They have what I need and an incredible wealth of experience (particularly on Sundays when the original owner is around).

These guys installed my handle bar tape for me and even courteously fixed my brakes for me! Very reasonable prices and I feel as if I’ve found my go to bike shop. The older gentleman (possible owner) is a sweet heart and rolled my baby out to me. Definitely will be back and to even purchase a small road bike for my fiancé.

I was looking all over for a cargo rack (over back tire) the one that fits my bike Trek Verve 1 is the Topeak 29er.I called a few sporting goods stores, no one had the rack in stock and had it priced at $59.Southwest Cyclery had it in Stock and at a lower price. Reasonable prices on used bikes

I originally bought my custom Project One Trek Madone from my old race car buddy Jeff Bailey at Bikesport. Jeff retired and closed Bikesport in 2014 and sad to say passed away last year. I was hesitant to take my bike for service to a shop I did not buy it from for fear of second class treatment. There is one major bike dealer in Houston I am not going to mention that was out of question for obvious reasons. Since Southwest Cyclery is near my house I decided to pay them visit. Have been there several times to service my bike, getting brake pads and handle bar tape replaced and getting new tape in my wheel rim. Matt and Bob are super and gracious and these folks do quality work. Prices are very reasonable. Will return soon to get chain and cassette replaced. Highly recommend these folks without hesitation!

I was riding down Brays bayou and my chain started skipping gears really bad. I looked up a nearby bike shop and saw this place. I stopped in to see what they had to say. I knew there was a problem. A week ago I went to two other bike shops, one of which is a huge bike shop in Houston. But they were questioning as if I didnt know how to switch gears or something. By the way, its bike barn. Horrible customer service. I left that place and went to other place and they said that the cables were a little loose. Now going back to today. Matt looked over the bike and rode it after I explained my problem. He figured it out. Overall time to solve the issue, less than 20 minutes. Pretty fast considering he had to replace a part. The point is, I use my bike alot. I know eventual tune ups and replacement of parts is necessary. The service was fast and cheap. And heres the thing, Matt actually listened to what I was saying and not trying to make me feel stupid. I appreciate people and businesses who love what they do. Its not just a J.O.B. for them. Thanks guys for the help, I will definitely be back.

Since the pandemic I got into cycling as a new form of exercise. Ill be honest, I bought the first bike I could get my hands on in stock at the time, one from Amazon for $299. It looks great, came with disc brakes, very heavy and the handlebars were really low causing me some lower back pain. So I order a pair of replacement drop bars, an extender stem and adjustable stem to fit my new handlebars. I also purchased new integrated shifters as the bike I purchase came with the index shifters. I packed all this stuff and my bike down to Southwest Cyclery and they worked their magic. My shifters were incompatible with my existing derailleur and crankset. Long story short, Southwest got me going, I took the bike I for a test ride that evening and it was like a brand new bike!!! For the work that was done, they gave me a great deal. This is my first bike since I was a teenager and I really didnt want to invest that much into it seeing how I plan to upgrade in the near future.The guys over at Southwest made this a very good experience and called me regularly to let me know what was going on with the bike. They really made me feel like they were invested in getting the bike to work like I wanted. Prior to going here I visited another well known big name bike shop who shall remain nameless. They were less accommodating and treated my questions like I was a burden because I didnt own a $2500 Cannondale. Southwest just had that old mom and pop feel which is what I wanted, people who were experienced and personable. I want to thank all the guys that helped me including Bob, I think that was his name who Im pretty sure was the owner. My next project will probably be to build my own bike from the frame up, well....have Southwest build it for me. Highly recommend this place.

Great bike shop! The employees greeted us promptly, checked the tire, and knew exactly what to do to fix it. We looked around and before we knew it, the bike was ready to go. The shop is very busy because they are excellent at what they do. Be prepared to leave the bike and pick it up later, like a dry cleaners. Highly recommend Southwest!

This place is great! Tony helped me out and tightened my bike chain before I even finished checking out all this place has to offer! He even let me test drive my bike out to make sure it worked well! He also explained why my chain was falling out to begin with and answered other questions I had!

Very quick to repair the flat tire and comparatively inexpensive.What I appreciated most was the care that they took with the bike and how everyone was practicing not only the social distancing but wearing the masks. I felt as safe as could be expected. I wish them all the best.

Came in to have my rear derailleur checked out because I just couldn’t get my gears shifting correctly. The owner took time out of his busy schedule to give it a look and had my bike running smooth as butter in just a few minutes. Highly recommended this shop, will definitely be coming back for tune-ups in the future!

I went in looking for a beach cruiser, something brand new but simple. The staff showed me several options and even pointed out a restored vintage bike. After riding the new bikes, I ended up loving The used bike. I saved big money and got my favorite bike since the 1980s. They could have upsold me, in stead the served me well. They also have safer, better fitting helmets than big box stores.

