Environment was friendly, professional and safe -range correctly protected, guns well stored and clean, guidelines visible for everyone, etc. Id emphasize their honesty which makes it especially recommendable for international visitors too. This was my first time and I felt safe and informed. JR took his time to instruct. He was friendly and welcoming, which was especially appreciated on my first time. JR spent plenty of time going over the guns, their features, and which would be best suited for each of us. He took us into the class and entertained all our questions and demonstrated everything. Top Gun has been around for many years. Enjoyed our first visit. JR was very professional and was a great instructor. We took the safety class which was very useful. I had an AMAZING time here! The guy behind the counter was so helpful & polite, I wish I had gotten his name. I came with my own weapon and paid for ammo here which was kind of pricey but not more than I expected. As a former Boyert customer, I will only return here! The entire experience was so much better! They are very organized & diverse. As a person of color mixing in guns I felt completely welcomed here. Boyert is hit or miss on customer service to gun newbies & POC!

Love this range. Been my favorite out of all the ones Ive visited so far after moving here. Took my coworkers for some team building and they all had a great time as well. They even upgraded my trigger quickly and for cheaper than I was quoted elsewhere. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the lobby is amazing! Clean, video games for kids (and adults), great products, and a huuuge assortment of firearms for sale and rent. This is my go to range now, and its location couldnt be more perfect for me. Bait and switch! Went for the advertised Ladies Night to practice at the range only to be told I couldn’t even rent a gun without “proving” I knew how to use the gun, and demanded you buy the $50 training class. The fact you can buy a gun without any “proof” but can’t even rent to practice without their training is a scam. They’re trying to finesse women and I will never return.

First day at top gun.trainer was best .i had issues filling out paper work via on line at top gun. Few of fellas there help but this one fella i told him 4-5 times that i need help with filling out forms.in this situatiin im gonna ask a thousand questions. I actually had to stop him in his boots . hate it when person mistakes me for being dum.but he shut his P.H. fast.not good REP for top gun.

I had a really good time at this range. My only complaint is that I was charged for 5 boxes of ammo and only received 4. I had noticed it on my receipt 10 mins after leaving the range, turned around and tried to get my money back for it, but there was nothing they could do since I did not catch it when it happened. Overall this place is awesome, it just sucks I got overcharged. Be aware of your receipts if you’re going.

Cody with the License to Carry course at was great! It’s a very looong class so I greatly appreciated him keeping it exciting and interactive. He was also very knowledgeable about the topics, laws, and ways to make carrying a gun safe and effective. At first, I was hesitant if I was making the right decision to get licensed, but after finishing the course I feel so much more confident! I’m so ready to learn even more and maybe even take one of his other courses!

Awesome service. Free club rental yall! $50 for a booth per hour. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, especially if youve never been! Pricing is alot like bowling so expect food/alcohol prices to be similar.

I stopped going there a few months ago. The guys behind the counter have ZERO customer service skills. Mostly too engaged in their own conversations. Last time o was there, I stood at the counter for at least 10 minutes. Nobody acknowledged me. There were at least 5-6 people working! Now I go to Athena Gun Club. Their customer service is head and shoulders above Top Gun!

Went in for a class on basic handgun safety and I was totally surprised on how little I knew about guns. Way much more to it than simple point and shoot. The instructor was very knowledgeable and taught me so much in just an hour. I was iffy at first with some of the bad reviews I’ve read but from my experience I didn’t see how they would be talking about this place. Clean. Safe. Awesome experience. Definitely will be back.

On March 10,2021 I took my LTC test and exam and I’ve been to ranges all over Houston But something about this range is special their clean and professional God bless their employees it feels like welcoming from the moment you walk in.Cody was my instructor and a fantastic teacher. We took the private basic handgun class with Tanner and absolutely LOVED IT. I can’t believe how much I learned in an hour and a half, and how comfortable I was with everything by the end of it. He was an amazing instructor from start to finish, and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He explained the ‘why’ behind all of the rules and safety measures, made sure my boyfriend and I were completely comfortable the entire time, and always told us what to expect so we were prepared and not caught off guard. This was both of our first times ever even holding a gun. I would highly recommend Tanner and this class to anyone!

Went to let off a few rounds from my Vintage Ruger P94 and my EC9s. This was my first time here. Process is very quick and easy, sign your waiver and get it started. They provide safety equipment and it is cleaned and sanitized before and after use. The guys behind the counter were all chipper and very helpful. Definitely will return.

I went to this place to try out my new P365X and ask the experts on the range if they could help me install my HS507K X2 RDS on the gun, because Im visiting Houston and I dont have my tools with me. The employee was fairly unfriendly. He told me that I needed to buy an adapter, which ended up being not true. When I went to the range, I also wanted to get some ammo. They wanted to charge me $45 plus tax for 50 rounds of 9mm ammo. Luckily, I brought enough of my own. Other than that, the range was clean and functional.

