Not your average Chinese restaurant! I cant say enough about the quality of ingredients and depth of flavor from each of the dishes Ive had here. This place is really next level. Simple authentic Chinese food yet beautifully presented with layers of depth in every bite.I try to order something different everytime i visit, and after 2 years, i have yet to be disappointed. If you havent been here yet, do not delay, its some of the best Chinese food Ive had outside of China and Taiwan!

Came here for lunch, we were attracted to the delicious smells from the food of people eating outside so we decided to try it. Service was good but kinda slow. They did appear to be training which made for some awkward exchanges but the food was very good. Shining star item was the chicken lettuce wraps. Not sure what they put in that chicken but it is addictive!!!

First time visitor, service was amazing! On food alone Id probably only rate 4 stars- everything was good but I wouldnt say amazing. But maybe I just dont know their specialties YET. I will be returning and would highly recommend!

The customer service here is always exceptional you have your server checking on you as well as other employees just making sure you are satisfied with your food and ask if you need anything else at the moment! Always picking up any unwanted plates so you have a clean place to continue eating on! Love it! All of it!!

Its been a couple years since ive visited, for various reasons, but I was genuinely craving their soups. This evening, I enjoyed the sizzling rice soup and am left even more impressed than my memory recalled.Everything else followed suit, most noticeably... The service!Thank you folks for being this awesome and delightful. I will be back sooner than later!

This is one of the best tasting Chinese meals I ever had… service was pretty slow, but they were very busy, and super polite about it all. Worth the wait. So good. My favorite part was when I asked for it to be “extra spicy” it came out very spicy… most places just take that and assume you don’t mean it… This was way out the way for me, but recommended by a friend. And he was right. Check it out.

This was one of the best dining experiences in a long time. The food is delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I think about 5 people checked on us through out the meal. I realy cant say enough about the service it was hard to miss the people running the restaurant. Everyone was as kind, upbeat and exactly what you want when dining. We had soups, apps, main dishes and a desert all of it was great. This placed ruined us from every eating Chinese food anywhere else within 20miles of North China Restaurant. Also the place is elegant, seated in a block of restaurants and Bars at the hwy6 and i10 east intersection. Parking is more than plenty for most nights, its well lit and fancy enough for a serious gatherings and still causal enough to feel at home in jeans. If you havent been here give it a try, you will be impressed.

Since I’ve moved to Katy this has been my go-to Chinese food place. I’ve been going here for years.I’ve had lots of Chinese food at plenty of different places but this is by far my favorite and most visited.Their General Tso’s Chicken is easily the best around. It’s flavor has that little extra something that I have never found anywhere else.The staff is always friendly and knows a lot of their customers (including me) by name. That should tell you something. People come back enough that they’re on a first name basis with the staff.The food is always good and if something happens to be wrong, they’ll happily make it right. That’s few and far between however.This is definitely a stop to make if you’re wanting some great Chinese food.

Service here was first class! The food was well presented. Food appeared fresh and of reasonable quality ingredients. The lack of a 5th star is that in my opinion the flavor is just not there. The loMain was very bland as was the egg drop soup. Also the lvl 2 spicy they want to charge an additional dollar is totally not worth it, I didn’t get the slightest amount of spice.

Exterior clean, interior clean. Greeted upon arrival. We had the dumplings, they let you know it will take 15 minutes and they are worth the wait. Sesame chicken and low mein noodles were all very tasty. Service is top notch! From the waitstaff, kitchen staff and manager! This was our first time and we will definitely be back!

This place is incredible. The food is delicious and it is family owned and operated. We’ve been regulars at North China for over 10 years and has never wavered in quality. Highly recommend.

The food was so delicious here. The sauce had excellent flavor and tasted exactly as it should. The service was great and we spoke to one of the owners who was friendly and hustling like the rest of the staff. Highly recommended.

The waitstaff here are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice and easy going. However, I cant forget the food. It was so delicious; full of flavor.

Look no further when seeking this type of cuisine, Fred and his staff are very tentative and did recommend a few of the house favorites, I got the ( garlic chicken lo mein, teriyaki chicken and the rice soup) excellent choices. Food is scrumptious exploding with amazing flavor in your mouth with every bite .It was a little busy when we walked in but you could imagine why, ITS GREAT HERE.