I purchased a bike from this business 20 years ago and the owner remembered me buying that bike. They have always sold top quality bikes. I took my bike there recently for a tune up and they replaced my gears, grips and shocks. The work was exceptional and the price with labor was also top notch. I have told all my friends about this place and I live several miles outside of Houston. I don’t mind driving the distance for great prices and top quality work.

This has got to be one of the best bike shops in Houston. Ive been coming here since they were a Schwinn shop. The prices are reasonable, customer service is excellent, and bike maintenance is unmatched. I trust these guys.This is a perfect time to get your bike fixed up and get out of the house. Bad customer service. Really, really bad.It took over a month to get my bike back when I was told it would take one week. Every time I called they would tell me one more week. I called them four times over this time frame but I never received a call from them to tell me there were delays.They dont pay attention to customers. I wouldnt have been bothered by the delays had they simply communicated.

SW Schwinn has a great selection of bicycles including road, mountain, cruisers, childrens, etc. Ive personally bought a road and cruiser for my mom and received the help I needed to make my decision. The customer service is nice and friendly. To top it off you will get warranty on your bicycle which I thought was completely great. They also have all the accessories and gear you could need for your bicycle which Ive also bought and all their items have been resourceful and useful.

I am updating my review because I am no longer satisfied with the service my partner and I received at Southwest Cyclery. They sold us a bike two sizes too small for him, which aggravated his knee problems and caused other painful issues. We didnt know much about bikes at the time of our purchase, but after doing more research and after dealing with a far more competent bicycle shop in Austin, we feel taken advantage of. Looking back at our experience, they were just trying to move inventory rather than actually helping us at all.

Good attention, and they know how to fix that I want. I recommended.

Never coming back. They had my bikes for almost a month. Everytime I called, they did not know what bikeS I has referring to. Got hung up twice. When I called back, I could hear them laughing in the background. I expressed how poorly I was treated and asked for a manager. Kid said manager leaves early to avoid unhappy customers. This shop is a joke. Super unprofessional! Their prices are also higher than most shops.

This bike shop is amazing. I have been going here for 15 plus years and have never once been disappointed. I recently had a bike accident on a newly purchased bike, and I took my bike to Houston Cycling Centres Southwest for the repairs because I was confident that they could repair it as good as new. The owner got me back up and riding in no time. He also spent the time to source the correct parts and help me make informed decisions on whether to upgrade components or simply replace at the current level. Overall the staff are very knowledgable about bike repairs/maintenance, purchasing a bike or even adding the right accessories and the prices are very reasonable. FYI, they have recently moved across the street so be aware of the new location.

The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable in their field, great group of guys. They will do whatever possible to see you leave the store a satisfied customer. They have a fantastic selection of bikes and the prices are very reasonable in relation to quality; youll get more than you pay for here than elsewhere. Im a regular for over 20, years straight Bob is the owner very pleasant individual. Whenever I have a problem in the area I will go see Bob always. Californian in town visiting friends for the week, I decided i wanted to do something different. I wanted to get around town by bike instead of renting a car. Did some googling and found this lil gem. At first I was looking for something to rent but I was able to find something for pretty cheap where I could get around town and look good while I was doing it. Matt was a little too much Texas for my style but what he lacked in looks, he sure made up in expert advice and savings. I for sure did not leave unsatisfied. He gave me such a great deal on this Micargi Fixie, he even thru in a small lock for $5. How is that even possible?? Anyway, they have a great selection of affordable bikes, expert advice and friendly service. Come check them out!

I have been a loyal customer for 2+ years. I have purchased 3 bikes for myself and on for every member of my family. This is a family owned business. The people there are very helpful and actual cyclists. Not the big box store where you are just a number.

I went to buy a bike from Southwest Schwinn, and I must say it was a very pleasant experience. I was able to test ride the bikes, and they fitted me for it by size. The person that helped me was friendly and answered all my questions. They allowed me to trade up in addition they loaded the bike on my vehicle.Happy customer

I brought in two used bikes, one hybrid and one cruiser. They both had brake problems and the hybrid had a bad cassette. Mario had the bikes ready for me the next day with an explanation of the charges: mostly replacement part costs with a relatively small labor fee and a few pro bono fixes. My wife and I are happy with the results. Their staff was easy to work with, especially Mario who I spoke to the most.

I have been a loyal customer for 15 plus years. I now live over an hour away and still only take my bicycle to this shop. I tried others like Bike Barn, but they just try and upsell you on a new bicycle instead of just fixing your flat.

They do a fine job tuning up but they charge you for everything.. a $100 tune up cost me $250 with no phone call or heads up!

Love working with Matt and his guys too.

My greeting and respect for them have earned it.

Literally just got off the phone with someone who seemed only able to talk in one word sentences. “Nope. Nope. Bye bye.” Not helpful at all. Used to be an ok cycle shop.

I went to the SW location today, I came in wanting to repair my flat and to show me how to change out my own tire and what tools I would need since Im new to bike riding .They took there time with me and answered all my questions I will gladly support and keep coming back to this shop .
