I always have an amazing experience each time I go to The Make-Up Artist Project. The first time I went was for an airbrush class which turned out to be one of the best courses I’ve ever taken! Samantha, my teacher, was so professional and always cares for her students. Years later I decided to get my hair certification. My class was small, which was even better since I got a lot of one-on-one time with the teacher. I always learn from the best at this location so if you’re looking for a makeup or hair course, this place is for you. The makeup store has everything you need! Whether you’re a makeup artist or into beauty - this store has it all! Overall, such a great environment to be in. Would highly recommend to everyone!

Truly makeup heaven for pros and for makeup addicts / enthusiasts! Their organization for special events and seminars is awesome and they’re truly helpful if customers have any questions, either in person or by phone. Kudos to John who advised me when purchasing makeup for my kit last time I went. I definitely recommend following The MUA Project on Instagram to stay up to date with them and see any special announcement they have regarding seminars or just the products they are restocking.

I love this store ! I’ve been coming here since I started doing makeup about 9 years ago! The owner “ THE INDIAN GUY “ is always so helpful and introduces me to new products that I fall in love with. So many products here that I can’t find any where else. Also they give amazing classes. All the employees take the time to help each customer out. The owner seen my worth and offered me to sell my products in their store which was amazing .... I’m a small black owned business. There are so many black owned brands in the store and I love the way they’re equally treated ! I tell everyone in Houston to shop here !

5 years ago I decided that I was going to take a fundamental class at THEMUAPROJECT. I got to learn all the basics and loved that I got to have hands on experience with models of all different skin types/ethnicity’s. I also really enjoyed that they gave you tips on how to start your business.Since then I’ve been able to expand on my basic makeup knowledge and make a full time career out of doing makeup. I would honestly say, this is my fav store. I always drive for what I need and drop a lot of money because they always have good deals or just exciting stuff out. Hands down recommend to take classes through The MUA Project because they remember their students and it’s always a plus to get a discount 💁🏽‍♀️. They got all the brushes and the cleaning products for all the local mua’s.

One of my favorite places to go where a girl can just have fun and play with makeup. They have a variety of makeup and color to choose from. They have some brands that you can’t get at Sephora which are super affordable.

The owner saw me trying to make a decision about which makeup bag or case to purchase and helped me find the perfect case to fit my needs. I cant say enough good things about this place. They carry items that you cant find at other makeup stores or even online, and their prices are unbeatable! The salespeople are very knowledgeable and can help you find exactly what you need and also give you some helpful tips. Would def. recommend stopping in if you are a pro artist or just a makeup lover, like myself!

I was in makeup heaven going here. So many great quality brushes and sets. All very low priced. You can even play with and sample most everything! Contrary to what others have said they do have amazing customer service. I wasn’t expecting Sephora level service. It’s a supply store. Robyn?? I want to say her name was, sorry if I’m wrong, more than exceeded my expectations and made the whole trip so fun and worthwhile. Definitely will be a loyal customer from here on out.

I took the airbrush certification and fundamentals of make up classes here and I feel soo much more confident in my skills, which I hardly knew anything at all! Samatha is awesome, she always comes in up beat and ready to teach! All of the staff here are really great as well and are super helpful! Prices rock here for make up needs as well! Check em out!

I took the Fundamental makeup artist class and it was the best experience. I learned so much about techniques and makeup hygiene. Samantha was my instructor and she was very nice and took care of every detail. Highly recommended it.

Luckily I was able to find what I was looking for... on my own. Its like no one wanted to help me. This was after a good number of people had left and all the floor were deliberately asking other clients if they needed help. If there is another theater makeup place that is closer, I will seek it out rather than going to this place. I was also very dismayed that the small amount of theater makeup was sequestered off into a small hidden corner as if they dont want to advertise that they cater to theater geeks, only basic chicks.

I love this place above all cosmetic place. I will add this is the best The Make-Up Artist Project of all. Such a good selection and knowledge of all things beauty. Highly recommend this, Sephora?? This place is definitely better.

I need to watch myself when coming here because I can go bankrupt lol. The selection has grown over the years. It’s the perfect place for a makeup artist. My only issue is how far it is from me but maybe that’s a good thing so I can stay away!!!! :)

I took the 5 week airbrush certification class at the MUA Project instructed by Samantha. Sam is so sweet and the best makeup instructor you could ask for. I was very impressed with the amount of makeup and supplies that are included with the cost of the class. The class is very hands on, I learned so much and I never left with any questions unanswered. I debated taking this course for a long time and I’m so glad that I finally took a leap and did it! If you are considering airbrush certification I would highly recommend the course at the MUA Project!