We were only there for the day and needed something filling that wouldnt take too long. Eric was our server with a nice and friendly demeanor. He recommended the sizzling rice soup and that was absolutely delicious...matter of fact everything was.Halfway on the road back to home, made me wish I had more...were 3 hours away and Im REALLY considering driving back up for the day. We really need this restaurant where we live. North China variety and quality makes them stand out from a regular restaurant.Get the egg rolls...youll regret it if you dont.

One of my favorite restaurant. Have been coming here FOREVER. They used to be located in memorial but moved. Food still taste great. Nice decor and food consistently good.

First time ordering here for takeout. Got the Pork Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, General Tsao extra spicy, Orange Chicken, Egg Rolls and Crab Puffs. Everything was delicious and the service was quick and very friendly! Will certainly be coming back!

We recently had dinner at this restaurant and the experience exceeded our expectations. The owner, Fred, was warm and personable, the waiter was attentive and courteous, the service was impeccable, our plates, bowls, and utensils were swapped out as we moved from dish to dish, and of course most important of all, the 4 dishes we ordered were all very delicious and tastefully presented. We opted to sit out in the patio and enjoyed a delightful evening, nice and cool, under the soft glow of the string lights. We will definitely come back.

This place is a GEM! I love how the owners and employees treat every single customer with care. They make me feel welcomed in their amazingly delicious establishment. The food spectacular. Im a regular at this restaurant.

Pros:The food is delicious! Staff is very professional and courteous. They even bow as they serve you! Restaurant reminds you of a real Chinese restaurant experience.Cons:The portion servings doesnt match the prices and the online menu differs from their in-house menu.And they dont allow you to substitute items like shrimp fried rice for white rice with an entree option.Recent update:So I went back to try this place out again on Saturday 6/12 and was once again disappointed. I ordered the Sizzling Shrimp in Garlic Sauce but when I received it I was not impressed at all. So they allowed me to order something else. I then ordered the General Tsos chicken because I figured this is simple and most places get this right. Well when I got home and tasted it, I was unequivocally disappointed and dissatisfied. The chicken tasted dried out and old. There wasnt much sauce and the flavor was all wrong. On top of it not being $20 worth. Their food portions never meet the price. I dont understand that.So needless to say I wont be going back. I tried twice but this is not the place.But I have to mention they are very nice and courteous. Sometimes they even bow when they serve you. I just wanted to mention that part. But for me the food, portions and taste is not pleasing.

I cannot tell you enough how awesome this place was! We were a group of 4 along with my 1 year old daughter. The dishes we had ordered ranged from boiled fish, vegetarian noodles (it was called something else), Garlic chicken and General Tso chicken. The two chicken dishes were mind blowing! The service was pretty good too! Highly recommend this place for some good authentic and American Chinese food!

I went here for a second time and it is incredible. The friendliness of the staff, and the delicious food. The cucumber was cut so perfectly it tasted so good than any other dish. Best Chinese food in Houston. Delicious blend of old and new -- the classics like General Tsos and Pork Fried Rice are our of this world, but you can also get the General Tsos Chicken Fried Chicken, or a deep fried soft shell crab. Unreal food and the proprietor is amazing and friendly. Great service great food and a great place to be a regular.

You can just tell the quality of the food with prices that you normally get for much less. From the flavorful jasmine tea to the light taste of egg rolls, its clear this place puts effort into even the smallest details. Everything was wonderful, what a great atmosphere. Theyve gained us as regulars

I went last night and had a great time. The staff was very nice and helpful.. I have a couple of complaints but neither of them warrant less than a 5 star rating. They do not have any asian beers which was a bummer but I like domestic just as well as foreign. I ordered the Beijing fish which is the best thing ever. I got a pong Lai beef and it was very good. General tsao chicken which was good. The fried rice was bland so add some soy sauce if you buy it. We also got a side of dumplings and egg rolls and hot and sour soup.. all of which were amazing. I highly recommend. I will be back, and now that Ive tried a large variety I know what exactly to buy when I go in next time

