but management needs changing. I also overheard him talking to other customers like they were idiots also.

I always go there to get my oil changed. But I dont go there as much. Dont go there as much now because they close the one on West Washington Street. I dont know where the closest one is to me. The Car-X in Greenwood is too small for the business that Car-X gets. I need a closer place to me

Had breaks fixed on my daughters car, they werent right. Brought the car back again (after already spending $500) they had to order a part. Went and picked up the car after hours and noticed her windshield broken. Notified them and they said they would pay half to fix it. They were supposed to call around and get prices then get back to me. I havent heard a word from them about the windshield. You would have thought they would have notified me when it happened instead of acting like all was ok. I still feel like they should have paid for the complete window but because I had a crack at the very bottom (for 2 years wasnt in my view ) they felt half was appropriate.Wanted to update my review. After taking my car back in 4 times for the same issue (my breaks) they are still not fixed! So now Im out 500.00 I paid plus the windshield they never paid half as promised.

One of the employees is pretty rude but everyone else seemed nice. They aired one tire up to 38 psi and left the others at 30 though. To me that is bad customer service.

I was charged $300 for a part and thought it was high. Called a local dealer the next day and was quoted $64, from a car dealer! A 25-50% price markup for parts is the industry standard. A 300-500% markup is price gouging.I’ve been going there for over 15 years and they were always the most courteous and honest shop on the south side. Markups like this never happened before. Heartbreaking to see an awesome shop go downhill like this.

This place is by far, the best car mechanic shop in Indianapolis! Words cannot express this teams professionalism, attention to detail, work ethic, and most importantly their customer service! Jason and Don are two people would strive to get to know their customers by name and help provide advice when needed. They are not a place that looks to dupe customers on unnecessary repairs and they also are not afraid to admit fault, when problems happen. They are truly honest, good men (the entire group), and even though I live over 30-minutes away and pass many other shops, I will always bring my vehicles to them for as long as they are in business.

Anthony was amazing today as always. He always took care of my car at the Plainfield store, and now I have followed him to Greenwood to continue with my car needs. Nothing compares to his customer service, and he always maintains open communication about my car in a timely fashion. Review should be 2 stars, but they did try to save me money so they earned that 3rd star. Was told be several mechanic friends that I need to get the radiator flushed, this place had the cheapest ones in the area. I set up an appointment (via phone, well get back to that...) for the this morning, yesterday. I get to the store and I find myself walking out 4 minutes before my appointment. I was asked why I was there for a radiator flush and after explaining my situation (which took less than five minutes) I was told that the flush was useless and that they wont do it. They said they need to do a diagnostic before they do the flush. Again, they did try and save me money saying the flush would be a waste of money (in their opinion). But why would none of this be explained over the phone? Why waste my time coming over? Speaking of the phone call, it was very hard to hear since I could hear the entire store in the background, manager seemed nice though. A frustrating experience and my car still has its issues unfixed.

Always have a great experience here. The mechanics are very polite and nice. Whenever I come here and its busy they still manage to get me taken care of right away. Last time I went in they had a coupon out for an oil change and I didnt have a chance to get the coupon and they went ahead and gave me the discount.

I can’t say enough great things about this Car-X location. Jason and his staff are amazing! This is a shop that you can believe and doesn’t rip you off. I would HIGHLY recommend the CarX on US 31 & Stop 11!! Jason & his crew are fabulous mechanics & even more fabulous people delivering the best customer service I have ever received! They stayed open 40minutes late on a Friday night when I was headed out of town & had an emergency, just to get me on the road safely, & as quick as possible. They even had someone drive across town to pick up the parts needed. Even after all of this, every single one of them had a smile on their face, and said they were happy to help! Service like this is very rare these days .... please give them your business!

It was an especially difficult job, so much so that they had to fabricate their own tools just to get the job done....and even more incredible was that they charged me what they said the job normally costs, no extra charge for the extra hours of labor put in on this very challenging issue. I took my car into because my brakes were getting stuck on in the morning. I dont know if it was the regular brakes or the parking brake that is getting stuck on, but the parking brake handle was loose with no resistance.They tell me I need new brake pads, rotors, and calipers in the back. I ask if that will fix the problem of my brakes being stuck on in the morning and they said yes. I pay $700 to have the work done.I get my car back and my brakes were still getting stuck on in the morning; parking brake handle still loose. I drive the car in with the brakes smoking again and they supposedly fixed the problem.This morning, my parking brake was still loose with no resistance as I tried to take it off and my brakes were stuck on, burning and smoking the first half of the ride to work.I guess Ill be taking my car back for a 3rd timeEditMy car is there for the third time.After contacting customer service, I was told the manager of the region would contact me the same day. Nobody called me.