I fell in love with this place after seeing it on Instagram. As a Pro MUA that is new to the Houston area, I was absolutely obsessed after just my first visit! Really nice selection of products, tools,and supplies. I also love that they have additional space used for classes and photo shoots! My family, and I went here the other day. My grandma came down to visit from Jacksonville, Fla and we wanted to make up shop. When we first walked in, we noticed the sales associate told, the other lady that was there(the Manager) to watch us. One of my family members pulled the manager to the side, and told her that she saw what she told her, and it made us all very uncomfortable. We wanted to spend our money here, which we have a lot of. It offended us, we didnt buy anything we left. I wont return here, they have good products but the customer service was horrible. Im offended , and wont let my family or friends shop here.

This store is TRASH!!!! The testers are full of dust and hair... how disgusting. First of all they look like a Ross..everything is everywhere secondly the staff dont help for nothing. Feels like I was at a over priced Halloween store...go harwin if you want anything from here but cheaper!!

Nice selection for good prices of serious make-up for stage work or modeling. My 13 year old is already pretty skilled with her cosmetics and interested in learning more. The lovely lady at the register was respectful and helpful to my daughter. Really refreshing to see someone take my daughter seriously. My daughter loves this store, and its even renewed my interest as well, so well definitely be back!

Love the store...Always go here to buy any brushes for myself....sucks that they no longer have any Morphe Brushes....but i still go for eyelashes or any other makeup products...

I love this store bUT if youre like me, and cant make it during the week, most brushes are all sold out by the weekend.

Only place Ive seen with morphebrushes in store! They have a lot of products that you can only purchase online. They have EK glitters, morphebrushes, Ben Nye powders. Only thing that sucks is that they are low on inventory. The employees dont interact so dont expect coming into an Ulta/Sephora. You kind of do your own shopping, which I dont mind since I dont like feeling pressured. But overall GREAT PLACE!

The staff follows you around very closely, I assume thinking that you need to steal. I refuse help because the workers there either dont have on makeup, or the makeup that they do have on sucks. My last visit was very unpleasant due to all three workers following me from aisle to aisle. This made me very agitated because when I do get the chance to go , Im usually coming way from Beaumont.

I had an emergency situation, i had left my airbrush foundations in Dallas, and a small shop who sells airbrush paints, foundations ,etc that i was recommended was closed. It was on a friday , I started frantically looking for another place that had the graftobian airbrush foundations because i had a quinceanera party of 12 that i was booked for on Saturday . This was the only place that I found these. I was thrilled. Very clean and organized . They have alot of products that you can only find online , in stock at the store.

It was my first time going. I had heard lots of great things online as well as by other artist. I was going with the expectation it to be an Ulta/Sephora kinda store. It was tiny in comparrison. They do have some of those high end brands u can only find online. My experience was neither great, exceptional, or WOW. It was just ehhhh. There was not many ppl. working the register and they were out of a lot of things. When I finally did get recognized, the young lady was nice, attentive and knowledgable. I went looking for an opinion on what i was doing persoanally as far as make up went. I got exactly that. She said whatever i was doing was fine. However, I do need to color correct. Which I had suspected for a while, but ulta never had what i needed. For 7 tiny things I paid close to $60 dollars. Well worth the wait bc I didnt want to buy online, but I just wish they had more of a variety and stock. This will be a store I WILL RETURN too.

I went to airbrush classes for 5 weeks and I can tell that I learned too much 💯 Recommended all those who work ai super nice and nice people and the owner does not say and the Instructor much ma !! And the Course of 15 weeks Super! Appear that you learn to talk at the same time! ❤️❤️💄💄✅✅✅✅✅✅✅I went for airbrush makeup classes for 5 weeks I learned a lot 100% recommended everybody there is so nice even the owner and my beautiful Instructor 💗👱🏼♀️ !!And I Took the 15 weeks classes too!I learned even more And, A lot fun! 😁🙌🏻✅💄❤️❤️❤️

Before, it was the store that I went to for makeup, its prices went up a lot, very expensive and the girls are super tight, they do not serve well, they are just there to charge.And the place looks like a buzzard, its super small, and it smells like food all the time.They need to update themselves because they already have very good competition.
