Ive been coming to the shop since the old location at Fondren. The staff is friendly and helpful. If youre looking for store to get a feel or compare different firearms this is the place. Id recommend for both new and experienced hobbyist.

Fantastic place for firearms and collectibles. This is a new location and it is just impressive, clean and spacious. The staff here are very friendly. I brought in a firearm to appraise. It’s an older WWII era one, so they had to call in the right guy to look it over. They told me what I could expect to get for it on the open market and gave me a generous cash offer on it. I opted to keep it, as they seem to be gaining value over time. I will definitely be back!

I recently went to Collectors Firearms on Westheimer to purchase my 1st handgun.I met with Matt Walker, one of the managers. He was knowledgeable, patient and answered all my questions. Matt showed me what choices I would have for a lightweight handgun with minimum recoil. I feel very comfortable with my decision to purchase a Glock 43X. Found an antique pistol from the 1800s. Very rare find as it is linked to the Greek Revolution. From day one had a good experience and mind you this was all online and over the phone. Little hickups while trying to pay over the phone the balance but hey...we are all human. Cant wait to get it in my hands!

Sunday November 7th between the hours of 11-12 noon i decided to visit collectors firearms which I must say has a great selection and variety of weaponry. But the staff wasn’t friendly, wasn’t helpful and gave off the impression that I really didn’t want to be bothered. I walked in with the intent on walking out with a firearm, literally trying to give away money in exchange for a handgun or whatever I decided to purchase. I’m a honorably discharged veteran, clean background purchased 3 weapons from the establishment before but at the older location on Richmond which I feel at that time the staff was very helpful, polite and courteous. this time around really left a bad taste for the establishment. Oh, they weren’t all that busy either 😒!!!

This Place is Awesome! Wide range of firearms and antiques! Very historical items; I am looking forward to coming back to see what my firearm would be worth to upgrade it! The Customer service is top notch and the cashiers are not only friendly but good looking.

Walked in just to “look”. Walked out with my first handgun! Scott was super knowledgeable, helpful and took his time to answer all my questions. He showed me other comparable options that I didn’t even know existed. His customer service was phenomenal! Will definitely be back with more questions and any other weaponry needs!

Best shopping experience Ihave had. Blake was excellent and very knowledgeable about the weapon I chose. He took the time to explain the details and was patient while we looked for a red dot sight.. Will definitely come back and get the rifle I was looking at. Even though its a 6 hour trip for me.

This was my second visit to the store in the past 6 months. I love the variety they have and all the cool historical pieces as well.Aside from all the cool stuff one of my most important things I look for when purchasing a weapon is for a staff member like (Adolfo Guerrero) that knows what hes selling and can actually help you make the right purchase that youre going to love.Not only did he helped us make an ideal purchase, he can also show you how the piece works and how to handle it with out making you feel like a dummy. Not everyone knows about guns and it can sometimes be a little intimidating when going to look for a weapon and if the staff member is not really helping you out correctly starting by making you feel comfortable it can make it even harder to make a purchase.Adolfo Guerrero has great costumer service skills and treats you like a long time friend, hell even get you a drink if youre thirsty. LOVE THIS PLACE!Darren was very helpful. I am looking I too getting a handgun to protect me and my girl and he went out of his way to make sure I found the gun that’s fits me! He didn’t try to make me over spend and still offered to help me even though I said I won’t be buying today. When I apologized for taking so long he assured me that I am only making his job fun because he likes to help people and socialize. After 30 minutes or so i found the perfect gun. Idk what’s it’s name but do know where to find it. After that Darren also let me know layaway is a thing here so if I wanna get rofle it’ll be easier. When I get this paycheck ima stop by and get one from him. I only regret coming in when it was busy. And the salesman are helpful. Because they threw in their experience and knowledge when talking about the gun helping Darren like crew. I do have a question. If I wanted to get my gun changed up like new sights will someone do that for me here? Like glow sights?

Rip-off. I have had good results buying and selling items here but your results will depend heavily on which sales person from this store. I highly recommend doing business elsewhere. Even a pawn shop would be a better option.

Great selection of guns. Nice store. Great service.The prices are the highest you’ll pay for a gun anywhere. They are asking more than msrp and more than any other gun store for there guns. Which really sucks because they have a great selection of guns. They have a mossberg 88 for $269 and academy and anywhere else sells it for $199. Same goes for the pistols. I understand that academy is a big box store. I also visited other gun stores and shows and prices are significantly lower than collectors. They are Very overpriced. Love the store and the service. Wish they were more competitive with there pricing.

This is not a store it’s a museum. If you love guns than this is your dream store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and decent prices on the products.