I was introduced to this place one day by a co-worker during lunch time when he shared some pot stickers with me. WOW, I have to go try this place.Ordered some take out dinners on the way home from work and it was all fantastic.My only regrets are that I have lived and worked in close proximity to North China for 10 years and I just now discovered their awesome food. Dang I have missed out on a lot of good eats. I always noticed that they have a very large lunch crowd. I now understand why.I highly recommend North China Restaurant

This is the second time I have gone to this place and it was awesome. Clean place very clean food flavors were very robust and I am a new fan of kimchi! I spoke with the owner as I waited for the food and he was totally cool! The kimchi was given to me on the way out the door and it was some of the best I’ve had! This place is amazing! All the food is super fresh and superbly cooked and seasoned 😋 We came in for dine-in and ordered kimchi as an appetizer and the Hunan Tofu and Hot Mandarin Shrimp lunch entrees. They offer their lunch specials 7 days a week! Not only did I sink my teeth into the best kimchi I’ve ever had, the shrimp, tofu, and fried rice blew my mind, it was so good. It was all way tastier than I expected. Great service, too! Color me thoroughly impressed 💕

I have only been to Texas once, and this was recently, within the last week.I live in NYC so trust that I know Chinese food very well and eat it often! Let me tell you, in all my experiences in the great state of Texas, this has got to be hands down the best one.I received impeccable service. Walked in with a Party of Five, was immediately greeted and seated. The only hang up was choosing off of the menu, because we were so hungry we wanted it all. Although we each had our own masks, I noticed that they were readily available if for whatever reason you werent wearing one. I really appreciated that, because I have a Grandmother who caught COVID and luckily shes in a better way today. In these times, for some, its still really scary to go out. Im happy this place did and does their part to keep us all safe.The environment was amazing and the food came in a snap. We went for appetizers, main course, desert, the works. I couldnt make up my mind so I asked what they would recommend: The Beijing Fish. You gotta get this. You gotta try it. Because wow.I plan on visiting Texas again in a bit when things are a bit back to normal, and Im gonna be coming in for lunch every single day.I dont do this lightly, I am a tough critic, but these five stars were well earned. I cant wait to come back!

Every time I come here I have the best experience. Some of the friendliest service I have ever had. They always have a smile on their faces and genuinely want to know how you are doing. I have never tried a dish that I didnt enjoy. Perfect dumplings, delicious soups, and very authentic entrees. I have yet to try any of their sweets, but Im sure they knock those out of the park too. A must stop every time I come to Houston.

I really enjoyed the food here. I ordered sesame chicken lunch special. Very good. I asked for spicy since this dish isnt spicy and that fell short but I just added their hot sauce and that helped. Flavor was great.The Hot and Sour soup was not good which kept this review from being 5 stars. I will try the wonton soup next time.All in all i really did like the food here and cant wait to go back.

My wife and I finally gave this place a try after passing through it so many times during our commute. They didn’t disappoint. Overall the restaurant was clean and had a relaxing vibe. Staffs were professional and very very friendly.Most importantly, the foods were delicious! This is not your regular chinese food. Every dish we ordered were delicious and fresh, not overly greasy or sweet.Their pan fried dumplings are a must! We will be coming back.

North China is solid. Great tasting dishes that seem fresher than other places. Been there a lot and will be there again.

Been here a few times before covid and recently have been back for take out a couple times. Food is consistently great quality. We order gluten free and the guy who answers and also cooks some of the stuff is super helpful. One of the food delivery apps wasnt available when I ordered a few weeks ago so I drove from the i10 and Westgreen area to pick up. It only takes 6 minutes to get there and its so worth it.

The place looks cool on the inside and they have amazing staff that are very friendly and helpful. the only thing i didnt like was the food very bland and also the sauce they gave me was thicker than molases not a bad place just a few things they could work on!

We ordered the orange beef, general tso chicken, and beijing beef with vegetable lo mien and ate family style. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Meat was very tender.

This restaursnt has delicious pan-fried dumplings. They were perfectly crisped to perfection and included two dipping sauces. All the food was beautifully presented and the service was very attentive. I found the garden chicken a bit bland and my husband found the orange chicken a bit sweet. The decor is soothing and attractive.

Ordered the hunan chicken lunch. Food was tasty but portions were skimpy. For the price and portion Id rather go to another place, plenty of options around. You dont get soup and the egg roll was more like a flauta, lacking filling.
