Of course the prices are the only reason the store got 3 stars. Where do I start? Most of the time the fresh produce is not fresh. Sometimes their meat, especially the meat marked “Special”, is bad! I have bought some that smelled so bad, there was no doubt it would have made us sick! And last but not least, I care about the condition of the bathrooms. The bathrooms are broken and nasty and ugly. It smells like raw sewage! I have seen feces smeared on the stall walls and on the toilet. How can you not keep a bathroom sanitary during a pandemic with no soap or sanitizer or general sanitation? Nasty!

Its looking much cleaner than before. I go for.simple groceries like fruits and veggies. The selection was nice yesterday.

I shop at this location all the time. Though I wish they had a bigger selection, they do have good deals. Plus Im able to load up my Q card at the courtesy booth.

I have been shopping here for about 8 years now. I come here because location is near my home. I love the quick shopping, as I need produce, and deals they always have. Chicken prices cannot be beat, eggs always cheap, and other items always low priced. For seafood, Ribeyes, I go to Kroger, They were always open during the virus, and I love the people there. Just a quick stop into Food Town, my friends asked me to take him there. I wasnt there long but it enjoyed shopping there. they had the mexican zero sugar hibiscus bottled soda that Wal-Mart briefly carried so I was grateful for that.

Nice store, close and convenient. Produce area could use some innovations like sliced watermelons, fruit and cantaloupes. Sometimes you dont want a whole watermelon. Smaller, individual packaging would be nice. Meats are fine, I can never find whole wheat hot dog buns.

More than one year I gave them 5 star but today have really bad worker in money gram system work over there she is nervous and she have bad attitude and she is new ..I know the old workers they are 2 girls they are so good and respect 2 girls but the new girl really its not good the date is 10/17/20217.30 pm ....What I wrote up it was yesterday....but today I was there and I meet the cc manager she name is Lissett Guillen and I explained what happened yesterday with me really she helped me and she is so kind really.... today Im so happy when she helped me ....congratulations food Town administration have cc manager like Lissett Guillen.....thank you so much Lissett Guillen my regards to you and your administration.

This store was clean and well put together. The cashier was quite friendly and the older gentleman that sacked my groceries with the New Orleans accent was absolutely amazing. He was courteous, friendly and just a gem. I didnt get his name but kudos to him for making my day.

Food town is a decent grocery store. Employees are not friendly. Its important to me to always ask the cashier or whomever is helping me. My past three visits I was completely ignored. I also think the store compared to others is totally organized very weird. Juice is in the produce section of the store. It took me 3 walks around the store to finally find all the juice in the entire store. Snacks, chips, & a couple of other items are in places in the store that dont make sense. Definitely not the store to go to if your trying to be in & out. The looking around for things drives me bananas. I do like their app though! Pretty good deals throughout the week.

Good little food mart... there are many things I buy in other places that I cant find here but overall very convenient. Some of the workers need to smile a little , always looking angry mostly the males lol. The location is good too, I dont have to drive all the time.

Its a small, older store with a limited selection and competitive prices when compared to some of the larger stores in the area. Its not usually as crowded as some of the other stores, so it is easier to get in and out of quickly. Produce selection is limited, but fresh as well as the other departments. The store itself is well-worn, but clean, staff are friendly enough. If I have time, I prefer another store in the area, but if I need basic groceries and Im in a hurry, Food Town is certainly good enough.

Not a friendly staff. Allowing customers to enter and shop with no masks on. Several visits there I have seen employees wearing no masks. Bathrooms are not clean. I appreciate the fast response.

During the beginning of the pandemic, when there was talk of having everyone in quarantine, my family and I worried about keeping our pantries full and sanitizers at hand especially with other stores running low on supplies or temporarily closing. Fortunately it didnt last when through and through this local supermarket kept its doors open and helped make having food at our table one less problem in the trying year of 2020.

I have been in neighborhood for 30 years. My son as a 14 year old worked there when it was another Branded store, so I have a bit of loyalty to the location.Its a neighborhood store so the prices are about 20 to 25% more on most things. BUT, they run specials which are competitive to Walmart or Krogers. You gotta shop the specials. The store rep asked for examples on my post, so: e.g. I can get single serve frozen dinner for 87 cents to a $1 at other stores, here they are 1.29 most days; most sundries like foggers are $9 something; I can get them at Walmart for $8 or less. Bag of lettuce mix is 94 cents to a $1 nearby, here it is over $1.39 most days. Cream soda are 1.79 today, I can get at Walmart for 99 most days or less; I can go on but like I said shop the specials. A bag of frozen strawberries were $2.89 today, I can get them for $1.89 at Aldi or Walmart. Enough example for the store rep?I only go here in emergencies or if I am already at the dollar store next door.They have arranged many items and sections for the Hispanic demographics, but the same parking lot and across the street has specialized store at higher prices where more hispanics shop anywayThe meat department is good and prices are good. Lower choices on seafood. The frozen treat department is kinda ok but prices are higher.I understand the demographic and marketing, but I think they have it a bit wrong. The store of Beechnut close to 59 has security guards and the one near the Sam Houston tollway and Bissonnet requires guards and is almost empty while the nearby Walmart is always full. Not a pleasant experience for me as I and many of the nearby Chinatown residents not fit the demographic Foodtown is going for there. Nearby H.E.B. is always full even with higher prices than Walmart.Note to Foodtown marketing: Please understand I am writing a book on marketing and was a VP for Marketing at a large software company. While the industries are different, no one in marketing understands diminishing point of return by segmentation along racial and cultural lines. If the gurus of marketing really looked at what the returns are for their marketing campaigns, they will find shocking answers. Especially true for low margin industries. Look at Whole Foods, they are slowly losing ground for hitting the high-end yuppies. Aldi has the right formula, Stock no frill and highly competitive pricing. They dont cater to any demographics except maybe frugal shoppers. Target is doing better to compete with Walmart because they too lost their cultural biases.We are all equal and matter. Lose the racial and cultural biases in marketing. NY based marketing focus on cultural biases forces me to never shop or do business with any company that follows the trends. This is one store that has not failed me yet while going through what we are going through with this virus. They always stocked up and clean . They may not have the brand of tissue , water or cleaning products but they will have something you can use in place of it and the meat and produce is no worries always stocked . So Thank you for being there for our community in this time of need.

I stopped shopping at this Foodtown long long time ago that food goes bad within a day or two I bought a watermelon out of there I came home I saw a trail of water trickling down the floor all the way down the floor Im like where is this water coming from my table I followed the trail and guess what my watermelon had shrunk, make you stop and think, what really is going on with this food.. my watermelon has shrunk like a dried up raisin you do the math..

Good for a quick trip. This stores selection is limited but its great is you need something basic to finish a recipe. Always seems to be full though. You can also do things like renew your registration and buy stamps.

But they dont carry a lot of things like a regular grocery store they cater more toward their customers, I asked a produce employee 1 time for lemons he stated they didnt care lions just limes and some sort of lime or lemon hybrid that was sweet and good he said, I went back down by my house and bought lemons, I didnt understand that.

A big grocery store. But, normally I go thete to buy fish. There are many kind of fishes and other see food available here. Also there are some more stores like, mobile, jewelry, gifts and hair cut is also available here.Basically, it is like a super market. In short, a good store for shopping.