Best place to buy/trade rare and unusual firearms in Houston. I have been going here (including old location) for 10 years and have made 100s of purchases. I have never been disappointed with a purchase here where the managers couldn’t make it right. Buy with confidence and support a local Texas business.

You guys got to start hiring younger people who actually keep up with new stuff. Every time I call or go for help all the people there dont even know their own products or what they sell. How do you work at a gun store but dont even know what surefire light is currently out on you shelves?

Bought an M1 Garand from them, customer service was top notch and because someone bought the exact rifle I placed an order for, they gave me a new one they had on hand and threw 3 clips of ammo in as well. Nice people. 10/10.

A pretty fascinating place to view collectors pieces and modern guns.

A friend and I drove from Beaumont to Houston to look at a specific pistol. After being in the shop for half an hour, we were waiting patiently at the case where the pistol was located. We were passed by at least 4 or 5 employees, who were very eager to wait on some younger folks that were probably much closer to their age group, but not one employee ask if they could assist us. We finely got fed up and left. Will not be going back to this establishment.

Buying used guns here is a very good idea, they do verify functionality and they have a great warranty with highly skilled, in-house, gunsmiths who can fix darn near anything. All new and used is guaranteed in-house. I love that. I brought a mid-60s malfunctioning revolver from another shop, where the other gunsmith told me that the gun could not be fixed, and the gunsmith at Collectors repaired it easily for less than 100 bucks. This place does business honorably, and in the current market of guns (new and used) thats really saying something. I would happily give them 5 stars, but Im embarrassed to admit that I just paid $100 for a 50-round box of 45 colt. Collectors does have lots of obscure calibers of ammo, but even the common stuff is getting up to nosebleed prices. (yes we all understand the shortage). EDIT: Raised my review to 5 stars based on the “owner response” to another review explaining ammo pricing and the increased wholesale price that Collectors pays in order to stock hard to find calibers. Respectable. This shop does business far more honorably than many. Cheap prices generally mean you are on your own with warranty issues, which is not the case here.

One of the best gun stores in Houston. If you collect historical items this place is like a museum. The service is great. Texas hospitality, and by the sign over the toilet, Texas humor too.

Heavy price gouging on handgun ammo. Too bad. Its a great place to look around at interesting firearms. $29 box of Sig .380 for $89. Crazy. And dont blame it on the current market. I find ammo at reasonable prices everyday.Go early in the morning to Academy instead to get your ammo. They can tell you which days it comes in. Only 2 boxes per customer but they dont gouge you.Then go browse the firearms for fun.I would also suggest checking out pawn shops that sell firearms and ammo. I have found some very good ammo prices at those locations.These comments are my opinions. My opinions are based on my experiences. Other people have different experiences and may have different opinions.

I have an old High Standard H-D Military that I took apart for cleaning recently. Although I am no slouch at firearm reassembly, I could not get the slide back on properly. Believe me, it is not an easy task, as it required four hands easily.I took it to Collectors this morning, and a very nice French chap named Fabrice (sp?) took it to the back and had is reassembled in 10 minutes. Best part is that he did it for no cost.I have always considered Collectors to be a bit overpriced, but have always thought the folks there were extremely nice. However, what Fabrice did this morning was right over the top!Collectors gets a pretty high mark in my book.

Ive purchased a few guns at the old location. This was my first time in the new location and its absolutely beautiful and even better than the old store. I was only here for a transfer but it was a breeze and all of the employees were friendly and helpful. They have TONS of stuff in stock and plenty of ammo with no limit. Yeah the prices arent what you MIGHT be able to get two boxes at academy for if you wait in line for an hour but regardless its IN STOCK and available. Also the store doesnt require a mask to enter and majority of the staff and customers arent wearing them which seems like it makes extra sense being a gun store and all.

When you walk into this gun shop, like being in a large-scale military firearms museum, exhibition display every pistols, each exhibition shelves of the guns, to tell you in the past vicissitudes of history. Each gun has its own master of story. I really stunned, I do not advertise it, I really feel this love of firearms gun store owner, he is in the promotion of gun culture, but also for the majority of gun owners to find a legitimate interaction of platform. This is also a beautiful art.

Great selection of all things related to guns. However that comes at a cost; both financially and psychologically. Be prepared to over pay for everything and be treated like you are not worthy of their time and/or knowledge.Disclaimer: This is based on several visits over multiple years and purchases. I have had a very few great experiences with a select group of associates but that is the exception and not the rule.