I called at 8am this morning... asked if they would be able to check my truck battery and make sure that was the reason it wouldn’t start. It sat there all day. I had to call 3 times to find out when it would be ready. They said it needed a battery and a serpentine belt and would be ready by 4pm. 8 hours to change a battery and a belt?? $291 quote. What a joke. I will not return and will tell everyone to avoid.

These guys could have taken advantage of us and they chose to be honest and tell us that with the mileage and the year it would be wasting our money. They did provide is with a solution to compensate for the problem that was affordable. I trust this store and will continue to go to them for ALL my vehicle repair needs.

This is for the us31 south location. Repair done quickly and priced OK. When I went to pick up vehicle I had someone drop me off. I guess they didnt like that, some employee came running out yelling to move the vehicle out of the way or he would move it for me. He kept yelling things like that and wouldnt listen to me I was going to use this company regularly but not if they are going to act hillbilly there are plenty of other places.

Never Again! I WALKED OUT....my 12 pm appt turned into 1:30 with my car still sitting there. Noone seemed to care. For a SIMPLE BRAKE INSPECTION. At 1:30 i asked for my keys to leave , they still had NO IDEA who going to do the inspection. FORGET THAT. i will go somewhere who has it TOGETHER.

Good customer satisfaction

The service performed was excellent. The only reason it wasnt five stars was that it took an hour longer than verbally quoted. Other than that, my vehicle is running like new having done the repair expertly - replaced a control bearing and installed four tires. The staff was courteous, professional and answered my questions in a way that I could understand them.

The people here truly care about their customers and what’s best for them. They won’t try to give you cheap, temporary fixes, and they won’t try to way oversell you. I won’t take my car anyplace else. Thank you, Jason, for great experiences at Car-X!!

These guys are awesome. They are quick and easy to work with. I cant tell you if they have the cheapest prices or whose the cheapest in town but I can tell you youll have an enjoyable experience and they will do quality work.

I have not had work done on any car at this location but I did buy a car from a person who works here named Tim. He sold me a car that has a bad engine and a cracked starter stating that nothing was wrong with car besides a $30 pipe to fix the exhuast. He claims to be a mechanic of 30 plus years. I wonder how good of work he is doing on other peoples car when he is not even an honest person. He will not return calls to his cell so Im having to take another route to get his attention!!

A little pricey, and they probably talked me into brake pads I didnt need yet. Also, none of the employees were wearing face coverings.

I had brakes done and a tension pulley replaced. I took my car to them after firestone gave me a quote for almost double what car x did. I had firestone replace my serpentine belt the next morning it came off. Car x will get my bussiness from here on out. They kept me informed what was going on. Car x suggested what I did not have to fix right away. They are professional and dont try to RIP people off like other places.

I am new to Indiana via California and my brother recommended this place to me. I went in for a standard oil change but found out my car required the more expensive synthetic oil after I had already left my car to them. They called me and let me know the cost difference, explained it to me, and asked my approval. They also offered me a different rate based on the fact they had provided me a quote that ended up not being correct. This Car-X operates as a place with integrity and is honest and thorough. I would absolutely recommend them.

Not Happy they doubled the prices of materials needed,then told me I had to do reverse side or it was hoping to come apart made it sound like I wasnt going to make it home from the shop.

Asked them if they could do an oil change and use synthetic oil. They said yes and asked me if I had any coupons. I said no but I see you do military discounts. He said we can give you 10.00 dollars off. Okay why was my oil change so cheap and only good for 3000 miles? Because they didnt use synthetic oil. And I had oil all over my arm rest and they snooped in my compartments. Wont go back there.

I made an appointment for alignment on online. When I when to the store, they cancelled my appointment. They said, we dont make an appointment alignment on online you need to leave your car here. Why they dont let me know when I made an appointment on online that they dont make appointment on online. Not also only at this time, my personally like CARX for some reason but I went to them they never got fixed what I need to fix. Too bad customer take care. Never CARX again.

Crooked, rude, and deceitful. Just needed a bit of exhaust welded. Wouldve done it myself but I dont own a welder. Told me I needed to buy a whole new exhaust from them. I asked them why. It simply needed a 2 bolt flange welded to the down pipe to match the rest of the exhaust. Fed me a bunch of bs and where extremely rude when I asked just to have my car back. Took it down the street and had it done in 30minutes no problem.

I have had 3 different cars in there for a number of things. One I took in for a concern and they told me a couple of things that were wrong and told me what was major and what could wait instead of making me believe it all needed done now.