Just did my LTC course here! We had Cody as our instructor and he was a blast! The class was very informative and he made it fun and interesting and I have to say it was the easiest 6 hour class to get through, I enjoyed every minute and learned a lot. I came here a couple of weeks prior to use the range, it’s packed on Saturday so plan ahead. Great range and the staff Is pleasant and helpful. Plenty of cool rentals to use. It’s overall a great place!

I went last week with my bestie for the first time & it was ladies night. I had everything I needed (weapon, PPE, and ammo) so I spent about $18 bucks with taxes. We had a great time and will definitely make this a stop when I’m in town.The only things I didn’t like is the clerk tried to charge us $43 dollars for a box of .9mm ammo. I didn’t like that considering I know how much I typically pay for a box. I also didn’t like that the lanes weren’t sectioned, I.e., hand guns on this side and heavy artillery on the other. (But I do understand why it’s not like that so I quickly got over that!) But other than that, it was great!

Very good place if you want to go shooting. The staff is very nice. The price is ok except the ammo boxes that are a little bit expensive. Also they dont have some exotic guns like Dessert Eagle .50 Cal. Thats the only reason I dont give this place 5 stars, bit still a very good option if you are in Houston.

Ive always wanted to learn how to handle and operate a gun properly to own one. From my first encounter with a Top Gun rep to inquire about Safety classes, to taking my LTC proficiency, or just meeting the girls on Wednesday for Ladies night, everyone I encounter is extremely friendly and professional. They always go above and beyond to help, answer questions and keep clients safe. Im a middle-aged female and feel so comfortable at Top Gun. Its tempting to be a little intimidating walking into a gun range and asking amateur questions but the staff has always been there to assist me with whatever I need. They love what they do there!

I usually don’t write reviews but I feel as this is very important. Today was my second time going to this facility. Upon my arrival I was able to talk to one of the Employe who was nice enough to talk to me. But I went over to another employee and he was RUDE from the start. You can tell he is someone with no experience of customer service. He was very short with his Words and made it clear he didn’t want to assist us. I was disgusted by the way I was treated. I rather spend my dollars where I’m valued.

My wife and I took the LTC course yesterday with Cody. He is a great instructor, (we already took a private lesson with him). He presented the detained material with personality and some comical spin all while delivering the important points of becoming a licensed firearms carrier. I highly recommend taking the course at Top Gun Range, they people are nice and the range is well kept.

I enjoy the perks of membership each time I come to shoot. I have completed my Carry Permit Class and Proficiency Testing. I fell in love with Pistol Marksmanship after purchasing a Nighthawk 1911 from Top Gun and started weekly private training sessions with Expert instructors on staff at Top Gun. I recommend Top Gun Range for everything from classes, rentals, buying, customizing and upgrading guns from Aftermarket parts. Cody, the Resident Gunsmith at Top Gun will do it all. and I cant recommend my mentor and instructor, Eric Cerrato, enough, as he truly is a “caliber above the rest” imo with his attention to detail and breaking down basic actions into steps that are easily communicated and most importantly, Eric’s teaching style is very encouraging and will set you up with the tools you need if you plan to carry or seek to perfect your shooting skill.

They service from a young gentleman was absolutely horrible! He made the entire experience horrible! He literally yelled at me and my students and upon us leaving gave us the finger and told us to never come back, go to another gun range! I spent $300 for the worst service and will definitely refer other elsewhere!

My boyfriend and I went to top gun today. We have never in our life’s been into a gun shop much less hold a gun. We took the basic course that day. Leo Munoz was absolutely amazing. He had so much patience and was very thorough with instructions.We did not feel rushed. He made us feel comfortable holding a 22 gun in our hands for the first time. I have been to Top Gun on a few previous occasions but had been less than thrilled with what I perceived as a lack of awareness and safety from other shooters on the range. When deciding to take the LTC course I was hesitant to go back to Top Gun. However, Cody was superb and the overall environment was comfortable and well controlled.The class was engaging and he did an excellent job making legal jargon digestible. His examples and scenarios were relatable and appropriate for the group to grasp. I would recommend if considering your license.

Cody helped us out with our time there. We had never held a gun before in our life but he taught us everything and made it such a fun experience! Definitely coming back here!

Such a bad experience. They bully you when you don’t know how to shoot like they were born with guns in their hands. Worse customer service I’ve come across. Such a shame that you come somewhere to spend your money and have fun and they treat you like trash. Inacceptable

I love Top Gun Range because if you are being a safe shooter, you can ACTUALLY shoot your firearm... In other words, you can shoot as fast as you want if you are being safe... you cannot learn to shoot a pistol until you shoot it as fast as possible.

Lead instructor Demetrius (aka “D”) taught my LTC course in Aug 2020. After getting a recommendation from a trusted friend, D did not disappoint. He had the perfect amount of humor for a long course and was serious when necessary. He spoke in plain English, with practical examples and was very patient with one student asking VERY introductory questions, repeatedly.He was also one of the best instructors I’ve had in any topic, from college through the private sector.I’m sure there are plenty of good LTC instructors in Houston, but this is the only place I’ll recommend going forward.