As a follow-up to my earlier review, a month has passed & I have had the privilege to have gunsmithing services (e.g. triggers, stocks, sights, mounts) performed by Cory & Jaime. They have really knocked my socks off, Cory has patiently walked me through the options available to me, providing professional guidance without inserting opinion, as opposed to professional judgment. They keep me coming back. And this last weekend, Matt gave me a VIP treatment, we worked out a fair trade, he oversaw all the transactions & ensured their completeness & accuracy, patiently explained the details & answered all my myriad of questions concerning the trade & the two items in question, & truly gave stellar service working out a very fair deal with unsolicited perks. It made my day & forthcoming week, to be treated like royalty, I can take Matts business acumen of seeing things through beyond completion to my own job...Kudos for ethical behavior! Two days ago I purchased a Krag Philippine Constabulary carbine from Collectors Firearms. I immediately took it over to their gunsmith Cory to function check it, but he came back & shared his discovery that it was actually inoperable (there was a weld at the breach barrel area). He spoke with management & no hesitation by all parties concerned, they took it back, a manager Matt offered no hassle return or exchange, an option that I exercised & he took 10% off the price to help remediate the situation. Frankly I rarely see that level of ethical behavior in business or anywhere, kudos to Collectors.

Excellent selection of antique Flint locks and powder weapons. It is like being in a museum where everything is for sale.I am not sure if this Coachmans firearm killed 2 pirates or what the purpose of the stamp is.

A secret place in the middle of a busy intersection. They hold many invaluable pieces. Ive been now three times to this location. I have never been to a place that holds so much history that is neither a museum or an antique shop. MUST VISIT; add to your bucket list of things to see while in Houston.

I’ve purchased several firearms over the past several years, as well as accessories, ammo and several Emerson knives and the experience has always been exemplary. The staff is helpful, knowledgable and polite. They will also take the time with you if you are “just shopping” without getting impatient or snappy. This is my favorite gun store in the area, and once again, the experience has always been great. I kind of miss the old store, but the new one is quite nice; better lit and more space. Collector’s is one of my go-to stores as a recommendation, especially for newer shooters.

I spoke by phone with staff on the Internet Sales desk and they were absolutely perfect: they provided all the info I needed over the phone and followed up with additional answers. I have been following Collectors Firearms since I was a teen. My family estate left me in possession of a very old ball/cap set of pistols. Originally owned by my great, great grandfather, the 2 are walnut with a tremendous amount of silver... The butt is wrapped in silver with a facial design resembling the Aztecs, I believe. Elaborate etched inlay silver throughout, including trigger guards etc. (See photos of partial frames) Im thinking of releasing one of the pair. Hopefully CF is the correct starting point! They currently have nothing of this design and quality in the showcases Ive seen over several years. Theyre a Brite friendly group but I have never shown them my complete collection!

I called and was told they had a 92 fs. After driving 45 min to the place Im told the person I talked to must have been mistaken... when his litteral words were yea we got it, come on, come come. Dont tell people you have a particular gun when you dont just to get them into the store...

Great store. AMAZING COLLECTION. If you want anything old school or even ancient they will more than likely have it. This place is like a whole museum where you can buy what you see. Unfortunately due to COVID their newer weapon stock isn’t all that great but that’s not their fault, even with the Virus they’ve kept up pretty well stocked ok guns and ammo compared to other locations.

Ive been going to Collectors since 2003. I always appreciate their willingness to help and assistance when looking to make a purchase. Make sure you ask for Josh M, hands down he has made every single purchase of mine a pleasurable experience. True to his word and easy to talk to just making the process of purchasing a firearm an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Tim in tactical was an extremely rude individual. I was there to buy an AR-15 and I was so put off by his comments about common gun owners that I left and bought the same AR-15 from Carters Country... my advice to the owner, get rid of the holier-than-thou art salesman and invest in quality/ friendly and genuinely helpful staff.Update: I spoke with Nick at length about my negative experience and rest assured, he made things right and all is well. They have taken corrective action with regards to disrespectful staff members and I feel welcome in the store and will be back to shop once again. As a side note, one of the sales ladies is always great - i believe her name is Stephanie, she goes out of her way to be friendly and accommodating. Every time i see her, she is smiling and asking me if she can help with anything. Bravo Zulu Collectors !

Huge store with display cases of all kinds of new and used guns, plus interesting knives, armor pieces, and the like. Perfect experience browsing and getting my first revolver. The clerks gave me time to look around, then helped me narrow it down to the right one for me. Knowledgable in answering all questions, quick checkout, good store!

Expensive but they have a little of everything.The place is basically a museum. I do wish it wasnt so spread out though, feels a bit deserted.The old location was just so filled with character. Hopefully when guns are back to pre pandemic availability they will have time to decorate a bit

Lovely store to make a purchase from and if you show interest in spending money then they will attach theirselves to you, however of you are looking to trade even if you have something worth money or brand new they will give you an offer lower than what a pawnshop would give you. If you want to sell or trade I recommend someone else.

The only experience Ive had here was selling firearms. The impression I got of the business was very professional and organized. The process for selling your firearm is painless.They offer check or to cash out your check. The store itself is conveniently located, spacious, and clean. Ill be visiting again soon to take a better look at their wide variety of firearms, both new and used.

Large selection of firearms but sales people act like used car salesman and most of there items are overpriced was looking for a new rifle scope and the had the scope priced 50.00 more than the going rate went to a different firearms store and bought it there. If you want to see a large selection of firearms it a place to see but I would recommend doing some research or you be overpaying

Price gouging and taking advantage of your customer base is not the trend to follow. I’m appalled. Then when you try to talk to someone, either they don’t know or they belittle you and pounce on you. What a shame, won’t be back.

Collector’s is the best store in Houston to find cool/interesting/technical weapons. I’ve been a customer for years. However, their floor guys are really awful. I’m pretty young (26) and have never had a good experience with the employees of Collector’s. They’re brash and downright rude. If I ask any questions I’m always given vague, useless answers such as “it depends” or “I don’t know”. They really only cater to people that know exactly what they’re looking for when they walk in and are going to check out quickly. It’s quite clear they have no desire to actually offer assistance to anyone. I walked in planning to spend multiple thousands of dollars on an AR platform, but I had a few questions about hand guards and different lengths. I ended up getting no useful information from the people that are supposed to be the professionals about what they’re selling. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I went to another store and they answered all of my questions with ease and I ended up buying through Collector’s competition. I noticed this issue started a few years ago but since they moved into their new store, things have gotten much worse.TL;DR: if you know EXACTLY what you want and don’t have any questions, go to Collector’s Firearms. If you do have questions or are comparing a few different guns, go elsewhere because Collector’s won’t help you make your decision in any capacity.

We have not found anyone as knowledgeable about guns or ammunition than Tim at Collectors Fire Arms. He is always patient, willing to take the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly and is a wealth of information. Because of Tim, Collectors Fire Arms will always have our business.

Collectors Firearms has an impressive display of all sorts of items and probably is the go-to place to buy a gun in Houston. Ive bought a gun or two there over the years and have no complaints about their merchandise.I cant say the same for the discourteous wait staff. People who are basically retail clerks should have nicer manners than about half the people there, depending on which ones Ive talked to, and its a real shame. Collectors Firearms would be a great candidate for one of those undercover boss shows. I think the owner would, or certainly ought to, be stunned at the dismissive attitude of entirely too many employees there. Perhaps the notion that, for many things, its the only show in town has invited the wait staff to think courtesy is optional. Or perhaps working in a gun store attracts people who have an inflated sense of their contribution to the world. Whatever the cause, its a shame that the folks who work there are no more polite than they are to people who are more than happy to spend their money at the store. Abrupt and impatient are not the attributes of gentlemen, and being waited on by abrupt and impatient store clerks is not a pleasant shopping experience.

Beautiful new store. Felt like I walked in to a gun museum. Unfortunately all the staff, and there are a lot of them, weren’t very interested in helping. Walked around for more than 30 minutes and not one person said hello or offered to help. Maybe it is a museum and not a gun store. Very disappointed. Would not return. Better customer service at smaller gun stores.

Love the new store @ Westheimer and Voss! Excellent selection of very unique and interesting firearms. Service was great, and overall the process was very pain free.Important to note that they restrict sales of AR and AK style guns to 21+, as well as most (not all) of the firearms they sell are used. Not really a con, but pertinent to the store.

I had been eyeballing a Sako AV that was on their website, but was apprehensive about ordering because anytime you buy a used firearm online, you can understandably be leery about the description; a lot of less than truthful ad descriptions out there. I probably drove the guy a little nuts calling him over several days to ask him details about the rifles condition. Having him go back and forth to look at things I had forgotten to ask about etc. He wasnt kidding when he told me it was in practically new condition, and he worked with me on the price.Thanks Josh. I went to the NEW store today on Westheimer. Their first day at new location. I had several pistols which I hadnt fired in years and wanted to trade. The appraiser offered me a fair trade price and I walked in with 4 and walked out with 3. Russell took the time to show me the pistols I wanted and explained each one! Russell knows his weapons. I highly recommend Collectors for their inventory and pricing. FAR better than a gun show!!!!!
